John A. Wilson
John A. Wilson, 70, of Fairmont, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 29, 2007, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born July 16, 1936, in Fairmont, son of the late Athel Ruben Wilson and Lula Elyse Springer Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emmaline Gould Wilson July 30, 2004.
Mr. Wilson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Curtis McDaniel of Fairmont; a granddaughter, Ashley McDaniel of Fairmont; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Ethel 'Dee' Dye of Mannington.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Carl Wilson and Carol Moneypenny.
Mr. Wilson retired in 1972 from the United Air Force as a radar technician and computer programmer. He was formerly employed by the West Virginia Veterans Affairs as an employment coordinator. He was also a P.G.A. Professional, having worked in Arizona and West Virginia. Mr. Wilson instructed many people over his golfing career including the F.S.U. Ladies Golf Team and several high school teams.
He was Methodist by faith, a veteran in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and a 1955 graduate of Weston High School.
He holds lifetime memberships with the D.A.V., American Legion, and V.F.W.
He enjoyed playing the steel guitar with many local and national musicians.
The family received friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, Fairmont, Sunday, July 1, from 1-4p.m. to 6-8p.m. and Monday, July 2, from 10-11a.m. The funeral service was held in the funeral home Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating. Private committal services will be held at a later time in the Forest Lawn cemetery in Weston.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Sharon Free Methodist Church, Route 3, Box 259-B, Fairmont, WV 26554.

Capt. Michael Adams
Captain Michael Shane Adams, Bridgeport, departed this earthly life Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Ruby Memorial Hospital at approximately 7:15 p.m.
He was born January 30, 1972, the beloved son of Rodney D. and Doris Jean Ellyson Adams, who reside at Troy, WV.
Mike achieved many accomplishments throughout his military career. Mike was appointed as Second Lieutenant within the WV Army National Guard on June 27, 1998 as the Fire Direction Officer of Battery C 1st Battalion 201st Field Artillery in Hinton, WV. On September 1, 1999, 2Lt. Adams was transferred to Btry B 1/201st FA and was promoted to First Lieutenant. On 8 January 2001, 1LT Adams was transferred from Btry B1/201 FA to Company A 1092nd Engineer Battalion as a Platoon Leader on 14 January 2003. From 3 February 2003 until 4 May 2004, 1LT Adams was mobilized for Operation Iraq Freedom and served overseas from 8 April 2003 until 24 March 2004.
After deployment with 1092nd Engineer Battalion, 1LT Adams was transferred to take command of the rear detachment of Service Battery 1/201st FA beginning on 14 May 2004. While serving as commander of Service Battery 1/201st FA, 1Lt Adams was promoted on 13 August 2004 to the rank of Captain. When the main body of the 1st Battalion 201st Field Artillery arrived home from their deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, CPT Adams was reassigned as the Battalion S-1 for the 201st Field Artillery on 9 May 2005.
His accomplishments and awards include National Defense Service Medal-2nd Award, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Mobilization Device, Army Service Ribbon, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, WV Emergency Service Ribbon-3rd Award, WV State Service-4th Award and WV Service Ribbon-3rd Award.
Mike had a joyous and contagious love and spirit that was admired by all who loved him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed living life to its fullest. Mike was an exemplary leader and possesses a wonderful, loving personality that was enjoyed by those in his presence. He touches many lives and his passing will leave a painful void. May you find comfort in his many happy memories!
Mike was a graduate of Gilmer County High School Class of 1990 and Glenville State College Class of 1994, Glenville, WV.
He was first married to Kelli Ward and of this marriage his first son Zakkary Michael Adams of Elizabeth was born.
On March 26, 2005, he was married to Wendy Underwood Adams who survives at Parkersburg along with their son Ryder Kent Adams.
His paternal grandmother is Helen Britton Adams of Troy, WV. His maternal grandparents are Gene and Edith Ellyson of Glenville, WV. He is also the loving and adoring brother of James Rodney (J.R.) Adams and wife Kasie of Parkersburg, WV. Two nephews and one niece survive, Katharine Marie, Dalton Seth and Brayden Clay Adams.
He is survived by several aunts and uncles, Rick and Debbie Adams, Kevin Adams, all of Troy, WV, Gary Ellyson, C.J. and Cindy Ellyson, Kurt and Debbie Ellyson, Tom and Shelley Ellyson and Carmen and Bill Smith.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Raymond E. Adams and aunt, Sheryle Ray Adams Reed.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville with Chaplain Lt. Col. Gary Coffey officiating. Burial with full military honors was observed at the Troy I.O.O.F. cemetery, Troy. Friends were received 5-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.

