Edra Ruth Fleming

Edra Ruth Fleming, 66, of Route Three, Buckhannon, Lick Run Road, died Thursday, January 24, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, ending a difficult struggle with cancer.

She was born April 10, 1935, at Kanawha Head, a daughter of the late Loy A. and Opal M. Helmick Crawford.

Her husband, Hubert H. "Tommy" Fleming, whom she married December 20, 1953, survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dr. Hubert L. Fleming of Philadelphia, Pa.; one daughter-in-law, Pam Fleming of Glenmoore, Pa.; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gary Dean of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Jaime Fleming (a sophomore at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.), Megan Fleming (a freshman at West Chester College in West Chester, Pa.), and Amanda Fleming of Glenmoore, Pa.; two grandsons, Joshua Dean of Buckhannon and Ben Fleming of Glenmoore, Pa.; two stepgrandchildren, Jeff and Shelly Dean and their respective families; special neighbors and friends, Jim and Mavis Shiflett, Kevin Shiflett and family, and Lora Bryant and family; three brothers, Dr. French Crawford of Parkersburg, Kenneth Crawford of Kanawha Head, and Rev. Johnnie Crawford of Elyria, Ohio; two sisters, Kay Rumph of Elyria, Ohio, and Cosbie Fisher of Kanawha Head; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Escar Crawford; and one sister, Lydia Holbrook.

Mrs. Fleming loved to fish, knit, and watch NASCAR racing. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends. She was a Christian and attended Good Hope Tabernacle. She retired from the Upshur County School System after 31 years of service.
A funeral service was held Sunday, January 27, at noon, at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Holly J. Hoover and Rev. Johnnie Crawford officiating. Interment followed in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens.

Robert Turner Hall

Word has been received of the death of Robert Turner Hall in Columbia, Md.

Mr. Hall, 87, died January 5, 2002, as the result of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

He was born December 6, 1914, at Weston, a son of Lot and Myrtle Hall of Weston.

He is survived by one son, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hall retired after 28 years of service with Potomac Electric Company. He served in World War II for the entire duration of the war.

Delorise "Dee" Herrod

Delorise Jean "Dee" Herrod, 59, of Route Two, Salem, died at her home early Tuesday morning, January 22, 2002, following a brief illness.

She was born August 1, 1942, at Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Harry Herbert Lynch and Mrs. Juanita Junkins Taylor, who survives at Weston.

Her husband, Earnest W. Herrod, preceded her in death in February 1992.

Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, Ronald Wayne Herrod and his wife Darlene of Smithsburg, Md., and Christopher W. Herrod, at home; one daughter, Mrs. David (Terissa) Kelley of Salem; four brothers, Ronald Lynch of Salem, Harry David Lynch of Weston, Richard O. Lynch and his wife Betty of Jacksonville, Fla., and Terry Lee Lynch of Clarksburg; three sisters, Mrs. Willis (Arleta) Cumberledge of Jane Lew, Mrs. John (Margaret) Lowe of Salem, and Mrs. William (Kelsey) Cottrill of Weston; five grandchildren, Dustin Herrod, Jeremy Herrod, Tyler Herrod, Joshua Kelley, and Andrew Kelley.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Elizabeth Nicholas.

Mrs. Herrod was a Baptist and a homemaker.
A funeral service was held Saturday, January 26, at 1 p.m., at Greathouse Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Shawn Dahlheimer officiating. Interment followed in the K of P cemetery.

Jean J. Rearick

Jean J. Rearick, 65, of Ireland, formerly of Harmony, Pa., died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pa.

She was born January 9, 1937, at Harmony, Pa., a daughter of the late LeRoy A. and Myrtle Isabella Goehring Lintz.

Her husband, Howard D. Rearick of Ireland, whom she married in June 1956, survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Daniel M. Rearick of Evans City, Pa., James T. Rearick of New Castle, Pa., David R. Rearick of North Augusta, S.C., and Dale R. Rearick of Baden, Pa.; three brothers, David L. Lintz of Butler, Pa., John W. Lintz of New Castle, Pa., and Gerald D. Lintz of Rochester, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. George (Darlene) Keul of Ellwood City, Pa., and Mrs. Charles (Sandra Lee) Butteri of Pittsburgh, Pa.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Janet Lintz and Elizabeth Lintz.

Mrs. Rearick was a Jehovah's Witness. She retired as a nurse's aide at Evergreen Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Alkire Funeral Chapel of Ireland is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Evelyn M. Tenney

Evelyn M. Tenney, 69, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, January 26, 2002, at her home.

She was born July 27, 1932, at Tenmile, a daughter of the late Glenn and Vivia Tenney Tenney.

