Leman Ware
Leman Ware, 100, of Shinnston, formerly of Haleville, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 16, 1904 in Hacker Valley, a son of the late James E. and Nancy Jane Fisher Ware.
On April 23, 1946 he married Opal Ware, who preceded him in death Dec. 21, 1987.
He is survived by one half-brother, Doyle Ware of Columbus, Ohio; one step-brother, Darrell Eubank of Columbus; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, William Wade Ware; and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Ware was a retired coalminer and member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Shinnston.
Service was Tuesday at Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Karl Wohine officiating.
Interment was in Machpelah cemetery.

Dakoda L. Weese
Dakoda Lee Koda Weese, 4, of Orefield, Pa., died Nov. 6, 2004 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was born Sept. 11, 2000 in Weston, a son of Roger Lee Weese Jr. and Michelle K. Alfred Weese.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Kaleb Allen Weese; maternal grandparents, Roger A. and Deborah A. Egolf of Allentown, Pa., and Stephen D. and Connie Alfred of Alum Bridge; maternal great-grandmother, Reita M. Bartholomew of Allentown; paternal grandparents, Roger Lee Weese Sr. and Evelyn J. Weese of Glenville; paternal great-grandmothers, Virgie Mae Johnson and Cloris Metz, both of Barberton, Ohio; aunt Missy Alfred and uncle Danny of Barberton; aunt Mel-Mel and uncle Larry of Weston, aunt Lori of Barberton, aunt Kathy and uncle Randy of Germansville, Pa., aunt Abby and uncle Joe of Schnecksville, Pa.; great-aunt, Stacie Kershner of Warner Robins, Ga., and several other aunts and uncles; cousins, Cayla Brookee, Hamburger, Jor-Jor and Tayar; second cousins, Kayla and Nathan; and best friends, Josh and Anne Marie.
Dakoda loved playing with his grandparents and enjoyed trucks, helicopters, airplanes, playing in his sand box, jumping in mud puddles and going for tractor rides. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and being a big brother.
Service was at Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Kaleb Allen Weese College Fund, c/o Roger and Deborah Egolf, 2346 Wehr Mill Rd., Allentown, PA 18104.

Dolores J. Wilson
Dolores Jean Wilson, 66, of Weston died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Clarence Lee Lester and Edna Mae Radcliff Lester.
She is survived by one daughter, Deanna L. Carver of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters, Pauline Sharpe and husband William of Weston, Gloria Kemper and husband Willis of Buckhannon and Carolyn Gum and husband Joseph of Jane Lew; two brothers, Shirley Clarence Lester of Weston and Harold F. Lester of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Ian B. Carver and James M. Carver II.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Daniel Cayton; and one sister, Sylvia Ann Lester.
Mrs. Wilson retired as payroll supervisor with William R. Sharpe Hospital with 36 years of service. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church.
The body was cremated. Private service will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peoples Hospice, P.O. Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
Boyle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Paul E. Brown
Paul E. Brown, 60, of Charleston died at 10:07 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005 at his home following an extended illness with cancer.
He was born in Charleston on Jan. 14, 1945, a son of Thelma M. Davis Brown of Weston and the late Lawrence E. Brown.
On Jan. 5, 2001, he married the former Mary Frances Pritt Smith, who survives.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Scott Douglas Brown and wife Melissa of Pittsburg, Kan.; three grandchildren, Keegan, Quinn and Caydon Brown; two sisters, Catherine Griffin and Elizabeth Ferrell, both of Weston; two step-sons, Charles "CB" Smith and wife Amy of Richmond, Va., and Terry Smith of McLean, Va.
Mr. Brown was employed as a mechanical engineer, structural draftman and design engineer with Moody and Laderer Inc. of Pittsburg, Kan., for five years. He later was employed with McNally, Inc. of Pittsburg for 25 years and then Ferro Products Inc. of Charleston as a structural draftman for five years.
He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church in South Charleston and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve from 1966 to 1971 and was a member of the American Legion in Pittsburg, Kan.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Mark Riley, Fr. John McDonnell and Fr. Jeremiah McSweeney officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Boyle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Melba L. Gaston
Melba Louise Gaston, 87, of Columbus, Ohio died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Bennington Glenn Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1917 in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Arvil Spicer and Susan Pratt.
She is survived by two sons, Charles R. (Carole) Gaston and Jerry W. (Kathy) Gaston; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Gaston; one sister, Norma Popovich; nine grandchildren, Marsha Simmons, David L. Gaston Jr., Michael Gaston, Susie Gaston, Barbara Dick, Robert (Bobby) Gaston, Timothy Gaston, Kodi Asman and Eric Gaston; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Gaston; one son, David L. Gaston; one sister, Jean Thompson; and one brother, Kenneth Lemasters.
She was retired from Gold Circle Department Stores.
Service was Tuesday at Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, with Rev. Ann Crawford officiating. Burial was in Broad Run cemetery.

Judith A. Nissel
Judith Ann Leavengood Nissel, 55, of Weston died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, following a sudden illness.
She was born June 29, 1949 in Ravenna, Ohio, a daughter of the late Gerald Woodrow Leavengood and Ruth June (Ketzell) Leavengood.
On March 21, 1976, she married Larry Michael Nissel, who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1992.
She is survived by two daughters, Shannon Nissel of Lost Creek and Kristina Nissel of Burnsville; three grandchildren, Sarah Kay Nissel, Dalton Shane Butcher and Peyton Rae Butcher, all of Burnsville; one brother, Chester Leavengood of Ravenna; one niece, Jennifer Hardy of Kent, Ohio; one nephew, Dan Leavengood of Ravenna; one great-niece, Erika Leavengood of Kent; and one great-nephew, Joseph Hardy of Kent.
Mrs. Nissel was a homemaker and a Methodist. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses and hummingbirds.
Service was Friday at Oil Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Mitchell officiating. The body was cremated.
Boyle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lowell T. Rollyson
Lowell T. Rollyson, 65, of Barberton, Ohio, died April 25, 2005.
He was born April 10, 1940.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty Ann Rollyson; son, Doug Rollyson; daughters, Mary Joyce Rollyson and Tammy (Artie) McCutchen; step-sons, Brian, Eric, Thomas and Marc Mohler; grandchildren, Tara, Bradley and Melanie; sister, Betty Sheperd; niece, Dixie Rollyson; and mother-in-law, Vada McNeal.
Burial will take place in Weston.
Cox Funeral Home, Barberton, provided information.