Albert C. Bonnett
Albert C. Bonnett, 77, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away at 6:05 a.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.
He was born March 20, 1930, in Orlando, a son of the late James Lewis and Lessie Gay (Greynolds) Bonnett.
In 1957, he married Joanne Bonnett, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Andrew C. Bonnett; two daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) Wilhelm of Holgate, Ohio, and Mrs. Bob (Sheryl) Jean Lauer of Westerville, Ohio; one sister, Regenia Harris of Jane Lew; 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
Mr. Bonnett was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy, Buster, Pete and Hugh Bonnett; four sisters, Mona Smith, Mary D'Donglo, Pauline and Irene Bonnett; one half-brother and one half-sister.
He was a veteran, having served in the Army as a private.
Mr. Bonnett was a self-employed plumber and heating specialist, he owned Al Bonnett Heating and Air Conditioning, where he retired in 2000. He was a Sears service man for 11 years. He was a member of the Maumee Valley Car Club. During the 1950s and 60s he drove, raced and maintained stock cars in the Defiance and Byran area. He was invited to enter and show his 1967 Mustang at the Motor Master, Greenville Village, Dearborn, MI, for several years.
Friends were received on Tuesday, August 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mast-Mock-Hoffman-Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home of Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Todd Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sherwood cemetery of Defiance County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.

Johnnie Joe Butcher
Johnnie Joe Butcher, 62, of 143 Hillcrest Road, Weston, passed away at 11:11 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2007, in Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown following an extended illness.
He was born in Weston on November 27, 1944; son of the late John E. Butcher and Madge Marie (Collins) Butcher.
On September 14, 1968, he married Deborah L. Butcher, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Stephen L. Butcher and wife Bobbie and Craig D. Butcher, both of Weston; and three grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsey Butcher and Trey Westfall. Also surviving are three brothers, Edward L. Butcher and wife Sonya of Jane Lew, Donald R. Butcher and wife Kitty and Randy L. Butcher and wife Kathy, both of Waterford, OH; three sisters, Marilyn M. Perry and Carolyn K. Blake and husband Don, both of Weston, and Kathy Neal of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Jay Butcher.
Mr. Butcher was owner and operator of Johnnie's Used Cars of Weston. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
At Mr. Butcher's request, his body was cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, at 6p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Martin Wine officiating.

Vietta Lynn Delauder
Vietta Lynn Delauder, a former resident of Buckhannon, and more recently a resident of Elkins, went home to her rest Saturday morning, August 18, 2007 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, following a critical illness for the past four months. She had been disabled since her early twenties.
She was a very special daughter to Anita Gail Nelson and Donald N. Nelson of Elkins; a special sister and sister-in-law to Nanette Trammell and Jimmy Trammell, Montrose.
She was born at Weston, to Beatrice Posey who survives at Weston. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles Posey and Jim Posey, both of Weston; one sister, Marilyn Freeman, Parkersburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a wonderful friend, Vicki Paugh, Buckhannon.
Preceding her in death were her loving grandmother, Lula M. Posey Donaldson and her beloved Saint Bernard, Samson, who was her “true blue” friend and protector.
Vietta volunteered for several years at Camp Tommy for special needs individuals and loved being with children. She was an avid dog lover and often nursed “special needs” dogs back to health. She especially loved Saint Bernard’s of which she raised several. She volunteered at the animal shelter at Buckhannon for many years. She also worked each year at the Strawberry Festival and enjoyed it very much.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home chapel, Tuesday at 2 p.m. Ronald D. Reeves, minister, officiated and interment followed at the Leading Creek Primitive Baptist cemetery at Montrose. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.

