Alexander Perry Osborn III

CASPER - Alexander Perry Osborn III, 53, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Wyoming Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 19, 1955, in Manhattan, N.Y., to Alexander Perry Osborn Jr. and Marion Osborn. He attended school in Thermopolis and graduated from high school in Worland in 1973.

He then served in the U.S. Army based out of Fort Jackson, S.C. His family moved to Casper in 1983, where he worked as a truck driver and in the oilfields. He was employed by C & A Transportation until the time of his death.

His interests included golfing, being in the outdoors, football and spending time with his family and friends.

He was survived by his wife, Lola Leah; sons, David Eugene Osborn, Gary Wayne Osborn and Alexander Perry Osborn IV; mother, Marion Osborn; brothers, Robert B. Cutler Jr. and Peter Campbell; sister, Virginia Treherne-Thomas; daughters-in-laws, Michelle and Sharon; and grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Jorden, Kristin, Sara, Devon, Kay Lee, and Devon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Perry Osborn Jr.; brother, Michael Campbell; and sister, Camilla Coolidge.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Faith Assembly of God Church in Casper. The Rev. Ron Blauvelt officiated. Cremation has taken place.

Anne Wright McCraken

CHEYENNE - Anne Wright McCraken, 76, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008. She was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Vine Grove, Ky. She grew up in St. Louis and Frankford, Mo. She attended the University of Wyoming. She married Robert S. McCraken on May 6, 1960. Her husband was the publisher of the Wyoming Eagle and Wyoming State Tribune for three decades.

Mrs. McCraken was an owner of Cheyenne Newspapers Inc., publisher of the Wyoming Tribune Eagle and Laramie Boomerang and served on the board of directors for many years. She also served on the corporate boards and was an owner of the Rawlins Daily Times, Daily Rocket-Miner in Rock Springs and Northern Wyoming Daily News in Worland.

Active in community affairs, she was a charter member of the Foundation Board for Laramie County Memorial Hospital, now known as the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and a past president of the DePaul Hospital Guild.

She was a former member of the Women's Civic League and Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum. She served on the committee for the dedication of the museum's Vandewark Wing. She was a past member of the Cheyenne Symphony board of directors and charter member and co-founder of the Laramie County Tennis Club. Mrs. McCraken was one of the organizers of the campaign that led to the construction of a new, modern facility for the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Her interests included classical music and opera, ballroom dancing, tennis, gourmet cooking and traveling with her husband and friends.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Janice McCraken; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joe Marek; grandson, Rob McCraken; sister-in-law, Marvel McCraken; nieces and nephews, Stacy McCraken of Cheyenne, Karl McCraken and wife Trudy of Laramie, Tracy McCraken of Lincoln, Neb., Mary Vehige and husband Ed and Dave Neill and wife Debbie, all of Wright City, Mo., and Donnell Neill and wife Kathy of Windsor, Mo.; and several great-nephews and great-nieces in Missouri, Utah, New Mexico, Maryland and Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brother-in-law, Bill McCraken; sisters, Edna Riley, Lillian Wright, Le Krieger and Milly Neill; and a brother, Charles Wright.

In accordance with her wishes, a private family observance will be conducted after her cremation.

Glenn Thomas

EVANSTON - Glenn Thomas, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at Evanston Regional Hospital.

He was born Feb. 1, 1921 in Hiawatha, Utah, the son of Levi Reese and Nellie (Banner) Thomas.

He married Leona Livingston on Feb. 10, 1943, in Tampa, Fla. Their marriage was later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on Oct. 31, 1998. She later died. He married Alice Cameron on Oct. 29, 1979, in Lyman. He worked and retired from FMC.

His interests included fishing, hunting, painting, playing music and spending time working on mechanics.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his sons, Glenn Allen and wife Rita Thomas of Big Piney, Donald Dean and wife Jo Ann Thomas of Mountain View and Burl Lee and wife Nancy Thomas of Lake Wells, Fla.; a daughter, Dorothy Ann and husband Lynn Walk of Lyman, two sisters, Thelma and wife Ramon Madrid of Price, Utah, and Nelli Everley of Ivins, Utah; sister-in-law, Marilyn Thomas of Green River; grandchildren, Lonnie and husband Todd Robinson, Glenn and wife Jenny Thomas, Mike and wife Annie Walk, Brent and wife Natalie Walk, Susan and husband Tom Crofutt, Archie Thomas, Heather and husband J.R. Sanchez, Dustin and wife Amanda Thomas, Shawn Thomas and David and wife Crystal Rouchka; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both spouses; one son, Reese; a daughter, Susan; one great-grandson, Joseph; three brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at the Urie LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be conducted one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow services at the Lyman cemetery in Lyman.

