Michael Charles Harris
Michael Charles Harris, 59, of 104 Davis Street, Weston, passed away at 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston, following an extended illness.
He was born in Lewis County on June 13, 1949; son of the late Jesse Harris and Pauline (Garrett) Harris.
On October 18, 1968, he married Jane (Burrows) Harris, who survives.
Michael is survived by one daughter, Michelle Nicholson and husband Tony of Weston; one son, Willard Charles Harris and fiance Yolanda Villegas of Huntington; and two grandchildren, Jessica Harris and Jonathan Hare. Also surviving are two sisters, Grace Rowan of North Carolina and Judith Rowan of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Rowan and Mary Harris.
Mr. Harris was a long-haul truck driver.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Saturday, September 6. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel. Interment followed in the Peterson cemetery of Weston.

Floda Belle McNemar
Floda Belle McNemar, 100, of 805 W. 2nd Street, Weston, passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Crestview Manor Nursing Home of Jane Lew, following an extended illness. She was born in Lewis County on August 27, 1908; daughter of the late William Henry McCue and Margaret Isabelle (Wetzell) McCue.
On December 23, 1931, she married C. Brooks McNemar, who preceded her in death on August 6, 1970.
Mrs. McNemar is survived by one daughter, Dorothea M. Brown of Ft. Recovery, Ohio; one grandson, David A. Brown of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Floda was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Creed H. McCue, Cosby Foster, Leslie R. McCue, Blanche Simmons, Ernie B. McCue and William Kyle McCue.
Mrs. McNemar was a homemaker. In the 50s and 60s, she worked as an aide with the Weston State Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Thursday, September 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Kenneth Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew.

Homer B. Turner
Homer B. Turner, 88, of Weston, died Friday, September 5, 2008, at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility, Clarksburg, following an extended illness.
He was born November 10, 1919, in Weston, a son of the late Newton Hurley Turner and Belva Brinkley Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Turner, on February 1, 2005; a son, James Turner; a brother, Newton “Burdell” Turner, and a sister, Ruth Burkhammer.
He is survived by one daughter, Joy Mason and husband Herb of Marietta, OH; one sister, Betty Smith of Weston; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Homer was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He retired as an agent from Prudential Insurance with many years of service to the people of Weston and surrounding communities.
He was Methodist by faith.

Ruth Marie Wilt
Ruth Marie Miller Wilt, 92, of Rt. 2 Jane Lew, died at her home Saturday evening on a cloudy day at 6:20 p.m.
She was born January 15, 1916, in Winder, Pa., a daughter of the late Harry and Stella Yarnell Miller.
She was married September 9, 1936, to Edward M. Wilt, who preceded her in death March 14, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna R. Thompson and husband Charley Thompson and Barbara R. Hodges and her husband Robert Hodges; three sons, Thomas W. Wilt and wife Sondra Wilt, Darrel E. Wilt and wife Phyllis Wilt and Donald R. Wilt and his wife Marilyn Wilt; one brother, Wilmer Miller; 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home of Jane Lew on Tuesday, September 9. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning September 10, at 11 a.m. at the Broad Run Baptist Church with a one-hour viewing directly before the service with Rev. William L. Coffindaffer officiating.

Dale Stephen Campbell
Dale Stephen Campbell, 63, formerly of Weston, died Friday, September 5, 2008, at his residence in Fredericksburg, Va., following an extended illness.
He is survived by his former wife, Fran Campbell of Parkersburg; a sister, Robin Honaker and husband Don; and family of Weston and Baltimore, Md.; and an aunt, Monnah Craft of Fredericksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delaine and Merle Campbell; and a son, Jason C. Campbell.
Friends were received Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment followed in the Weston Masonic cemetery.

Andrew Kelly Cassidy
Andrew Kelly Cassidy, one-year-old son of Jennifer Gherman and Philip Adam Cassidy, of Weston, passed away at 10:39 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2008, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston, following a brief illness.
He was born in Morgantown on August 15, 2007.
Andrew is survived by one brother, John Michael Gherman; and one sister, Abigail Gherman, at home. He is also survived by maternal grandmother, Rosemary Coates of Los Gatos, Calif.; paternal grandparents, Phil and Evelyn Cassidy of Hambleton; and paternal great-grandmother, Catherine Hinkle of Hambleton.
Andrew was a member of the Victory Assembly of God of Weston.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Wednesday, September 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Victory Assembly of God of Weston with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Parsons City cemetery of Parsons.

Albert J. Crislip
Albert J. "Jennings" Crislip, 99, formerly of Jane Lew, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Crestview Manor Nursing Home of Jane Lew.
He was born in Vadis on November 26, 1908; son of the late Albert V. Crislip and Mary N. (Rexroad) Crislip.
On January 25, 1930, he married Genevie A. (Davisson) Crislip, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Janis Rogers and husband Bill of Jane Lew; and one son, Albert Crislip and wife Carol of Weston. Jennings is survived by six grandchildren, Larry Crislip and companion Barbara, Barbara Millhoff and husband Bob, both of Murphysboro, Ill., Randy Rogers and wife Cindy of Manassas, Va., Ron Rogers and wife Sandy of Nokesville, Va., Ed Rogers and fiance Cindy of Winchester, Va., and Bill Rogers and wife Debbie of Vadis; nine great-grandchildren, Jeff Crislip, Raquel Holt and husband Donnie, Scott and companion Kristy, and Tommy, Danny, Brent, Hayley, Taylor and Dylan Rogers; and two great-great-grandchildren, Destiny and Allen Radcliff. Also surviving are great-nieces and nephews, Janet Waggoner, Kermit, Kenneth, Verland and Richard West, Raymond and Gary Barbarow, Tommy and Steve Crislip, Mary Jean Quarberg and Diana Carder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Magnus (Dutch) Crislip; three sisters, Ethel Crislip Young, Sylvia Crislip Barbarow and Ruth Crislip Chrislip; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crislip was an employee of Weston State Hospital and was a member of the Electrical Workers Union, both for 17 years. He lived in Vadis for most of his life and moved to Jane Lew 32 years ago. Jennings was Methodist by faith. He loved vegetable gardening, carpentry and making knives and canes. Mr. Crislip has many wonderful friends, neighbors and caregivers.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston on Saturday, September 13. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel. Interment followed in the Carder cemetery of Vadis.

