Nancy L. Cole
Nancy L. Cole, age 93, died on October 22, 2013.
Born on June 21, 1920, in Weston: she was the daughter of the late Aubrey F. and Lotta L Lawson. She graduated from Weston High School in 1938, and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon and worked at her father's hospital, General Hospital of Weston, before moving to Fort Wayne, Ind.
In Fort Wayne she was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Orchard Ridge Country Club, past member of Trinity Chapter O.E.S., the Fort Wayne Women's Club and the Arthur Murray dance studio. She was also a member of the league of Women Voters, Yarnelle Child Study Group and a volunteer at Parkview Hospital in the first group of surgical hostesses.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Carol Stidd of Fort Wayne; grandson, Elliott Stidd; sister-in-law, Louise Lawson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; nephews, Scott (Valerie) Lawson, and their son, Scott of S.C., and Robert (Martha) Lawson, and their daughter, Holly of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. Cole, in 1972; and brother, John F. Lawson, in 1997.
Funeral service were 1 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 28, at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Calling was held from 2 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to her grandson's college education.

Lela Gay Creasy
Lela Gay Creasy, age 89, of Walkersville, passed away on October 27, 2013, in Nellas Nursing Home in Crystal Springs, following an extended illness.
She was born on April 3, 1924: the daughter of the late Luther Martin Prince and Bertha Ethel (Carter) Prince.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vixon F. Creasy, on May 31, 2009 and one niece, Diana Simpson.
Mrs. Creasy is survived by nephews, Hayward (Tammy) Prince of Oklahoma, James (Pat) Prince of Ireland, and niece Drema Bender of Walkersville.
Also surviving are two special friends, Lavon Jordan of Walkersville and Juanita "Grace" Hamilton of Crawford.
Mrs. Creasy loved to fish, sew, garden, can vegetables, and was a great cook. Mrs. Creasy was also an animal lover. She loved her dog and friend, Ge-Ge, unconditionally.
At Mrs. Creasy's request, cremation has been honored. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Green Hill cemetery, where she will be reunited with her husband.

Dr. Edward Earl Richards
Dr. Edward Earl Richards of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at UHC Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1944 in Kincheloe: the son of the late Frank and Lora Maxine (Skidmore) Richards of Kincheloe.
He is survived by the love of his life, Marilyn Manzo Richards; four children, Shana Richards of Cali., Annette (Greg) Lloyd of Haymarket, Va., Aaron (Mai-lan) Richards of Hurricane, and Mary Ann Richards and fiancé Jeff Tucker of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Drew, Brenden, Todd and Tanner of Haymarket, Va., and Lilly "Beanie" of Bridgeport; five sisters, Wanda Shank of Loudenville, Ohio, Lena and Bob Trippett of Parkersburg, Thelma and Butch Shaffer of Westfield, Lora and Hayward Wright of Camden, Phyllis and Ed Harden of Huber Heights, Ohio; four brothers, Eugene and Peggy Richards of West Milford, Roger and Gigi Richards of Jane Lew, Bernard and Terry Richards of Jane Lew, Wilbert and Beverly Richards of Copley, and many nieces and nephews.
Dr. Richards retired from Soles Electric of Fairmont as safety director. His passion for learning earned him a doctorate degree. Ed was still actively pursuing additional education in law. Ed had a deep love for his family and cherished his time with them. His heart was even bigger than the smile he greeted everyone with. He loved to laugh and always had an uplifting attitude.
When it came to fitness, Ed never realized he wasn't a teenager. His favorite place was the gym and it showed. Even his son, Aaron, couldn't keep up. Above everything else, he had a love for the Lord that was shown in everything he did. We know we will see you again. If you were still here, I know what you would tell us. "I'll be the happy face waiting on you." Until then, we love you and miss you more than we can ever say.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Ed's memory to the U.S. Veterans at www.veteransinc.org.
Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m., and on Monday from 2 - 8 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., with Paster Bill Gum, of Halesville Church of Weston, officiating the service.
Interment will follow in the West Virginia National cemetery in Pruntytown. The West Virginia Army Honor Guard and the Harrison County Honor Guard will provide full military rites. Ford Funeral Home of Bridgeport is entrusted with much appreciation with the arrangements. They have gone above and beyond with service, arrangements and the showing of compassion during this time.

