Jeannette Lewis Harvey
Jeannette Lewis Harvey, born Jeannette Lee Lewis, a long time resident of Beckley and former secretary of the Beckley Presbyterian Church from 1965 to 1992, passed away Dec. 23, 2005, at the age of 83 in Richmond, Va., after a short illness.
Survivors are two sons, Bruce G. Harvey of Medina, Ohio, and Douglas L. Harvey of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at the Beckley Presbyterian Church.
Katherine Elizabeth Hundley
FAYETTEVILLE —Katherine Elizabeth Hundley, 53, passed away at her home Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005.
Born Aug. 12, 1952, at Welch, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Christian and Gladys Rowe Christian of Union.
Katherine was a data processor for Fayette County National Bank.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Wyatt H. Hundley of Fayetteville; daughters, Rebecca Tenney of Beckley, and Teresa Shahan and her husband, James, of Germantown, Md.; sons, Buddy Tenney and his wife, Stephanie, of Tennessee, Lyle Tenney of Tennessee, and Michael Hundley of Fayetteville; two sisters, Ann Taylor and her husband, Paul, of Texas, and Sally Simms and her husband, Bill, of Bradshaw; two brothers, John Cornthwait and his wife, Sharon, of Richmond, Va., and Thomas Blevins and his wife, Betty, of Bluefield, and four grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ken Souder and Larry Humphreys officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 12 noon until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Betty C. Wright Martin
Betty C. Wright Martin, 76, of Barboursville, formerly of Beckley, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at the home of her daughter.
Born March 17, 1929, in Grandview, she was a daughter of the late James Hazzard and Mamie Goddard Wright.
A 1947 graduate of Shady Spring High School, Betty worked for 22 years at Beckley manufacturing and retired as a draftsman for Industrial Electric with 25 years of service. She was a member of the Grandview Christian Church and a 40-year member of the Beckley Women’s Bowling League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Keith Martin; and by two brothers and three sisters. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Bob McKinney of Barboursville; two sons: David Keith Martin of Nashville, Tenn., and his companion, Judi Sachs, and John Ray and Evelyn Martin of Hurricane; grandchildren: Debra K. Moon and husband, Mike, Brian C. McKinney, Alison Simpson and husband, Mark, Charles Martin and Derek Orren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ken Toler officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Ray ‘Bobby’ Martin
Robert Ray “Bobby” Martin, of Shady Spring, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, in the VA Medical Center, Beckley, following a long illness.
Born Oct. 14, 1948, at Camp Creek, he was the son of William Henry Martin and Rosa Lee Blackburn Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Robert Ray Martin Jr. of North Carolina; a daughter, Diana Lynn Martin of Bradley; sisters, Brenda Overcash of Charlotte, N.C., Margaret Miller of Beckley, Sandra Redden of Lanark, and Mary Lou Whipple of Concord, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Bragg of Bradley and Christopher Robert Martin of North Carolina.
He was dearly loved by Virginia Bragg of Shady Spring.
May he rest in peace and God be with him.
Committal service will be 2 p.m. today at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. David Epperson officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

Andrew J. Williams
It is with deep sorrow that the family advises of the passing of “Uncle Jack” Andrew Jackson Williams, 85, of Lake Placid, Fla. He was born Dec. 1, 1920, at Princeton, to the late John G.C. and Gertrude Williams.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jess W., R. Daymon and Herman R., and his sister, Dixie W. McCary. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Edward Guy (Tony) Graves Jr. of Lake Placid.
He lived with his nephew, Bob Graves, and Bob’s wife, Debbie, on Lake June, where he enjoyed the lake for the past eight years and was known to all as “Uncle Jack.”
He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force, piloted a B 17 in World War II, was a former POW, and later went on to retire from the F.A.A. as an air traffic control specialist.
After retiring from Miami and moving to Lake Placid in the late 1970’s, he split his time enjoying the Zenith Mountains of West Virginia and the friendly town of Lake Placid.
Uncle Jack embraced both the challenges and rewards of life and celebrated the beauty of God’s world. He especially loved flying and the opportunity it offered to touch the sky to be at one with infinity and with God. Uncle Jack was a brilliant man who also possessed the unique ability to find humor in every aspect of life. He will be deeply missed.
God bless you, Uncle Jack, as He welcomes you home at this most beautiful time of year.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. David Trump officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park cemetery, Beckley.

Lena Margaret Wilson, 90, of The Seasons, Lewisburg, formerly of Hinton, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at The Seasons following a long illness.
Born May 9, 1915, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Effie Jane Allen Vass.
Ms. Wilson was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hinton. She had been a resident of Lewisburg for the past 5 years.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Russell P. Wilson, on Oct. 26, 2000. She was also preceded by a son, Richard “Pete” Wilson; two sisters, Nell Harris and Gladys Utz; and two brothers, Rob and Ralph Vass
Survivors include two sons, Robert Wilson and wife, Deloris, of Washington, W.Va., and Gary Wilson and wife, Thelma, of Lewisburg; two daughters, Jane Gold and husband, Fred, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and Beverly Campbell and husband, Jim, of Parkersburg; a brother, Fred Vass and wife, Lil, of Hinton; two sisters, Mae Caldwell of Ravenswood and Mildred Saul of Belle. Thirteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.
The family would also like to thank the staff of The Seasons in Lewisburg for all they have done in caring for Lena.
