Carl Ronald Millhoff
Carl Ronald Millhoff, 78, of 143 Second Street, Jane Lew, died at 11:59 p.m. on January 22, 2006, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown.
He was born September 1, 1927, at Barberton, Ohio, the son of the late Ronald and Julia Woods Millhoff.
He was married in 1952 at Mohigan Lake, New York, to Ella Louise McCall who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Millhoff and wife Barbara of Murphysboro, Illinois, and Kenneth C. Millhoff of Jane Lew; one daughter, Jean Sepulveda of Staunton, VA, one sister, Dorothy Miller of Almagorda, New Mexico, four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Mr. Millhoff had worked for the space program, GE, Raython, was in the Merhcant Marines and was Catholic by faith. He was an electrical engineer. He and his wife owned and operated Jane Lew Nursery.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home of Jane Lew on Friday, January 27. Funeral services were also held Friday with Rev. Father William A. Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the Weston Masonic cemetery.

Rosetta M. Murphy
Rosetta M. Riley Cogar Murphy, 56, of 401 John Street, Weston died at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, January 29, 2006, in the United Hospital Center of Clarksburg following an extended illness.
She was born February 14, 1950, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Clarence Riley and Delcia Gregory Riley Cogar.
On November 14, 1983, she married Tommy E. Murphy, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph Riley of Flatwoods and Earnest and wife Margie Riley of Buckhannon; uncle, Dennie "Woody" Gregory of Buckhannon; aunt, Nina West of Farmington, Ohio; two nieces; and four brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
Friends were received at the Floyd Funeral Home of Weston on Tuesday, January 31. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clifford West officiating. Interment followed in the Peterson cemetery.

Jack Everett Orndorff
Jack Everett Orndorff, 75, of 141 Catherine Street, Weston, died Friday, January 27, 2006, after a brief illness at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston.
He was born July 13, 1930, in Kensington, MD, a son of the late Weldon and Margaret Miller Orndorff.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kay Barker Orndorff; one son, Mark Dennison and wife Patty of Stephens City, VA; four daughters, Ann Surguy and husband Tim of Mount Airey, MD, Gail Hayes and husband Kenny of Culpeper, VA, Earlene Orndorff and partner Walter Tomkins of Cramerton, NC, Tammy Orndorff and partner Bill Blevins of Culpeper, VA; ten grandchildren; six great-granchildren; two sisters, Judy Gooding and husband Ronnie of Rockville, MD, and Betty Garrison of Gaithersburg, MD.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Orndorff and one great-grandson.
Mr. Orndorff was retired from Battlefield Ford in Manassas, VA, where he worked as a transmission specialist.
He was a member of the Lost Creek Church of God.
Friends were received at the Floyd Funeral Home on Sunday, January 29, 2006. Funeral services were held at the Lost Creek Church of God on Monday with Pastor Ronnie Beason officiating. Interment followed in the Wilbur cemetery.

Clarence Lee Borchert
Clarence Lee Borchert, 79, of 225 Center Avenue, Weston, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following an illness of one week.
He was born April 15, 1926, in Hymen, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Clarence A. Borchert and Mary M. McVicker Borchert.
He was twice married, first on May 28, 1948, he married the former Pearl L. Brown who died January 18, 1990, then on April 20, 1994, he married the former Joyce Kerr who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Robert Lee Borchert, Dr. Christopher A. Borchert, Nancy Lea Alfred, all of Weston and Mary Lou Borchert of Buckhannon, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, one half-sister, Mildred Twigg of Cumberland, MD.
Mr. Borchert was a graduate of Weston High School class of 1944. He entered the Army Air Corp in June of that same year. He completed his Air Corp training at Drew Field, FL, and was a gunner and armourer on a B-17 Bomber in the pacific theater of war. Mr. Borchert attained the rank of Technical Sergeant.
After WWII he attended WV Wesleyan College, graduating with a degree in business. He went to work at Colonial Glass Co. in 1948, where he was the decorating foreman and vice president. In 1966, after the death of his father, Mr. Borchert became president of that company and ran it successfully for nine years until it was destroyed by fire in 1975. Mr. Borchert was a member for over 50 years of the Weston Lodge #10 A.F. & A.M. and its youngest master for many years.
He was a Royal Arch Mason, member of the St. John Commandry, Past Potentate of Nemesis Shrine Temple. He was a life long member of St. Paul Episcopal Church and served as a vestryman for many years.
Friends were received at the Boyle Funeral Home on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, from the St. Paul Episcopal Church with the Reverend Deborah Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic cemetery. Weston Lodge # 10 A.F. & A.M. will be in charge of graveside rites.

