Kenneth Lee Hunt
Kenneth Lee Hunt, 55, of 164 Valley Chapel Road, Jackson's Mill community, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, in United Hospital Center of Clarksburg following an extended illness.
He was born in Lewis County on September 7, 1951, beloved son of Louise (Paugh) Hunt of Jackson's Mill and the late Walter "Mike" Hunt Jr.
He was the loving husband of Debbie D. (Day) Hunt, whom he married on July 9, 1971.
Kenny was the dedicated father of two sons, Jason Everett Hunt and wife Amy of Weston and Brent Hunt and wife Tammy of Jackson's Mill. He was the loving grandfather of Timothy Ryan Hunt, Trenton Everett Hunt and Cole Hayes Hunt.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by one brother, David Ray Hunt.
Kenny was the owner of Jabre Producing Company. He was a member of the Jackson's Mill Volunteer Fire Department for several years. Kenny enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Thursday, November 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Broad Run cemetery of Jane Lew.

Tommy E. Murphy
Tommy E. Murphy, 74, formerly of Weston, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Holdbrook on the Hill Nursing Home, Buckhannon, following an extended illness.
He was born on March 18, 1932, in Lewis County, a son of the late Okey Dale Murphy Sr. and Minnie Kathryn Aylor Murphy.
He is survived by four brothers, Okey Dale Murphy Jr. of Buckhannon, Ralph Richard Murphy of Buckhannon, Leroy Murphy of Weston and Clyde Kelly Murphy of Grafton; four sisters, Betty Louise Simpkins of Ohio, Loretta Kathryn Sims of Parkersburg, Virginia B. Johnson of Weston and Barbara Ellen Claypoole of Walkersville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Murphy, on January 29, 2006, and three brothers, Homer Murphy, Benjamin Franklin Murphy and Kenneth Robert Murphy.
Tommy worked at the Weston State Hospital as a janitor for many years and was Baptist by faith.
A private graveside service will be held in the Peterson cemetery of Weston.
Floyd Funeral Home handled arrangements for the family.

Darrell Gene Warner
Darrell Gene Warner of Kingwood, Texas, died October 27, 2006.
He was born in Jane Lew, West Virginia, on June 13, 1933, the only child of Charles F. and Juanita Warner, deceased.
He is survived by his caring, supportive high school sweetheart and loving wife of 52 years, the former Hilda Jones, a native of Weston. Darrell and Hilda were married in 1954.
He is also survived by daughter Ann Henrichsen and her husband Craig, son William (Bill) Warner and two granddaughters, Stephanie and Emily Henrichsen. Darrell also had many close friends and companions including fellow students from high school and college, the military, church, his golfing group and those he met on his Exxon assignments, both company people and local residents.
He was a graduate of Weston High School in 1951 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering of Mines (Oil and Gas Option) from West Virginia University in 1955. Following graduation from WVU, Darrell served two years as an officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, then embarked on a 35 year career with Exxon and affiliated companies.
He started with an Exxon predecessor company as a petroleum engineer in Illinois and progressed through assignments in engineering, operations, research and planning to become Manager of the Offshore District in New Orleans, LA, President of the Carter Mining Company in Gillette, WY, Vice President of Exxon Coal Company in Houston, TX and Manager of the Western Production Division in Thousand Oaks, CA.
For six years prior to his 1992 retirement, he was President of Exxon Pipeline Company in Houston. In these positions at various times he also served as Chairman of the Prudhoe Bay Oil Field Owners Committee, as a member and Chairman of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Owners Committee, and as President and Chairman of the Western Oil and Gas Association, at the time the oil industry's trade association for seven western states.
He was also Executive Vice Chairman and Director of Houston Works, the joint-industry job training partnership. Following retirement from Exxon, Darrell served as a member of the United States Air Force Long-Range Planning Review Board. He was a member of the Visiting Committees for both the WVU College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and the predecessor College of Mineral and Energy Resources.
He was a charter member of the University's Woodburn Circle Society. In 1994, he was honored as the College of Mineral and Energy Resources' outstanding alumni. Darrell was a registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
He was elected an elder in the Presbyterian Church in 1960 at the age of 27 and served on Session or as Trustee of several congregations. At First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood he has served either as Treasurer or on Session as Finance Chairman for the past 20 years. In addition, he was Project Manager for two major church expansions. He also served 12 years as a member and Vice President of the Fosters Mill Village Community Association.
Darrell enjoyed playing golf, fly fishing, duck hunting and all kinds of spectator sports. He grew beautiful roses and liked to identify the different birds that came to his backyard feeder. He was an avid reader and liked to play bridge and work crossword puzzles. He studied history, maps and genealogy. He was most proud of his family, especially his granddaughters.
A memorial service was held at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood on Monday, October 30, 2006. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at Floyd Funeral Home of Weston on Wednesday, November 1, with Dr. Robert Covington officiating. Burial was at Masonic cemetery, Weston. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Fundation.

