Wyatt Gene Snider
Wyatt Gene Snider, of Weston, went to be with God Saturday, August 7, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born August 6, 2011, in Weston, the son of Charlotte Snider and her fiancé Kevin Claude Higgins.
He is survived by grandparents, Connie Faye Smith and Larry A. Snider; great-grandparents, Charlotte Faye Smith and Ronald Gene Smith; one uncle, Larry A. Snider, II; one great-uncle, Randy Gene Smith; and one great-aunt, Ronda Jean Cogar, all of Weston.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, at Pleasant Hill cemetery, Kincheloe, with Reverend Randall Hughes officiating.

Keith Alexander Brown
Keith Alexander Brown, 25, of 22 Canyon Village Morgantown, formerly of Weston, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown.
He was born in Lewis County on January 20, 1986; the only child of Jeff Brown and Beverly (Sprouse) Brown of Morgantown.
He was the grandson of Marie Sprouse and the late Harold Sprouse of Weston and Gen Yerkey also of Weston.
Keith had many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, that he loved very much.
Keith was a high school graduate of the Alternative Learning Center of Morgantown. He was an active NASCAR fan and even had a chance to meet his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon.
Keith was a very special child and his parents will miss him very much. The comfort they have is that he is running to his Grandpa in heaven.
Family received friends at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, Weston, on Wednesday, September 14, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services were held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment followed services in the Mt. Morris cemetery, Valley Chapel Road Lewis County.

John C. Burkhart
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home for former Weston Mayor John C. Burkhart, 83, who passed away at his West Sixth Street residence on Monday evening.
Burkhart served as Mayor of Weston from 1992 through 1999. Current Weston Mayor Julia Spelsberg said of Burkhart, "I have known John and his family for a long time and am very saddened by his passing. He was a very sweet man who led the city with wisdom and fairness. He was well-respected by the community and the city employees who worked under him while he was mayor."
The former mayor was born in Jane Lew, on Sept. 2, 1928, the youngest son of the late William Alexandra and Pearl Melton Burkhart. On June 25, 1955, he married the former Shirley Simpson, who survives.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Burkhart is survived by his children Kimberly George and husband, Mark of Williamstown; Janet Kirby of San Diego, Calif.; and John Jay Burkhart and wife Beth Ann of Walkersville; six grandchildren: Timothy John George of Boulder, Colo.; Shery (George) Grogan of Fredericksburg, Va.; Amy (Kirby) Wallace of San Diego, Calif.; Brittany (Kirby) Craig of Fairmont; and Bethany and Jayme Burkhart of Walkersville; two great-grandchildren, Madison and London Wallace; and his faithful Labrador Daisy, who stayed by his side until the end. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bill, Harold, and Jim as well as his great-grandson Preston Craig.
Mr. Burkhart attended the First Baptist Church of Weston and was a member of Georgetown Community Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea in 1950-1952 and was the retired plant manager of Greif Brothers. Mr. Burkhart gave several years of civic duty. In addition to serving as Mayor of Weston, he served as a Weston City Councilman from July 1981 to July 1991. He was a member of VFW Post #1976; former member of Moose Lodge #1376; past volunteer at Lewis County Emergency Squad; and served as president of the Lewis County Senior Citizens Board of Directors from 1994 through 1996. Mr. Burkhart enjoyed many things in life, including a rousing game of cards with his friends at the Weston Volunteer Fire Department and the Lewis County Senior Center.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. Military honors will be provided by the Lewis County Honor Guard.

M. Ralph Hall
Funeral Services were held on Monday, at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home for former Lewis County Sheriff M. Ralph Hall. Hall served as sheriff from from 1980 - 1988.
Hall, 63, of 801 Old Route 33 Weston, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born in Weston on March 25, 1948; son of the late A.M.W. Hall and Opal Mae (Blake) Hall of Weston.
Mr. Hall married Wanda Grace (Hardman) Hall, who preceded him in death on July 2, 2008.
He is survived by three children: Warren Todd (Lisa) Hall of Horner, Ralph Scott (Regina) Hall of Weston and Stephanie Hall (Brian) Williams of Grayson, Ky.; 17 grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Todra, Tasha, Colton, Tiffani, Laci, Andrea, Dylan, Montana, Madison, Cody, MaKayla, Haylee, Kelsie, April and Charles; three great-grandchildren: Mackenah, Bryant and Bryson; and fiancé: Kim Groves.. He is also survived by two sisters: Marcella Hall Linger and Sayrann Hall Stalnaker, both of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father and wife, Ralph was preceded in death by one son: Wade Andrew Price Hall; one brother: Andrew Warren Hall; and one sister: Stella Pearl Hall.
Mr. Hall was a self-employed equipment operator and was a member of the Weston Moose Lodge #1376.
Ralph loved to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle. But of all the things he enjoyed, Ralph loved to work!
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, Weston, on Sunday, September 18, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Bill Dawson officiating. Interment followed services in Wanda's Garden cemetery of Horner.

