Delores Marie Bleigh
Delores Marie Bleigh, 59, of Walkersville, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston.
She was born in Weston on December 29, 1947, a daughter of the late Dewey and Edna Mae Riffle Thompson.
On December 20, 1968, she married Jackie L. Bleigh, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Connie Barnette and husband Chuck of Walkersville, Donna Hall and husband Randy of Walkersville and David Bleigh and companion Jennifer of Walkersville; seven grandchildren, Cody Bleigh, Preston Barnette, Christopher Hall, Aaron Hall, Sara Bleigh, Nick Riffle and Tyler Riffle; and one brother, Edward "Bud" Thompson of Canton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Goldsmith.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, working on their farm and spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Alkire Funeral Chapel of Ireland on Sunday, April 22, from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Alkire Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Waugh officiating. Burial followed in the Wimer cemetery.

Evelyn Louise Boylen
Evelyn Louise Boylen, 78, of Nederland passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Gulf Healthcare in Port Arthur.
Mrs. Boylen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Harold Kessler Boylen in January of this year. She was a native of Lewis County, West Virginia, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland.
Eveyln is survived by her son, William “Bill” Boylen and wife Conni of Houston; grandson, Zachary Boylen of Portland, TX; brother, Quenton Burkhammer and wife Nora of Weston; nieces, Nancy Gee and Steve, Twyla Shock and Mike; nephews, Wayne and Sandy Burkhammer, Kevin and Debbie Burkhammer, Warren and Connie Burkhammer, Mike Rinehart and Marsha; sister-in-law, Glenna Murray; and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 21, at 10:00 a.m.. in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Malcolm Monroe officiating. Interment followed in Memory Gardens cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends was held from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007.

Charles Lewis Cooper
Charles Lewis Cooper, 79, of Deerfield Road, Weston, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in Sunbridge Nursing Home of Glenville following an extended illness.
He was born December 5, 1927, in Lewis County, the son of the late George Lee Cooper and Clara Elizabeth (Jackson) Cooper.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Agnes (Gillooly) Cooper. They were married by Reverend Father Joseph McKernan at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janice Marie Godfrey and husband Larry of Vienna, WV, and Mary Anne Lawson and husband Ron of Brooksville, FL. Mr. Cooper is also survived by three grandchildren, Chris Todd, Andy Todd and Erik Lawson. Also surviving is one sister, Mary Louise Randolph of Bridgeport, WV.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Cooper and Richard Jackson Cooper, both of Weston, WV.
Mr. Cooper retired after 34 years of service from the United States Postal Service in Weston, WV. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston. Charles was also a lifetime member of the Weston Moose Lodge.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, Weston, on Sunday, April 22, 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston with Father Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant. A Rosary was conducted on Sunday at 6:45 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Patrick Catholic School, 210 Center Avenue, Weston, WV 26452.

Francis Regina Duvall
Francis Regina Duvall, of Cedartown, died April 13, 2007, after a long illness.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
She was born in Alum Bridge, the fourth of seven children, to Brainerd and Lena Titus, who, along with four brothers, preceded her in death.
Jeanie, as she was known to family and friends, graduated from Weston High School and six months later married Bill, the love of her life.
In 1950, Jeanie and Bill moved to Akron, Ohio, where they raised their family until Bill was transferred by Goodyear to Rockmart, GA, in 1968.
Jeanie was a licensed beautician and always had a chair in her home for family and friends. She was a member of Cedartown First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Her sense of family defined her life and as a result, was always surrounded by her loved ones until the end.
Jeanie was blessed during her long illness to have been provided extraordinary care by her family and two very special people, Barbara McCray of Cedartown and Roberta Green of Rome.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; her adoring children and their spouses, ____________, Denise (Larry) Carter of Lilburn, Kevin (Susan) Duvall of Dalton and Ken (Sharon) Duvall of Stone Mountain; her nine blessed grandchildren, Nicole and Dillon Carter, Brett, Blake, Elaina, Laura Grace and Abby Duvall; her beloved sister, Evelyn Villers; and brother, Paul Titus, both of Camden; was well as many nieces and nephews.
THe family of Mrs. Frances Regina Duvall received relatives and friends at the Gammage Funeral Home in Cedartown, GA, on Sunday, April 15, from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service was held at the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Burial followed on Tuesday at the Weston Masonic cemetery of Weston.

