Ruby I. Nidelkoff
1915 - 2006
Ruby I. Nidelkoff, 91, of Cheyenne died Dec. 1 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 1, 1915, in Benkelman, Neb., and had lived here more than 70 years.
Mrs. Nidelkoff was a waitress at the Trail Café and Restaurant for many years.
She was an avid bowler, great cook and loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Nidelkoff is survived by a son, Dean Nidelkoff of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Mike Nidelkoff of Cheyenne, Stacey Bittinger of Denver, Lori McCoon of Alaska and Brit Peterson of Washington; seven great grandchildren; and two great - great grandchildren; her goddaughter, Joyce Marchant of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy "Bobby" Nidelkoff on April 24, 2004; a daughter, Nancy Peterson; her parents, John and Minnie Griffith; two brothers, Floyd Griffith and Virgil Griffith; and five sisters, June, Marsha, Merle, Evelyn and Lethel; and a daughter - in - law, Meta Nidelkoff.
Services were held at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Elmer Wilhelm officiating.
Interment was in Beth El Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Bittinger, Thomas Bittinger, Hans Marchant and Ambrose Aubuchon. Honorary pallbearer was Mike Nidelkoff.

Frank Valdez
1937 - 2006
Frank "Lalo" Valdez, 69, of Cheyenne died Dec. 6 at his home.
Mr. Valdez was born Oct. 2, 1937, in Mora, N.M.
He had lived in Cheyenne since he was a young man and worked as a brick layer.
Mr. Valdez served in the U.S. Navy
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mr. Valdez is survived by his wife, Annette Valdez, whom he married Sept. 24, 1960, in Cheyenne; one son and daughter - in - law, Frank and Christine Valdez of Madison, Conn.; one daughter and son - in - law, Caroline and Jonathan Ross of Cheyenne; five grandchildren, Krista Ross, Micayla Ross, Juliana Ross, Madeline Valdez and Emma Valdez; one brother, Floyd Valdez of Truckee, Calif.; six sisters, Cora Morris of Auburn, Calif., Nila Cliffton of Los Lunas, N.M., Carmen Ebell of Cheyenne, Mary Martinez of Benson, Ariz., Marie Esquibel of Las Vegas, N.M., and Meggie Sandoval of Edgewood, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrado and Flora Valdez; and three brothers, Ray, Ben and Gilbert Valdez.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Mass is 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Carr as celebrant.
Honorary pallbearers are Richard Trujillo, Nathan Trujillo, Jonathan Ross, Bryan Herget and Jarrod Flores.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Friends may contribute to Hospice or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Robert D. Gartrell
1946 - 2006
Robert D. Gartrell, 60, of Cheyenne died Nov. 30 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Pueblo, Colo., and had lived here for six months with prior residence in Shoshoni and Buffalo.
Mr. Gartrell was a school teacher and pharmaceutical sales representative.
He is survived by three sons, Joshua Michael Gartrell of Cheyenne, Jonathan Patrick Gartrell and Christopher Robert Gartrell, both of Bozeman, Mont.; a daughter, Zoe Adrianne Hauser of Bozeman; his mother, Ruth Ann Gartrell of Denver; two brothers, Richard Carl Gartrell of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and William George Gartrell of Brea, Calif.; a sister, Zoe Ann Meyers of Littleton, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Gartrell was preceded in death by his father, Percy Gartrell.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Northwoods Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.

Buford R. Beaver
1908 - 2006
Buford Reece Beaver, 98, died Dec. 9 at Life Care in Cheyenne.
He was born Feb. 22, 1908, in Ulysses, Neb., the son of Byron Reece and Mable Mary (Kirkpatrick) Beaver.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Henry Borchardt Farm, 53 Winberg Road, four miles east, three miles north and 1/2 mile east of Chugwater, with Glen Sparks officiating.
Interment will be in the Chugwater Cemetery near Chugwater.
Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Gorman Funeral Home - Platte Chapel of Wheatland.
A memorial to the Chugwater Ambulance in care of the Town of Chugwater, P.O. Box 243, Chugwater, WY 82210 would be appreciated by the family.
The Gorman Funeral Home - Platte Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Hildie
1916 - 2006
Ruth Hildie, 90, of Cheyenne died Dec. 6 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hildie was born June 13, 1916, in Groesbeck, Texas, and had lived in Cheyenne since 1970 with prior residence in Santa Cruz, Calif., Edmonton, Canada, and Fairbanks, Alaska.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Hildie is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dwayne W. Hildie of Cheyenne, whom she married Nov. 29, 1938, in Forest Lawn, Calif.; two sons, Robert Hildie of Dallas and Donald Hildie of Fairbanks; a daughter, Sharon Kilpatrick of San Jose, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Leila Jackson; a brother, C.B. Jackson; and two sisters, Crystelle Davenport and Alvin Plummer.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dan McKinley officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Rosalie M. Cornett
1928 - 2006
Rosalie "Rosie" M. Cornett, 78, of Cheyenne died Dec. 7.
She was born May 29, 1928, in Woodward, Okla., to Bert and Veva (Duvall) Eilert.
Mrs. Cornett moved with her family to Henry, Neb., at a young age.
She married Earl Henderson and to that union they had a daughter, Iola. They were later divorced.
Mrs. Cornett owned and operated Rosie's Beauty Shop in Torrington for 18 years.
She later married Robert "Bob" Cornett in Cheyenne on Dec. 31, 1975.
They moved to Wheatland, where they lived for eight years. They then moved to Cheyenne.
Mrs. Cornett is survived by her husband, Bob of Cheyenne; her daughter, Iola Richards of Torrington; seven grandchildren; and 16 great - grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place.
There was a luncheon for family and friends at the Moose Lodge in Cheyenne.