Mary B. Williams
Mary B. Williams, 87, of Rt. 3, Lost Creek, passed away at 8:15 a.m. at her home. She was born March 14, 1919, at Waynesboro, VA, a daughter of the late Otha E. Eavery and Ida B. Pleasant Eavery.
She was married to Wilbur L. Williams, who preceded her in death in 1959.
She is survived by a special friend, Carl V. Smith Jr. of Rt. 3, Lost Creek; two sons, Robert B. Straley and Charles D. Straley of Rt. 3, Lost Creek; two daughters, Martha L. Straley of Rt. 3, Lost Creek, and Jean W. Straley of Smithville, TN; seven grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, one of whom she reared, Phillip Rabanal of Rt. 3, Lost Creek; one brother, Russell Eavery of Dooms, VA; and three sisters, Margaret Marshall of Williamsburg, VA, Louise Campbell of Mt. City, TN, and Francis Tennell of Waynesboro, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy D. and Harry Eavery and two sons, Wilbur L. Williams and James R. Williams.
Mrs. Williams was a lover of flowers and enjoyed sewing and her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Duck Creek Union Mission Church.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home of Jane Lew on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Templeton officiating. Burial followed in the Rose Hill cemetery at West Milford.

Fay Harris
Fay Harris, 49, of Rt. 4 Box 587, Buckhannon, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born August 24, 1957, in Buckhannon, daughter of the late Denver Ray and Wilma Imogene Bailey Kesling.
On July 16, 1975, she married Steven Harris who survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Dotti Dietz and husband Joshua of Fort Ashby; and grandsons, Dakota Dietz and Kaden Dietz, both of Fort Ashby.
Mrs. Harris was employed by Mt. State Printing as a floor boss.
Friends were received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home of Buckhannon on Monday, November 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 28 at 10 a.m. from the Kesling cemetery with the Rev. Paul E. Dietz officiating. Burial was in the Kesling cemetery.

Florence Kelley
Florence Virginia Kelley, 77, of 198 Homewood Road, passed on to eternal life on Monday afternoon, November 27, 2006, at Fairmont General Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born March 2, 1929, in Weston, a daughter of the late Argil Kelley and Mary Byrd Montgomery.
Surviving are two sons, Junior W. Kelley and wife Lisa of Weston and Richard A. Kelley and wife Julie of Weston; one daughter, Linda Schaffer of Maryland; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lovie Thompson, Elizabeth Brady, Ella Fultineer and Josephine Montgomery; one brother, Ona Ray Montgomery; and an infant daughter, Emmogene.
Florence was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was employed at Louie Glass Factory and then spent several years caring for elderly people. She was also a homemaker. Florence was Pentecostal by faith and was a faithful follower of A.A. Allen Ministries of Miracle Valley, Arizona.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 29 at the Floyd Funeral Home of Weston. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew.

