Sandra Lee Freeman
Sandra Lee Freeman, 67, of Jane Lew died on Monday, October 17, 2005 in United Hospital Center of Clarksburg following an extended illness.
She was born in Michigan on October 14, 1938: daughter of the late Jay Lloyd and Flora (Woods) Lloyd.
Mrs. Freeman was first married to Robert Whitehead, who preceded her in death, she then married Ralph Freeman, who also preceded her in death on March 29, 1995.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by three sons: John Freeman of Jane Lew, Raymond Watts and Robert Watts of Michigan; three daughters: Janie Evans, Sandy Whitehead and Laurie Smith all of Michigan. She is also survived by four brothers: Jim Lloyd, Tom Lloyd, Ed Vandusen, and Frank Spencer; one sister Norma Graves; six granchildren: Chase Freeman, Jeremy and Vanessa Evans, Whisper and Jason Smith, and Shawna Whitman; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Evangelistic Mission of West Milford.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home on Friday, October 21. Funeral services were held on Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Lanham officiating. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Catherine Laboure Hanks
Catherine Laboure Hanks, 68, of Rt. 1, Orlando died at 1:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2005 in the Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, VA following a brief illness.
She was born April 28, 1937 in Washington, D.C. a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Teresa Victoria Fitzpatrick McMahon.
On January 10, 1959 she married Jerry A. Hanks who died July 13, 1993.
Surviving are one daughter Monica Casker of Danville, VA and four sons Raymond Hanks of Orlando, Jerry Hanks of Raleigh, NC, Kevin Hanks of Columbus, OH, and Stephen Hanks of Richmond, VA; and six grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Mrs. Hanks was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston and was a homemaker.
Friends may call at the Boyle Funeral Home of Weston Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12 noon from the St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Reverend Fr. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant. Interment will follow in the WV National cemetery at Pruntytown.
Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday from the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

Anna Colvin Blair Hinzman
Anna Colvin Blair Hinzman, 87, of 651 Court Avenue, Weston died at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness.
She was born February 20, 1918 in Jane Lew a daughter of the late Charles E. and Freda Mae Stalnaker Colvin.
She was twice married, first in November of 1940 she married Robert C. Blair, Jr. who died September 9, 1971, then in 1975 she married C. Thomas Hinzman who survives.
Also surviving are one son Robert C. Blair II of Bluefield, one daughter Peggy Ann Cantley of Beckley. Four grandchildren Anna Marie and husband Abraham Lilly of Athens, James Robert and wife Shsha Cantley of Ghent, Lori Lynn and husband Joseph Eaton of Charlotte, NC, and Kristi Lynn and husband Jason Rutherford of Union, KY. Great grandchildren Garrett, Caleb and Alex. One sister Serena Tomaschko of Clarksburg.
She was preceded in death by four brothers James, Cline, William, and Ken Colvin and two sisters Freda Ralston and Mary Lowman.
Mrs. Hinzman was employed for several years at Montgomery Ward, Weston and later in Fairmont, she retired as manager at Ashley Outlet, Weston with several years of service.
She was a member of the Theresa Snaith Auxiliary (SJMH), Chamber of Commerce 12 years, Secretary Retail Board two years. She was a graduate of Jane Lew High School Class of 1936.
She was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
Friends were received at the Boyle Funeral Home in Weston on Sunday. Funeral services were held on Monday from the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Rupert Evans officiating. Interment followed in the Machpelah cemetery.

Virginia M. Holliday
Virginia M. Holliday, 25, of 40 Marian Street, Buckhannon died at 9:57 Saturday, October 22, 2005 as a result of an auto accident on I-79.
She was born July 14, 1980 a daughter of Richard A. Holliday of Cleveland, Ohio and Mary Willis Holliday of Washington State.
Surviving are two daughters Kayla and Lauren Justice; two brothers Jason and Jameson Holliday and two sisters Shelley Holliday and Cheryl Pifher.
Ms. Holliday was employed at Skidmore's Truck Stop in Flatwoods.
The body was cremated and returned to Cleveland, Ohio for burial.

