Harold F. Crosley

1922-2005

Harold F. "Chi" Crosley, 83, of Henderson, Nev., died Nov. 28 at Kindred Hospital in Las Vegas.

He was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Dallas City, Ill., and had lived in Henderson for last 27 years with prior residence in Cheyenne.

Mr. Crosley served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees as a painter, second class, during World War II.

He was a member of the VFW and Bethany Baptist Church in Boulder City, Nev.

Mr. Crosley is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Henderson; a daughter, Billie Diethrich and her husband Paul of Cheyenne, their children Kimberly Schlabs and her husband Jerry of Cheyenne, Brett Diethrich and his wife Debbie of Terre Haute, Ind., and Kevin Diethrich of Cheyenne; a son Charles Crosley and his wife Suzanne of Denver, and their children, Scott Crosley and his wife Stephanie of Denver, and Shane Crosley and his wife Holly of Tuscan; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua "Jack" and Velos Crosley; a brother, Bill Crosley; a foster brother Bobby Hannig; and two sisters, Josephine Cady ValDez and Frances Stednitz.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at the Rugged Cross Chapel in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gary Ruzicka officiating.

Funeral services were held in Boulder City, Nev., at Bethany Baptist Church on Dec. 1.

Services are under direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Hazel J. Smyth

1919-2005

Hazel Jeannette Smyth, 85, of Cheyenne died Dec. 1 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Manhattan, Kan.

She held a private practice as a licensed practical nurse.

She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Smyth; her parents, William Walter and Bessie Marie (Achenbach) Stegman; and a brother Warren Ernest Stegman.

Private services will be held. Cremation is at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Mary J. Russell

1923-2005

Mary Jeanette Russell, 82, of Cheyenne died Dec. 27 at United Medical Center-West.

Mrs. Russell was born Sep. 3, 1923, in Riverton and had lived in Cheyenne for over 60 years.

She was a member of Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church, Meals on Wheels, and the Cheyenne Bowling Association.

Mrs. Russell is survived by her husband Harold "Hal" Russell, whom she married Aug. 8, 1945, in Riverton; two daughters, Carol Ann Milligan of Pamona, Calif., and Susan Marie Lesh of Lakeville, Minn.; a sister, Edna Mae Dooley of Riverton; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Pastor David Carlson officiating.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Friends may contribute to Meals on Wheels.

Charles M. Liesenfeld

1958-2005

Charles M. Liesenfeld, 47, of Cheyenne died Dec. 25 at United Medical Center- West.

He was born Aug. 20, 1958, in Waseca, Minn., and had lived here since 1978.

Mr. Liesenfeld had retired from the United States Air Force as a missile facility manager and had worked as a freight conductor for the railroad.

He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a member of the National Hunting and Retrieving Association and American Kennel Club.

Mr. Liesenfeld is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Liesenfeld of Cheyenne, whom he married July 20in Cheyenne; two daughters, Melissa Liesenfeld and Angie Liesenfeld, both of Cheyenne; stepsons, James Byrd and Christopher Byrd, both Cheyenne; his parents, Edwin and Doris Liesenfeld of Winthrop, Minn.; a sister, Lori Bennett of Becker, Minn., and a stepgrandchild .

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be James Byrd, Ben Moreau, Clint Moreau, Evan Thomas, Mark Bennett, John Hurdelbrink.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shepard Penney and Jeff Konegni.

Clara R. Gallegos

1926-2005

Clara Rivera Gallegos, 79, of Cheyenne died Dec. 24 at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne.

She was born April 4, 1926 in Fort Collins, Colo., to Joseph Gabriel and Dora Rose (Mora) Rivera.

Ms. Gallegos was affiliated with St. Mary's Cathedral and was a member of AARP.

She was an eligibility technician for the state of Wyoming.

