Janet P. White

1961-2005

Janet Patricia White, 43, of Hereford, Colo., March 31 in Greeley, Colo., of complications of Lupus.

She was born July 30, 1961 in Cheyenne. She was a homemaker .

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She attended schools in Sterling, Colo., Westminister, Colo., and Sheridan. She was a 1978 member of the Girl State delegation, a member of Art Club and on the yearbook staff at Sheridan High School. She attended the University of Wyoming. She had been active in Girl Scouts from Brownie level to becoming a leader. She was a Past Honored Queen of Jobs Daughter Bethel #5 in Sheridan. She enjoyed sewing, painting, swimming, traveling, computers, gardening, and working with and for her children.

She had been employed as a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor, a teacher's assistant at Pine Bluffs Elementary, worked for the State of Wyoming Department of Public Health Nursing and for the Albany County Clerks Office in Motor Vehicle Registration.

She is survived by her husband, Don Hill; her daughter, Julina White; son, Patrick White; her mother, Patricia Brown White of Cheyenne; six brothers, James A. White of Raleigh, N.C., David B. White and Edwin L. White, both of Tucson, Ariz., Bruce J. White of Cheyenne, Perry K. White of Pine Bluffs and Page D. White of Austin, Texas; and one sister, Enid I. White of Cheyenne.

She was preceded in death by her father, James R. White ; her paternal grandparents, Burk and Eleanor White ; and her maternal grandparents, Tandy and Grace Brown of Cheyenne.

Services will be held 10 a.m. April 6 at the First Presbyterian Church, 22nd and Carey, Cheyenne with Rev. Robert L. Garrard officiating.

Friend may contribute to an education fund for her children in care of Patricia B. White at First Interstate Bank in Cheyenne.

Maxine B. Rhoades

1922-2005

Maxine B. Rhoades, 83, died April 1 at Life Care Center.

She was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Creighton, Neb., to Otto and Goldie Hasenpflug.

She graduated from Creighton High School and from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She married M.L. "Mack" Rhoades, who owned and operated Cheyenne Ambulance Service until his death in 1959. Maxine was a dedicated employee of the state of Wyoming for 35 years. In 1964, she was appointed by the governor to the position of deputy commissioner of public lands. She served in that capacity until her retirement in 1984.

Maxine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Altrusa, Republican Women's Club, United Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary and SERG. She enjoyed fishing, trips to Las Vegas, luncheons with her special friends, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.

She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Linda Garlach of Cheyenne, and Kay and Tom Keefe of Cheyenne; three grandchildren, Brian Anderson and Tiffany Garlach, both of Cheyenne, and Amy Anderson of Denver; a sister, Janice Kurcz of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Robert Hasenpflug and his wife, Jean of Sequim, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews; and cherished friends.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Raynaldo Leal

1940-2005

Raynaldo "Ray" Leal, 64, of Pine Bluffs died March 30 at Untied Medical Center-West.

He was born April 16, 1940, in Brownsville, Texas.

He retired from Schurlock-Permian as a truck driver.

Mr. Leal was a member of Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church. He was a fishing enthusiast.

He is survived by his companion, Margaret Parish of Pine Bluffs; two sons, Adam Cheyenne Leal and Hawk Leal, both of Cheyenne; three daughters, Natalie Leal and Lynnell Leal, both of Cheyenne, and Jeanette Garcia of Commerce City, Colo.; two brothers, Tony Leal of Yakima, Wash., and Louis Leal of Kimball, Neb.; a sister, Terry Pearson of Lodgepole, Neb.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Herlinda Leal.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jung Sup Ahn and Pastor Charlie Reed officiating.

Pallbearers will be Hawk Leal, Adam Leal, Louis Leal, Leonard Fornstrom, Jim Sterle and Larry Roark.

Cremation to follow at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Robert R. Doe

1920-2005

Robert R. Doe, 84, of Cheyenne died March 30 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born July 30, 1920, in Brownington Center, Vt., and lived here since 1952.

