Tracy Blair Froman

Tracy Blair Froman, 40, Rock Springs, passed away Jan. 6, 2004, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

HE was born April 3, 1963, in Jackson to Larry and Mary Blair Froman.

He attended schools in Rock Springs.

He married Michelle Diane Ackerman in Rock Springs Oct. 5, 1985.

He was the pastor of the High Desert Community Church.

He was employed as the manager of Interstate Battery.

His interests included coaching all kinds of sports, including Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, and teaching his children to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Froman of Rock Springs; his mother, Mary of Rock Springs; three sons, Tim, Troy and Ty Froman, all of Rock Springs; one daughter, Megan Froman of Rock Springs; one sister, Kathy Dunnuck of Rock Springs; two stepsisters, Lynna Buohl of Phoenix and Crystal Levine of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; his maternal grandmother, Lapreal Blair of Jackson; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his sister, Glenda; his nephew, Richard; his maternal and paternal grandfathers and his paternal grandmother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Sweetwater County Events Complex in Rock Springs. The High Desert Community Church will conduct the services. Interment well be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Friends may call the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street in Rock Springs Thursday afternoon from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Friday at the events complex one hour prior to service.

Karen L. Beck

Karen L. Beck, 52, Green River died Jan. 6 at her home.

She was born Feb. 10, 1951, in Pomona, Calif., and graduated from West Covina High School in 1969. She attended Western Wyoming Community College in Green River for two years and married Dennis Beck in Pinedale July 21, 1997.

She was employed by OCI Wyoming for 25 years.

Her interests included spending time with family, collecting antiques and traveling to her family's cabin in Pinedale.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Beck, of Green River; her mother, Josephine Ross, of Missoula, Mont.; step-mother Wanda M. Knieper of Green River; one son, Jack Aaron Rohde; one stepson, John Daniel Beck of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two brothers, Gary Knieper and wife Theresa of Rock Springs, Kenny Knieper and wife Carol of Missoula; two step-brothers, Bill Libby and wife Charleen of Green River and Mike Libby and wife Linda of Douglasville, Georgia; one stepsister Robin Carnahan and husband Wes of Flagstaff, Ariz.; aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl R. Knieper, and grandmother, Gertrude Knieper McIntosh.

Following cremation at the White Mountain Crematory, a memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River. Father Tom Sheridan will conduct. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Leonarda R. Sanchez

Leonarda R. Sanchez, 66, Green River, died Jan. 5 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springsfollowing a brief illness.

She was born March 14, 1937, in El Salto, Guanaguato, Mexico, to Sacramento and Isabel Castaneda Reyes.

She attended school in Mexico and married Jacob Sanchez in 1981 in Las Vegas, Nev. She worked at the Jim Bridger Power Plant and retired in 1988.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Her interests included spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Jacob Sanchez, of Green River; three sons, Felicisimo Alvarado of Mexico City, Mexico, Baldomero Alvarado of Mexico City, Mexico and Jaime Alvarado of Detroit; two daughters, Imelda Alvarado and Olivia Alvarado, both of Green River; one brother, Refugio Reyes of Guanaguato, Mexico, and one sister, Veronica Reyes, of Guanaguato, Mexico; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Alejandro Alvarado.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River. Father Tom Sheridan will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery in Green River. Friends may call at the church Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday at the church one hour prior to services.

Clinton Jere Morison

Clinton Jere Morison, 43, Rock Springs, died Dec. 31 following a sudden illness.

He was born June 29, 1960, in Murray,Utah, the son of the late Robert Edward and Mary Maxine Reynolds Morison.

He attended schools in Green River and at the time of his death, he was employed by The Inn at Rock Springs.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include one son, Ethan Morison of Green River; three daughters, Amber Dawn Morison of California, Trisha Morison and Tyra Morison, both of Rocks Springs; three brothers, Robert Morison, Mike Morison and wife Tracey, and Mark Morison and wife Shana, all of Green River; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Paula and Robert Jones of Fort Bridger, Malinda and Doug Wadsworth, and Melodie and Keith Swanson, all of Green River; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials be made to the Clinton Morison Memorial Fund, Trona Valley Credit Union.

