JOHN JOSEPH RUST
Graveside services for John Joseph Rust, 72, were held Aug. 15 at Douglas Park Cemetery.
He died at his home in Torrington on Aug. 9, 2006.
A memorial has been established to Our Camp in Story, a camp for developmentally disabled children.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Rust was born icon Aug. 5, 1934, in Sinclair to Joseph Lee and Dorothy Nettie (Logan) Rust.
He grew up in Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School.
Mr. Rust served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-61.
He married icon Yvonne McCloud in 1957 at Norman, Okla.
They were later divorced.
He attended Regis College in Denver for one year, then completed his education at the University of Wyoming.
Mr. Rust was a pharmacist in Wyoming for many years.
He was the owner of Frontier Drugstore in Douglas, and he had served as president of State Board of Pharmacy.
Mr. Rust married icon Patricia Ryan at Jackson Hole on May 21, 1982.
They resided in Sheridan for several years before living the last two years in Torrington.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Rust was an accomplished pianist, and he enjoyed playing the organ at church as well as for friends.
He enjoyed golf and fly fishing, and he was an avid University of Wyoming football and Denver Broncos fan.
He also enjoyed working with children as a baseball umpire for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Pat Rust of Torrington; son and daughter-in-law Tony and Janet Rust of Eugene, Ore.; daughters and their husbands Kelly and Jim Graham of Cheyenne and Tracy and Chuck Giesenhagen of Green River; step-daughter Heather and her husband Larry Halle of Tucson, Ariz.; brother Mike Rust of Cheyenne; nephews Joe and Lee; niece Renae; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

CHARLES ‘CHARLEY’ LEE HENDREN
Funeral services for Charles (Charley) Lee Hendren, 58, will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at First Baptist Church in Douglas, with Pastor Roy Phillips of Douglas Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Douglas Park Cemetery with military honors accorded.
Mr. Hendren went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2006.
He was born icon Aug. 21, 1947, in Wichita, Kan., to John F. and Ruth (Nichols) Hendren.
He graduated from Haysville High School in Haysville, Kan., in 1965.
He obtained two bachelors degrees, one in criminal justice at Washburn University and one in theology at Baptist Salt Lake College.
Mr. Hendren met Veronica (Fronie) Ann Zink in Hayesville, and they were married icon on Oct. 13, 1967.
Mr. Hendren served four years in the U.S. Air Force, including one year in Vietnam.
He then began his law enforcement career, spanning 35 years as a police officer on the Topeka, Kansas, Police Department, a staff instructor at the Regional Police Academy in Arlington, Texas, director of training for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department in El Paso, Texas, police chief in Sheridan, and finally as an instructor at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy.
Mr. Hendren was also a cowboy missionary/evangelist, preacher, singer and poet, sharing the Gospel and the western way of life to others across the United States.
Adopted in God’s chosen race through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, he is survived by the countless number of believers in Christ.
More immediately, Charley is survived by his wife Fronie Hendren of Douglas; children and their spouses Rick and Becky Hendren of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kim and Greg Fenn of Arlington, Va.; sister Karen Southwick of Derby, Kan.; and granddaughter Shalla Fenn of Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A memorial to the Douglas Baptist Memorial Fund, 225 South Fifth Street, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.

AURORA P. PARDO
A funeral liturgy for Aurora P. Pardo, 92, was held Aug. 22 at the San Buena Ventura Mission in Ventura, Calif., with Fr. Damien Fernando as the Celebrant.
The Vigil for the Deceased was held Aug. 18 at Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas led by Fr. John Savio.
Interment was in Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura.
Mrs. Pardo died Aug. 16, 2006, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
She was born icon Feb. 22, 1914, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ignacio and Refujio (Perez) Pillado.
As an infant, she and her family moved to Colorado, later moving to Ventura where she was reared and educated.
She married icon Alfonso Canela Pardo in 1940 in Los Angeles, Calif.
She was active in the Catholic Church and was a member of the Guadalupana Society in Ventura and Saint James Catholic Church in Douglas.
She also was involved with senior citizens centers in Ventura and Douglas.
She enjoyed community dances and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Raul Canela Pardo of Puerto Rico, Irma Rita Cross of Douglas and Alfonso Arthur Pardo of Ventura; sister Amalia Garcia of Santa Paula, Calif.; brother Macedonia Pillado of Oxnard, Calif.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Carlos M. Martinez and Ruben Canela Pardo; and three grandchildren.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, would be appreciated by the family.

William Sherman Dixon
Graveside services for William Sherman “Wild Bill” Dixon, 75, will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 29 at Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Dixon, a resident of Grand Ronde, Ore., died June 7, 2006, at Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Ore.
He was born icon March 14, 1931, in Douglas to William Sherman and Mabel Edna (Ballard) Dixon.
He was reared and educated in Douglas.
He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 42 years.
He spent his winters in Oregon and summers in Cheyenne.
He is survived by his children, Tracy and Dustin; sister Lois and husband Bob Moore of Pflugerville, Texas; brothers Everett and wife Sydney Dixon of Summerville, S.C., and Robert and wife Pat Dixon of Kemmerer; grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Helen Louise (Stinson) Dixon.
Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.

Marian Grace Barkdoll Waters
Funeral services will be held for Marian Grace Barkdoll Waters at noon Oct. 5 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Pepperwood Chapel in Salt Lake City.
Family and friends may attend a viewing the same day from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Pepperwood Chapel.
Friends and family are also welcome to attend the interment and dedicatory services at the Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo at 4 p.m. Oct. 6.
Mrs. Waters died from natural causes on Sept. 30, 2006, at her daughter’s home in Sandy, Utah.
She was born icon Aug. 6, 1909, in Gering, Neb., to Santford Huron Barkdoll and Effie Viola Myers.
Mrs. Waters was raised on a farm in Glendo, where she also graduated from high school.
She attended the University of Wyoming, where she received a teaching certificate and taught several years in the Glendo ranching community.
She married icon her high school sweetheart, Robert Benton Waters, on May 26, 1929.
They are the parents of Delores (Alan) Waters Mossler of Gainesville, Fla.; Neil Van (Carolyn) Waters of Lusk; and Joyce Ann (Duke) Waters DeForest of Sandy.
Her marriage to Robert was later solemnized in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1971.
Mrs. Waters was the proud “Grandma” to 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Waters worked as a rural school teacher, park recreational manager and dude-ranch cook.
Her church service included Relief Society president, Young Women president, primary president and Sunday school teacher.
She loved to be in the outdoors and spent much of her life at their homestead in the Laramie Peak area.
Mrs. Waters enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing and cooking for her grandchildren.
She was active in genealogy and spent much of her life searching out her progenitors.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers Ralph, Lawrence, Ernest, Hubert, Chester and Paul Barkdoll.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing are encouraged to make a contribution to a hospice of their choice.
