Macel Marie Foster
Macel Marie Foster, 95, formerly of Roanoke, died Thursday, March 12, 2008, at Crestview Manor, Jane Lew, following an extended illness.
She was born August 28, 1912, in Rock Cave, a daughter of the late William Hickman and Gertrude Eubank Hickman.
Mrs. Foster was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Foster on January 22, 1980; two brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Delma Jean Skinner and husband Roy of Roanoke and Velinda Kay Kerns and husband Charles of Roanoke; two sons, V. Lynn Foster and wife Janie of Buckhannon, and Roger D. Foster and wife Shirley of Horner; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Macel was a loving wife, mother and diligent homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening and making quilts for those she loved.
She was Methodist by faith and a member of the Oil Creek United Methodist Church.
Friends were received Friday, March 14, 2008 at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Weston.

Bessie L. Golden
Bessie L. Golden, 77, of Laurel Lick, Berlin community, passed away March 12, 2008, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born February 19, 1931, in Hughesville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Everett and Dolly Brockman.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Neil Golden whom she married on June 3, 1966; one daughter, Barbara McVaney of Buckhannon; three sons, William F. Rowan of Weston, Neil Golden Jr. of Weston and David Rowan of Philippi; ten grandchildren, Jason Rowan of Weston, Jody Rowan of Doddridge County, Jake Rowan of Weston, Gwen Donaldson Blake of Weston, Kayla and Shelby Golden of Weston, Haley Murphy of Weston, Dalton Rowan of Weston, Cheyenne Rowan and Michael Jones of Philippi; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Austin Rowan of Weston; one brother, Henry Brockman of Oklahoma; and two sisters, Ruth Muffett of Missouri and Francis Krzaska of Wisconsin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Rowan; one daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Rowan; two brothers, Charles Brockman and Virgil Brockman; and three sisters, Ruby Kellner, Pearl Marshall and Katherine Brockman.
Bessie was Baptist by faith.
In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and cutting timber.
She was loving and friendly to everyone and loved by all she knew.
Friends were received Friday, March 14, at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger McKee officiating. Interment followed in Laurel Lick cemetery.

Cathy L. McClanahan
Cathy L. McClanahan, 58, of Jennings Run Road, Weston, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at United Hospital Center, following a brief illness.
Cathy was born March 15, 1949; the daughter of Peggy McClanahan and the late Junior "Jay" McClanahan.
Cathy is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Don Burdette of South Charleston and Sharon and Don Adkison of Teays Valley; and one brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Donna McClanahan of Pontiac, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marsha "Buzzy" McClanahan.
Cathy was an avid animal lover and considered her pets to be her "four-legged children." At the time of her death, she had five dogs, Tazamon, Bandit, Chance, Renegade and Sebastian; and three cats, Blue, Precious and Fluffers.
At the request of the deceased, her body was donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry to be used for medical research. There will be no memorial service.

Helen Tommarello
Helen (Mrs. T) (Stefko Tommarello, 81, of Greensburg, Pa., formerly of Penn Hills, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, in Redstone Highlands.
She was born March 20, 1926, in Bethel Park, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Gorlock) Stefko.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg.
Prior to retirement, she worked as a manager and cook for Penn Hills High School cafeteria.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Armando Tommarello; three sisters, Mary McCorkle, Margie Reisker and infant Pauline Tommarello; and four brothers, Frank, Bobby, Johnny and Alex Stefko.
Surviving are one son, Dominick Tommarello and wife June of Bovard, Pa.; a daughter, Judi Persinger of Weston; four brothers, Joe, Dan, Paul and Mickey Stefko; and grandchildren, Margaret Garsteck, Ginetta Tommarello and Carley and Freddie Persinger; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan Joy Garsteck.
A memorial service will be held at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Inc., 524 North Main St., Greensburg, Pa., on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Redstone Benevolence Fund, 6 Garden Center Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.

Reta Grace Ware
Reta Grace Ware, age 99 of Ireland, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the home of her daughter.
She was born March 1, 1909, in Wildcat, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Mary Kelly Boggs.
Also preceding her in death are a daughter, Mildred Brown, infant daughter, Diane Lynn Ware, a grandson, Larry Brown, 4 sisters, 5 brothers and 1 half sister.
Surviving are a son, Harold Ware of Horner; a daughter, Jo Ann Robinson of Ireland; and a foster son, Clyde “Jumbo” Jeffries of Ireland; 7 grandchildren, granddaughter whom she raised, Carol Lee Williams and husband Dewey, Roger “Ricky” Ware and wife Benita, Nancy Lorenzo and husband Gilbert, John Ware and wife Charlene, Jimmie J. Robinson and wife Amanda, Mark Robinson and wife Genifer and Dillon Robinson; 21 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ware was a homemaker and had attended the Greenhill UM Church.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Friends were received at the Alkire Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 18, from noon to 2 p.m. the funeral hour with the Rev. Earl Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenhill cemetery.