Nellie Louella DeMark
Nellie Louella DeMark, 82, of Rt. 2, Jane Lew, Good Hope Community, went to Heaven on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born in Harrison County on November 16, 1923, daughter of the late Okey Calvin Byrd and Clova McDonald Byrd.
On July 29, 1956, she married her husband of 48 years, John L. DeMark, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2004.
Mrs. DeMark is survived by one daughter, Candy DeMark Clark and husband Daniel of Good Hope; two sons, Domenick Castillo and wife Carol of Good Hope and John K. DeMark and wife Wendy of West Milford; four grandchildren, Nicky Davis, Calvin Castillo, John Lasater and Lee Hall and one great-granddaughter Alexis Davis. Also surviving are two brothers Tracey Byrd of Weston and Calvin F. Byrd of Windham, Ohio; two sisters, Frankie Lough of Weston and Mary Shellhammer of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DeMark was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanemia Ruth Metz and Freda B. Keith, and two brothers, Louie D. Byrd and Charles W. Byrd.
Mrs. DeMark was an employee of Hazel Atlas Glass Company of Clarksburg for several years. Later, she was a cook for the Wilderness Plantation Restaurant in Jane Lew.
A graveside chapl service will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 1 p.m. from the West Virginia National cemetery of Pruntytown with Reverend Richard Suttles officiating. Interment will follow graveside chapel services in the West Virginia National cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Home Health and Peoples Hospice, P.O. Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26301.

Mason Rogers Johnson, Sr.
Mason Rogers Johnson, Sr., 90, of Woodstock, Virginia, passed away at Tandem Health Care on March 2, 2006. The funeral was held on March 5, at 2 p.m. at the Woodstock United Methodist Church. Rev. David Palmer officiated. Burial followed in the Cedarwood cemetery in Edinburg.
Mr. Johnson was born March 3, 1915, in Webster County, a son of the late Leonard Elliot Johnson and Mary Helmick Johnson. He was a 1930 graduate of Jane Lew High School. After 30 years with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Belvoir, Andrew's Air Force Base and Walter Reed Army Hospital, he retired in 1970 as General Manager. During World War II, he served with the 30th Engineers of the Army in both the Pacific and European Theaters.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Woodstock United Methodist Church since 1983 and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Fairfax County, Virginia, prior to moving the the Shenandoah Valley. He was a member of Edinburg's Lions Club, serving as secretary and president for several terms and received their highest award, THe Melvin Jones Fellow in 1993. He served as president of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce for two years and served as chairman of the Edinburg Ole'Time Festival three times. In 2000, Mr. Johnson was named Edinburg's Outstanding Citizen by the Chamber of Commerce. He helped "Uncle Joe" Miller raise funds and build Edinburg's Turner Ashby Memorial to honor Colonel Ashby and his Company C Calvery troops from the local area. He was a life long bowler and continued well into his 90th year.
Mr. Johnson was the last of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Audra, Rex and Blair Johnson; sister Gladys Johnson Friend; son Mason R. Johnson, Jr.; first wife Dorothy Battle Johnson, and great great nephew James W. Gould II.
He is survived by his wife Chester (Ches) Hickman Johnson, son James R. Johnson and his wife Coralee and their children, Kristen and Jimmy of Little Silver, NJ; stepdaughter Robin Hickman of Alexandria, VA; stepson Gary Hickman on Philomath, OR; granddaughter Kathryn Johnson of Jane Lew, one nephew, three nieces, three great-nephews, seven great-nieces, six great-great-nephews and seven great-great-nieces.
Pallbearers were Richard Pence, Jesse Wine, John Carson, Marvin Wilkin, William Pence, John Foley, Roy Hoak and Carroll Dellinger.
The family received friends at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock on Saturday, March 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodstock United Methodist Church, 156 South Muhlenberg st., Woodstock, VA 22664 or the Volunteer Farm, 277 Crider Lane, Woodstock, VA 22664.

Sandra Jane Swiger
Sandra Jane Swiger, 52, of 656 Crane Camp Road, Walkersville, died at 6:56 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following a brief illness.
She was born July 23, 1953, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Alfred Gilbert and Betty Jean Swartz Batten.
On June 3, 1986, she married Ronald Mark Swiger who survives.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Denise Rowan and Janetta Ann Ables, both of Walkersville, four sisters, Shirley Collins of Pricetown, Wilma Lattea of Ohio, Neoma Lattea of Florida, and half sister Louanne Sparks of Michigan; one half brother David Swartz of Michigan, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Ronnie and Lee Batten, one sister Candice Marie Butcher and foster parents Doc and Goldie Rhinehart.
Mrs. Swiger was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of the elderly and housecleaning. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Weston Church of God.
Friends may call at the Floyd Funeral Home of Weston on Wednesday, March 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Randall Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic cemetery.

