Antoinette P. Stump, 83, of 103 Hull St., Beckley, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at her home.
Born at Brooklyn, NY, on May 19, 1923, she was the daughter of Thomas and Angelina.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley.
Mrs. Stump had made Beckley her home since 1947.
Her husband, Edward Lee Stump, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Stump of Beckley, with whom she made her home; and a sister, Evelyn Glenn of St. Petersburg, Fla.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley, with Rev. Samuel Sacus as the Celebrant. A Rite of Committal will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. today at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, where a Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Stump, Basile Summers, A.D. Davis, Darrell Lafferty, Jan Lafferty, and Dave Lafferty.

William Earnest Wisen
William Earnest Wisen, of Mabscott Hill and Helen, passed away in his sleep Sunday morning, Dec. 17, 2006, at the Beckley VA Hospital.
William Wisen was born in Salzburg, Pa., of a poor Mennonite family and was one of 16 children.
His father was a Mennonite poultry farmer and his mother was Amish. His parents had immigrated from Germany because of lack of religious freedom.
Mr. Wisen enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1941 and was stationed at Camp Le Jeune, NC, and the Philippines. He served for four years and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant.
Following his military experience, he worked in the coal mines in southern West Virginia as a miner and then as a General Mine Foreman for Eastern Gas and Fuel Company. He was named “Running Bear” in the mine community because of his fast moving ability and concern for others in the mines. He retired from the mines 20 years ago and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Club, and VFW. Mr. Wisen raised a family of 11 children with his wife, the late Myrtle Faye Cox Wisen.
He is survived by his 11 children: his six daughters, Anne Viscarro, Mary K. Simpson, and Florence A. Lively, all of Durham, NC, Billie Faye Yager of Atlanta, Ga., and Brevard, NC, Bonnie E. McPeake of Pinehurst, NC, and Judith Ray of Lake Park, Ga.; five sons, William Gaston Wisen of Lake Park, Ga., Earnest Don Wisen, Richard Lee Wisen, and Frederick A. Wisen, all of Beckley, and William E. Wisen, Jr., of Durham, NC; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; special friend and caretaker, Beulah N. Bowers of Helen, and her children, Franklin Bowers, Geneva M. Cruey, Gary L. Bowers, James P. Bowers, and Dwight D. Bowers; and many friends and acquaintances also survive.
Mr. Wisen’s wishes were to donate his body to the Duke University Medical School, Durham, NC. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Chaplain James Trader officiating.

Drema Lee Worrell
PETERSTOWN — Drema Lee Worrell, 73, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, Fla.
She was born April 1, 1933, at Cornstalk, the daughter of the late William and Dora Suttle Harvey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Carl Harvey; a sister, Ruth McClung; a daughter; Elizabeth Worrell; and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Worrell.
Mrs. Worrell was employed at Celanese Corp., Narrows, Va., and attended First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Doug Worrell Sr.; three sons, Doug Worrell Jr. and wife, Diane, of Eggleston, Va., Ronnie Worrell and wife, Renee, of Bozoo and Tracy Worrell of Peterstown; a daughter, Theresa Cook and husband, Lewis, of Hinton; a brother, Earl Hanson of Ballard; five grandchildren and families, Kandace Gravely and Nick Strupe, Tina Gravely, Shanan Worrell, Kristin Cook, Kevin and Lexi Cook; and two great-grandsons, Odell Strupe and Braxton Cook.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with the Rev. George Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial cemetery, Clintonville.

Geneva Cline Walters
Geneva Cline Walters, 81, of Lynco, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, following a long illness.
Born July 14, 1925, at Wyoming County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Cline and Eva Blankenship Cline Breeding.
Mrs. Walters attended the Joseph Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and being with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Wallace Breeding; two brothers, Raymond and Jesse Cline; two sisters, Sadie Cole Sowards and Daisy Cline; and two daughters-in-law, Brenda Craft Walters and Deborah Sluss Walters.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Walters of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Kyle Walters and his wife Deloris of Oceana, and Jerry Walters of Sevierville, Tenn.; five grandsons, David, Scott, Brad, Patrick, and Timothy Walters; a granddaughter, Heather Roop; two great-grandsons, Jordan Thornsbury and Hunter Walters; and six great-granddaughters, Shawnda, MaKayla, Haley, and Aleyah Walters, Madison Wells, and Holly Roop.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Evans Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Milam officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.

LEWISBURG — Mary Susan Vaughan, 73, of Lewisburg, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, peacefully at her home in Lewisburg.
Ms. Vaughan was born March 15, 1932, at Harper Siding, and was the daughter of the late John Clyde and Mary Lynn Seldomridge Scott.
She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Gray and Janet Morgan; and a brother, Johnnie Scott.
Survivors include two daughters, Margie Scott and husband, Joe, of Manassas, Va., and Rita Sue Vaughan of Manassas; a son, Arnold Lee Vaughan and wife, Sarah, of Stafford, Va.; two sisters, Gail Morgan and husband, Norman, of Lewisburg and Arleen Tharp of Gap Mills; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Scott of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Debra Elaine Scott of Stuart, Fla., Lisa Renna Vaughan of Boston, Mass., Todd and wife, Toni Vaughan, of Bowling Green, Va., and Brian Travis Hanson of Manassas; three great-grandchildren, Jamie Vaughan, Hunter Vaughan and Chaylee Martin; longtime companion, Pete Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

Oakie W. Whitlow
PETERSTOWN — Oakie W. Whitlow, 82, of Peterstown, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg, Va.
Born Nov. 2, 1923, at Pigeon Creek, Mercer County, he was the son of the late Curtis and Elizabeth Bailey Whitlow.
Oakie was a retired employee of the Appalachian Power Plant, Glen Lyn, Va., where he had worked for over 37 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, where he served as a medic. Oakie was a member and served as trustee at Glen Lyn Baptist Church, and was a member of the Bozoo Ruritan Club. Oakie was a friend to each and everyone; he never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael “Mick” Whitlow, on June 10, 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Dent Whitlow; a daughter-in-law, Jayne Whitlow, and two granddaughters, Amanda and Katy Whitlow, all of Parkersburg; two brothers, Tony Whitlow and wife, Betty, of Elgood and Bud Whitlow and wife, Joyce, of Kellysville; two sisters, Beatrice Turner of Kellysville and Virginia Brown and husband, Bill, of Princeton; two sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Dent of Peterstown and Patsy Clyburn of Rich Creek; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with Pastor Joe Naylor and Rev. Jerry Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Peterstown cemetery.

Dolly was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Glen Jean.
She was preceded in death by two nieces, Miyako and Tomasa Allen.