Steve James Kalivas

GREEN RIVER - Steve James Kalivas, 85, of 324 Jensen St., Green River, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. A longtime resident of Green River, he died following a brief illness.

He was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Logga Messinia, Greece, the son of James and Efthemia Mandros Kalivas. He attended school in Green River and was a Green River High School graduate with the class of 1940.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as a tech fifth grade in the 82nd Field Hospital, stationed in the Pacific Theater. He received the American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

He married Donna Weed on Aug. 3, 1947, in Green River. They were married 61 years.

Mr. Kalivas was employed by FMC for 28 years and retired as a maintenance planner and consultant.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

His interests included golfing, traveling to Las Vegas, Mesquite and Wendover, Nev. to gamble, being an avid University of Wyoming football fan and spending time with his family and friends, especially going to McDonalds for coffee with his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Faye Kalivas of Green River; two sons, Michael Kalivas and Ron Kalivas and wife Donna B., all of Green River; one daughter, Janice Kalivas of Green River; two brothers, Gus Kalivas and wife Mary of Green River and Bill Kalivas and wife Cheryl of Pocatello, Idaho; three sisters-in-law, Irene Kalivas and Georgia Kalivas, both of Green River, and Helen Kalivas of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, George and Tony; and one sister, Anna.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 405 N St., Rock Springs. A prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel, 263 E. Flaming Gorge Way, Green River. Friends may call from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vase Chapel and at the church until service time Wednesday.

Veronica Louise Glagovich

LOS MOLINOS, Calif. - Veronica Louise Glagovich, 74, of Los Molinos, Calif., died Monday, June 9, 2008, at her daughter's home following a battle with cancer.

She was born June 10, 1933 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Bernard and Irma Todd. She was a 1952 graduate of Rock Springs High School. She married Paul Glagovich of Kemmerer.

She worked as a food services manager at the South Bay Union High School District in California and retired in 1993.

Her interests included gardening, traveling with her husband and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her children, Paula Wells of Lancaster, Calif., Donald Glagovich of Ventura, Calif., Ronald Glagovich and Jenny Dyson, both of Taft, Calif.; sisters, Catherine Astle of Salt Lake City and Marie Todd of Kuna, Idaho; brother, Leo Todd of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paul Glagovich; sisters, Vivian Bartek, Helen Hamm and Bernice Isherwood; and brothers, Patrick Todd and Paul Todd.

Memorial services took place Friday, June 13, 2008, in Lancaster. Graveside services will be conducted at Rock Springs cemetery at a later date. People interests in attending are asked to contact Paula Wells at pandewells@verizon.net.

Anthony David Knezovich

ROCK SPRINGS - Anthony David Knezovich, 54, of 1605 Donalynn Drive No. 16, Rock Springs, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008. He was a longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Superior and Lander.

He was born May 15, 1954, in Rock Springs, the son of Marion R. Knezovich and Mary N. Nosich. He attended school in Rock Springs, Superior and Lander and was a 1972 graduate of the Lander Valley High School.

He married Sandra Kay Pollock on May 17, 2003, in Rock Springs.

Mr. Knezovich was the owner operator of AA Electric, Plumbing and Excavation.

He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and IAEI and a former member I.B.E.W. Local 322.

His interests included flying airplanes, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, parachuting and traveling to Las Vegas to see the shows.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Kay Knezovich of Rock Springs; two sons, Anthony David Knezovich II and wife Stacey Ramirez and Brenton Robert Knezovich, all of Rock Springs; two daughters, Kabrina Kili Palmer and husband Blaine of Lewisville, Idaho, and DeanAnn Marie Knezovich Swick and husband Ed of Rock Springs; stepdaughters, Tami Petty of Cheyenne and Tina Frullo and husband Pete of Rock Springs; one stepson, Troy Anderson and wife Emily of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Edward Franklin 'Ozzie' Knezovich of Superior and William 'Billy' Knezovich and wife Patricia of Lander; 14 grandchildren, Austin Gilbert, Sierra Gilbert, Shawnnee Palmer, Braxten Palmer, Destiny Knezovich, Kaylie Knezovich, Lynzie Swick, Christine Stanley, Reagan Smith, Payton Knezovich, Brianna Frullo, Kelli Frullo, Kayle Petty and Joe Petty; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Geraldine Pollock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion R. and Mary N. Nosich Knezovich; and one brother, Marion Robert Knezovich Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. Father Jing Baldo will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Section of the Rock Springs, Municipal cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.

