Bryan Gene Ocheltree
Bryan Gene Ocheltree, formally of Churchville, passed away November 9, 2012 suddenly at his home in Sewanee, Tenn.
Bryan was born in Newton Falls, Ohio on July 10, 1967 to Doy Ocheltree of N. C. and the late Cora Ellen Ocheltree.
Bryan worked at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., as a assistant equipment manager of sports.
Bryan leaves behind four sisters, Sue (Shidmore) Hinkle of Buckhannon, Judy Ebie of Va., Patty Sandfore of Md., and Lynn (Heater) Higley of Waynesboro, Va.; one brother, Roger Ocheltree of Pa., and many other relatives. He will be missed by his family and friends.
At Bryan's request, he was cremated.

Mavis Anne "Aggie" Ross
Mavis Anne "Aggie" Ross, age 48, of New Milton, Rush Run Community, passed away December 17, 2012 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport as a result of injuries sustained from a work related accident.
She was born Parkersburg: daughter of Robert and Maureen (McCray) Whitehair of Harrisville.
Aggie worked for David Bowyer Farms. She loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter. She especially loved coon hunting, deer hunting and bear hunting with her daughter, Sara. She was president of the Doddridge County Coonhunter's Association and had rescued over 200 dogs for Animal Control in the Doddridge area. Aggie had a great love for animals and people. She never saw a stranger.
Surviving is her husband, Fred Ross; daughters, Teresa Setola (Chris Davis) of Morganton, N.C., and Sara Bennett of the home; son, Kevin (Lindsay) Setola of Clarksburg; sister, Lilly Whitehair of Parkersburg; brother, R.D. Whitehair of Charleston; and her granddaughter, Mavis Johnson of Clarksburg.
Memorial services will be Thursday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m., at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with the Pastor Chris Davis officiating. Visitation of friends and family will be from 5-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Aggie's name to the Doddridge County Coonhunter's Association.

JoAnn Teresa Wertman
JoAnn Teresa Wertman, age 62, of Richmond, Va., died at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 4, 1950 in New Castle, Pa.: daughter of the late Joe and Anna Coloa.
Surviving are one son, Stacy (Stephanie) Wertman of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Christian, Isabella, Haven and Noah; one brother Joey (Linda) Coloa of Ashland, Va.; two nephews Michael and Nicholas Coloa; best friend of 40-years whom she loved so much, Betty Ekabutr of Richmond, Va., and her daughter, Sutessa Ukrop and grandchildren, Hunter and Lexi.
JoAnn owned and operated a daycare for over 17-years. Best known as Nana J. by the many children and their families she cared for and the warmth and affection she shared with them over the years.
She was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Richmond, Va.
JoAnn enjoyed the beach and was forever a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
At JoAnn's request she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in the Outer Banks which she cherish all her life.

John Edgar Brown, Jr.
John Edgar Brown, Jr., age 61, of Crystal Lake, Ill., passed away on April 7, 2013.
He was born in Lewis County on Nov. 28, 1951: son of the late Betty (Titus) Brown and John Edgar Brown, Sr.
In addition to his parents death, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald L. Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by one daughter, Sarah Brown; one son, Nathan Brown and his wife, Allison Brown; two grandchildren, Peyton and Piper Brown;
seven siblings, Priscilla and (Ernie) Lyles of Stafford, Va., Micheal and (Margaret) Brown of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Roy and (Betty) Brown of Weston, Jay and (Debbie) Brown of Buckeye, Ariz; Debbie and (Leo) Lucero of Stafford, Va., Becky Olivas of Albuquerque, N.M., and Sandi and (Carl) Moody of Weston.
He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Bea Brown, wife of Donald L. Brown; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was a retired Press Doctor, an avid reader, he loved his granddaughters dearly and loved riding his Harley Davidson every chance he got.
John was loved by his brothers and sisters and he will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace dear brother.

Alice P. Butcher
Alice P. Butcher, age 88, of 309 Main Avenue of Weston, passed away peacefully at 6:25 p.m., on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Country Living Nursing Home in Jane Lew, following an extended illness.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1924 in Hundred: a daughter of the late George Dewey and Elizabeth Gayle Moore Parish.
On Feb. 10, 1950 she married the love of her life, Paul T. Butcher Jr., and they celebrated 43-years together before his passing in 1993.
She is survived by one daughter, Kris St. Clair and husband, Jeff of Fulshear, Texas; son-in-law, James R. Anderson of Weston; two sisters, Thelma Dawdy of Albuquerque, N.M., and Cleo Kerr and husband, Joseph of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandsons, Christopher P. Anderson and wife, Laura of Weston and Brian St. Clair and wife, Alicia of Cali.; great-grandsons, Aiden P. Anderson and Cody St. Clair; great-granddaughter, Corrie St. Clair; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Kafer and Alma Flesher; and her daughter, Elizabeth Anderson, who just passed away last week.
Alice truly knew how to live, love and laugh. Her passion for life was contagious to all who knew her. After retiring from Consolidated Gas as an administrative assistant, she returned to school and proudly earned a degree from Florida Southern University. She was a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution,) St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Weston, and the Deerfield Country Club where she was active in the Ladies Golf Association.
She loved to sew, spend time with her grandchildren and cook for family and friends who especially enjoyed her delicious homemade Minestrone Soup.
Alice has chosen cremation and a Family and Friends Gathering will be held on Friday May 3, from 5-6 p.m., at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Weston. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6 p.m., from the church with Father John Valentine officiating. Interment will be held in the Broad Run cemetery at a later date.

