MOUNT NEBO — James C. Tucker, 78, of Nicholas County, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Summersville. Friends may call one hour before service today at the funeral home.

Naomi Elizabeth Williams

WHITE OAK, Ga. — Naomi Elizabeth Williams, 86, formerly of Hinton, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at her home following a long illness.

PETERSTOWN — Benna Sims Young, 86, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at Springfield Comprehensive Care Center, Lindside.

Bonnie Alene Davis

Bonnie Alene Davis, 90, of Crab Orchard, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in a Beckley care center following a long illness.

James Hobert Davis

RIPLEY — James Hobert Davis, 101, formerly of Lawn, passed away in Ripley on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, following a short illness.

Born Jan. 12, 1904, in Raleigh County, he was the son of the late Samuel Lewis and Sena Annie O’Neal Davis.

Mr. Davis was retired from the FMC Corp. at Front Royal, Va., and was associated with Calvary United Methodist Church at Ripley.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Vandall Davis.

He leaves to mourn his memory a nephew, the Rev. Charles E. Hicks and wife, Joy, and family, Chuck, Jonathan and Matthew, with whom he made his home, and a host of other nephews and nieces.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Charles E. Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial cemetery, Clintonville.

Friends may call one hour before service Friday at the funeral home.

Myron Judah Davis

BARTOW — Myron Judah Davis, 22, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005.

There will be no service. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Arbovale.

Kathleen R. Easley

Kathleen R. Easley, of 108 Sour St., Beckley, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Raleigh General Hospital.

Jack Leo Fisher Jr.

LANSING — Jack Leo Fisher Jr., 42, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at the home of his brother, Mike Lewis.

Born Aug. 3, 1963, at Lansing, he was the son of the late Jack Leo Fisher Sr. and Joan Kathleen Mitchell.

Mr. Fisher attended Lansing Baptist Church. He was a timber cutter for Lester Jones Trucking and a professional river guide with Drift-A-Bit. He enjoyed auto mechanics and NASCAR racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Owen L. Smith.

Survivors include his companion, Ruth Migner of Ramsey; brothers and sisters, Mike A. Lewis and wife, Shirley, of Fayetteville, Sue Adkins and husband, Richard, of Ansted, Janet Howington of Lansing, Dale Smith of Lansing and companion, Tina Motley of Oak Hill, Winona Fisher and fiancé, Steven Baldwin, of Franklin, Ky., and Anna Williams and husband, Scott, of Fort Bragg, N.C.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Tony Jones officiating. Cremains will be scattered in the New River at a later date.

Friends may call one hour before service Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802-1472.

Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, is in charge of arrangements.

Tiny Kesner Gill

HINTON — Tiny Kesner Gill, 67, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a short illness.

Born March 23, 1938, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late William and Nina Kesner.

Ms. Gill was a homemaker and had lived all of her life in Summers County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Gill; and a daughter, Nancy Ann Gill.

Survivors include seven sons, Leonard Gill of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Gill of Hinton, James Gill of Richmond, Va., Kenneth Gill of Pennsylvania, Danny Gill of Richmond, John Gill of Talcott and Jerry Gill of Hinton; three daughters, Barbara Young of Richmond, Bonnie Gill of Pennsylvania and Alice Gill of Pipestem; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jody Kesner of Hagerstown, Md.; three sisters, Mary Raia of Hughestown, Pa., and Dorothy Adkins and Betty Jane Adkins, both of Hinton; a half brother, Tony Simmons of Pomeroy, Ohio; and countless nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Johnny Wills officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Acord Peters

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Service for Patricia Ann Acord Peters, 55, of Frankfort will be 2 p.m. today at Rogers Funeral Home, Frankfort.

Mrs. Peters died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She will be buried in Frankfort cemetery.

Born Feb. 24, 1949, in Hotchkiss, she had also lived in Jacksonville, Fla.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Re’Nee Cooper (Elliott) Klemens and Lisa Ann Peters (Mark Gibbons) Woods, both of Frankfort; a son, William Bryan Cooper (Shelly Gibbons) of Jacksonville; her mother, Mary Acord Cozart (Samuel L. Kemp) of Jacksonville; her father, Ivan Acord (Thelma) of Lester; a sister, Patsy Lynn (James) Drury of Yulee, Fla.; a brother, Steven Lloyd (Karen) Kemp of Jacksonville; and five grandchildren, Steve Spencer, Mark Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Cooper, Ella Klemens and Shelly-Elizabeth Gibbons.