Leo Cox

TUCSON, Ariz. - Leo Cox, 82, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, in Tucson, Ariz. A resident of Tucson and Garden City, Utah, he died following a two-month illness in the care of his wife.

He was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Logan, Utah, the grandson of LDS pioneer Brigham Spackman. Following his mother's death when he was 6 years old, he lived with his Uncle Fred and Aunt LaVira Jeppesen for two years in Bancroft, Idaho. He then lived with his brother Carl Worth and wife Nita, who raised him in Pocatello, Idaho.

After attending the Idaho State University vocational welding school, at age 16 he began work at shipyards in Portland, Ore., and Tacoma, Wash. At 18, Mr. Cox was an Army paratrooper and served as an M.P. in Japan during the U.S. occupation.

In 1946, he returned to Pocatello and worked as a plumber-pipefitter.

He married Shirley Mae Thornock in 1950. They raised their children in Pocatello, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Rock Springs.

Mr. Cox was a union plumber-pipefitter and instrument technician, working on numerous construction jobs and power plants, while his wife taught school. Following their retirements, Mr. Cox and his wife split time between their residences in Tucson and Garden City (Bear Lake).

His interests included nature, camping, fishing, boating, waterskiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling with family and woodworking to support his hobby and business, Heirloom Oak.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; sons, Steven M. Cox and partner Tung K. Dinh of Seattle and Jeffrey L. Cox and wife Karen and children Tyler W. and Spencer T. of Port Orchard, Wash.; and daughter, Janet E. Toy and husband David K. Toy and children Alex G. Witzel, Annaliese W. Gardner and husband Chet and Elizabeth R. Dimmitt and stepchildren Halden A. Toy, Kyle D. Toy and Daniel K. Toy, all of Marysville, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Spackman Worth Cox and George Cox; and siblings, Carl F. Worth, Beryl Worth Stark, Garr Worth, Grant Worth and infant Dow Worth.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at the LDS Ward on Bear Lake Boulevard, Garden City. A graveside dedication will follow at the Garden City cemetery. Friends and family will then gather at the Garden City LDS Ward Cultural Hall for a luncheon.

Mildred "Millie" Gillitzer

CODY - Mildred 'Millie' Gillitzer, 84, of Cody, died Thursday July 17, 2008.

She was born Dec. 3, 1923, to Sam and Andja Raicevich Mirich, the oldest of seven children.

She married William 'Bill' Gillitzer on Feb. 9, 1946, in Rock Springs.

They lived in Charleston, S.C. after their wedding, while her husband finished his service in the Navy. They then moved to St. Joseph, Minn. After the birth of their daughter, Helen Carol, they returned to Rock Springs. They later moved to Cody.

She was recognized for her works with many awards, including the Evalyn Hoover Lifetime Achievement Award present to her by Gov. Dave Freudenthal in 2005. This award was given for her service to seniors and the Aging Network of Wyoming. She was active in helping Cody get its senior center and worked many years to keep it running.

Being concerned about low-income housing for seniors, she was involved in the Mountain View Manor board and was its president for 25 years. Her advocacy for senior issues took her to Washington, D.C., three times and included service as a Wyoming Silver Haired Legislator.

For decades she was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, doing community service and helping veterans and their families. She had also been the Park County coordinator for temporary emergency food distributions and Park County chairman for emergency food and shelter.

She was a Democrat and was active locally for many years. She received more than 20 awards from a variety of organizations. She also served on many local, state and national boards.

She received a 'Sincere Appreciation Award' from the parishioners of St. Anthony's Catholic Church for her years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen of Cody; brothers, Pete and wife Esther Mirich of LaSalle, Colo., John Mirich of Denver, Nick and wife Vida Mirich of Cheyenne and Guy and wife Wilma Mirich of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; sister, Helen Trimble of Needham, Mass.; sister-in-law, Judi Mirich of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, who died on their 50th wedding anniversary; parents; brother, Dan Mirich; a nephew; and a great-nephew.

Vigil services were conducted Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial was conducted Thursday, July 24, 2008, at the church. Interment followed at Riverside cemetery.