Kevin Jon ‘Jonnie’ Watson
Kevin Jon “Jonnie” Watson, 50, of Rt. 1, Buckhannon, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Watson was a building construction worker and was a very talented woodworker and cabinet maker.
He was born in Clarksburg on July 20, 1955, a son of the late Kencil L. Watson and Virginia K. Lyons Watson, who survives in Clarksburg.
He is also survived by his wife, Letitia A. McClain Watson, whom he married on July 1, 1983; three daughters, Jennifer Dillon and her husband Scott, Navarre, Ohio, Melissa Hartman and her husband Chad, Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Michelle Wayne, Buckhannon; one son, Joshua Jon Watson, Buckhannon; four grandchildren, Jenna Dillon, Ivory Dillon, Creed Dillon, all of Navarre, Ohio, and Destiny Hartman, Canal Fulton, Ohio; seven brothers and sisters, Kathleen Thompson and her husband Larry, East Hartford, Connecticut, Alan K. “Butch” Watson and his wife Susan, Jane Lew, Dan A. Watson, Rawlins, Wyoming, Keith W. Watson, Clarksburg, Kimberly Kester and her husband John, Bridgeport, Kitty J. Knapp and her husband Gary, Wilsonburg, and Kelley Czako and her husband William “Bill,” Jane Lew; many nieces and nephews including Chloe Elizabeth Kester; many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Watson was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was devoted to and loved his family. He was a member of the Reynoldsville Baptist Church and was a member of the Meuse-Argonne Post 573, VFW.
Family and friends were received at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Drive, Rt. 98, Clarksburg, on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. Mr. Watson wias taken to the Reynoldsville Baptist Church to lie in state for one hour prior to the service, which was held Monday, March 6 at noon. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, attn.: Elizabeth Bellotte, P.O. Box 9162, Morgantown, WV 26506; make checks payable to WVUF Acct. No. 2V312R.

Carolyn Faith Allen
Carolyn (Carol) Faith Allen, 57, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away March 11, 2006, at Metro Hospital.
She was born in Canton, Ohio, but raised in Otway, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert and Jeanette Cooper.
She was married June 30, 1978, to Earl Allen who survives.
Beloved mother of Kathy Belt, Johnny Belt and Earl Allen Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; loving grandmother of Carol Marie, D.J., Jonathan, Crissy, Herman Jr. and Lydia, all of Cleveland, Ohio; beloved sister of Patricia (Al) Conley of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Eugenia (Arthur) Blizzard of Bucyrus, Ohio, Nancy Riffle of Cleveland, Ohio, Roy (Lucille) Cooper of Ashland, Ohio, Michael Cooper of Cleveland, Ohio and Thomas Cooper of Minford, Ohio. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Beatrice Allen of Linn, WV; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in West Virginia; and one brother-in-law in Brooklyn, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Russell Cooper, and one sister, Linda Adkins.
Family and friends were received at Craciun-Berry Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 14, 2-4 and 6-9. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 15 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Sayre officiating. Burial followed in the West Park cemetery.

Charlotte R. Bailey
Charlotte R. Bailey, 22, of 64 Dutch Hollow, Weston, died on Friday, April 14, 2006, at her residence.
She was born in Clarksburg on March 24, 1984; daughter of Joseph D. Bailey and Linda Charlene Allen, both of Weston.
Miss Bailey is also survived by fiancé Jason Heath, one son Hunter Scott Heath of Roaoke, maternal grandparents Harold and Betty A. Green of Weston, paternal grandmother Anna Elizabeth Bailey of Weston, and step mother Bonnie Bailey of Weston. She is also survived by three brothers, Olan Thomas Ross of Elkins, Roy Crouse of Buckhannon and Edwin Lee Posey of Camden; six sisters, Elizabeth Ann Henline and husband George, Lora Ann Montgomery, Stella Mae Queen, all of Weston, Robin Crouse of Fries, VA, Tammy Lynn Street of Galax, VA, and Anis Brown of Mt. Clare, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Eugene K. Allen and paternal grandfather Judson L. Bailey.
Miss Bailey was a mother and homemaker.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Sunday, April 16 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifford West officiating. Interment followed in the Lorentz cemetery in Upshur County.

Evelyn Wyant Bennett
Evelyn Willajean "Jean" Wyant Bennett, 81, of Grantsville, departed this life on April 15, 2006, at the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.
Born May 23, 1924, on Horse Run Road, Lewis County, Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of the late Roy and Plessie Wyant.
On February 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Ray Bennett who survives at their Calhoun County home.
Evelyn was a 1942 graduate of Weston High School, a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Grantsville and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one son and one daughter: Dennis Bennett and wife Susan of Craigsville, and Rebecca Wilson and husband John of Knoxville, MD. One grandson and one granddaughter survive: Derek Bennett and wife Gina of Chesapeake, VA, and Kami Bennett of Norfolk, VA. Three great-grandsons also survive: Matt, Caleb and Seth Bennett, all of Chesapeake, VA.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Burl, Homer, Truman, Earl and Roy Wyant Jr. and one sister: Mary Margaret Wyant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. of Glenville with the Rev. Doug Eades officiating. Burial will follow in the Broad Run cemetery in Jane Lew. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at the Ellyson Mortuary of Glenville.
