Charles J. Parker

Charles J. Parker, 95, Rock Springs, died Sunday at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center where he had been a resident since April.

He was born Aug. 2, 1909, in Payson, Utah, the son of the late John and Mintora Harper Parker.

He attended schools there and graduated with the class of 1926. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1930 then attended the University of Wyoming where he obtained a master's degree in art in 1951.

He married Gayle Chute in Laramie in 1949 and they later divorced.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served in the Asiatic Pacific.

He began a teaching career in Byron then moved to Rock Springs where he taught band in all the public schools. He was also one of the founding fathers of the Community Concert Association.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the BPO Elks and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Charlotte Parker; one daughter, Karen Anderson of Salt Lake city, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, John and Jay Parker, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs Military graveside services and interment will be conducted tomorrow at the Payson City cemetery in Payson, Utah.

Mary Maxine Morison

Mary Maxine Morison, 74, Green River, died Sept. 9 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center where she had been a resident for three years and in ill health for several years.

She was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Bingham Canyon, Utah, the daughter of the late Jerome and Elizabeth Pollock Reynolds.

She attended schools there and in Bennion, Utah where she graduated with the class of 1936.

She married Robert Morison in Green River in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1983.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Morison, Clinton Morison, Mike Morison and wife Tracey, and Mark Morison and wife Shana, all of Green River; three daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Robert Jones of Fort Bridger, Melinda and Doug Wadsworth and Melody and Keith Swanson, all of Green River; one brother, Ken Reynolds of Washington, Utah, 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel. Interment was in the Riverview cemetery.

James M. Ringdahl

James M. Ringdahl, 72, Green River, died Aug. 14 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, the son of the late John G. Ringdahl and Mary Lucille Field.

He attended schools in Lyman and Green River and was a graduate of the Green River High School with the class of 1949.

He married Bonnie C. Thompson in 1954 in Green River at the Immaculate Conception Church.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He served in Japan with the tank battalion.

He was employed by FMC Corporation for 40 years and retired in 1991.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, quarter-master for the Veteran's of Foreign Wars 2321, Golden Hour Senior Citizen's board member, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County Board Member, and served on the Green River City Council.

He was recognized as the Outstanding Senior Citizen by the Lions Club in 2002. He was instrumental in the beautification of the cemetery and worked hard for his community.

His interests were spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, playing pool and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of Green River; one daughter, Christine Nelson of Green River; one sister, Thelma Webb of Green River; two grandchildren, Christopher Ray Nelson and Matthew James Nelson both of Green River; several nieces, nephews and two cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alex Ringdahl, Calvin Ringdahl and a brother who died in infancy, and one sister, Florence Ringdahl.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Msgnr. Eugene Sullivan officiating. Military graveside services and interment took place at the Riverview cemetery in Green River.

The family of James M. Ringdahl respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to Cowboys Against Cancer or the Immaculate Conception Church Landscaping Fund.

Walter George Collins

Walter George Collins, 65, Green River, passed away on Oct. 3. A resident of Green River for the past three years and former resident of Rock Springs, he died following injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born on April 27, 1937, in Camden, N.J., the son of Walter William Collins and Myrtle Gleanor Harden.

He attended schools in Camden, N.J.

He was employed as a truck driver.

Survivors include three sons, Zachariah C. Collins of Marana, Ariz., Oscar A. Collins of Paris, Texas, and Chase A. Collins of Deport, Texas; one brother, George Collins of Camden, N.J.; one sister, Lillian Polinski of Belmar, N.J.; three grandchildren, Corey, Austin, and Jessica Collins; one uncle and one aunt, George and Lillian Harden; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial services were conducted Oct. 6 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs.

Raymond L. Beechley

Funeral services for Raymond L. Beechley, 68, were conducted yesterday at Allnutt Funeral Service in Fort Collins, Colo.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

He died Oct. 2 in Pinedale. He was formerly of Fort Collins, Colo., and had lived in Green River.

He was born May 8, 1935, Eckley, Colo., the son of James Lee and Elizabeth Ada Kier Beechley.

He attended high school in Idalia, Colo., and married Marilyn Mumm in 1956 in eastern Colorado. She preceded him in death in 2000, and he married Rosalia Cecil in Green River.

