DOROTHY M. CONINE

Cheyenne - Trisagion service for Dorothy M Conine, 86, will be at 7:00 tonight at Schrader Chapel. Services will be Friday at 1:00 pm at the Greek Othodox Church of Saints Constantine and Helen with Father Dean Talagan and Father Peter Harrison officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm today at 412 E 20th Street and after 5:00 tonight at 6857 Valley View. Interment will be in Beth El Cemetery. She died Wednesday at United Medical Center - West.

She was born February 9, 1911 in Ravenna, Michigan. She married " target="_blank">married Harold "Quack" Conine on July 1, 1936 in Kimball, Nebraska.

Conine had been employed in hotel management. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, Ladies of Philoptochos Society, the Great Plains Shrine, Daughters of the Nile, X-JWC, Laramie County Republican Women, the American Association of Retired Persons, American Cancer Society, and Mizpah Chapter 36, Order of Eastern Star. She was a volunteer tour guide at the State Capitol and a precinct committee woman.

She was survived by two sons, Jim Conine of Cheyenne, and Tom Conine of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Dawna Conine and Ida Mae Apostolou, both of Cheyenne; one sister, Marie Zerlout of Muskegon, Michigan; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, William and Mary Plumhoff; and four brothers and sisters.

Friends may contribute to the United Medical Center - West Fourth Floor Oncology Unit or Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.

WILLIAM B. ARMSTRONG

Cheyenne - Memorial services for William B Armstrong, 70, will be at 10:00 am Friday at Schrader Chapel. The Reverend David Stratton will officiate. Cremation will be conducted at Schrader Sunset Park Crematory. He died Wednesday in Cheyenne.

He was born November 15, 1926 in Lewiston, Idaho. He married " target="_blank">married Laura Schneider on November 27, 1963 in Cheyenne.

Armstrong had been and engineer and surveyor employed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. He served in the US Navy. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Cheyenne Lodge 1 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Professional Land Surveyors, Cheyenne Engineer's Club and was a 32nd degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Armstrong of Cheyenne; one son, James William Armstrong of Hauppauge, New York; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Archer of Cheyenne; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Armstrong, in 1945.

Friends may contribute to Calvary Baptist Church in Cheyenne.

ROBERT HODGKIN

Boulder - A memorial service for Robert Hodgkin, 67, will be at 10:30 am Thursday at Schrader Chapel. The service will be conducted by the officers of Elks Lodge 660. He died Sunday in Boulder, Colorado.

He was born January 6, 1930, in Denver.

Hodgkin had been an engineer with the Wyoming highway Right-of-Way Department, retiring in 1987. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and twice past exalted ruler of the Elks in Cheyenne.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Hodgkin of Tacoma, Washington, and MIchael Hodgkin of Dunfries, Virginia; a sister, Irene Davis of Cheyenne; three grandchildren; a niece and two aunts.

Honorary pallbeareres will be his friends of the Elks Lodge of Cheyenne.

FAYE MARQUISS
100

Pine Bluffs - Services for Faye Marquiss, 100, will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Schrader Chapel with the Reverend Terilynn Russ officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. She died at Whispering Pines Care Home in Pine Bluffs on Monday.

She was born August 27, 1897, in Plano, Iowa to John and Della Rinehart. The family moved to a farm in the Salem Community north of Pine Bluffs in 1914. She moved into Pine Bluffs in 1965. She married " target="_blank">married Ford Marquiss on December 25, 1917, in Salem Coummunity. He died in 1938.

Marquiss was a Protestant and a member of the Golden Prairie Extension Club.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Marquiss of Hotchkiss, Colorado, and Richard Marquiss of Pine Bluffs; two daughters, La Veta Rohweder and Hazel Gensel, both of Pine Bluffs; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ford Alva Marquiss in 1982.

Pallbearers will be Craig Johnson, Wallace Crowder, Jason Crowder, Robert Crowder, Larry Peters, Jim Van Dorn and Riggan Blackburn.

WILLIAM G. WALTON

Cheyenne - Memorial services for William G Walton, 69, will be at 10:30 am Thursday at Schrader Chapel with Father Skip Reeves officiating. Internment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. He died Sunday in Cheyenne.

