Anna Belle Weiford

Anna B. Weiford, 91, of Shady Spring passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007.

Born Sept. 15, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Willie Mae Williams.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by husband, Stewart Weiford; brothers Earl Williams and Orland Williams; and sisters, Edith Roger, Jewell Lutz and Ruby Williams.

Anna was a volunteer for over five years at the VA hospital. She worked in the war plants during World War II in Akron, Ohio.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Ray Bailey and wife, Lois, of Webster, N.Y., and James Weiford and wife, Lisa, of Shady Spring; granddaughters, Amanda Weiford, Rebecca Kamal and Lynn Schwartz; grandson, Robert Bailey; sister, Alma McClean of Hollywood, Fla.; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Robert Barley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends may gather with the family 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Paul H. Stewart

Paul H. Stewart, 80, of Pineville, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007, following a long illness.

Born Dec. 24, 1926, he was the son of the late Forrest D. and Merlie Cook Stewart.

Paul was a life-long resident of Wyoming County, where he had a Nationwide Insurance Agency for 30 years. He attended the Cook Memorial Baptist Church of Pineville, WV; was a 50-year member of the Pineville Masonic Lodge No. 138 and was a WWII Veteran.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Buell Stewart, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife of 59 years, Minnie Glea Stewart of Pineville, WV; a sister, Iris Gail King and her husband, Ron, of Mechanicsville, Va.; an aunt, Faye Gilliand of Pineville, WV; and very special nieces and nephews, Linda and Ron Greear and Sharon and John Jackson, all of Pineville, WV.

He was blessed with the following nieces and nephews, Joe and Melissa Hoskins of Cross Junction, Va.; Gary Arnold of Charleston, WV; Diana and Jerry Bartram of Huntington, WV; Martha and Scott Warne of Clarksburg, WV; Heather and Jamie Gifford of Weston, WV; Aimee and Robert Browning of Morrisville, Ky.; Jeff King and Lori Wilmoth of Clarksburg, WV; Bobby and Candy Cooper of Saulsville, WV; Lynn and David Stafford, Terry Cooper, Tammy Cooper and Debbie Compton, all of Pineville, WV; and Sharon Ann Arnold of Cool Ridge, WV.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Calfee Funeral Service with the Rev. Clay Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The men of the church will serve as pallbearers.

Calfee Funeral Service of Pineville is serving the Stewart family.

Essie Cosby Mae Muncy

GILBERT — Essie Cosby Mae Muncy, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Bonnie Alene Nelson

SUMMERSVILLE — Bonnie Alene Nelson, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Ansted Center, Fayette County, after a long illness.

Born March 4, 1917, at Winona, Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late George and Belle Heslep. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Hobert Nelson; her four brothers, Donald Heslep, Guy Heslep, Dewey Heslep and Julius Heslep; and three sisters, Una Vaughan, Elizabeth Small and Thelma Heslep.

Bonnie was a graduate of Nuttall High School. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Richwood, where she made her home for 46 years and raised her children. A talented seamstress and outstanding cook. Bonnie delighted in her vegetable and flower gardens. She always had a warm welcome and a warm meal for family and friends whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her four children, Audrey Ross, Gerald “Jerry” Nelson and wife, Ellen Nelson, Carol Bjork and husband, John Bjork, and Linda Garrett Dyer and husband, Robert Dyer; sister, Phyllis Sovine; and sisters-in-law, Ruby Heslep, Laura Heslep and Annabelle Heslep.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Steven Nelson, Debora Sharp, Lisa Vannoy Haas, Cindy Vannoy Smith, Daniella Moulden, Vanessa Catuzzi and William Charles Garrett II; and four great-grandchildren. Bonnie was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all of them.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted, with Pastor David Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial cemetery, Sam Black Church.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.

Lillian Newsom

CHARLESTON — Lillian Newsom, 84, of 1314 Red Oak St., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice Care Inc., Charleston.

Arrangements entrusted to Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor, Beckley.

Arlie E. Shatley

Arlie E. Shatley, 93, of Rhodell, formerly of Lashmeet, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at her residence following a long illness.

Born Oct. 28, 1912, at Lashmeet, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Cora Harmon Cecil.

Mrs. Shatley was a homemaker, had been a resident of Rhodell for the past 10 years and was a member of Lashmeet Community Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C. Shatley; a daughter, Carol Shatley; a son, Ralph D. Shatley; two sisters, Loretta Cecil Carden and Letha Cecil Walsh; and two brothers, Enoch Cecil and Willis Cecil.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Delores Short of Centralia, Ill., and Rita Lilly of Rhodell; five sons, Paul D. Shatley of Lakevilla, Ill., Raymond Shatley of Halls, Tenn., Lloyd Shatley of Marietta, Ga., Jerry Shatley of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Del Shatley of Rhodell; two sisters, Trula Babbington and Lillian Richards, both of New Jersey; three brothers, Curtis Cecil of Lashmeet, Harrison Cecil of Baltimore, Md., and Alfred Cecil of Lashmeet; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hannah Lilly cemetery, Odd, with the Rev. Dan Coalson officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Jeffrey Todd Stiltner

PINEVILLE — Jeffrey Todd Stiltner, 34, of Charleston, formerly of Pineville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, in Carter County, Ky., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Feb. 23, 1972, in Logan County, he was the son of Kenneth Wayne and Wanda Cline Stiltner of Ramey Addition.

Jeffrey was a 1991 graduate of Pineville High School and the Wyoming County Vocational Technical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. Jeffrey enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, playing with his nephews and being with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Allen Stiltner and his wife, Amy, of Mullens; two nephews, Cole Stiltner and Carter Stiltner, both of Mullens; his companion, Jo Vaughan of Charleston; a special aunt, Dinah Wright of Oceana; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at Calfee Funeral Service, Pineville. Service will be private.

Bessie Atha Stover

Bessie Atha Stover, of Dameron, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at her home following a long illness. She was 83 years of age.

Carmela M. Taylor

Carmela M. Taylor, of Beckley, beloved wife of Charles Taylor and mother of Dr. Charles Taylor II, passed away following a long illness on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006.

She was the daughter of the late Vincent Ingaglio and Anna Marie Troiano.

Carmela loved spending time with her family and traveling. She was of the Catholic faith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Charles A. Taylor Sr., and son, Dr. Charles A. Taylor II of Beckley.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Serenity, 5250 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley. Entombment will follow.

Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, is in charge of arrangements.

Linda ‘Pinky’ Testerman

ROCK CAMP — Linda L. “Pinky” Testerman, 56, a native of Welch, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Union Rescue Squad, Union, W.V.

Amos Malcolm Tolliver

Amos Malcolm Tolliver, 80, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at home.

Born June 29, 1926, he was the son of the late William and Ollie Bailey Tolliver.

Amos was a 32nd degree mason and a member of Macdonald Warren Masonic Lodge No. 103, Mount Hope. He was a member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church and a retired coal miner.

In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by a brother, John Tolliver, and a sister, Margaret Meadows.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Selma Parrish Tolliver; a daughter, Paula Jo Tarazkiwiez and husband, Jan; a son, Gregory M. Tolliver and wife, Jodie; granddaughter, Emma Ann Tolliver; sister, Beatrice Farr; and brothers, Max Tolliver and wife, Joyce, and Lee Tolliver and wife, Brenda.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Bill Parker officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