He worked for Maxey Truck and Equipment for 10 years wiring trailers. He also worked for Fort Collins Disposal, formerly known as Donnell Trash Service, for 20 years. He was a member of the Fort Collins Moose Lodge for 30 years.

After retirement, he took up woodworking and cut trees for Hersh Nursery.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalia "Rose" Beechley of Green River; his mother, Ada Beechley of Wray, Colo.; his brother Ron Beechley and wife Eunice of McCook, Neb.; two sisters, Rena Newbanks of Otis, Colo. and Rachel McKinney and husband Dan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven daughters, Deena Archer and husband Jeff, Dianne Jakubauskas, all of Fort Collins, Colo., Barbara Beechley of Kansas City, Mo., Sheri Hamilton and husband Larry, Ginger Bryson and husband Anthony, Jackie Woodbury and husband Tom, all of Green River, Debbie Clark and husband Roy of Casa Grande, Ariz., one son and daughter-in-law, Charley and Lori Cecil also of Green River; 26 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Beechley, his first wife and an infant brother.

Lawrence Joseph Calligaro

Lawrence Joseph Calligaro, 86, died Oct. 1 at the castle Rock Convalescent Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Helper, Utah, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Calligaro.

He attended schools in Park City, Utah, and married Alice Brooks in Rock Springs in 1941.

He was employed at F.M.C. as a miner where he retired in 1982 after 35 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his wife of Green River; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Bob Bryson of Murphy, N.C. and Bonnie and Blaine Bingham of Green River; one son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Suzanne Calligaro of Grand Junction, Colo.; one sister, Lucy Gentilini of Worland; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Moriarty and one sister, Frances Etchaverry.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs. interment was in the Rock Springs Municipal cemetery.

John Kelly Iverson

John Kelly Iverson, 61, Green River, died Oct. 4, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Rock Springs, the son of John Howard and Ora Elizabeth Schofield Iverson. He married Maria Guadalupe Duran in 1970 in Cokeville.

He attended schools in Manila and Green River, where he graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1960.

He was employed with Robinson Construction and then with U.S. Forest Service until his retirement in 1991.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Rock Springs and Green River Roping Club, and the Manila Men's Basketball League and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife Green River; mother, Ora Elizabeth Iverson of Green River; son and daughter-in-law John Kelly II and Brandy Iverson of Vernal; daughters, Lisa Maria Capozza and husband Layne J. of Lyman, and Suzanne Iverson of McComb, Okla.; one sister Arlene Hill and husband Glen of Green River; six grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father John Howard Iverson.

Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory in Rock Springs. Memorial services were conducted today at noon at the Manila LDS Ward Chapel in Manila. Military honors and inurnment will take place in the Manila cemetery.

Paul J. Laskowski

Paul J. Laskowski, 98, Bandera, Texas, died Aug 14 at his home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1905, in Gonzales, Texas, the son of the late Annie Brozozowski and Felix Laskowski.

He married Beatrice Rose Jureczki in 1936. He was a rancher and excellent carpenter. He also worked for the Bandera County Appraisal District until his retirement in the 1970s.

He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and worked on the restoration of the church museum and St. Joseph's Catholic School.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys and Johnie Schmidt of Bandera and Betty and Kenneth D'Spain of Green River; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Paul and Annette Laskowski of Montgomery, Texas and Thomas and Jan Laskowski of Pahrump, Nev.; one sister, Sophie Annie Mazurek of Pipe Creek, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with interment following in the Catholic cemetery in Bandera.

Mollie Radosevich

Mollie Radosevich, 95, Rock Springs, passed away on Oct. 5, 2003, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where she had been a patient for the past four days. She was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1907, in Austria, now Slovenia, the daughter of the late Urban Jelosek and the former Ursula Kramzar.

She attended schools in Rock Springs.

She married John "Jake" Radosevich in Rock Springs on Nov. 30, 1925, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1967.

She was a member of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Croation Fraternal Union Lodge, A.A.R.P., and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include one son, Dr. John Radosevich and wife Joanne of Rock Springs; one daughter, Katherine Bertagnolli of Rock Springs; one brother, Victor Jelosek of Rock Springs; seven grandchildren; step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law and friend, Patty L. Radosevich; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Katherine Stalick; husband John; one daughter, Carol Jean Radosevich; three brothers, John Jelosek, Ernest Jelosek and Rudy Jelosek; one sister, Rose Littrell; a son-in-law, George Bertagnolli; one granddaughter, Lisa Bertagnolli.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Oct, 9, at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs. Father Tom Sheridan will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs. Grave side services and interment will be in the Saint Joseph's Section of the Rock Springs Municipal cemetery. Friends may call at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs Wednesday afternoon and evening until 8 p.m. and again Thursday at the chapel until service time.