Janet F. Garton
Janet F. Garton, 67, of Jackson's Mill, passed away surrounded by her family at 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, after an extended illness.
She was born on October 3, 1939, in Hurst, the daughter of the late Ernie W. and Axie J. (Coe) Holland.
On April 1, 1958, she married Wendell Lewis Garton, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Garton is survived by four children, Tamela J. (Joe) Rinehart, Marty K. Garton, Kimberly D. (Michael) Ray and Vickie L. (Scott) Anderson. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Caitlyn and Caleb Vankirk, Zachery and Sanchesca Alderson, Teneille and Schyler Garton and Jessilyn and Lucas Ray. Mrs. Garton is also survived by two sisters, Pansy (John) Malone and Alyene Dosser; several nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Misty.
Janet was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred Bruce Webb and two infants.
Janet Garton was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a cashier at Jackson's Mill Superette for ten years. She was a member of St. Johannas Lutheran Church in St. Clara and she attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Weston.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Tuesday, April 24, from 5-8 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Caton of St. Marks Lutheran Church of Clarksburg officiating. Interment will follow in Weston Masonic cemetery of McGuire Park.

Juanita Keister
Juanita Keister, 97, formerly of Weston, WV, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Braxton County Health Care Center, Flatwoods, WV, after an extended illness.
She was born March 17, 1910, in Troy, Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late Lillie Bush Ware.
On November 27, 1941, she married Harold Clay Keister, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1975.
Juanita was the last surviving member of her family.
She was Baptist by faith and a homemaker.
Friends were received from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Troy IOOF cemetery, with the Reverend Russell Furr officiating.

Mary E. Kelley
Mary E. Kelley, 93, of 4946 Old Mill Road, Jane Lew, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007, in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew, following an extended illness.
She was born in Clarksburg on July 20, 1913; daughter of the late Edward Yerkey and Lillian (Martin) Yerkey.
on February 6, 1931, she married William Galey Kelley, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1965.
Mrs. Kelley is survived by one son, William Timothy Kelley and wife Cheryl of the Westfield community; one grandson, Timothy Chad Kelley and wife Chanda; and one great-grandson, Caden Preston Kelley.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Aljon, Martin and Harry Yerkey.
Mrs. Kelley was a cook for several area restaurants including The Coffee Mill Restaurant, Caravan Restaurant, Lake Riley and Deerfield Country Club. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Sunday, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services were held on Monday from the Broad Run cemetery of Jane Lew with Reverend Rodney Heckert and Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment followed in the Broad Run cemetery of Jane Lew.

Dorothy M. Lehosit
Mrs. Dorothy M. Lehosit, age 76, of 404 Indiana Avenue, Nutter Fort, passed away at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following an extended illness.
She was born in Weston, October 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Cecil Collins and Amanda Burkhammer Collins.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-three years, Emil F. Lehosit, Sr., whom she married February 6, 1954; two sons, Emil F. Lehosit, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, Bridgeport, WV, and Thomas C. Lehosit, Nutter Fort, WV; two daughters, Dotty Dillon and husband, Terry, Quiet Dell Community, Harrison Co., WV, and Connie C. Lehosit, Clarksburg, WV; one sister, Delores Messenger, Waterford, OH; six grandchildren, Marissa Ann Bennett, Christopher (Chris) Bennett, Kyle, Logan, Brooklynn and Magan Lehosit; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lehosit was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Leo and Fred Collins, and by three sisters, Freda Bush, Ruth Lewis and Madge Butcher.
Mrs. Lehosit was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood. She was an owner and operator, with her husband, of the Parkette Restaurant for over fifty years, before her retirement.
Friends were received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 19. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Friday, April 20, at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Father John S. Ledford as celebrant. A Biblical prayer service was held at the funeral home on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Entombment followed the Mass in Holy Cross Mausoleum.

