Hobert Roy Metz
Hobert Roy Metz, 83, of Burnsville, died Saturday, September 29, 2007, at his home in Burnsville after a long illness.
Hobert was born on July 23, 1924, in Gassaway, Braxton County, the son of the late Harley and Ellie Metz. He was a retired carpenter, welder and a six-year U.S Navy veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry Metz, Hurley Metz and Harold Metz; and sisters, Mary Helen Jones, Hilah Cutilip and Hattie Wiant.
Hobert is survived by four daughters, Jesse Belknap of Burnsville, Janice Dean of Orlando, Jeannette Potter of Weston and Jerry Williams of Mogadore, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Marcia Wright of Burlington, N.C., Jamie Lockard of Flatwoods, C.J. Belknap of Burnsville, Carol Dean of Burnsville, Charles Dean of Burnsville, Crystal Dean of Orlando, Tonya Estep of Duck, Keri Westfall of Buckhannon, Ashley Allen of Normantown, Jackie Belknap of Glenville, Holly Hogsed of Weston and Kaycee Williams of Mogadore, Ohio; seventeen great-grandchildren, Drew (Peanut) Wright, Hayden (Cricket) Wright and Noah (Grasshopper) Wright, all of Burlington, N.C., Payton (Chug) Lockard and Baylea (Sugar Babe) Lockard of Flatwoods, Dylan (Turtle) Dean and Kieran (Dangermite) Dean of Orlando, Marilyn (Pretty Girl) Conley and Nicole (Little Flower) Helmick of Burnsville, Monice Rice of Glenville, Chyann Jarrett of French Creek, Tori (Sunshine) Estep and Taylor (Moonbeam) Estep of Duck, Trenton (Skeeter) Westfall of Buckhannon, Isaac (Fireball) White of Normantown, Colden (Scooter) Belknap of Burnsville and Shayllyn Belknap of Glenville.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 2 p.m. at the Burnsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Delmas Singleton officiating. Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of the arrangements.

Marguerite Lee Sipe
Marguerite Lee Sipe, age 74 of Weston, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.
She was born on June 6, 1933, at Ten Mile, a daughter of the late George and Claris Harris Tenney.
She was married to Creed Winford Sipe, who preceded her in death on March 9, 1989.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Wayne Sipe and wife Crystal of Weston, Terry Sipe and wife Carolyn of Buckhannon, Ricky Sipe and wife Brenda of Buckhannon, and Ray Sipe of Weston; eight daughters, Patty Landis of Buckhannon, Carolyn Sue Sipe of Weston, Susan Jean Coogle of Mannington, Anita Madison and husband Clay of Statesville, N.C., Judy Redding of Harmony, N.C., Barbara Jones and husband of Barry of York, S.C., Dottie Gilbert and husband Tony of Union Grove, N.C., Donna Sprouse of Weston, Betty Sipe and husband Mike Nuzum of Buckhannon; 30 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Cecil Tenney of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dusty Sipe and one sister, Frances Ocheltree.
Mrs. Sipe was a homemaker.
Friends were received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home of Buckhannon. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with the Reverend Wease Day officiating. Burial followed at the Ten Mile Baptist cemetery.

Sharl W. Wilson
Sharl W. "Buddy" Wilson, 68, of 6 Heath Court, Weston, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Weston on November 3, 1938; son of the late Ralph W. Wilson and Dona (McCauley) Wilson.
On May 23, 1957, he married Nellie (McQuain) Wilson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tammy Rivas-Wilson and husband Ed Rivas of Jane Lew, and Vicki Stricker and husband Dave of Valley Cottage, N.Y.; and two sons, Rick Wilson and fiance Eileen of Otisville, N.Y., and Russell Wilson and wife Monica of Thiells, N.Y. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Christopher, Danny, Brian, Justin, Jessica Rosalee and Ethan Wilson and Sarah Burshad; and one great-grandchild, Kaylee Rene Burshad. Mr. Wilson is also survived by one brother, James Wilson and wife Betty of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Neal and Wandalene Wilson; and one brother, Dewayne Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was an operator for Duke Energey of Stoney Point, N.Y. He was a coach for the Minutemen of Lewis County Youth League Basketball. Buddy was a sergeant in the United States National Guard Unit of Bendale in Lewis County. He was a Methodist.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Friday, September 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Mr. Philip Losh officiating. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew.