Janet LaDawn Wyant
Janet LaDawn Wyant, 60, of 805 Kuntz Drive, Weston, died at 1:17 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006, in United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, after a brief illness.
She was born on January 16, 1946, in Napanee, IN, and raised in Weston, by her late grandparents, Claude and Florida Turner and two special aunts, Doshia "Leon" Turner and Naomi "Junie" Turner, who both live in Weston.
Janet was married on July 20, 1964, in Cassepolis, Cass County, MI, to James "Jim" E. Wyant, who survives in Weston. Janet and Jim and children spent many years traveling as a military family both overseas and in the states.
Janet was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting and gardening. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the beloved Red Hat Glitter Girls Society, Weston Chapter.
Janet was a loving niece, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
In addition to her husband and special aunts, she is survived by daughters, Kim and husband Lynn Hughes and granddaughters Krista Renee' and Cassandra LaDawn Hughes, all of Jane Lew and Mistie and husband Ralph Love of Weston; son, James Michael and wife Kari Wyant and grandsons, Carson James and John Wesley Wyant, all of Fairmont; two brothers, Kevin Reed of IN, and Ricky A. Reed of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 10, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Two Lick Road, Jane Lew, with the Reverend O.D. Harman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation of the Alleghenies, Inc., 700 5th Avenue, FL 4, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-3017, since Janet was a transplant recipient herself some nine years ago.

Ernest E. Carder Sr.
Ernest E. "Buck" Carder Sr., age 93, of Good Hope, departed this life on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, in the United Hospital Center.
He was born in Good Hope, on Oct. 23, 1913, a son of the late Worthy Carder and Daisy (Jett) Carder.
Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Virginia (Coffindaffer) Carder, whom he married on Dec. 8, 1933; two sons, Bob Carder and his wife, Debbie, Good Hope, and Toby Carder and his wife, Carol, Kincheloe; two daughters, Shirley Alkire, Weston, and Linda Lou Burch, Vienna; eight grandchildren, Adam Carder, Amber Carder, Justin Cayton, Todd Carder, Melissa Carder Anderson, Donnie Burch, Crystal Alkire Kumar and Linda Alkire Sprouse; seven great-grandchildren, Jesse Anderson, Erica Anderson, Emily Burch, Alexis Kumar, Derrick Snyder, Melissa Snyder Heckert and April Snyder Long; one great-great-grandchild, Ethan Heckert; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Luanna, on June 6, 1935, and two sisters, Ethel Law and Beulah Dransfield.
Mr. Carder retired with 37 years from Consolidated Natural Gas, Division 4 Headquarters at Davisson Run. He previously worked at the Kennedy Station and Cabot Station.
There is no visitation and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, at the New Bethel United Methodist Church, Good Hope, with the Rev. O.D. Harman presiding. Interment will be in the Good Hope Masonic cemetery.

Robert Glen Davis
Robert Glen Davis, 47, of 1655 Limestone Road, Weston, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007, in United Hospital Center of Clarksburg, following an extended illness.
He was born in Pineville on November 6, 1959; son of the late Denzil Davis and Betty (Mullens) Davis of Camden.
On September 1, 2001, he married Brenda Lee (Curry) Davis, who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Rachel Elizabeth Davis (2). Bob is also survived by two brothers, Jeff Davis of Camden and Mark Davis of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Davis was a professional land surveyor and owned and operated Davis Land Surveying. He was a right-of-way agent for the WV Department of Highways. He was the Lewis County Surveyor for several years. Bob was a farmer and owned R & B Farms.
Bob was a member of the Victory Assembly of God Church of Weston, where he was a trustee. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the American Angus Association.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Friday, February 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Victory Assembly of God Church of Weston with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Gum cemetery of Pocahontas County.

Harley G. Osborn
Harley G. Osborn, 84, of Waldeck community, Lewis County, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007, in Meadowview Manor Nursing Home of Bridgeport, following an extended illness.
He was born in Lewis County on December 6, 1923; son of the late Peter Osborn and Delphia (Teter) Osborn.
He first married Norma Sue (Garrison) Osborn, who preceded him in death. Mr. Osborn then married Goldie Gustavia (McCray) Osborn, who preceded him in death on January 7, 2006.
Mr. Osborn was preceded in death by five brothers, Howard, Robert, Leo, Earl and Cecil Osborn; and three sisters, Daisy Tomey, Mary Flint and Sylvia Adams.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Osborn retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways of Gilmer County. He loved to farm. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Saturday, February 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Russell Furr officiating. A private interment followed in the Rock Grove cemetery of Linn.