He was born June 25, 1928, in Cheyenne. He married " target="_blank">married Sue Ellen Buchanan February 4, 1956, at the Governor's Mansion in Cheyenne.

Walton attended the University of Colorado and received a law degree from the University of Wyoming. He served in the US Army in Korea. He started a law practice in Cheyenne in 1953 and served as assistant US attorney, Wyoming state insurance commissioner from 1967-70 and general counsel for Royal Globe Insurance in New York from 1970-81 when he returned to Cheyenne to resume his law practice. He was a member of Scottish Rite and a 32nd degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Walton of Cheyenne; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Scherger of Guernsey and Carol Walton of Westminster, Colorado; a sister, Ruth Boucher of Merritt Island, Florida; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert D and Harriet L Walton; and a sister, Elizabeth Baggs.

LAURENCE C. HAYS

Cheyenne - Private family service for Laurence C Hays, 72, will be held. Cremation has been conducted at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory. He died Friday at Mountain Towers.

He was born May 29, 1925 in Rochester, Indiana.

Hays was a chef and had been employed by Tiebles Restaurant in Deyer, Indiana. He served in the US Navy.

He is survived by his former wife of 24 years, Evelyn Keller; a daughter, Pam Rogers of Cheyenne; a brother, David Hays of Knox, Indiana; a sister, Maxine Miller of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Kathy Lynn of Huntington, Indiana, Maria Nace of Denver, Colorado, James Nace and Angela Nace, both of Cheyenne; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Hays; and a daughter, Faith DuCoin in 1978.

Cheyenne - Services for C James Orr, 59, will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at First Congregational Church with the Reverand Blake LaMunyon officiating. He died Wednesday in Denver.

He was born October 24, 1937 in Los Angeles. He married " target="_blank">married Helen J Orr on August 24, 1958, in Sheridan.

Orr had been chairman of the State Board of Equalizatin. He served in the US Army and Wyoming Air National Guard. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Sheridan, the Rotary Club, Public Relations Committee of Cheyenne Frontier Days and an auxiliary member of Laramie County Republican Women, the Executives Club, Acacia Lodge 11 AF & AM, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, the University of Wyoming Alumni Association and Phi Delta Theta.

He is survived by his wife, Helen J Orr; two sons, Jimmy Orr of Cheyenne and Danny Orr of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter, Julie Alm of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; his mother, Mariana Orr of Sheridan; one brother, Tim Orr of Billings, Montana; one sister, Mary Orr Meyer of Laramie; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Philip James Orr.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Public Relations Committee.

Cheyenne - Graveside services for Irma White, 95, will be at 1:30 on Monday at Lakeview Cemetary with Pastor Roger Aurand officiating. She died Thursday in Cheyenne.

She was born January 31, 1902, in Logan, Kansas.

White had been a bookkeeper for Laramie County. She had been affiliated with the North Christian Church.

She is survived by a son, Bill White of Graham, Washington; a daughter, Shirley Johnston of Boulder, Colorado; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel B White; a brother, Harold Botkin; and a sister, Eva Brunson.

DONALD ROUNDS

Cheyenne - Arrangements for Donald Rounds, 75, are pending. Visitation will be from 8:00 this morning until 8:00 tonight at Schrader Funeral Home. He died Monday at United Medical Center.

He was born October 4, 1922, in Sundance. He married " target="_blank">married Norma Langhoff February 9, 1944, in the Little Church Around the Corner in New York City.

Rounds moved to Pine Bluffs with his family in 1961. He taught high school history and coached boys' basketball, football and track for nine years. He became an elementary principal and remained in the Pine Bluffs school system until 1978. He served in World War II in the US Navy.

He had been an member of St Christopher's Episcopal Church, American Legion Post 6, Moose Lodge in Cheyenne, Sundance Lodge 9 AF&AM, Cheyenne Veterans of Foreign Wars and Wyoming Board of Realtors.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Rounds or Cheyenne; a son, Timothy Rounds of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; two daughters, Donna Petsch of Meridan and Joan Berryman of Lincoln, Nebraska; a sister, Helen Hankins of Cold Springs, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Rounds; a granddaughter, Megan Rounds; a brother, Ted Rounds; and his parents, Edwin and Grace Rounds.