T/Sgt. Allan D. Cooper
T/Sgt. Allan D. Cooper retired U.S. Air Force, age 80, of US 19 North, Jane Lew died unexpectedly at 3:15 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013 at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1932 in Roanoke: a son of the late James O. and Hettie M. Linger Cooper.
On March 20, 1954 he married the former G. Darlene Mosher, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimala J. Rayworth and husband, Fred B. of Las Vegas, Nev., and Falina A. Henline and husband, Willard of Jane Lew; four grandchildren, Rhonda Raulston, Brooke Rayworth, Jared and Kenneth Henline; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family being preceded in death by six brothers, Rodney L., Verlon G., Robert N., Vernon C., George C., and Donald L. Cooper and one sister, Eloise I. Deckard.
Doug was a graduate of Weston High School and Glenville State College. He was member of the William G. Bennett Lodge 10 of Walkersville, Nemesis Shrine Temple of Parkersburg and the Lewis County Shrine Club.
He was a lifelong member of the Disabled Veterans of America, and was retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs as an accountant/auditor. He served with the U.S. Air Force for 23-years. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and was Methodist by faith.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, from the Mitchell cemetery at Roanoke. Full military honors will be accorded by the Lewis County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Lewis County Shriner Club P.O. Box 933, Weston WV 26452.

Clarence C. Flesher
Clarence C. "Boots" Flesher, age 89, of Jane Lew departed this life on April 21, 2013 at Heartland of Clarksburg Nursing Home and will be reunited with his wife, Mildred Madeline (Lester) Flesher who passed away on Aug. 16, 2000.
He was born on Oct. 7, 1922 in Weston: to the late John Flesher and Marie Lieuvenia (Bonnett) Flesher.
In addition to his parent and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, "Buck" Theophiolphis, John and Truman Flesher; and two sisters, Mamie Flesher, and Vida Meyers
Clarence was a sixth generation descendant of the late Henry Flesher who founded Weston. Private First Class Flesher of the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division and 85th Mountain Infantry Regiment served his county during World War II. During his tour he was stationed in North Apennines, Italy, Po Valley, Italy, Sicily, Italy and Rome-Arno, Italy. During his time in the U.S. Army Mr. Flesher was awarded with the EAME Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars, Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement, Victory Medal, World War II, Good Conduct Medal, Honorable Service Pin and Marksman Badge (Rifle.)
Mr. Flesher belonged to the VFW of Clarksburg and was also an accomplished musician having appeared on multiple radio shows.
Mr. Flesher is survived by two four children, Betty Jane Stout and husband, Jesse, Penny Darlene Flesher, both of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Clarence Steven Flesher and wife, Mary Ann of Avon, Ohio, and Lesley Charles Flesher and wife, Dianne of Good Hope. He was the proud grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of eleven. Also surviving is one sister, Pauline Frey of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Clarence C. "Boots" Flesher were Tuesday, April 23, at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 North Main Avenue of Weston, from 4-8 p.m. Gravesides services will be Wednesday, April 24, at 11 a.m., at Broad Run cemetery in Jane Lew, with Rev. Rodney Heckert officiating.

Claude E. McHenry, Sr.
Claude E. McHenry, Sr., age 87, of Orrville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on April 23, 1925, in Glenville, WV, the son of Hoy and Edna (Messenger) McHenry, and was united in marriage to Louvone Helmick on July 21, 1946, in Linn, WV. She survives.
Claude had been a resident of Orrville since 1962, and had been employed in the maintenance department for the Orrville City Schools for thirteen years prior to retiring.
He was a member of the Orrville Christian Church, where he was a past president and member of the Faithful Followers Class. He was a past president and former member of the Kidney Foundation of Wayne County for many years.
Claude enjoyed his grandchildren, watching softball at Orr Park, cooking, and playing cards. He was a twenty three year cancer survivor.
In addition to his wife, Louvone, he is survived by four daughters, Mary (Jim) Saunders, Sr. of Canton, Linda (Junior) Kerns of Clyde, OH, Sheila (Doc) Burrows of Willard, OH, and Sally (Keith) Hartzler of Sterling; two sons, Eugene McHenry of Orrville and Richard (Tess) McHenry of Maineville, OH; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim (Joann) McHenry of Glenville, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Naomi Jackson, brothers, Hoy, Herman, Harley and Dana McHenry, and sisters, Irene Riffle, Pauline Wells and Opal McHenry.
Services will be held at Orrville Christian Church in Orrville on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at the funeral home web site at www.aublefuneralhome.com.

Larry Stephen Riffle
Larry Stephen Riffle, age 65, of Buckhannon: passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown following a brief illness. He was born in Weston on March 7, 1948: son of the late Edward Jarrett Riffle and Velma Mae (Defnall) Riffle. On Aug. 1, 2001 he married Marsha Wayts Riffle, who survives.
Mr. Riffle is also survived by two sons, Chris (Eileen) Riffle of Lorain, Ohio and Seth Dowell of Buckhannon; one grandchild, Erik Riffle of Lorain, Ohio; and one soon-to-be great-grandchild, Allison Nicole Riffle. He is also survived by two sisters, Donna Hershberger of Buckhannon and Joyce Lamb of Jane Lew; and several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Mr. Riffle was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Riffle in 1989.
Mr. Riffle was an order processor with General Motors with 30-years of service. He was also a 30-year member of the UAW Union. Larry loved any kind of racing especially NASCAR and his favorite driver the Intimidator Dale Earnhardt. Larry also loved to restore cars, but not just any cars they had to be Chevrolets. His three favorite car restoration where his 1956 Chevy, his Camaro and his Silverado truck. Larry was also involved in the development of the Lewis County Speedway and Drag Strip.
Family received friends at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 North Main Avenue in Weston on Thursday, April 18, from 4-8 p.m.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 19, at 3 p.m., from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Miller and best friend, Steve DeBrular officiating.
Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Jane Lew. Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home of Weston will be caring for the Riffle family.
