William Dailey - 11/23/04

William "Bill" Dailey, 85, of Gillette died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Private family graveside services will take place at a later date.

He was born Jan. 24, 1919, to James and Myrtle (Ross) Dailey in Moberly, Mo. He was raised and educated in Moberly until his enlistment in the U.S. Army, where he served until 1945.

He returned to Missouri and married Betty Jean Wilson in October 1947. They moved to Peoria, Ill. He worked as a machinist for Caterpiller for 48 years. He also worked for the Peoria Public Library.

Several years into his retirement, he and his wife moved to Gillette to be near their children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed watching football; his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. He liked to help out his friends and family. He will be most remembered for being able to see the best in everyone.

Mr. Dailey is survived by one son, Donald C. Dailey of Gillette; one daughter, Jill Derrickson of Gillette; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2001; one daughter, Yvetta, in 1984; and one brother.

Dennis E. Schuetz - 11/24/04

Memorial services for Dennis E. Schuetz, 35, formerly of Gillette, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Park Community Church with the Rev. Milo Miller officiating.

Mr. Schuetz died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, from injuries he received in a car accident near Crawford, Neb.

He was born Dec. 19, 1968, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Joel and Pam (Hale) Schuetz.

He moved to Cheyenne in 1974. He attended Jessup Elementary School, McCormick Junior High and Central High School, were he graduated in 1987. He attended the University of Wyoming, where he graduated in 1991 with a bachelor of science degree in education.

On May 24, 1997, he married Michelle Suedekum in Gillette.

He moved to Casper in September 1997 where he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Before living in Casper, he was a math teacher at Cheyenne Central High School and he also worked at Federal Express in Sheridan.

He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make those around him laugh.

His interests included road and mountain biking, cross-country and downhill skiing, soccer, playing Bunko, volleyball, music, playing with his dogs Denali and Whitney, spending time with his friends, cooking, and traveling.

Mr. Schuetz is survived by his wife of Casper; his parents of Cheyenne; two sisters, Brenda Fanning and Wendy Pino; his grandmother, Dora Hale of Crawford; three nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ellis Hale; and grandparents, Phillip and Virginia (Nunn) Schuetz.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Casper Humane Society, the Platte River Parkway Trust or the charity of choice.

Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Clair Bud Weaver - 11/26/04

Graveside services for Clair Bud Weaver, 88, formerly of Campbell County, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif.

A memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Community Bible Church in Sunland, Calif.

Mr. Weaver died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Pasadena, Calif., where he lived.

He grew up on a farm near Rozet. He attended Campbell County High School, where he starred on both the football and basketball teams.

He married a local girl, Doris Dickey, and they moved to southern California, where he worked at Lockheed Aircraft Company for more than 50 years.

Mr. Weaver is survived by four children; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years.

Deborah Ostby Vincent/11-28-04

Funeral services for Deborah Fay Ostby Vincent, 51, of Gillette, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the New Life Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Martin Crump of Family Life Church officiating.

Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Hulett Cemetery in Hulett.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Vincent died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper of heart complications.

She was born May 13, 1953, in Deadwood, S.D., to Soren and Arvilla (Brovald) Ostby. She was raised and educated in Hulett.

After her schooling she married Terry Miller in Hulett on July 17, 1971. They had two children: Tammy and Stacy. The couple made their family home in Gillette.

She devoted her time to her children by staying home with them until the youngest was through school. In the mid-1990s she began to work with her sister in commercial cleaning. In 2000, Campbell County hired her, and she cleaned and helped to maintain Cam-plex and the Campbell County Courthouse.

She married Kip Vincent on Aug. 26, 2001, in Gillette.

Mrs. Vincent enjoyed collecting angels, spending time with her husband, golfing, going to Deadwood and traveling. The couple were anticipating a trip to Mexico in January.

She is survived by her parents of Spearfish, S.D.; her husband of Gillette; one daughter, Tammy Pouge of Lander; five sisters, Janis Mallory of Lead, S.D., Sandy Rauch of Gillette, Gayleen Raber of Belle Fourche, S.D., Jolleen Knapp of Firestone, Colo., and Dela Bears of Hulett; four grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by her grandparents and her daughter Stacy in 1998.

Clement Wirtz/11-28-04

Funeral services for Clement Wirtz, 80, the father of a Gillette woman, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church in Mandan, N.D., with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating.

Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the Mandan Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Buehler-Larson Funeral Home in Mandan where a parish vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church.

Mr. Wirtz, of Mandan, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at a Bismarck, N.D., hospital.

He was born June 6, 1924, in Mandan to Steve and Elizabeth (Bobb) Wirtz. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Army, serving in the Pacific theater.

On July 14, 1959, he married Christine Albrecht Morris in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He was employed by Montana-Dakota Utilities for 39 years, retiring in 1984.

Mr. Wirtz is survived by his wife; two daughters, including Bonnie Wangler-Barrett of Gillette; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