The family of Mollie Radosevich will be receiving relatives and friends at 1364 Moran Street, Rock Springs.

Pallbearers are Matthew Rae, Jimmy Schott, Dr. Dan Radosevich, Dr. Tom Radosevich, Andy Radosevich and Joe Radosevich.

Elmer Wesley "Sonny" Bly

Elmer Wesley "Sonny" Bly, 64, Rock Springs, passed away on Oct. 6 at his home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Buena Vista, Colo., he died following a sudden illness.

He was born the son of a coal miner on Oct. 27, 1938, in Clarksville, Ark. He spent most of his life working in mines across the country. He finally found his home in Wyoming and worked at General Chemical for 30 years prior to his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of American and spent several years as a steward, officer and a member of the negotiating team.

He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Dar; two daughters, LaDawn Bly and husband Ben Kidd, and Stacey Court and husband Mike; his grandson, Taylor Court; two brothers, Michael Bly of Green River and David Bly of Davey, Fla.; his mother Eula Bly of Lamar, Ark.; his adopted son, Travis Schwanebeck and his four-legged daughter, Chauncy. He had many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Bly and his sister Flo Bly.

Sonny was larger than life and filled any room he entered. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation will take place at the Vase White Mountain Crematory and memorial services will be conducted Oct, 10 at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel one hour prior to services.

The family of Elmer Wesley "Sonny" Bly respectfully suggests donations in his memory be made to the American Legion Archie Hay Post #24, 543 Broadway Ave., Rock Springs, Wyo.

Dusten Wendell Gailey

Dusten Wendell Gailey, 18, died Oct. 12 in Bismarck, N.D. where he was attending college.

He was born Dec. 17, 1984, in Logan, Utah, the son of Kevin "Pete" and Merlynn Blau Gailey. He attended schools in Green River where he graduated with the class of 2003.

He was a student at the University of Mary in Bismarck, were he was playing football on a scholarship.

He was a very dedicated athlete and played football for the Green River Wolves all through high school. He also threw shotput for track and placed at state twice. He enjoyed all sports and also did well as a wrestler. He was also a 49ers fan.

Survivors include his parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law, AprilDawn and Robert Berg of Green River and Katie and Zac Zaremba of Ogden, Utah; two brothers, Tyrel and Jacub Gailey, both of Green River; grandfather Bert W. Gailey of Layton, Utah; grandparents Adrien and Shirly Blau of Richmond, Utah; three nieces, one nephew, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Riva Gailey.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 18 at the LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone Ave, Green River, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday.

interment will be in the Riverview cemetery in Green River.

Louann Schramm

Louann Schramm, 58 of Rock Springs passed away at 5 p.m. Oct. 2, at her home. A long time resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Casper, Lander and Rawlins, she had been in ill health for the past four years.

She was born Dec. 1, 1944, in Rock Springs, the daughter of Lewis Grosbel and Ann Sikich.

She attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School with the class of 1963.

She married Donald Schramm on July 23, 1966, in Pinedale. She was a homemaker as well as an Avon representative for 18 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, S.N.J.P. Lodge #267, Sweetwater County Election Judge, various quilting and sewing clubs including Sweetwater Piece Markers, Cross Stitch Club in Rock Springs.

Survivors include her husband Don Schramm of Rock Springs; her mother, Ann Groshel of Rock Springs; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Arlene Schramm of Alpharetta, Ga.; one son, Kenny Schramm and wife Sharon of Laramie; one daughter, Kimberly Becvar and husband Anthony of Tacoma, Wash.; one brother-in-law, Cary Schramm and wife Hilde of Alpharetta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kennedy Schramm of Laramie, and Caleb Becvar of Tacoma, Wash.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Groshel; paternal grandfather, Anton Groshel; paternal grandmother, Ursula Groshel Petrovich; and her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Knezovich Sikich.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Oct. 7, at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. Father Jan Santich will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs.
