Joseph Elzy Oldaker
Joseph Elzy Oldaker, 93, passed away Dec. 9, 2005, at Nella's Nursing Home, Elkins.
Joseph was born on July 8, 1912, in Clarksburg, Harrison County, the son of Lowery Elzy and Willie Lawson Oldaker.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Frances Oldaker Beeson; two brothers, William Bailey Oldaker and David Lynn Oldaker, Sr.; and one nephew, David Lynn Oldaker, Jr.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Geneva Oldaker Taylor of Rock Cave; and one brother, Edward Lawson Oldaker of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews, including Kathleen Sue Rymeski of Portland, Oregon; Lisa Palmer of Grafton, Mass., Bradley R. Oldaker of Weston, Philip and Michael Oldaker, both of Buckhannon, Stephen Oldaker of Texas, Joseph Beeson of Jefferson, MD; one step-nephew, Richard R. Hawkins of Mooreville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Lois Westfall Oldaker and Marie Jones Oldaker of Buckhannon; and one brother-in-law, Roy G. Taylor of Rock Cave.
Joe graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1930. He later attended WV Wesleyan College where he starred in track and tennis. He received many sports awards, including being inducted into the WV Wesleyan Sports Hall of Fame. He was given the WV College Athletic Association Award as the all-time tennis player and Outstanding Alumni of the Year Award by WV Wesleyan College.
He bought the Acme Book Store from Hack Humphries and operated it for many years until he retired. He never married, but took care of his mother until her death in 1968. He then sold her house on Smithfield Street and moved to 207 Randolph St., where he lived for over 20 years and moved when he was no longer able to take care of himself. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Joe served in the U.S. Army in World War II with the 3609th Quartermaster Truck Company. He served in England, France and Germany and was in the Battle of the Bulge. His company had a reunion every two years and Joe attended many of them, including hosting one in Buckhannon.
He was a sports devotee and gave financial support to WV Wesleyan College and to many of the basketball players. He loved to fish and hunt and fished in many states and in Canada. He made many trips to visit his brother, Ed, in Arizona where they fished in the White Mountains.
A memorial date will be held for Joe at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church at a later date.
Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecil Pugh, Jr.
Cecil Pugh, Jr., 73, of 2203 U.S. Hwy 33 East, Glenville died at 12:58 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005 in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an sudden illness.
He was born July 6, 1932 at Diana, Webster County; a son of the late Cecil Hansford Pugh and Genevieve Davis Pugh.
On March 13, 1952 he married the former Mary Loretta Workman who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven Ray Pugh of Smithsburg, MD and Terry Lynn Pugh of North Fort Myers, Florida; two grandchildren Elissa Mae Pugh of Nashville, Tennessee and Loretta Lynn Lattea of Weston; two great grandchildren Chrislyn and Christopher Curtis, both of Churchville; four sisters, Marjorie Harrison of Sodonia, Georgia, Doris Jordan of Cleveland, WV, Sharon McCartney of Webster Co., and Mary Ellen Arbogast of Lynn, Massachusetts.
Mr. Pugh was retired from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of service and was a Jehovah Witness.
At the request of the deceased, the body was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Charles Edward Riffle
Charles Edward Riffle, 57, of Glenville died Monday, December 5, 2005, at 7:20 p.m. in Cedarville following a sudden illness.
He was born June 13, 1948, in Jane Lew, a son of the late Elzie Buren and Ella Mae Warner Riffle.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Grace Riffle of Buckhannon; one daughter, Roxanne "Rocky" Ellis of Bridgeport; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Elzie James and Sharon Riffle of Glenville and William Junior Riffle of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Samuel Ellis, Todd Ellis, and Brice Andrew Ellis all of Bridgeport; companion and former wife Betty Riffle of Cedarville, TX; six step-daughters, seventeen step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Marie Riffle.
Charles enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing bluegrass music. He was Methodist by faith and attended Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Cedarville, WV. Friends were received Friday at the Boyle Funeral Home of Weston. Funeral services were held Saturday with the Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Interment follwed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Clifford Lee Williams
Clifford Lee Williams, 79, of 34 Gay Street, Weston died at 6:25 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2005 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness.
He was born in Lewis County on September 8, 1926: son of the late Henry Lee Williams and Mary Virsie (Henline) Williams.
On February 15, 1948, he married Patty Ann (Harter) Williams, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Vicki Jo (Williams) Spicer of Weston, one son and daughter-in-law, Dale Lee Williams and wife Aleece (McKnight) Williams of Buckhannon, one brother, Kenneth Brooks Williams of Texas, and two sisters, Ethel Maxine Cooper of Ohio and Loretta Dare Harbert of Jane Lew. Mr. Williams is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Justin Lee Williams, Casendra Moneypenny, Jasmine Hawkins, and Camilo Aguiar, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant brother Charles Martin Williams.
Mr. Williams was a retired vocational instructor with Tri-County Vocational School of Buckhannon. He owned Williams and Son Machine Shop, where he was a welder and mechanic and owned Williams Trailer Sales. He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston. He was a graduate of Victory High School of Clarksburg, Class of 1945. Mr. Williams was a veterean of WWII, serving as a corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Jane Lew Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Williams was also a member of the Lewis County Emergency Squad, Lightburn International Order of Odd Fellows, Jane Lew Lions Club, and Jane Lew American Legion Post # 166.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Sunday, December 11. Funeral services were held on Monday with Rev. Clifford West officiating. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Jane Lew Fire Department stood as Honor Guard at the funeral home and provided honors at the cemetery assisted by the Weston Fire Department.