Ruby Jean Lowther
Ruby Jean Lowther, 77, of Ireland died Tuesday, October 18 at her residence.
She was born in Copen on December 11, 1927: daughter of the late Wirt Smith and Violet (McCray) Smith.
On December 11, 1947 she married Carl M. Lowther who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Sharon Allman and husband Sonny of Crawford, William Lowther of Wildcat, Retha Craig and husband Ronnie of Walkersville, and Sandra Singleton and husband Gerald of Ireland; 11 grandchildren: Amber Allman Wright, Brad Allman, Kristi Lowther Gannon, Billy Lowther, Kim Bosely, Kaye Hewitt, Dennis Snapp, Connie Craig Simmons, Jared Singleton, Jill Singleton and Tracey Willett; 14 great grandchildren; one brother William D. Smith of Bealton, VA; three sisters: Elsie Steerman of Harrington, DE, Madeline Eckes of Buckhannon, and Virginia Ellis of New Castle, DE.
Preceding her in death were one daughter Karla; two brothers H. Kemp Smith and Gayle Smith; and one sister Mary Lee Collins.
Mrs. Lowther was a homemaker. She was a member of the Elijah Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Shamrock CEOS and a former member of the Walkersville Rebekah Lodge.
Friends were received at the Alkire Funeral Chapel of Ireland on Friday, October 21. Funeral services were held on Saturday with the Reverend Doug Smailes and Reverend Tom Merril officiating. Interment followed in the Lowther cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to United Peoples Hospice, PO Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26302 or American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research, 2428 Kanawha Boulevard, East, Charleston, WV 25311.

Vesta G. Wilson
Vesta G. Wilson, age 90, passed away Monday, October 17, 2005, at her home in Rock Cave.
She was born March 24, 1915, a daughter of the late James H. and Eva Florence Long.
She was married to Charles Robert Wilson who preceded her in death.
She was the beloved mother of seven children: Richard Lynn Wilson and James O. Wilson, who preceded her in death, Barbara K. Wilson of Cleveland, OH; Ronald G. Wilson and wife Janet of Buckhannon; David A. Wilson of Weston; Charles W. Wilson and wife Judy, of Weston; and Deborah A. Wilson of Cleveland, OH. Also surviving is one sister, Frena Samples and husband Everett of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by one brother James Junior Long, and his wife Reta Long, who survives in Buckhannon. She will also be sadly missed by special friends, Agnes Kessler and Josephine Orlowski. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Jay Wilson, Maureen (Wilson) Buck, Donald Alan Wilson, Roberta (Loudin) Bosak, Richard Alan Loudin, Kim Swim, Lisa Vey (Wilson) Posey, David A. Wilson, Jr., Charles Seth Wilson, Leigh Ann Wilson, John Reynolds and Jacinta Reynolds and numerous great grandchildren.
Vesta was actively involved in many civic church and community organizations in Upshur County, including Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church, Charter director of Tri-County Health Clinic, Charter member of Banks District Fire Department Auxiliary, Charter member of Upshur County Fair, Sixty year charter member of Rock Cave CEOS, Past Matron and member of the Aletha Chapter #82 order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.) and a member of the Arlington Social Club, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #7, Southern Upshur County Business Assn. (SUBA) and a charter member of Friends of Fidler’s Mill. She received the WV Division of Culture and History “Hero” Award in 2001. In 1989 she received SUBA’s Citizen of the Year Award.
Mrs. Wilson attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and taught school for eighteen years. She taught in the last one-room school in Upshur County. She was a member of the West Virginia and Upshur County Retired Teachers Associations and thoroughly loved teaching school. She will be greatly missed and remain in the hearts of all who loved her and whose lives she touched.
Friends were received at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Mrs. Wilson was moved to the Wilson Chapel UM Church on Friday, where services were held at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Sue Lowther, Rev. Vicki Shephard and Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Interment followed in the Wilsontown cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Wilson Chapel UM Church or the Banks District VFD in care of Susie Bender at P.O. Box 67, Rock Cave, WV 26234.

