Stanley G. Kreiling

1925-2006

Stanley G. Kreiling, 81, of Cheyenne died Sept. 14 at United Medical Center-West in Cheyenne.

Mr. Kreiling was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Phillips, Wis.

He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He then joined the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Air Force, retiring April 1, 1964.

Mr. Kreiling has been a resident of Cheyenne since 1960 and after retiring from the Air Force worked as a painter for F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Phillips, the DAV, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1881, the American Legion Post 6 and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Mr. Kreiling is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Cheyenne, whom he married Nov. 1, 1948, in Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Kenneth G. Kreiling of Mead, Colo., and Daniel H. Kreiling of Cheyenne; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Valentine and Minnie Caroline Kreiling; four brothers; and one sister.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Roger Aurand officiating.

Interment of the urn will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Military honors will be provided by the F.E. Warren Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Friends may contribute to the Disabled American Veterans.

Gary L. Ellerston

1949-2006

Gary L. Ellerston, 57, of Thornton, Colo., died Sept. 12 at the Northern Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Thornton.

He was born Aug. 11, 1949, in Estherville, Iowa.

Mr. Ellerston graduated from Cheyenne's East High and was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.

He was a brick mason.

Mr. Ellerston was in the Wyoming Air Guard, enjoyed fishing, and was a guide for hunters in Casper and Alcova.

He is survived by his mother, Erma E. Ellerston of Cheyenne; and two sisters, Connie J. Mordhorst of Cheyenne and Debra S. Ott of Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger E. Ellerston.

A private family graveside service will be held.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Friends may send contributions to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.

Ruth E. Buckingham

1919-2006

Ruth E. Buckingham, 86, of Cheyenne died Sept. 14 at United Medical Center- West.

She was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Hayfield, Minn., and has lived in Cheyenne for 60 years.

Mrs. Buckingham was a member of First Presbyterian Church and VFW No. 4343.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Woodard and Sharon LaCoy, both of Cheyenne; one son, James Buckingham of Nebraska; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Buckingham was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Marion C. Buckingham whom she married Feb. 26, 1941 in Lincoln, Neb.; her parents, Bernard and Letha Miler; one brother, Rolly Miler; and one sister, Margie Stouder.

Private services will be held.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Friends may make memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church Youth Group.

Philip T. Plambeck

1932-2006

Philip T. "Ted" Plambeck, 74, of Cheyenne, died Sept. 15 at United Medical Center - West.

He was born Jan. 11, 1932, in Burns, and had lived here all of his life.

Mr. Plambeck was a firefighter for the City of Cheyenne for 21 years.

He was a member of Cheyenne Christian Center.

Mr. Plambeck is survived by his wife, Arla Mae Plambeck whom he married Feb. 20, 1971, in Cheyenne; two sons, Larry T. Plambeck of Chicago, and Richard G. Plambeck of Wheatland; two stepsons, Dennis Stutzman of Walnut, Calif., and Dannie Stutzman of Tatum, Texas; two sisters, Phylis Smith of Martinez, Calif., and Joan Stevens of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Plambeck; his parents, Ted and Olive Plambeck and a stepson, Brian McDaniel.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Cheyenne Christian Center with the Rev. Jerry Dice officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeview cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Schultz, Ken Freimuth, Hank Sohl, Gil Chavez, Tom Carpenter and Jack Riley.

Friends who wish may contribute to the Cheyenne Christian Center.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

James L. Goodman, Jr.

1956-2006

James L. Goodman Jr., 50, of Cheyenne died Sept. 14 at United Medical Center-West.

Mr. Goodman was born May 16, 1956, in Pasco, Wash.

He was a track supervisor.

Mr. Goodman was an avid collector of coins, trading cards and sports memorabilia.

He is survived by his sons, James L. Goodman III of Mexico, Mo., Bryan Goodman, Adam Goodman, both of Cheyenne, and Matthew Goodman of Torrington; his mother and stepfather, Betty and Dale Williams of Forbestown, Calif.; two brothers, Jerry Goodman of Chico, Calif., and Jay Goodman of California; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Goodman Sr.

The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. at Schrader Chapel with the Rev. Mary Jo Koehler officiating.

Cremation will be at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Friends may contribute to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, Fairfax Road at Virginia St., Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.

Robert Nantkes

1939-2006

Robert Nantkes, resident of Lander and Cheyenne, entered eternal life on Sept. 14.