Ruth H. Wright
Ruth Hoover Wright, 77, of Nella's Nursing Home of Elkins, formerly of Weston, died at 5:45 p.m. on April 20, 2005 at the nursing home following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 7, 1927 in Glenville, a daughter of the late George W. and Mary G. Hoover.
On June 29, 1968 she married Stanley Richard Wright, who survives.
In addition, she is survived by a step-son, Rick Wright and wife Sharon of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Lesley (Wright) Slaughter and husband Jason of Buckhannon and Ashley (Wright) Avington and husband Justin of Weston; five great-grandchildren, Shelby and Sidney Slaughter of Buckhannon and Connor and Mallory Avington and Isaac Wright of Weston; two nieces and two nephews, Mary Smith of Glenville, Mary Jane Moss, Bill Butler and Michael Butler; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother, Myrtle Wanstreet, Harry Hoover, Josie Butler, Loretta Hite, Alma Batten and Blanch Isabelle; and one niece, Ann Moss.
Mrs. Wright was retired from the West Virginia Glass Factory. She was an avid bowler and was very loving. She was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ of Weston.
Memorial service will be April 27 at the Church of Christ in Weston with Rev. Roy Pratt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Blanchette-Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute, PO Box 9301, Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506 for Alzheimer's research.
At her request, the body was donated to West Virginia University.

Elizabeth Farrell
Elizabeth Wilcox Farrell, 67, of Weston, died on April 22, 2005 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born on October 13, 1937, in Madison, Wis., a daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Wilcox of Leesburg, Va.
She is survived by one son Donald Farrell and wife of Lehartsville, Pa.; two daughters Nannette Littlejohn and husband of Serverna Park, Md., Rosanna Duggan and husband of Purcellville, Va.; six grandchildren, Jessie and Sarah Farrell of Bethlehem, Pa., Lindasay, Aaron, and Avery Littlejohn of Serverna Park, and Quinn Duggan of Purcellville.
Ms. Farrell retired from Wm. R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital, where she worked as an Associate Professor through the Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry of West Virginia University. She was a life-long advocate for the mentally ill. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the WV Chapter of the National
Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the WV Chapter of the National Organization for Women. She earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from the University of Maryland. She also earned a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University's School of Social Work in Washington, D.C.
A memorial service will be held at the Lewis County Emergency Squad at 1:30 p.m. on April 30, 2005.
At the request of Ms. Farrell, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Lewis County Senior Center Transportation Fund, Lewis County Emergency Squad, Our Neighbor, and Adopt a Friend.

Leslie Marks
Leslie Thorn Marks, 41, of Salem died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born Feb. 4, 1964, the son of the late Gary Allen Marks and Arleena Smith Marks of Lost Creek.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a companion, Lorie Golden of Salem; two sons, Cody Marks and Justin Marks of Salem; two daughters, Jessica Marks and Christine Marks of Salem; one brother, Robert Marks and wife Ruby of Lost Creek; maternal grandmother, Lillian Smith of Lost Creek; niece, Ashley Marks and nephew, Eric Marks of Lost Creek; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Bethune Marks.
Mr. Marks was a member of the W.Va. National Guard at Clarksburg. He had made two trips to Honduras, graduated from South Harrison High School in 1983, and worked for Judal Glass Factory at Salem for 15 years as a glass grinder.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Morris Funeral Home. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Ben DeLong officiating. Burial will be in Weston Masonic cemetery.

Lyle Edward Berg
Lyle Edward Berg, 77, of 76 Wymer Road, Jane Lew, died Monday, August 15, 2005 at Nella's Nursing Home in Elkins.
He was born at McWhorter November 17, 1927 a son of the late Ellis Edward and Gertrude Reel Berg. He was married to Mary Jean Barb Berg who survives.
In addition to his wife are two daughters, Marilee and husband James Rinehart of Jane Lew, and Melissa and husband Joe Bargerhuff of Jane Lew; one son, Tim Berg; seven grandchildren, Amanda Berg of Weston, Ashley Berg of Weston, Letitia Rinehart Snider of Weston, Cody Rinehart of Jane Lew, Sheena Berg of Jane Lew, Presley Fallon of Jane Lew, and Kiana Jo Bargerhuff of Jane Lew; two great grandchildren, Austin Snider of Weston and Jayleigh Berg of Weston; one brother, Gerald Berg of Parkersburg; and one sister, Pauline Allman of Jane Lew.
Preceding him in death was: two daughters, Carrollee and Debbie; one grandson, Jamey; one brother, Henry Basil Berg; one sister, Loise Kolb.
Mr. Berg worked in the coal mines, and Meadow Gold Dairy with 30-years of service, and retired from Bennett Firestone of Weston. He belonged to Broad Run Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, Thursday afternoon from 4 to 7. Service was held at Morris Funeral Home at 7 p.m. the same day. Rev. Richard Brown assisted by Rev. William Coffindaffer officiated. By request of the family, Mr. Berg was cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family at 76 Wymer Road, Jane Lew, WV 26378.