Richard Todd Alderman
Richard Todd Alderman, 54, of Route 2 Jane Lew died on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Weston on June 21, 1951: son of the late William Alderman and Margaret Posey Alderman of the Jackson's Mill community.
He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Call Alderman.
Mr. Alderman is survived by two daughters Kristie Litton of Winchester, VA and Ericka Alderman of Jane Lew; one son Richard Todd Alderman of Jane Lew; two grandchildren Alyssa Alderman and Kaitlyn Litton; two brothers William Alderman of Jackson's Mill and Michael Skidmore of Columbus, OH; three sisters Judy Buckhannon of Flatwoods, Connie Riffle of Brushy Fork, and Becky Lowther of Walkersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alderman was preceded in death by one brother Randy Alderman and Woodford and Naomi Skidmore, who raised him.
Mr. Alderman was a mechanic.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Thursday, November 17. Funeral services were also held on Thursday. Interment followed in the Machpelah cemetery of Weston.

Carolyn S. Dodd
Carolyn S. Dodd, 62, of Jackson's Mill died Saturday, November 19, 2005 at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was born October 5, 1943 in West Virginia, a daughter to the late Harry and Janie Collins.
She was preceded in death by her husband 1st Sgt. Retired Millard L. Dodd who died on May 14, 1997.
Surviving are three sons: Thomas Brian Carmichael of VA, Billy Lee Carmichael of WV, and Edwin Wayne Carmichael of WV; two daughters: Patricia Ann Majors of Elkton, KY and Melissa Lynn Pratt of SC; two step-sons: Mark Dodd and Steven Dodd of CA; four step-daughters: Louise Dodd, Vicki Dodd, Michelle Dodd, and Linda Dodd, all of CA; one sister Sonya Eileen Ramsey of Pennsboro, WV; two brothers: Bill Collins and Charles Collins, both of Pennsboro, WV; and one half-brother Ronnie Bonner of Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by one son, Darrell William Carmichael and one half-brother, Tommy Bonner.
Mrs. Dodd was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Friends may call at the Floyd Funeral Home of Weston on Wednesday, November 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles R. Burnside, Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the West Virginia National cemetery in Pruntytown.

Frances Mahalia Harris
Frances Mahalia Harris, 53, of 110 Sugar Street, Weston died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2005 in the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following an extended illness.
She was born February 6, 1952, in Weston, a daughter of the late William Henry and Regena Mae Brown Settles.
On September 1, 1973 she married Dana Eugene Harris who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters: Jeannie Harris, Peggy Burkhammer and husband Mike, Carol Ann Goldsmith and husband Kenny, and April Harris, all of Weston; nine grandchildren; four brothers: Johnny Settles and Joe Parmer, both of Weston, Ray Parmer of Jane Lew and Ed Parmer of Clarksburg; one sister Billie Jean Annas of Washington State.
She was preceded in death by one brother Glendale Parmer.
Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and attended Miles Chapel United Methodist Church.
Friends were received at the Boyle Funeral Home of Weston on Friday, November 18. Funeral services were held on Friday with Rev. Martin Wine officiating. Interment followed in the Harris cemetery on Bloddy Run.

Leona Beatrice Heater
Leona Beatrice Heater, 88, of 298 Valley Chapel Road, Weston died at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness.
She was born December 31, 1916 in Braxton County a daughter of the late Newton and Virginia Riffle.
She was preceded in death by her husband Coleman Albert Heater who died January 3, 1985.
Surviving are two sons: Earl Thomas Heater of Oregon, NM and Winfred Charles Thompson of Fredericksburg, MD; four daughters: Erma Lou Bounds of Cross Junction, VA, Brenda Sue Webb of Weston, Sarah Bell Scott of Creed, CO, and Marsha Louise Conrad of Camden; one sister Lovie Bush of Sutton; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Heater was a homemaker and was a loving a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Friends were received at the Boyle Funeral Home of Weston on Sunday, November 20. Funeral services were held Monday from the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Julius Bounds officiating.
Interment followed in the Weston Masonic cemetery.