Charles B. Curtis Sr.
Charles B. Curtis Sr., 64, of Henry Street, Weston, died Monday at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born February 13, 1943, in Lewis County, a son of the late James and Letabelle Curtis Ables.
He was preceded in death by parents and one daughter, Angie Carder.
On April 22, 1988, he married the former Frances Moore Marks, who survives in Weston.
Charles was a carpenter by trade. He was an avid outdoorsman, who will be sadly missed by his wife and family.
His surivors include his wife, Frances Curtis of Weston; one daughter, Shelley McDougal of Weston; four sons, Charles B. Curtis Jr. of Weston, Brian Curtis of Va., Michael Curtis of Hawaii and Jimmy Curtis, address un known; foster daughter, Wanda Williams of Weston; two stepsons Clellon Marks and Jamie Marks, both of Alabama; two stepdaughters, Angela Marsh of Nebraska and Angel Hendricks of Georgia; four grandsons, four great-granddaughters and six great-grandsons; nine step-grandsons, 18 step-granddaughters; five sons-in-law and four daughters-in-law.
Friends were received from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, at Boyle Funeral Home of Weston. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Perrrine officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove cemetery of Weston.

Steven Hinkle
Steven Hinkle 48, of Mary Lou Retton Drive, Fairmont, WV, died Saturday evening, November 17, 2007, at Rescare of Fairmont after an extended illness.
He was born in Norfolk, Va., on November 20, 1958, a son of the late Charles Hinkle and Eleanor Cutright Hinkle Henline.
Steven has four brothers: Charles Hinkle, Marvin Hinkle, Monte Ray Hinkle, and David Hinkle, and one half sister Drema Hinkle.
Steven will be sadly missed by all his “family” at Rescare of Fairmont. He was a kind and loving young man.
Friends called from 12 noon until 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Floyd Funeral Home, 402 Main Avenue, Weston, WV. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew, WV.

Rodney Marsh
Rodney Lee Marsh, 50, of East 7th Street, Weston, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Nov.19, 2007, in United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, after an extended illness. He was born March 19, 1957, in Lewis County, a son of Lewis and Rosa Mae Boggs Marsh.
On Sept. 24, 2005, he married the former Marie Garrett who survives in Weston.
He was employed as a glass worker. He attended New Life Southern Baptist Church, Glady Fork Road, Weston.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved working on vehicles and giving others a helping hand whenever he could. He enjoyed going out with friends and dancing. He took great pleasure in making wooden churches for his family and many friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Alice J. Marsh; his maternal grandfather, Robert Boggs and his paternal grandparents, John and Minta Marsh.
Mr. Marsh's survivors include his loving wife, Marie Garrett Marsh of Weston; one daughter, Kelly Marsh of Walkersville; two step-sons, Steven and Michael Collins, both of Weston; a foster son, Anthony Marsh of Weston; parents, Lewis and Rosa Mae Boggs Marsh of Weston; three brothers, Stephen Marsh and wife Cheryl of Weston, Daniel Marsh and wife Stacie of Buckhannon and Bruce Marsh of Weston; two sisters, Sharon and husband Gary DeMoss of Weston, and Phyllis and husband Stephen Simmons of Weston; maternal grandmother, Hazel Boggs of Buckhannon; four nieces, Teresa and Allison Marsh, Rosa Mae De Moss and Stephanie Simmons all of Weston; two nephews, Christopher DeMoss and Josh Simmons both of Weston; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at New Life Southern Baptist Church, Glady Fork Road, Weston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at New Life Southern Baptist Church with Pastor David Riddle officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew.