Henry Frank Bean
Henry Frank Bean, 76, of Harrison Avenue, Weston, died at his home Saturday evening, April 19, 2008.
He was born in Lewis County on September 3, 1931, the son of the late Frank and Vada Jeffries Cool Bean.
Henry is survived by a very special friend, Steve Peters of Weston. Also surviving are his half-sister, Aretta Cool Marsh of Weston; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Bean Call Phillips; two half-brothers, James Cool and Carl Cool.
Henry loved God and talked to him every day.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home of Jane Lew on Tuesday, April 22. Funeral services will be held at the Morris Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. with Rev. Phil Strauss and Rev. Robert Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Machpelah cemetery.

Edgar Lee Chapman
Edgar Lee Chapman, 82, of Weston, went home to the Lord at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Clarksburg following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Weston, on January 9, 1926, a son of the late Luther Moore Chapman and Wilma Brown Chapman.
He was married to Mary Catherine Whelan on April 17, 1949, who preceded him in death on September 21, 2007. His devotion to his beloved wife was a living testimony to his faith.
He is survived by one son, Randall Lee Chapman and his wife Carol of Jane Lew; one daughter, Susan Ann Daugherty of Parkersburg; two grandsons, David Allan Chapman and his wife Amanda of Winchester, VA, and Chris Chapman, Jane Lew; and one granddaughter, Lindsey Erin Daugherty of Morgantown. Also surviving are one brother, Lawrence M. Chapman, Weston; one sister, Ruth G. Finster, Weston; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Chapman was an active lifetime member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston, serving as Sunday school teacher for over 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He served in the United States Navy and fought in the Asian-Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II. After the war, Mr. Chapman returned to graduate from Weston High School and later West Virginia Wesleyan College with a B.A. degree. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
Mr. Chapman had been previously employed at Danser Hardware & Supply, West Virginia Glass Specialty Company, Clarksburg Publishing Co., radio station WHAW and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
In accordance with his request, there will be no visitation or services at this time.
Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston is in charge of arrangements for Edgar Lee Chapman.

Richard Neal Clem
Richard Neal Clem, 65, of 401 John Street, Weston, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown, following an extended illness.
He was born in Weston on July 10, 1943; son of the late George J. Clem and Margaret Ann (Burkhammer) Clem.
Mr. Clem is survived by one daughter, Teresa Ann Clem of Weston; four sons, Tracey Lee Clem and Steve Eric Clem, both of Weston, Brian Scott Clem of Buckhannon and Rick Neal Clem Jr. of Catlett, Va.; and five grandchildren, Trenton E., Savanna, George, Jason and Jonathan Tyler Clem. Also surviving are one brother, Danny Clem of Parkersburg; two sisters, Jean Cyrus of Mansfield, Ohio, and Jenny Skinner of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Clem was a carpenter and mechanic. He was a member of the Eagles Club of Weston. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Friday, April 18. A private service was held on Friday at the West Virginia National cemetery of Pruntytown, including full military honors. Interment followed services.

Donald M. Elliott
Donald M. Elliott, 65, of Weston, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins, following an extended illness.
He was born December 21, 1942, in Harrison County, a son of Velma G. Elliott Collins of Weston and the late Lonnie W. “L.W.” Elliott, Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Sue Norris and husband Gary of Clarksburg,; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Elliott, Arthur Elliott, Lonnie W. Elliott, Jr. and David P. Elliott; and his step-father, C.H. Collins.
Donald previously worked at Louie Glass Factory and was Baptist by faith.
He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Weston, with Reverend Jimmie Joe Johnson officiating.

Anna Marie Goldsmith
Anna Marie Goldsmith, 35, of Brooke St., Weston, was taken to be with her Savior, Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness.
She was born May 21, 1972, in Weston, the daughter of Ruth Ann Riffle Johnson of Weston and the late John E. Riffle.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Calvin and Nellie Riffle; and maternal grandmother, May Ables.
She is survived by her husband, William G. Goldsmith, Jr.; two sons, Kyle Patrick Byrd and John Elliot Goldsmith; two step-sons, William Andrew Goldsmith and Shane Austin Goldsmith; maternal grandfather, Henry Ables of Orlando; two step-brothers, Ronald Johnson and William Johnson; three step-sisters, Amy Johnson, Rebecca Johnson and Patricia Swisher; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Brenda Goldsmith of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was a shift supervisor at the Weston Sheetz for the past seven years and had previously worked at Crestview Manor and the office of Dr. Pons.
She was a loving wife, mother and beautiful daughter,
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Friends were received Friday, April 18, at Boyle Funeral Home, 322 Main Avenue, Weston. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmie Joe Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic cemetery.