Pallbearers will be Elliott Klemens, Mark Gibbons, Michael Klemens and Mark Cooper.

Friends may call noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elsie Mae Sauls Alderman

Elsie Mae Sauls Alderman, 94, of Stover, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 16, 2006, at her home with her loving family around her.

Born Oct. 30, 1911, at Stover, she was the oldest of 10 children born to the late Burrell and Anna Laura Rorrer Miller.

She was married to the late Levi David Sauls on Jan. 27, 1927, and was united for 38 years. They were blessed with eight children. She then married Paul Frederick Alderman. A lifelong resident of Raleigh County, she spent her life serving her Lord and trying to make others happy. She was a member of Dameron Freewill Baptist Church where she worked with the Ladies Quilting Auxiliary for many years. She was the last remaining pillar of the founding church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, her flowers and her most precious moments, her family gathered around her.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ellen, on Nov. 2, 1932; brothers, Lomer, Chester, Don and Warren Miller; sisters, Geneieve McMillion and Ruth Linesberry; a half brother, Arnett Miller; three half sisters, Opal Bradford, Mathel O’dell and Ocie Massey; and a grandson, Harry Ray Johnson.

Left to cherish her memory are seven remaining children, a daughter, Juanita Merle Cyrus of Beckley; daughter, Lillian Jewell Johnson and husband, Harry, of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Damon Lee Sauls and wife, Janet, of Cleveland, Ohio; son, Lowell Jay Sauls of Stover; son, Donnie Vern Sauls and companion, Patty Alford, of Lower Sandlick; daughter, Cathy Irene Dillon of Stover; and daughter, Karen Faith Linville and companion, Paul Adkins, of Fayetteville; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Linda French and husband, Charles, of Arnett; stepson, Paul Alderman of Charleston; special friend, Edna Asbury of Arnett; sisters, Bessie Husner of Lyons, N.Y., and Esta Pettry of St. Albans; and a brother, James Miller of Stover.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Clay cemetery, Dameron.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Pallbearers will be Eric Sauls, David Sauls, Shannon Linville, Johnny Dillon, Robbie Cyrus and Raymond Sauls.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Clements, Jason Cyrus, Eddy Cyrus, Michael Johnson, John Johnson and Spc. Paul M. Clements.

We give our special thanks to Hospice for their caring and support, especially Linda, Debbie and Jonette.

Robert ‘Bob’ Allen

Robert “Bob” Allen, 82, of the Pine Knob area of Naoma, died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, after a long illness.

He was born July 31, 1923, at Naoma, a son of the late Andrew Meade and Flora Vealey Allen.

Mr. Allen was a retired employee of Armco and Peabody Mines, Montcoal, and a member of the UMWA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Carlos and Orley Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Webb Allen; two daughters, Mary Sue Allen of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Marlena Jo Codda and husband, Charles, of Port Townsend, Wash.; sister, Betty Pettry and husband, Bill, of Mount Hope; brother, Kenneth Allen and wife, Loretta, of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Helen Higbee, Ruben Codda, Phillip Codda and wife, Joyce, Cheo Codda and wife, Kristin, and Rio Codda and wife, Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Jahnay, Zoe, Gavin and Fallon Codda and Henry Higbee.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with Pastor Ottie Tyler and Benny Turner officiating. Singers will be the Turner Family.

Burial will follow in the family cemetery at Pauley Hill, Pine Knob.

Friends may call one hour before service Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Lawrence William Arbogast

ELKINS — The Rev. Lawrence William Arbogast, 79, of Tallman Avenue, a native of Beverly, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, April 18, 2006.

The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. today at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home, Elkins.

Final rites will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at the American Legion’s Little Arlington cemetery, Cravensdale.

Lohr & Barb Funeral Home, Elkins, is in charge of arrangements.

OCEANA — Cubby Franklin David Barber, 40, departed this life Wednesday, April 19, 2006.