Surviving are one brother, Darrell Tenney of Grove City, Pa.; three sisters, Etta Herndon of Cairo, Louise Holbert of Akron, Ohio, and Olene Turner of Weston; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tenney enjoyed working puzzles, watching television, and reading books.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, with Pastor David Jessie officiating. Interment followed in the Big Bend cemetery.

Peggy Carol Thomas

Peggy Carol Thomas, 63, of Route One, French Creek, died at her home Saturday, January 26, 2002.

She was born July 5, 1938, at Shinnston, a daughter of the late Cecil and Blanche White Cheuvront.

Her husband, Raymond Thomas, preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Keith Saffle of Warren, Ohio; one daughter, Tracy Thomas Brunn of West Farmington, Ohio; one brother, Cecil Cheuvront of Aberdeen, Md.; two sisters, Marge Durish of Steubenville, Ohio, and Betty Wickham of Mingo Junction, Ohio; a special friend, George Woody of Route One, French Creek; and eight grandchildren.

Three brothers and one sister are also deceased.

Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and a Protestant.
A funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, January 30, at 1 p.m., at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home in French Creek, with Rev. David Jessie officiating. Burial will follow in the Waterloo cemetery.

Donnolly Villers

Donnolly Villers, 80, of Old Mill Road, Weston, Jordanville community, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2002, at West Virginia University Hospitals/Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, following a brief illness.

He was born July 7, 1921, at Weston, a son of the late Alexander and Diree Wilson Villers.

His wife, the former Garnet Virginia McCauley Donaldson, whom he married July 29, 1976, survives.

Also surviving are two stepsons, Bill Donaldson and Rick Donaldson, both of Mansfield, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Fred (Donna) Diehm of Mansfield, Ohio; two brothers, Joseph Villers of Akron, Ohio, and Alexander Villers of Hampton, Va.; eight stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Lilly; and two brothers, Kenneth Villers and Henry Villers.

Mr. Villers was a retired supervisor with Haney Oil and Gas. He had worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a graduate of Weston High School and attended West Virginia University and Glenville State College. He was a cattleman and farmer.
Friends will be received at Boyle Funeral Home Thursday, January 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 1, at the funeral home, with Rev. Clifford West officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Sara Diane Woods

Sara Diane Woods, 21, died Monday, January 28, 2002, at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, following a brief illness.

She was born December 14, 1980, at Weston, a daughter of Judith and David Woods of Weston.

Surviving in addition to her parents are one sister, Tracy Zachwieja of Charleston; one brother, Jason Woods of Weston; and three nephews.
Friends will be received at Boyle Funeral Home today, Wednesday, January 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, at the funeral home, with Rev. James Rader (uncle of Miss Woods) officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Craigsville. At the request of the family, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 2 Gateway Center, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15222.

Sharon J. Boggs

Sharon J. Boggs of 105 John Street in Weston died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, following an extended illness.

She was born October 20, 1950, the youngest daughter of the late Lena Lockard Boggs and Henry Gassaway Boggs.

Surviving are one son, Jason Berry of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia "Jenny" Hoard of Sand Run, Weston, and Janice Miller of Canton, Ohio; seven nieces and six nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Boggs of Diamond, Ohio.
There will be no funeral service.

Harold S. Daugherty

Harold S. Daugherty, 90, of Hansford, died July 22, 2002, at Montgomery General Elderly Care.

He was born at Gauley Bridge, a son of the late John and Evie Daugherty.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Daugherty; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Hoover of Buckhannon; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry S. and Maria Daugherty of Newport, N.C.; a brother, LeRoy Daugherty of Sciotoville, Ohio; a sister, Cledith Daugherty of New Mexico; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Daugherty retired from Alloy Chemical as a crane operator. He was a member of Kanawha Baptist Church in Hansford.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of funeral arrangements. Memorial donations in Mr. Daugherty's memory may be made to Kanawha Baptist Church, Hansford, WV 25103.

Mary Ettie Goodson

Mary Ettie Strader Goodson of Brandon, Fla., died Sunday, July 28, 2002.

She was born November 27, 1916, at Vandalia, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Cora A. (Forinash) Strader.

Her husband, Bernard Goodson, whom she married in 1944, preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Linda Levson of Florida, Bernard Goodson of North Carolina, Rilda Hefner of Texas, and June O'Neal of South Dakota; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Margie Burns of North Carolina.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Margie "Pat" Bennett and Nina Fraleigh; eight sisters and one brother.
At the request of the deceased, the body was cremated. A family graveside service will be held at a later date when the cremains are interred at the Vandalia cemetery.