Helen C. Abram

Helen C. Abram, 56, Rock Springs, died Jan. 4 at her home after battling breast cancer for a year.

She was born April 25, 1947, in Rock Springs, the daughter of Manuel A. and Emelina Archuleta Garcia.

She attended schools in Reliance and Rock Springs, where she graduated with the class of 1965. She married Victor Abram in 1970 in Lyman.

She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic community and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband; her mother; four daughters, Holly Marie Abram, April Ann Hendricks and husband Willow of Phoenix, Amber Lynn Abram and fiance Rafael Trevizo of Rock Springs, and Melissa Emeline Abram of Rock Springs; two brothers, Tony Garcia of Las Vegas, N.M., and Mickey Garcia of Rock Springs; two sisters, Billie Carrillo of Reliance and Mary Madrid of Arroyo Seco, N.M.; three grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; three brothers, John Garcia, Frankie Garcia and Frankie A. Garcia; and one sister, Angela Garcia.

Private family services will be conducted as she requested.

Delbert Pallesen

Delbert Pallesen, 84, Green River, died Jan. 5 at Castle Rock Convalescent Center following a brief illness.

He was born July 29, 1919, in Manila, the son of the late Niels and Dora Pearson Pallesen.

He attended schools in Manila where he graduated with the class of 1937. He also attended Weber State College.

He married Antonina Prozke in Augsburg, Germany, in 1946 while he was serving with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was employed by FMC for 25 years and retired as a foreman in 1983. He was also a dedicated rancher in the Manila area for many years.

He was a member of the VFW and served as post commander for Unit 2321. He also belonged to the American Legion, the National Rifle Association, and was instrumental in establishing the Golden Hour Senior Center in Green River. He was also associated with the Department of Agriculture ASCS.

Survivors include his wife Toni of Green River; One son and daughter-in-law, John Pallesen and Linda Acker of Rock Springs; one daughter, Rose Mosbey of Rock Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Rena Pallesen of Manila; one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Leon Sorenson of Huntsville, Utah; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Copyak; and four brothers, Wilbur, William, Doral and Forrest Pallesen.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Green River. Rev. Russ Johnson will officiate.

Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Keith Leroy Hodges

Keith Leroy Hodges, 34, a lifetime resident of Green River died Monday at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

He was born Feb. 20, 1969, in Rock Springs, the son of Mark Keith Hodges and Judith Ann Scott.

He attended schools in Green River and was a Green River High School graduate with the class of 1987. He also attended the University of Wyoming and Central Wyoming Community College.

He married Lisa May on June 6, 1987 in Green River.

Hodges was employed as a miner and roof bolter at OCI. He was a member of the Green River City Council and a member of the Flaming Gorge Days Committee.

His interests included snowmobiling, hunting and bareback rodeo horseback riding.

Survivors include his wife Lisa of Green River; father Mark Hodges of Green River; mother Judith Ann Darling of Austin, Texas; two sons, Garrett Thomas Hodges and Clayton Joseph Hodges, both of Green River; daughter Kimberlee Janell Hodges of Green River; one brother Kenneth Legg of Austin, Texas; one sister Kimberly Ann Curry and husband Daniel of Ozark, Ala.; two uncles Richard Hodges and wife Anndale and Gary Hodges and wife Betty; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one uncle.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Feb. 6 at the Island Pavilion in Green River. Pastor Wayne of the Worldwide Church of God will conduct the services.

Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery.

Friends may call at Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services.

Heidi Lynn Beck

Heidi Lynn Beck, 20, Green River, died this morning at the University of Utah Medical Center following a battle with cancer.

She was born Aug. 21, 1983, in Rock Springs, the daughter of Henry Leroy and Mary Christine Harsha.