Avery Michael Miller
Avery Michael Miller, infant son of Patrick Callahan and Heather Michelle Stout Miller, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Calvin and Fern Kline of Franklin; paternal grandparents, Rob and Sandra Miller of Buckhannon; paternal great-grandmothers, Teresa Grace Phillips and Eleanor Jo Miller, both of Buckhannon.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Thomas R. Moneypenny
Thomas R. Moneypenny of Perry Hall, Md., entered into eternal rest at 9:04 a.m. September 12, 2011.
He was the beloved son of Ethel M. Moneypenny and the late Thomas L. Moneypenny; devoted father of Tracie L. Pullen and her husband, Andy; dear grandfather of Liam, Rachael and Jenna Pullen. He was also survived by three nieces of Pennsylvania. Several cousins also survived, including Janie Wagner of Maryland and Delores Thompson of West Virginia.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation was held at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., Belair Road, Kingsville, on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. Interment was in Bel Air Memorial Gardens where military rites were accorded.

Samuel Joseph Oldaker Sr
Samuel Joseph Oldaker Sr., 85, of Weston passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011, in Sunbridge Nursing Home of Salem following an extended illness.
He was born in Pennsylvania on June 4, 1926; son of the late John Curry Oldaker and Reba (McIntyre) Oldaker.
Mr. Oldaker first married the late Wilda Francis (Means) Oldaker and he then married Mary Elizabeth Oldaker, who also preceded him in death.
Mr. Oldaker is survived by three daughters: Linda Sue Clem, Sandra Kay Oldaker and Kimberly Diane Oldaker all of Weston; three sons: Samuel Joseph (Mary) Oldaker Jr. of Glen Burnie, Md., Terry Lynn (Pam) Oldaker of Elkview and James Michael (Mary) Oldaker of Jane Lew; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was also survived by one sister: Joyce Lee Bateman of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and two wives, Mr. Oldaker was preceded in death by two brothers: John Junior and Arnold M. Oldaker; and one sister: Jenny McIntyre.
Mr. Oldaker retired from the Weston Sanitary Board with 35 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. His greatest joy was being with his family.
Family received friends at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, Weston, on Sunday, September 18, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Ronnie Beeson officiating. Interment followed services in the Waldeck cemetery, Weston.

Diana Sue Paxton
Diana Sue Paxton, 65, of Main Street Jane Lew, passed away September 14, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.
She was born in Baltimore, Md., November 12, 1945, the daughter of the late Edwin Wirt Swisher and Wilma Gillispie Swisher.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Carroll Dean Paxton of Vineland, New Jersey; one daughter, Pamela Jane Paxton and Patrick Sergent of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Hannah Rose Paxton and Holly Shiria Paxton, both of Morgantown; one sister, Barbara McCarty of Jane Lew; and two brothers, John David Swisher and wife Carroll of John's Island, South Carolina, and Richard (Dick) Swisher and wife Sharon of Moundsville.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Judith Kelley, and her stepfather, Paul Shea.
Diana was interested in family history and genealogy, was a member of the Clarksburg Art Center, where she participated in the productions of Annie and Man of LaMancha, was talented in arts and crafts, making of costumes and was adorned by her sense of humor. Diana was a graduate of Jane Lew High School Class of 1964, attended Glenville State College and received her B.A. degree from Fairmont State College in 1992, was a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church and the church choir.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home of Jane Lew Saturday afternoon from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Morris Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, September 18, at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Coffindaffer officiating. Burial followed int he Fairview Friendship cemetery.