Bobby Gene Roberts
Bobby Gene Roberts. age 82, Route 5 West of Glenville, Lower Cedar Creek Community, departed this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by family and friends following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 25, 1931 in Pike County, Ky.: son of the late Sam and Madge Bell Roberts.
Bobby Gene was a farmer all his life. He also had a sawmill and timber service. He retired from the WV Department of Agriculture, in the Animal Health Division, with 23-years of service, and ran the Roberts Riding Stable for over 10-years.
Bobby Gene loved to play music and played at the West Virginia Folk Festival for over 40-years. He was also a Methodist by faith.
On Oct. 30, 1993 he was united in marriage to Ruth Barnett, who survives at their home.
Surviving are two sons, Jeff (Robin) Roberts of Glenville and Carl Roberts of Glenville; three step-daughters, Jeanne (Earnest) Richards of Lockney, Jenny Starcher of Glenville and Barbara Smith of Glenville; and two brothers, Reggie (Rose) Roberts of Glenville and John Paul (Doris) Roberts of Glenville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bobby Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Madge Bell Roberts.
Funeral Services were conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive in Glenville at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, with Rev. Joe Sealey and Rev. Phil Wilson officiating.
Burial followed in the Pisgah cemetery, Route 5 West of Glenville, at the mouth of Holts Run Road. Friends called from 4-8 p.m., on Friday at the Mortuary.
Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Bobby Gene Roberts with arrangements.

Ada Madeline Adams
Ada Madeline Adams, age 93, 207 Willow Street in Weston, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her residence, following a brief illness.
She was born in Gilmer County on Oct. 15, 1920: daughter of the late Charles S. Adams and Ada (Brannon) Adams.
Mrs. Adams is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Sue Hinter. In addition to her parents and husband, Earl Knopp, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Woodrow Adams; and four sisters, Bertha L. Byrd, Carrie Adams Powell, Ida Belle Ware and Mary Burton.
Mrs. Adams was the head accountant for B.F. Goodrich Company of Akron, Ohio. She worked for the company for 42-years. She was a graduate of Gilmer County High School.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue in Weston on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m., from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Interment will follow services in the Troy IOOF cemetery of Troy.

Robert J. Conley
Robert J. Conley, age 84, of the Jordanville Community in Weston passed away at 8:27 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving caregivers, George and Rebecca Bonnell. He was born in Jordanville on July 5, 1929: the son of the late Ernest Gregory Conley and Opal Greenlief Conley.
Bob was a graduate of Glenville State College and did graduate study in political science and criminology at West Virginia University and American University in Washington, D.C. He was also a participant in the Robert A. Taft Government Study Foundation. Mr. Conley taught English and history at the old Weston Junior High School.
He was chairman of the Republican caucus in the House of Delegates, was mentioned frequently as a potential gubernatorial candidate in 1992. He always won by an overwhelming majority and usually received the highest percentage of votes of any candidate in the state. While in the House of Delegates, Conley was considered an ardent leader of the conservatives. He never voted for a tax increase during his 12-years in the Legislature. He would often say, "I never saw a tax increase that I liked."
During his legislative tenure, he was an influential member of the powerful House Finance Committee. He also served on the following committees: education, roads and transportation, banking and insurance, health and human services, the Joint House-Senate Committee on Higher Education, and the Joint House-Senate Committee on Finance. He was a member of the House Finance Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Finance Subcommittee on Economic Development.
Bob also served six terms on the Lewis County Commission. He was responsible for getting the land and development of the little league ball field at Butchersville, land and development for the Lewis County Senior Center and infrastructure and improved water projects in Lewis County, as well as keeping taxes down in the county.
He was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church, former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Loyal Order of Moose, the Lewis County Farm Bureau, the Lewis County Association of Retired School Employees, and the National Rifle Association. He was also the founder of the Lewis County Taxpayers Association. He was a fourth generation great-grandson of John Hacker, the first pioneer settler in Lewis County and is a member of the Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants.
Bob is survived by his twin sisters, Jean C. Jasper of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jane C. Kallenborn of Woodstock, Va.; four nieces, Lisa T. Myers, Debra L. Stephenson, Sarah Bell Dodson and Kay Bunsow; four nephews, Gregory A. Myers, Joseph M. Turner, Christopher Stephenson, and Joseph Copley; great-nephew, Mason T. Myers; and his cherished lifelong friend, Ronnie Bonnell.
Friends and family gathered at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew 6-8 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 29.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 30, from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Butcherville cemetery in Weston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Delegate Conley to the Lewis County Emergency Squad at 155 2nd St. Weston WV 26452, or the Weston Fire Department at 321 Center Avenue, Weston, WV, 26452.