Robert Lee Queen
Robert Lee Queen, Sr., 79, of Oak Ridge, TN, died Thursday, August 16, 2007,
at the NHC Health Care Center.
He was born September 8, 1927, in Weston, the son of Walter
L. and Mary V. Smith Queen.
Mr. Queen retired from Quality Garage where he worked for many years as an
auto mechanic. His job of working on cars was his passion. He loved
tinkering on old cars and received great enjoyment from making things work.
He also loved playing with his granddog, Stonewall. Mr. Queen attended the
First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Adena Hope Luzader Queen, with whom he
celebrated his 38th wedding anniversary on July 4th.
He is also survived by two sons, Robert L. Queen Jr., and wife Marticia of Clinton and Richard A. Lemons of Hurricane; brother, Paul Queen and wife Judy of Clarksville, TN; sister, Betty Frances of Hopkinsville, KY; 3 grandchildren, Adena Harvey and husband Rickey, Jonie Kirby and husband John, all of Milton, and
Samantha K. Lemons of Hurricane; and 3 great-grandchildren, Remington McClure, Rickey Harvey and Donovan Kirby.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 20, at 1:00 p.m. at Weatherford
Mortuary with Rev. Vernon Sansom officiating. Burial followed at Oak
Ridge Memorial Park. The family received friends on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.

Freddie Lee Ables
Freddie Lee Ables, 49, of Weston lost his battle with brain cancer on Sunday, September 16, 2007, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born in Weston on December 21, 1957; son of the late Jimmie J. Ables and mother Mary Jean Ables, who survives, of Weston.
Freddie is survived by wife, Valerie L. Ables of Weston, whom he married on November 1, 2003. Also surviving are two sons, Jason Ables of Weston and Aaron Cranfill of Tennessee; five daughters, Nicole Gettings of Weston, Jamie Ables of Clarksburg, Kelly Weaver of Weston, Jessica Ashley and Alicia McKamey, both of Tennessee; and six grandchildren Chance Gettings, Rylea Ables, Mikayla Ashley, Noah Ashley, Katelyn McKamey and Sarah McKamey. He was also survived by three sisters Connie Huff of Virginia, Alice Taylor of Jane Lew, and Madge Cain of Weston; five nephews, Jeffrey Quesenberry, Michael Taylor, Jeremy Quesenberry, Bobby Cain and Chase Cain; and two nieces Candace Quesenberry and Jacinda Taylor.
Mr. Ables was in telecommunication construction with Tel-Tec, Inc. of Corbin, Ky. He was a member of the Murphy’s Creek Baptist Church of Weston. Freddie was so courageous and brave and will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was a very hard working and dedicated man.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, September 19, from 2-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy and Crystal Kyle of Jane Lew announce the birth of a son, Jack Caleb Kyle, on August 31, 2007, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg. The little boy weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces. His mother is the former Crystal Brandli. His maternal grandparents are Clayton and Lola Brandli of Jane Lew. Larry and Mary Beth Kyle of West Milford are the paternal grandparents.Braydon Hunter Williams was born on August 14, 2007, at United Hospital Center. He was 5 pounds 5.5 ounces and 19 inches long. He is the second child of John and Cassandra Williams. The maternal grandparents are Judith Tichenor of Shinnston and Larry Tichenor of Clarksburg. Paternal grandparents are John and Betty Williams of Weston.

Ann Lynn Ballard
Ann Lynn Ballard, 54, of Timberline Apartments, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1953, in Weston, the only daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary K. Mackey Ballard.
Ann Lynn graduated from Weston High School in 1971 and attended WVU Creative Arts Center Division of Music, where she studied piano under Herman Godes, Artist in Residence. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan with a B.S. in Education. She attended Columbia University in NYC and earned her M.A. degree in Counseling. She was a guidance counselor at Weston Jr. High School and Martinsburg High School. She also received a Dr. of Jurisprudence Degree from West Virginia University Law School. She opened her own law firm, Ballard Law Offices, formerly known as Ballard and McGinley, in Morgantown.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Weston, the WV State Bar, the WV Bar Association, and the Mountaineer Kennel Club.
She was a former employee at Danser’s Hardware in Clarksburg.
Ann Lynn’s greatest love was for her dogs, Rocky and Charlie. She also was a huge fan of WVU football and she had not missed a home game since 1967.
She is survived by two aunts, Helen Norris and June Mackey, and several cousins, Stefana Jones, Larry Mackey II, Michelle Mackey Schnarr, Kimberly Ann Mackey, Kingsley Smith II, Warder Smith, Greg Smith and Michelle Lucarelli.
A reception in honor of Ann Lynn Ballard's life will be held in the Mountaineer Room at the Mountainlair in Morgantown from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23. All family and friends are invited to come and share their memories of Ann Lynn.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Weston, at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 27.
Cremation Services provided by Hastings Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Animal Friends of NCWV, P. O. Box 1244, Morgantown, WV 26507.