Mr. Doe served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines and New Guinea. He received the Purple Heart. After the war, he started his own cab company in Orleans, Vt.

Mr. Doe delivered and warehoused supplies for Civil Service for 30 years at F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

He was a member of Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church.

Mr. Doe is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Doe of Cheyenne, whom he married Nov. 27, 1952, at First Baptist Church; a son, Daniel Doe of Cheyenne; three daughters, Debbie Doe of Commerce City, Colo. and Deanna Grimm and Dawn Colarusso, both of Cheyenne; a sister, Helen B. Doe of Newport, Vt.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents, Maxwell and Maude Doe; and a brother, Quinten Doe.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Pastor Dave Carlson officiating.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Doe, Raymond Grimm, Michael Grimm, Carl Schneider, Harold "Pete" Remster and Paul Schneider Jr.

Friends may contribute to the American Diabetes Association or Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church.

Roy Wilson

1926-2005

Roy Wilson, 78, of Cheyenne died April 1 at his home after battling cancer for nearly a year.

He was born April 21, 1926, in Phillipsburg, Mo.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Europe. He married Faye Hough on Nov. 2, 1947, in Lebanon, Mo.

He attended Lebanon High School and worked as an apprentice pipe fitter for the Frisco Railroad in Springfield, Mo. He then came to Cheyenne to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1949. He also owned and operated Wilson Welding in Cheyenne. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Faye of Cheyenne; one son, Bruce Wilson of Cheyenne; two grandsons and their wives, Brian and Leslie Wilson of Cheyenne and Curtis and Brandy Wilson of Ocean Springs, Miss.; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Wilson of Cheyenne; one great-grandson, "Little" Curtis Wilson of Mississippi; a sister, June Wilson; and a brother, James Wilson and his wife Martha of Burlington, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Clara Wilson; a sister, Elzie Mae Wilson; and a brother, Clifford Wilson.

At Roy's request, a private family memorial service with military honors is planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

The family suggests donations be made to Hospice House United Medical Center Hospice at 214 E. 23rd St. 82001.

Steven R. Wilcox

1960-2005

Steven R. Wilcox, 45, of Cheyenne died March 30.

He was born March 14, 1960, to Sherman R. and Edna Sue Wilcox in Colorado Springs, Colo.

He lived in Cheyenne for 22 years.

Mr. Wilcox became a master craftsman and master carpenter involved in thousands of building projects throughout Cheyenne.

He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph P. Wilcox of Estes Park, Colo., and Steven R. Wilcox and Michael A. Wilcox, both of Cheyenne; two brothers, Douglas R. Wilcox of Loveland, Colo., and Barry A. Wilcox of Port Orchard, Wash.; a grandmother, Audrey R. White of Colorado.

Mr. Wilcox was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Edna Sue Wilcox.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Fort Logan National cemetery in Denver.

Charles L. Goudie

1924-2005

Charles Leland Goudie, 80, of Cheyenne died April 15 at United Medical Center-West.

Born Nov. 18, 1924, in Holyoke, Colo., Charles experienced life in Alaska, the Black Hills of South Dakota, the Western Slope of Colorado, Oregon, Illinois and made Cheyenne his home in 1953.

In 1943, Charles courageously accepted the great duty that came to him and served in the United States Army during World War II. He invaded France at the beaches of Utah in Normandy with the 9th Infantry Division and was wounded in action there on June 14, 1944.

Among other honors, he received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and was honorably discharged on Oct. 6, 1944. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 4343 and of Disabled American Veterans.

Charles harbored a deep love for his country throughout his life and always shed a tear at the sight of Old Glory.

Charles was a mechanic for Tyrell Chevrolet for 20 years and for Cal-Gas and F.E. Warren Air Force Base. He retired in 1990.