Avenell June Douglas
Avenell June (Allman) Douglas, 84, formerly of 620 Center Ave, Weston, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Crestview Manor, Jane Lew, following an extended illness.
She was born June 6, 1927, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late David Bryan and Dora Violet (Law) Allman.
On October 5, 1946, she married Ralph Carl "Doug" Douglas Jr, who preceded her in death in 2001, after 55 years of marriage.
June is survived by her loving family - her sons, John Joseph Douglas and his fiancé Debbie Hashman of Weston, and Stephen Criss Douglas, and his wife Nina of Charlotte, N.C.; and one daughter, Robin Douglas Helms of Matthews, N.C.; two sisters, Kathryn Burnside of Good Hope, and Delores Twigg of Bridgeport; and two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Allman and Joellen Allman, both of Good Hope; eight grandchildren, Eric Shane Douglas Martin of St Petersburg, Fla., Jennifer Dodrill of Bridgeport, Steven Douglas of Snellville, Ga., Tess McCourt of Washington, Pa., Rachael and Olivia Douglas of Ft Mill, S.C., and Jared and Conner Helms of Matthews, N.C.
She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Max, Joseph and Jaryn Dodrill, all of Bridgeport; and Zachary Douglas of Snellville, Ga., as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Carder, and two brothers, William Allman and David Allman, all of Good Hope.
June was very spiritual, sweet, kind, fun, generous, caring and a wonderfully vibrant lady, who never met a stranger. She loved to garden, cook, golf, decorate, shop, and travel, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always there to lend a hand, and was giving - to a fault. She volunteered for a number of organizations, including Head Start, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lewis Bennett Library, Lewis County Schools, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Voice of the Democracy, and served on the Board of Directors at Deerfield Country Club. She served on numerous committees for the Crystal Ball and Cotillion Club, among others, as well as Weston High School and Unidis class reunions, 201st Infantry reunions, and family reunions. She worked for Montgomery Ward in both Weston and Salisbury, Md., for several years, and then went to work at the Weston State Hospital in the Maintenance Dept. until she retired in 1988. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest, until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002. June was a faithful member of St Matthew United Methodist Church, and joyously sang in the church choir for many years.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at Boyle Funeral Home, 322 Main Avenue, Weston. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Justin Mark Fisher
Justin Mark Fisher, age 28 of Ireland, WV, the Falls Mill Community, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Ireland. He was born July 8, 1983 in Watertown, NY, a son of Karen Eggleton Herbinko and step-father, Michael A. Herbinko of Ireland. Also surviving is his grandparents, Owen C. and Kendra J. Prescott Eggleton of Crawford, WV and Uncle and Aunt, Mark Eggleton and wife Anne of Richmond, VA.
Justin was a cook at the KFC in Flatwoods, WV.
The family requested cremation and a private family service will be held at a later time.

Ethel Jean Frum
Ethel Jean Stanard Frum passed away on Oct. 11, 2011, at the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew.
She was born Sept. 16, 1915, in Weston.
She is survived by her son, Charles Frum and his wife Janet of West Union; her daughter, Beverly Ann Jennings of Arlington, Texas, and her daughter, Suzie and her husband Roger Frederick of Weston. She is also survived by three grandsons, Jayson Frum and wife Jennifer of Ocean Beach, M\d., David Frederick and wife Melanie of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Mike Jennings and wife Donna of Arlington, Texas; two granddaughters, Beverly Angus and husband Randall of Silverton and Melinda Frederick of Petersburg. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ava Belle Craddock Stanard and Cecil Joe Stanard; her husband D. M (Dick) Frum; three sisters, Cecil Jo (Polly) Stanard Hill, Virginia (Virgie) Stanard Ellis and Polly Stanard Kock. She was also preceded in death by one son, Micheal Stanard Frum; and one daughter, Ava Jean Frum Ertel; two grandsons, Charles Tyson Frum and John Andrew (Andy) Frederick
Mrs. Frum was a home maker for many years and lived with her family in several different areas of West Virginia. In 1964, she returned to college to get her degree in education and attended college with her three daughters. She received her Bachelors degree in 1966 and later received her Masters in Education at WVU. Mrs. Frum taught for many years at Polk Creek Elementary School and Central Elementary School in Weston. She was involved in 4-H for most of her life, she was an avid card player, especially bridge. In later years she spent a lot of time at the Lewis County Senior Citizen's facility and always enjoyed life to the fullest.
As per her wishes, there will not be a funeral. Her body will be donated to the West Virginia University Medical School. A Memorial Service and Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Barbara Dell (Fortney) Keister
Barbara Dell (Fortney) Keister, 73, of 124 1st Street Weston, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 7, 2011 in United Hospital Center of Bridgeport following an extended illness. She was born in Weston in Lewis County on May 5, 1938: daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Fortney and Wanda Hilda (Heckert) Fortney.
Mrs. Keister is survived by four children: Anita (Randy) White of Alum Bridge (grandchild Hunter), Crystal (Ronnie) Beeson of Weston (grandchildren Ronda, Forrest, & Azzlea), Debbie (Chip) Queen of Jane Lew (grandchildren Jason & Jamie; great grandchildren Riley & Keaton) and Randy (Kim) Keister of Bowling Green, KY (grandchildren Paige ,Beca & Chase; great grandchild Paisley) and several nieces and nephews. She was particularly close with her nephew Charles Ruppert and nieces: Wanda Lou Taylor , Barbara Autrey and Bridget (Fortney) Bazzinotti. Barbara is also survived by her former husband: James Larry Keister. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Keister was preceded in death by four sisters: Arzetta Fortney, Evalena Grant, Maxine Ruppert and Hilda Loubell Ruppert and two brothers: Frank (Bud) Fortney and Charles (Chuck) Fortney.
Barbara was a protestant and attended Lost Creek Church of God. She was a home health provider for a number of years and truly enjoyed helping others. Some of her hobbies and interests included playing Bingo, sewing, working puzzles and cooking.
She will be remembered for her zest for life and easy going sense of humor. She never met a stranger and her greatest joy in life were serving the Lord and spending time with her family and friends. Our loss is Heavens gain.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Palett Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Ronnie Beeson and Reverend Stephen White officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV.