Wayne Lee Donaldson
Wayne Lee Donaldson, age 48, of Mid Avenue in Weston, passed away at 10:26 p.m., on Monday, November 25, 2013 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, following a courageous journey to recover from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born in Lewis County on Jan. 1, 1965: a son of the late Frank Edward Donaldson and Lona Elta Parmer Donaldson Henry, who lives in Weston.
On April 27, 1995 he married the love of his life, the former Candace Lee Wilson and they enjoyed 17 years-of-marriage.
Wayne's spirit for adventure and love for life will be carried in his two children, Christopher (Kristin) Donaldson and Deadra Elta Donaldson, all of Weston; two grandchildren, Emma and Emily Donaldson; five siblings, Joetta (George) Anderson of Jane Lew, Barbara (Roy) Dadisman of Philippi, Rebecca (John) Bales, Frank Edward (Renee) Donaldson Jr., Kathy (Darryl) Birkhammer, all of Weston; cherished friend, Richard Elliott of Weston; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Marley and Kiarra, who miss him very much.
He was employed as a truck driver for Elite Oil and Gas Services. "Big Dog" was a Charter Member of 1376 Rider's Group and a member of Hogs and Heroes WV Chapter 1, and the Weston Loyal Order of Moose. He felt most alive when he was saddled on his 2010 Harley Davidson Street Glide, traveling the open road and riding like the wind. He and Candy often rode in poker runs for charitable organizations and fundraising events. He also enjoyed deer hunting, watching action adventure movies, and spending time with his grandchildren. Whatever he did, he did with all his heart.
Wayne's request for cremation has been honored and friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Road in Jane Lew on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1-3 p.m.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 p.m., from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wease Day officiating.
Wayne invites his biker family to join him for his "Last Ride," which will be held in the spring. It will be an extraordinary ride to honor friendships forged through the years and share memories of their many adventures with "Big Dog." The details will be announced at a later date.

Oakley Monroe Kirkpatrick
Heaven has been graced with the arrival of its newest angel, Oakley Monroe Kirkpatrick who was just one and a half months old when she got her wings after being called home to God in the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pa., at 2:20 p.m., on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
She blessed this earth and the lives of her parents, Charles Aaron Kirkpatrick and Megan Grace Dempsey Kirkpatrick, at 6:19 a.m., on Oct. 12. With just one look into her twinkling little eyes, they fell in love and formed an everlasting bond with this precious little soul. Although her life was short, it was certainly sweet, as she touched the hearts and lives of not only family and friends, but strangers far and wide who felt her promise of hope and peace this holiday season.
Her sweet, innocent spirit will be carried on in her family, which includes two sisters, Kami Grace Dempsey and Journey Lenay Dempsey; paternal grandparents, Susan Kirkpatrick of Glenville and Joey Kirkpatrick of Lost Creek; maternal grandparents, MaryAnn and Barry Dempsey of Weston and Gigi and Poppy of Mingo County; paternal great-grandmother, Genny Kirkpatrick of Glenville; maternal great-grandmother, Francis Janette Dempsey of Weston; five aunts and uncles, Tommy and Amber Kirkpatrick of Pt. Pleasant, Carrie and John Ozales of Charleston, Monica Dempsey of Butler, Pa., Melissa Miller and Marla Dempsey, both of Weston; several cousins; and her favorite little doll, pet zebra and monkey.

Interment followed in the Rock Grove cemetery in Linn.

James Floyd Rogers
James Floyd Rogers, age 82, of West Milford, passed away November 30, 2013 at 505 a.m.
He was born at McWhorter on June 20, 1931: son of the late Jesse Albert and Audrey Minnicn Rogers.
He was married to Alice Lee Morris Rogers, who preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 2012. Surviving are two sons, James Wayne (Susie) Rogers of Tulsa, Okla., and Leon Mark (Tamra) Rogers of West Milford; one daughter, Melissa Sue (Terry) Rogers of West Milford; one brother, George Rogers of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, James Wayne Rogers Jr., Leon M. Rogers Jr., Meta E. Kirksey, Trista B. Rollins and Tabitha L. West; great-grandchildren, Cory James Rogers, Allea Marie Rogers, Darren Gene Rogers, Ivy Lynn Rogers, Ela Wren Kirksey, Zoe Sloan Kirksey and Teagan Rogers.
Five brothers, Charles, Earl, Ray, Harry and Mark and four sisters, Audrey, Annabell, Madeline and Lora and one granddaughter, Tara S. West and one great-grandson, Kellen Floyd Rogers, are deceased.
Mr. Rogers worked for Palace Furniture for 33-years, Dick Harper Trucking and Mountaineer Foods. He was also a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church and a graduate of Lost Creek High School.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home in Jane Lew on Monday, Dec. 2, from 12 noon until 8 p.m.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m., at the Morris Funeral Home with Rev. William L. Coffindaffer officiating.
Burial was held at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