He was the loving husband and dearest friend to his wife, Carol Ann.

Born Oct. 23, 1939, in Sheridan, to the late G.L. and Frances Nantkes, Bob graduated from Sheridan High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University; he also was awarded graduated degrees from the University of Wyoming in 1969 and Idaho State University in 1970.

Before retirement, Bob served as a counselor and administrator for Wyoming Vocational Rehabilitation; he also was employed in private enterprise.

During his lifetime, Bob was an avid reader of history; enjoyed woodworking, hunting, traveling and gardening. His favorite pastime was fishing, especially in the Wind River Canyon.

Bob held lifetime memberships in the National Rifle Association, the University of Wyoming Alumni Association, and the Idaho State Alumni Association; he was a member of the Elks for 42 years and belonged to the Lander Lodge 2317.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his cousins, Dr. E. Steele of Alabama; Dr., M. Cushing of Colorado; Don Nantkes of Virginia and Donald Cushing of Nebraska; further survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Family services and interment will be held in Laramie.

Dawn R. Kelley

1964-2006

Dawn René Kelley, 42, of Cheyenne, died Sept. 14, at home with her family at her side after a long struggle with cancer.

She was born July 10, 1964, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of her life.

Dawn graduated from East High School in 1982. She earned an Associate's Degree at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. Returning to Cheyenne, her professional career included 14 years at Wyoming State Department of Criminal Investigation. Most recently, Dawn worked with Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne, where her efforts had a positive impact for hundreds of children in the community and allowed her to fulfill a dream of work that would truly make a difference.

Dawn was creative, energetic, gentle and kind-hearted. She loved butterflies and enjoyed planting flowers and caring for her landscape. Dawn will be missed especially for her sense of humor, her inquisitive nature about people, and her passions for music and for sharing time with friends and family.

Dawn is survived by her son, Jesse James Ellis; her mother Linda Kelley; her father, Gary Kelley; her brothers, Matthew Kelley and David Kelley; her grandparents, Maj. Aus. Ret. Carl and Marcia Wake; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and her life-long friend, Rebecca Bayne.

The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Berean Church, 5716 Powderhouse Road.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to a fund (Jesse Ellis Memorial Fund in Memory of Dawn Kelley), 5002 Linden Way, Cheyenne, WY 82009.

Wannabelle S. McNiff

1914-2006

Wannabelle S. McNiff, 92, of Cheyenne died Sept. 19 at Life Care Center.

She was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Denver.

She was a homemaker and a member of Episcopal Church.

Mrs. McNiff is survived by her son, Pete McNiff of Cheyenne; a daughter, Martha Johanson of Blue Hill, Maine; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack McNiff; and a sister, Fern.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Laramie with the Rev. Robin Chance officiating.

Friends may contribute a charity of choice.

Leona M. Adels

1942-2006

Leona M. Adels, 64, of Pine Bluffs died Sept. 17 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born May 28, 1942, in Kimball, Neb.

Mrs. Adels was a homemaker.

She married Ronald Adels on Dec. 28, 1986, in Wells, Nev.

Mrs. Adels is survived by her husband, Ron Adels of Pine Bluffs; four daughters, Julie Kranz of Carpenter, Liane Anderson of Windsor, Colo., Melissa Schardt of Burt, Mich., and Tina Anderson of Cheyenne; three stepdaughters, Rhonda Burke of Cheyenne, Jennifer McKillit of Oregon and Jodi Faulk of Kansas; a sister, Evelyn Culek of Pine Bluffs; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lynn Gossett; her parents, Earl Myron and Melissa (Woodcock) Anderson; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Schrader Chapel with the Rev. John Rasmussen officiating.

Cremation to follow at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Larry W. Sackett

1946-2006

Larry W. Sackett, 60, of Cheyenne died Sept. 17 at United Medical Center-West.

He was born Jan. 25, 1946 in Las Cruces, N.M.

Mr. Sackett was a member of the Rocky Mountain Bowling League. He was a utility inspector for the Board of Public Utilities.

Mr. Sackett served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy whom he married Feb. 14, 1991, in Cheyenne; two step-sons, Don Meyer of California and Greg Meyer of Cheyenne; his parents, Clarence and Ruth Sackett of Golden, Colo.; one sister, Ruthie DeCamp of Wasilla, Alaska; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Sackett.

Memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Chaplin Pat Bradley officiating.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