Ms. Gallegos is survived by three sons, Armand B. Gallegos, Andy "Rusty" Gallegos and Joe Gallegos, all of Cheyenne; four daughters, Dorothy Gallegos, Geraldine Gonzales, Diana Cajavilca and Barbara Aviles-Lugo, all of Cheyenne; and four sisters, Christine Rivera of New Hope, Pa., Margaret Arellano and Shirley Aragon and Eleanore Rivera, all of Fort Collins; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 p.m. Friday at Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Phillip Wagner presiding.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.

Craig M. Horton

1959-2005

Craig Morris Horton, 46, of Mills died Dec. 24 in Casper.

He was born Feb. 16, 1959, in Cheyenne. Mr. Horton lived in Casper for the last 12 years with prior residence in the Green River area.

Mr. Horton loved to fish and he could catch one in a mud puddle. He loved working with wood and collecting bottles.

Mr. Horton was in the Army then later worked for L.G. Electric as a construction worker.

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Sharon Horton of Cheyenne; his three daughters, Anne-Jilline Marie Kiefer of Krebs, Okla., Elizabeth Ryan Rau of Globe, Ariz., and Kellee Amber Horton of McAllester, Okla.; a brother, Randall and Shelley Horton of Laramie; a sister, Deborah Mier of Houston; five grandchildren, Amber, Joey, Aimee, Summer and Kaylee; three nieces and a nephew; and a companion, Brenda Page of Casper.

Services are pending through Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Comea Shelter or charity of choice.

Dorothy E. Sikes

1923-2005

Dorothy E. Sikes, 81, of Cheyenne died Dec. 12 in Cheyenne.

She was born Dec. 15, 1923, in North Platte, Neb.

She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1941 and her career as a stenographer started in 1941 with the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. She then went to work for the Union Pacific in 1942 and retired in 1985 as a chief train crew dispatcher. After retirement she volunteered at Meals on Wheels and enjoyed bridge and crossword puzzles.

She married Clarence Sikes in 1951.

She is survived by her son, Scott Sikes of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister, Betty Nelson of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and a brother, Robert Scott of Eaglerock, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and infant son, Craig; her parents, Georgia and John Scott; brothers, James, John and Paul; and sisters, Esther Whited, Mabel Harnish and Doris Kitchen.

At her request, there will be no services.

Friends may contribute to Meals on Wheels.

Dr. Charles J. Frentheway

1947-2005

Dr. Charles Jay Frentheway M.D., 58, died Dec. 20 while at work in the emergency room at Cobre Valley Hospital in Globe, Ariz.

The harness of this life was removed from him sometime between 4 and 7 a.m., while he was resting between his treatment of patients. His untimely death has been a shock to all of his family and friends.

Charles Jay Frentheway (Chuck or Uncle Chuckie as he was called by many of his family) was born in June 23, 1947, in Rawlins. He was the son of Charles Jake Frentheway and Gladys Louise (Lauver) Frentheway.

He was raised in Cheyenne, where he was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attended Henderson Grade School, Carey Junior High, and graduated from Cheyenne's East High in 1965. He attended Brigham Young University receiving his B.S. in zoology; he married Kathleen Andersen Frentheway on Aug. 1, 1970; then attended the Universidad de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico, and received his M.D. from Creighton University in 1974.

Chuck and Kathy have, and he is survived by, three children, Mathew Jacob Frentheway, his wife, Melissa and their four sons Kreed, Dawson, Ryker and Beau, and Rachael Bree (Frentheway) Ice and her husband, Jonathon, and Zane Samuel Frentheway. He is also survived by a sister, Cheryl Ann Smith; a brother, John E. Frentheway; 18 nieces and nephews; and 58 grandnieces and grandnephews.

After graduating from Creighton, Chuck served in the U.S. Air Force at Malcolm Grove Hospital at Andrews Air base in Washington, D.C. He was named flight surgeon of the year for the Air Training Command in 1976 while stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Big Springs, Texas.

