Hal Walter Hampton - 08/16/01

Funeral services for Hal Walter Hampton, 49, of Gillette will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ferris Funeral Home in Sheridan with the Rev. Michael Mcmillan as officiant.

He died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at the Casper Medical Center of a heart attack with medical complications.

He was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Sheridan.

He married Deborah Crabtree on May 29, 1971. The couple was married for 18 years and had four children.

He lived in Montana and Colorado for a short time and settled in Gillette, just two months before his death, to be near his family.

He loved to hunt, fish, ride motorcycles, and be wild. He was noted for his laugh and his art.

He is survived by his daughters Nanette Cunningham of Wright, Candace Mcmillan of Powell and Faith Hampton of Gillette; a son, Caleb Hampton of Gillette; former wife, Deborah Hampton of Gillette; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Carneeda Hampton and a granddaughter, Charidy Hack.

Todd J. Bryan - 12/24/01

Memorial services for Todd Jennings Bryan of Pine Haven, 39, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

He died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in Crook County from injuries he received in a one-vehicle crash.

Mr. Bryan was born Jan. 6, 1961, in Hot Springs, S.D. to Larry and Mary (Weir) Bryan. He attended schools in Oral and Hot Springs, S.D. He later earned his G.E.D.

He worked on various construction jobs around the area and was recently employed by MGM Construction and KG Construction in Gillette.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Bryan is survived by his parents, Larry Bryan of Beulah, N.D., and Mary Bryan of Lawrence, Kan.; two children, Rebecca Lynn Bryan of Hot Springs and Chance Bryan of Rawlins; four brothers, Craig Bryan, Bud Bryan and Roger Bryan, all of Gillette, and Jered Bryan of Rock Springs; four sisters, Moneic Wing of Maple Grove, Minn., Madelon Baker of Hastings, Minn., Jenny Poly of Lawrence, Kan. and Jody Ernst of Bismarck, N.D.; a granddaughter; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jade Bryan and his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name. Donations may be sent in care of Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 734, Gillette, WY 82717.

Hannah Fuller - 12/26/01

Memorial services for Hannah Fuller, 9, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Moorcroft.

A private family gathering will be at the cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home.

She died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Denver Children's Hospital of leukemia.

She was born June 16, 1992, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital to Debra and Barry Fuller. She lived in Moorcroft all of her life.

She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Blackie.

She is survived by her parents and sister, Kari, of Moorcroft; maternal grandparents, Warren and Barbara Mitchell; and paternal grandparents, LeRoy and Noralie Fuller.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Hannah Fuller Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded to one of Hannah's classmates in Moorcroft at the time of his or hier high school graduation. Donations may be sent to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 734, Gillette, WY, 82717.

Michael R Owens - 11/06/01

Memorial services for Gillette resident, Michael R. Owens, 40, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don White officiating.

He died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, in Gillette of a gunshot wound.

Mr. Owens was born May 1, 1961, in Sumter, S.C., to Charlie R. and Betty R. (Roland) Owens. He lived in various places during his childhood because his father was in the military. They moved to Gillette in 1976.

He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1979 and began working for Cummins Diesel directly out of high school, remaining with them for 13 years.

He married TaWaynda Woolman on Aug. 25, 1984, in Gillette.

Mr. Owens later began working as a co-manager for Value Villa with his wife and was most recently employed at North Antelope Rochelle Coal Co., currently on long-term disability.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the National Dart Association Champion team and was an avid fisherman and a member of the Walleye Tournament Circuit.

He enjoyed singing karaoke and playing darts. He also enjoyed demolition derby when he was younger.

His constant companion was his dog, Trigger.

Mr. Owens is survived by his wife of Gillette; a sister Nancy Hitt of Gillette; five brothers, Kenneth Owens of Torrington, Richard Owens of Mitchell, S.D., Charles Anthony Owens and Gary Owens, both of Sumter, S.C., and Joseph Owens of Gillette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Owens in 1990 and an infant brother, Donald Lee Owens.

Dorothy VanBuggenum - 11/8/01

Graveside services for longtime Campbell County resident Dorothy VanBuggenum, 90, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Pisgah Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Wilson Funeral Home.

She died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 5, 1911, at her parents home near Clinton, Tenn., to John F. and Nancy M. (King) Miller.

When she was about 7 years old, she moved with her parents to Wyoming by train. She lived in a boarding house with other family members until her father, with the help of others, built a house on the site of the present fairgrounds in Douglas. They lived on a homestead about 56 miles northwest of Douglas and she graduated from eighth grade at Miller-McCormick School.

She attended high schools in Glenrock, Douglas and graduated from Natrona County High School. She then took a fifth year of normal training as well as two years of summer school.

She taught in Converse, Natrona, Platte and Campbell County schools. She taught at the Cactus School and the Mondle Schools in district nine in southwest Campbell County.

On June 5, 1941, she married Peter VanBuggenum in Casper. They lived on his homestead east of Pumpkin Buttes where they lived until his death in 1955. She remained on the ranch until moving into Gillette in August 1956.

She had been the secretary of Wyoming Farm Bureau for 18 years and was employed by Campbell County Cemetery District until retiring in 1990.

Mrs. VanBuggenum is survived by two children, LeRoy VanBuggenum of Story and Carlene Spomer of Gillette; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials are requested to benefit the charity of the donor's choice.