William Conrad Means Jr.
William Conrad Means Jr. passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 after a short illness.
He was born June 2, 1949 in Weston. He grew up in Camden, Man, Clendenin and Morgantown and lived most of his working life in Mt. Morris, PA, and then in Fairmont. William Conrad was known by family as Rad and coworkers as Bill. He had a business degree from Bliss College and a CS Associates degree from Computer Tech. He worked 20 years as an accountant at Humphrey’s Mine and completed his working career with Teletech.
He was a member of the Joseph W. Summers Masonic Lodge #173 and the Brooks Bird Club. He devoted many years to boy and girl scouting with his children and grandchildren. He was known as the man who would always come to your rescue; fixing a leaky faucet, building a trailer, rewiring a broken light, taking care of his Aunt Marian, or coming out in the middle of the night to help get a tire changed. He enjoyed helping people in his last job as a customer service representative. He delighted in trying to not let anyone off the phone until he had fixed their problems. Bill was a family man, enjoying his grandchildren, working on his goldfish pond, birding, watching wildlife, hunting, fishing and taking part in family reunions and gatherings.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Sarah Jane Goodwin Means; his daughter, Patricia Lynn Desmuke and husband Norman; three grandchildren; Joseph, Zachary, and David; his son, Robert David Means and wife Amanda all of Fairmont; his mother, L. Elizabeth Duckett and husband Jack of Cape Coral, FL; two sisters, Lea Beahman and Bill of Alum Bridge; Trudy Witney and husband, Rob of Cape Coral, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Conrad Means, Sr.
Family and friends were received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Tuesday, April 24 from 4-7 p.m.; and will be received Wednesday, April 25 from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday, April 26 from 9-10 a.m. Funeral service at the funeral home at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dean Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic cemetery in Weston, at 1:00 p.m. A Masonic graveside service will be held at the cemetery.

Carl Clinton Ratliff
Carl Clinton Ratliff, 89, of 1130 Westfield Road, Jane Lew, passed away at the Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew, on April 23, 2007.
He was born on August 4, 1917, in Burnsville, to the late Jonathon Marshall Ratliff and Floda Victoria (Foster) Ratliff. He was married to Bernice B. (Brown) Ratliff, who preceded him in death.
Carl is survived by one son, Carl V. (Buck) and wife Catherine Ratliff of Alum Bridge; one daughter, Barbara G. (Bobbie) and husband Jim Squires of Jane Lew; one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Sam) Joyce Weekley of Gahanna, OH; one step-son, Jackie Lee and wife Wanda Ratliff of Saville, OH. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Katy.
Carl was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Ratliff; two sisters, Helen Allen and Mildred Sue Brown; one son, Alfred Marshall Ratliff; two daughters, Kay Rose Kelly and Janet Beth Kiser; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Ratliff was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Carl was an avid gardener and enjoyed farming. He was formerly employed by Bitner Mining Company in Clarksburg. Mr. Ratliff was Methodist by faith.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Wednesday, April 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Martin Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens cemetery of Jane Lew.

Leota M. Riggs
Leota M. Riggs, 96, of Sunset Drive, Weston, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at her residence.
She was born January 15, 1911, in Kedron, Upshur County, a daughter of the late Joseph Alfred and Lillie Maude Guthrie Hornbeck.
On June 1, 1940, she married William W. Riggs, who preceded her in death on February 29, 1988.
She was employed by WV Glass Specialty, Weston, and Sylvania Plant, Brookville, PA. Leota was Methodist by faith. She was a homemaker.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Hornbeck.
Survivors include one daughter, Jo Ann Miller of Arlington, VA; one son, Arlen Richard Dennison of Oregon; two sisters, Wilma Jean Potter of Willy, TX, and Margarite Wagner of Marietta, GA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Floyd Funeral Home of Weston on Tuesday, April 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow at the Weston Masonic cemetery.