Isabella Shawnee Bennett
Isabella Shawnee Bennett, infant, of Lost Creek, departed this life at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2005 in the United Hospital Center.
She is the daughter of Arlie Satterfield of West Milford and Michele Bennett of Lost Creek.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Brent, Lacey, Amber, Desirae, Tara and Justin; maternal grandparents, Barbara Wilcox of Jane Lew, and Thomas Bennett of Wierton; paternal grandparents are the late John and Mary Satterfield.
There is no visitation. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 23, 2003 in the United Evangelistic Mission Church at West Milford with the pastor William Lanham presiding. Interment followed in the Rose Hill cemetery of West Milford.

George William Davis II
George William Davis II, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at home. He was 49.
Mr. Davis was born in Paris, France. He was a lifelong resident of Crystal River, Florida. He moved to the Buckhannon area 11 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his brother Cecil Wayne Davis, Jr.
Survivors include his parents, Cecil and Mary Davis of Florida; two daughters, Kim and husband Ron of Buckhannon, and Nicole and husband Raymond, of Weston; two sons, "Skip" of Buckhannon, and Derek and wife Angie of Buckhannon; three sisters, Cindy of Florida, Becky Smith and husband Dolan of Florida, and Jenny Gubbins and husband Jeff of Florida; one brother, Jeff Davis and wife Christine of Florida; five grandchildren, Bo, Courtney, Katie, Cheyenne and Dakota; several nieces and nephews.
He was a production manager and Southern Baptist by faith.
Funeral services will be held at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington. Call for information. Burial will be at Lovett Chapel cemetery in Belington (Audra area).

Carolyn Keith Hileman
Carolyn Keith Hileman, 62, of Rt. 1, West Union, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, in the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following a brief illness.
She was born July 24, 1943 in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Brooks and Marie Mick Keith.
On April 10, 1999 she married Ray Hileman who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Lynette Niday Johnson and husband Kelvin of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother Gary Keith of New Martinsville and sisters Mrs. Charles (Delores) Villers of Weston and Frances Blankenship of Buckhannon; grandchild, Ebony Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hileman was employed as a secretary with W.T. Weber Law Office and was Methodist by faith.
She enjoyed country music.
Friends were received at the Floyd Funeral Home on Monday. Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Clifford West officiating. Interment followed in the Hart-Hileman cemetery.