Charles was a faithful soul who trusted God's purposes and walked closely with his savior each day of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

With a large spirit, the kindest of hearts and true unconditional love, Charles stood at the center of a large family. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Vona Lucille, whom he married Nov. 11, 1967, in Glenwood Springs, Colo.; two sons, John C. and wife Kathy Goudie, and Leland W. and wife Tammy Ahern, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; a daughter, Cindy L. Cieslak of Milwaukee; stepchildren, Elaine and Bert McCauley of Littleton, Colo., James Black of Carpenter and Dennis and Karen Black and Rita Kolkman, all of Cheyenne; a brother, William C. Goudie of Knoxville, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, Tammy, Todd, Sandy, Shawn, Trevor, Courtney, Desiree, Andree, Jerry, Kim, Gina, Jolene, Clint and Justin; and 21 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Emily, Jocelyn, Devin, Jeremiah, Justin, Haley, Natalie, Nicole, Jessica, Amanda, Aidan, Aramina, Dylan, Leeann, Erica, Andy, Evan, Tyler and Braden.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jean Standley; his parents, William A. and Julia M. Goudie; a sister, Mary E. Goudie; and a twin brother, Fred Glynn Goudie.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Max Kaser officiating.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the American Legion Color Guard.

Pallbearers will be Justin Woods, Bert McCauley, Dean Kolkman, Ronald Meyer, Rodney Clark and Leonard Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene McConnaughey, Robert Curtis, Dean Winegar, Shane Rasby and Lloyd Rickenbach.

Friends may contribute to First Baptist Church, The Parkinson's Association or a charity of their choice.

Visitation is 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Ruth A. Steward

1939-2005

Ruth A. Steward, 66, of Cheyenne died April 15 at Life Care Center in Cheyenne.

She was born April 4, 1939, in South Fork, Pa.

Mrs. Steward operated the Highway Department cafeteria, waitressed at the Hitching Post Inn for ten years and owned The Tasty Place and Ruthies Sub Shop.

She is survived by her husband, Elvin, whom she married August 13, 1966, in Cheyenne; a son, Adrian "Sonny" Antolich Jr. of Cheyenne; two daughters, Faith Vroeland and Wendy L. Varga, both of Cheyenne; a step-daughter, Brenda Saint of Loveland, Colo.; her mother, Ruby A. Harris of Ehernfield, Pa.; a brother, Charles "Bud" Harris of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Marge Dlongiak of Canton, Ohio, and Shirley Bier of Ehernfield; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, William L. Harris.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Tom Cronkleton officiating.

Interment will take place in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Friends may contribute to a charity of their choice.

Jay R. Hacker

1943-2005

Jay R. Hacker, 61, of Cheyenne died May 8 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 17, 1943, in Seattle and had lived here for 22 years with prior residence in Rock Springs.

Mr. Hacker retired from the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1881 where he served as past post commander and senior vice commander, Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America.

He is survived by two brothers, Joe Hacker and Patrice Hacker; and two sisters, Jennifer Bonham and Penny Gillard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Hacker.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Private family services will be held at a later time.

A memorial service for friends will be 11 a.m. today at VFW Post No. 1881, 2816 E. Seventh Street in Cheyenne.

Harry E. Maddock

1939-2005

Harry Earl "Butch" Maddock, 66, resident of Siloam Springs, Ark., May 8 in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born April 10, 1939, in Laramie, the son of Gilbert Maddock and Pauline Anna McClain Maddock.

Mr. Maddock lived in Siloam Springs for the past 5 years. He once lived in Tulsa, Okla., and Saudi Arabia.

Harry was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and worked as an inspection engineer in construction. He frequently traveled internationally as part of his job. He was a peacetime veteran of the United States Marines and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Peggy; a son, Richard Maddock of Hemet, Calif.; a daughter, Kristie Moorman and her husband Dave of Agoura Hills, Calif.; two grandsons, Richard Maddock and Ryan Moorman, both of California; two granddaughters, Kailey Maddock and Alanna Moorman, both of California; a sister, Sharon Dunivent and her husband, Lenny of Cheyenne.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Eastgate Church of Christ in Siloam Springs with Mr. Charles Cash officiating.

Friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