He was then transferred to F.E. Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne and served as a family practice physician at the Base Hospital there. After being discharged from the Air Force, Chuck began working for EMP Corporation where he worked the emergency rooms at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, Deadwood, S.D., Sheridan, Pasco, Wash., and Ivanson Memorial Hospital in Laramie. While in Cheyenne, Chuck served in many capacities and positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Boy Scouts of America and worked as a supervising physician and medical attendant at Cheyenne Frontier Days and coached soccer and wrestling.

In 1990 Chuck and his family moved to Yuma, Ariz., where he served the people of the Yuma area at the Yuma County Regional Hospital Emergency Room.

In 1993, the Frentheways again moved to Gilbert, Ariz., and he worked at the Desert Samaritan Hospital Emergency Room and Cobre Valley Hospital in Globe, Ariz., where he was at the time of his death.

Chuck always sacrificed his time, resources and talents unselfishly whether convenient or inconvenient. He gave his service without expectations of any return or commitment from the receiver. His life was a true example of unpretentious Christian ideals which he lived and taught. His gentle touch and loving concern for all of his family, friends, patients and acquaintances was a true example of Christ like love. We should follow his example.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte Anne Frentheway; and his father and mother, Charles Jake Frentheway and Gladys Louise (Lauver) Frentheway.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 309 Western Hill Blvd. Interment will be at the Frentheway family cemetery, five miles west of I-25 on Horse Creek Road.

Viewing will be from Wednesday until services at Schrader's Funeral Home.

Elsie J. Marks

1942-2005

Elsie June (Schwarz) Marks, 63, died Dec. 25 in Cheyenne.

She was born June 15, 1942, in Crigler, Ark., to William Peter and Ruth Mae Schwarz (Burton). In 1947 her family moved to Wyoming.

She attended schools in Lander, Thermopolis and Sheridan. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a licensed practical nurse degree. Later she earned her registered nurse degree at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne. While she had worked at several hospitals and nursing facilities in Wyoming, Colorado and Indiana, she was currently employed by Life Care of Cheyenne as a registered nurse.

June had many interests, which included her collections, homemaking, plants, flowers, country music, dancing, reading, raising toy poodles and most of all, her friends and family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, James and wife, Pamela Andersen, Gene Andersen, Lori and husband, Richard Fleck, Terry and wife, Jennifer Andersen, Bonnie and husband, Ken Garin; her sisters, Zelma Lockhart and Patricia Wesch of Riverton and Anna Weber of Phoenix and a brother, Leonard "Bud" Schwarz of Lafayette, Ind.; 23 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

F. Harold Cushatt

1919-2005

F. Harold Cushatt, 86, of Cheyenne died Dec. 25 at United Medical Center-West.

He was born May 17, 1919, in LaGrange and had lived here for 37 years

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and a 3rd Degree Mason of Grand Lodge AF & AM.

Mr. Cushatt was a rancher in LaGrange and then moved to Chugwater and became a wheat farmer for 15 years. While in Chugwater, he was a school board member and was a past master of Grand Lodge AF & AM. He moved to Abilene, Texas where he worked for General Dynamics. He then moved back to Wyoming and he began with the civil service in the U.S. Air Force in Cheyenne, retiring after 22 years of service.

Mr. Cushatt enjoyed wood working and fishing in his retirement years.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sadie Cushatt of Cheyenne, whom he married July 1, 1940, in Sidney, Neb.; four sons, Frank Cushatt of Greeley, Colo., Carl Cushatt of Berthoud, Colo., Randy Cushatt of Cheyenne and Terry Cushatt of Laramie; a sister, Myrtle Willoughby of Loveland, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtle Cushatt; his son, Gary Dean Cushatt and two sisters, Leah Daley and Lois Hurniek.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Delbert Hansen officiating.

Interment will be in Beth El cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Cushatt, Randy Cushatt, Frank Cushatt and Carl Cushatt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Shivers, Charlie Emswiler and Harry Creathbaum.

Friends may contribute to Faith United Methodist Church.