Betty Ann Green
Betty Ann Green, 65, of 358 Mid Avenue, Weston, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2008, at home following an extended illness.
She was born in Lewis County on July 5, 1943; daughter of the late Henry Clay Allman and Mae Elizabeth (Parker) Allman.
On December 31, 1986, she married Floyd V. Green, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Allen of Weston and Anis Baer of Lost Creek. In addition to her daughters, Mrs. Green is survived by four grandchildren, Elizabeth Henline, Brayden Baer, Alexander Brown and Joshua Brown; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Heath. Mrs. Green is also survived by one brother, William Allman of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by one grandchild, Charlotte Bailey; two brothers, Henry and Leroy Allman; and two sisters, Pauline Calhoun and Clara Goldsmith.
Mrs. Green was a homemaker.
At the request of Mrs. Green, her body will be cremated. There will be no public visitation or services.
Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston handled arrangements for Mrs. Green.

Robert Allen Jordan
Robert Allen Jordan, 52, of Richwood, went home to be with family at 5:28 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2008.
Bobby passed away after a very brief and difficult battle with lung cancer at the residence of his sister-in-law in Webster Springs, with family at his side.
He was born November 23, 1955, the youngest son of Bertha Ann Parsons Jordan and the late James Leon Jordan.
Bobby was a 1973 graduate of Richwood High School. He was employed by Snowshoe Resort, Snowshoe, WV, for many years in several capacities. Bobby loved playing video games, cooking, fishing and hunting. He was Baptist by faith.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jackie Hebb; maternal grandparents, Wilma and Dempsey Parsons; paternal grandparents, Guy Jordan and Reba Collins; mother and father-in-law, Wanda and Orbie Nicholas; and brother-in-law, Robert Nicholas.
Bobby will be sadly missed by his wife of 16 years, Norma Nicholas Jordan of Richwood; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Ann and Gil Jacob of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; granddaughter, Isabella Jacob of Niagara Falls; mother, Ann Jordan formerly of Richwood, now residing in Franklin; brother, Henry Jordan of Franklin; one nephew, Jeremiah Jordan of Elkton, Va.; three nieces, Heather Jordan of Harrisonburg, Va., Destiny and Jordan Hebb of Ohio; brother-in-law, Wayne Hebb of Ohio; step-daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Jo and Torie Perkins of Elkins; brothers-in-law, Steve Nicholas of Richwood and Johnny “Butch” Nicholas of Richwood; and sister-in-law, Gloria “Cookie” Nicholas-Brown of Webster Springs.
At Bobby’s request, his body was cremated.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Vicki Lynn Whetstone
Vicki Lynn Whetstone, 51, of Weston, died Friday, September 12, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness.
She was born November 25, 1956, in Weston, a daughter of the late Chester Butcher and Virginia Patterson Butcher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Robert Whetstone in 1987; and one sister, Regina Strader.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessica Barnett and husband Aaron of Grant Town, and Jennifer Whetstone of Weston; one sister, Martha Gum of Churchville; and several nieces and nephews.
Vicki enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was Pentecostal by faith.
Friends were received Sunday, September 14, at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Peterson Siding cemetery, Roanoke.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family, c/o Jessica Barnett, P.O. Box 341, Grant Town, WV 26574.

Connie Sinnette Bell Jr.
Connie Sinnette Bell Jr., 55, of 300 Broad Street, Weston, passed away on October 7, 2007, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital suddenly.
He was born in Summersville on October 13, 1952; son of the late Connie Bell Sr. and Margaret Bell.
Mr. Bell is survived by one daughter, Angela Waybright of Craigsville and one son, Travis Bell of Summersville. In addition to his children, he is also survived by three grandchildren, Jacob, LeeAnn and Tyler Waybright. Also surviving are four brothers, James, George, Fred and Robin Bell; and five sisters, Linda, Alice, Freda, Mary Lou and Tana.
Connie loved to hunt, work crossword puzzles, and was an avid sports fan, he especially loved football. Mr. Bell will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held for Connie Sinnette Bell Jr. at a later date. Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston is in charge of the arrangements for Connie Sinnette Bell Jr.

Alice Burke
Alice Lorraine Pritchard McDonald Burke, 85, formerly of Weston, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home, Monongah, following an extended illness.
She was born February 9, 1923, in Weston, a daughter of the late Robert Pritchard and Pauline Brewster Pritchard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Charles Bernard McDonald and Joseph Burke; and sisters, Mary Catherine Rueckl and Peggy Gibson.
She is survived by one daughter, Alicia Ann McDonald Hutton and husband Larry of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; and one son, Charles Robert McDonald and wife Cynthia of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Susan and Leh Hutton and Christy, Robert and Stacy McDonald; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Alice graduated from Weston High School and attended the University of New Mexico and West Virginia University.
She worked in the Lewis County School System as a teacher's assistant.
She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Friends were received Monday, October 13, at Boyle Funeral Home, Weston. A Rosary service was held at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Reverend Father Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant. Interment followed in Weston Masonic cemetery.