Steven J. Buh

MARION, Iowa - Steven J. Buh, 52, of 1445 17th Ave., Marion, Iowa, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, near Orange City, Iowa. He died as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born Aug. 22, 1955, the son of Ben and Lillian June (Matiba) Buh in Rock Springs.

He married Sharlee Guthridge on Feb. 9, 1980, in Lander.

He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering.

He worked for FMC, PCS, Penford, North American Salt and, most recently, Darling International.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlee; three sons, Eric, Brian and Michael; parents, Ben and Lillian June Buh; one sister, Sandy Schnorf of Glenrock; and numerous other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Marion. The Rev. Mike Morgan will conduct the services.

The family will greet people 2-4 p.m. Friday before the service at the church. A local memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Fred Clark Jr.

GREEN RIVER - Fred Clark Jr., 82, of 128 Evans St., Green River, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

A longtime resident of Green River, he had been in ill health for two years.

He was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Reliance, the son of Fred Clark Sr. and Nettie Potter Clark. He attended schools in Winton and Rock Springs. He was a 1943 graduate of Rock Springs High School.

He married the former Annie Buh on Jan. 15, 1947, in Rock Springs.

She preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2003.

Mr. Clark was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was stationed on the USS Ommaney Bay, which was sunk by a kamikaze plane.

He was employed at FMC as a welder for 29 years and retired in 1989.

His interests included fishing, watching Tiger Woods play golf on the television, being an avid bowler and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Clark was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include two daughters, Karon Owens and husband Rick of Green River and Sharon Dickbernd and husband David of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Bill Clark of Havenville, Mont.; one sister, Marie Pivik of Pinedale; 15 grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nettie Clark; five brothers, John R. 'Jack' Clark, Tom Clark, Harold Clark, Donald Clark and Keith Clark; and four sisters, LaVerne Campbell, Ruth Beutel, Nettie Clark and Vera Clark.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at the LDS Chapel, 1000 W. Fourth N., Green River. Military graveside services and interment will be in the Riverview cemetery in Green River. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel, 263 E. Flaming Gorge Way, Green River, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Sylvia Nancy Brcko

ROCK SPRINGS - Sylvia Nancy Brcko, 56, of 1339 Palisades Way, Rock Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A lifetime resident of Rock Springs, Ms. Brcko died following a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Rock Springs, the daughter of William and Lillian Brcko. She attended schools in Rock Springs.

Her interests included babysitting her nieces and nephews, spending time with her dog Punky, singing and watching old movies.

Survivors include one brother, Mark Brcko of Mesquite, Nev.; one sister, Billie Lee Mattinson of Rock Springs; brother-in-law, Ralph Mattinson; nephew, Neil A. Mattinson and wife Shelly of Rock Springs; nieces, Raelynn Dziadosz of Rock Springs and Karen McGinnis of Santa Ana, Calif.; great-nephews, Kevin Mattinson, Trevor Mattinson, Darek Mattinson and Nick Dziadosz; great-nieces, Kinlee Mattinson and Lauren Dziadosz; aunts, Dorothy 'Tykie' DeBernardi, Agnes 'Beba' Bailey and Eva Davis; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Mildred 'Toofie' Taucher, Sylvia Shields and Eleanor 'Bugs' Brcko; and uncles, Jake Brcko and Victor 'Sonny' Brcko.

Following cremation, a memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk St., Rock Springs. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the Vase Chapel.

Donald Wesley Mount

BASIN, Ariz. - Donald Wesley Mount, 67, of Tonto Basin, Ariz., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, in Green River. A resident of Tonto Basin and former Green River resident, he died from a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Minerva, Ohio, the son of Donald Earl and Blanche Elizabeth Barnhart Mount. He attended schools in Tiltonsville, Ohio. He married Marcia Mount in Laughlin, Nev.

Mr. Mount served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was the owner and operator of Don's Tack for 20 years.

His interests included hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting and panning for gold.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia; six sons, Wayne Mount and wife Debra of Green River, Bob Mount, Greg Mount, Darrell Mount, Steve Mount and Rick Mount; one daughter, Shirley Richardson and husband Steve; one brother, Larry Mount and wife Patsy of Amesville, Ohio; one sister, Mary Sue Mount of Fort Collins, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following cremation, a celebration of life for friends and family will be conducted from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at 112 S. Fourth W. in Green River.