She attended schools in Green River and graduated from Expedition Academy with the class of 2002.

She married Brian John Beck in Junction City, Kan., in 2002.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her interests included candle making, painting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Aspyn Michelle Beck; her parents, all of Green River; two brothers, Patrick Henry and Joey Leroy Harsha, both of Rock Springs; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Betty Jean Corazza and her maternal grandparents, Dr. Emil and Helen Gaensslen.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Tom Sheridan officiating.

A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Feb. 1 at the church. Interment will be at the Riverview cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday until time of services.

Ronald E. Strong

Ronald E. Strong, 78, Delta, Colo., died Jan. 20 at Sage View Care Center where he had been a resident for one month.

He was born July 25, 1925, in Murdo, S.D., the of the late Henry Otto and Minnie Mae Amick Strong.

He attended schools in Salem, S.D., and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. he married Ivis Keith in Michell, S.D. on 1947 and they later divorced.

He was a self-employed drywall installer and retired in 1993.

His interests included panning for gold, camping and searching out gold mines.

Survivors include three sons, Rick Strong and wife Sandy of Delta, Randy Strong of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joshua Strong of Garden City, Kan.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Paine of Green River and Wendy and Matt Hall of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Maxine of South Dakota; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Louie, Warren, Otto, Rex and Paul.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be conducted in Colorado at a later date.

Bonnie Smith Simpson

Bonnie Smith Simpson, 56, Cody, died Jan. 16 at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, Mont.

She was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Rock Springs, the daughter of John and Adella Smith.

She spent her childhood in Granger and graduated from Green River High School. She also graduated from the University of Wyoming where she majored in elementary education.

She married Joe F. Simpson in 1971 and they moved to Cody in 1974.

She loved camping, fishing hunting, rock hunting and spending time with her family at their cabin in Pinedale.

She belonged to several dart and bowling leagues.

Survivors include her mother, Adella Hummer; her husband; two brothers, Jim and John Smith; sister Jodell Wilson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carol Wheeler and Shon and Julie Simpson; one daughter, Kimberly; two granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Ella Louise Quade Wiens

Ella Louise Quade Wiens, 102, died Jan. 3 following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 28, 1901, in Jeffers, Minn., the daughter of the late August and Pauline Quade.

She married David Wiens in 1921 and he preceded her in death in 1977.

Survivors include two daughters, Leitrice Lev and husband Lee of Green River, and Verdella Jacobsen of Duluth, Minn.; two sons Allen Wiens of Duluth and Marvin Wiens of Lincoln, Neb., 16 grandchildren, including David Lev of Green River and Andy Lev of Rock Springs, 20 great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 8 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Duluth, Minn.

Hazel Luella Verts

Hazel Luella Verts, 88, died Jan. 15 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

She was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Kidder, S. D., the daughter of the late Will and Adeline Dosch Schlagel.

She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the Elks Lodge, the Presbyterian Church, and her hobbies included gardening and involvement with the Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, coin club.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Merlin and Kathleen Verts of Fort Bridger, and Gifford and Roselie Bray of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Elmer and Rueben Schlagel; and two sisters, Violet Glodrey and Florence Surre.

Cremation has taken place at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston.

Veda Fern Brangham Parson

Veda Fern Brangham Parson, 80, Rock Springs, died Jan. 11 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River.

She was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Hilliard Flats, the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Cook Pierce.

She attended school in Hilliard Flats and college in Salt Lake City. She married Harold "Red" Brangham in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1971. She married Gordon Parson in Las Vegas in 1978 and he also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church and her interests included knitting, crocheting and needlework.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Oliver Pat and Venoa Brangham, and Tom and Carol Brangham, all of Green River; two daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Steve Clabaugh of Shoshone and Jill and Mike Roosa of Rock Springs; seven brothers, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 15 at the First Congregational Church in Rock Springs. Interment was in the Evanston City cemetery.