Ronald Joseph Peters
Ronald Joseph "Joe" Peters, 62, of 408 U.S. Highway 19S, Weston, passed away at 6:23 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center of Clarksburg, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Linn on October 18, 1945; son of the late Floyd Francis Peters and Loreeta Marie (Self) Peters.
Joe is survived by three brothers, Richard Lee Peters and Michael Frances Peters, both of Linn and John Wayne Peters of Craigsville; three sisters, Mary Ann Hardbarger of Elizabeth and Sharon Radcliff and Nina Pyles, both of Jane Lew; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl F. and Lynn W. Peters.
Joe was a retired bus driver with the Lewis County Board of Education and also worked for Andy Lang Corporation. He enjoyed being with his family.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Sunday, November 18. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 7 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Kenny Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Rock Grove cemetery at a later date.

Gladys Pratt
Gladys G. Bush Pratt, 96, 1186 Keith Fork Road Weston passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2007, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston following an extended illness. She was born in Gilmer County on October 12, 1911; daughter of the late Warren S. Bush and Estella (Woodford) Bush. She was married to James W. Pratt, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1987.
Mrs. Pratt is survived by one sister Bonnie V. Smith of Anderson, Ind. and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by three brothers Harold, Thomas, and Buell Bush and six sisters, Clara Payne, Opie Olive Bush, Mamie L. Cox, Alma F. Redford, Mildred R. Bush, and Buna Bush Wine.
Mrs. Pratt was a homemaker. She loved to quilt at the Lewis County Senior Center. Her second love was animals of all kinds. She was a Baptist.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, November 20, 2007; from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Kenneth Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Broad Run cemetery of Jane Lew.

Francis Radcliff
Francis R. Radcliff, age 74, of North Eaton, passed away, Sunday, November 18, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a long illness.
He was born in Weston, WV and had lived in North Eaton the past 46 years moving from Cleveland.
He was a 1951 graduate of Weston High School.
He served with both the US Navy and Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Radcliff worked a pipe fitter for the Republic/LTV Steel Company, Cleveland for 34 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a former member of Jacksons Mills Baptist Church, WV and attended Columbia Baptist Church, Columbia Station.
He was a member of United Steel Workers Union and Pipe Fitter Breakfast Club.
He enjoyed traveling and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marge (nee Gum) Radcliff; sisters, Barbara Johnson of Elyria, Beverly Lambert of Weston, WV; three nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Susan Radcliff; son, Stephen Radcliff; parents, Ralph and Stashia A. (nee Butcher) Radcliff and brother, Gary L. Radcliff.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of services at 12 Noon at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville. Pastor Richard Bennett of Columbia Station Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will private at the Snyder cemetery in Churchville, WV.
Memorial contributions may be made to Columbia Baptist Church, 24414 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station, OH 44028 or the Churchville United Methodist Church c/o Martha Gum, 3558 Churchville Rd., Camden, WV 26338.

William Squires III
William "Bill" Squires III passed away at the age of 52 on November 13, 2007.
He was born in Albany, N.Y., on May 29, 1955, the son of the late Sondra D. Roberts Wilson and William Henry Squires II.
He moved to Key Biscayne, Fla., at the age of 5 and lived throughout the years between New York and Florida with his family.
Bill resided in Vero Beach, Fla., from 1974 until he moved to Walkersville, with his wife Karen in 2000.
Bill was an expert restaurant and bar manager. He was fun loving, made everyone laugh and had a passion for tennis and golf and most of all dearly loved all his family.
Bill was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Karen McIntosh of Walkersville; sister, Cherie Squires Hudson of Navarre, Fla.; and nephew, Keith Wicks of Vero Beach, Fla.
At Bill's request, his body will be cremated.
Boyle Funeral Home of Weston is in charge of arrangements for the family.