Emil L. Price, Sr.
Emil L. Price, Sr., 81, of Buffalo Lake Road, Lost Creek, departed this life Wednesday morning, Dec. 21, 2005, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
He was born in Boone County, on March 31, 1924, a son of the late Hayes Lee Price and Dora Pearl Browning Price.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Virginia Fisher Price, on July 10, 1996.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Emil L. "Pete" Price, Jr. and wife Norma of Jane Lew; sister, Lorraine Hampton, Martisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dayton Price and one sister, Gladys Barnes.
Mr. Price was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 573, Clarksburg. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force. Mr. Price was a pilot of the B_24 Liberator and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal and the Victory Medal.
Mr. Price previously worked as a new and used automobile salesman.
Friends were received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home on Friday.
At Mr. Price's request, he will be cremated following the visitation.

Edith Pauline Shackleford
Edith Pauline Shackleford, 82, of 715 Cliff Street, Weston, died at 2:53 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, in the United Hospital Center of Clarksburg following a brief illness.
She was born May 20, 1923 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Robert Emmit and Lucy Jane McCord Jeffries.
On July 30, 1948 she married Robert Lee Shackleford who survives.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert James Shackelford and wife Lois of Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania; and one daughter and son-in-law, Judith Ann Haught and husband Glenn of Lexington, South Carolina; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and one brother, James "Clem" Jeffries of Flatwoods.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Shackleford was Baptist by faith and has been employed at the WV Glass Specialty Co. in the Decorating Department.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved to garden and raise flowers.
Friends were received at the Boyle Funeral Home of Weston on Tuesday. Funeral services were held from the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday following visitation with the Reverend Martin Wine officating. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Anthony Patrick Teskey
Anthony Patrick "Tony" Teskey, 57, of 860 Walnut Ave., Weston, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 4, 1948 in Weston, a son of the late Jesse Blanche Helmick Teskey and Anthony F. Teskey who survives in Weston.
He was preceded in death by his wife Amila Teskey.
Surviving are lifelong friends John and Linda Shock of Jane Lew.
Mr. Teskey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Weston and was retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service.
Friends were received at the Boyle Funeral Home on Tuesday. Funeral services were held on Tuesday following visitation with Deacon Ronnie Barnette officiating.
Interment will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at the WV National cemetery at Grafton with full military honors.

Thomas Paul Anderson
Thomas “Tom” Paul Anderson, age 39, of Rock Cave, died January 4, 2006 at Sago, WV.
A son of David Anderson of Hacker Valley and the late Dessie Fisher Anderson.
He was united in marriage on April 5, 1991 to Lynda Hyre Anderson who survives.
He is also survived by sons, Thomas Issac Anderson at home, Randy W. Liggett and wife Jena of Rock Cave, Mitchell A. Liggett and wife Stephanie of Buckhannon.
He is also survived by grandchildren Sarah, Bradely, Jesseka and Caleb Liggett.
He is also survived by his grandmother, Alma Anderson of Hacker Valley.
He is survived by four brothers, Wayne and wife Earlene Anderson of Hacker Valley, Rich and wife Tammy Anderson of French Creek, Jeff and wife Donna Anderson of Kanawha Head and Bill and wife Bernica Davis of Mill Creek, WV, one sister, Peggy and husband Ron Quinn of Hacker Valley, WV six nephews, Adam, Michael, Aaron, Ken, David and Hunter. Several aunts and uncles survive.
He was preceded in death by one son, Caleb Paul Anderson, his paternal grandfather, Paul Anderson and maternal grandparents, Lester and Fanny Fisher.
Tom was a wonderful husband and father, he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and fishing and he was a Christian by faith. He attended the Church of God in Lewis County.
Friends were received at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Sunday from 3-9 PM. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the funeral chapel with Pastor Randy Hughs officiating. Following services in Buckhannon, the body was moved to the Hacker Valley Baptist Church for services at 1:00 PM. Interment followed in the Ware cemetery in Webster County.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Central Bank for Thomas I. Anderson's savings account.
