Ina Faye Lomax, 60, of Dayton died Jan. 20, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Dayton Community Church with the Rev. Dennis Goodin officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery Elks Section. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Andrea Marie `Andy' Bogensberger

Andrea Marie Andy Bogensberger, 72, of Sheridan died Jan. 18, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Mrs. Bogensberger was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Walsenberg, Colo., to Omar and Margaret (Miller) Sorensen. The family moved to Torrington when she was an infant. She grew up and graduated from high school in Torrington and attended the University of Wyoming. She married William Bogy Bogensberger on Aug. 31, 1957, in Laramie. They lived in several places including Phoenix, Omaha, Neb., Conrad, Mont., Jacksonville, Fla., Bridgeport, Wash., and Green River before moving to Sheridan in 1984. Mr. Bogensberger died in 1989. Mrs. Bogensberger maintained a partial residence in Boston for a time to be near her daughter. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and PEO. She enjoyed counted-cross stitch, crossword puzzles, her cats, and being with family and friends. Survivors include a son, Jim, and a daughter, Anne Ginn, both of Omaha. Memorials may be made to Siena Francis House, 1792 Nicholas St., Omaha, NE 68101 or to Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 E. Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Juanita C. Vanderhoef

Juanita C. Vanderhoef, 88, of Dayton died Jan. 18, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Services will be later on the family ranch. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Dayton Volunteer Fire and Rescue in care of Jon Miles, P.O. Box 396, Dayton, WY 82836.

Anna L. Clark

Anna L. Clark, 79, of Sheridan died Jan. 19, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Senior Citizens Center, 211 Smith St., Sheridan, WY 82801.

Jane Farrington

Jane Farrington, 93, of Butte, Mont., died Jan. 20, 2008, in St. James Hospital in Butte after a brief illness. She was mother of Frank Farrington of Sheridan. Cremation has taken place, and plans for a memorial service will be announced later. Arrangements are with Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home of Butte. Mrs. Farrington was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Butte to Frank and Willine (Nichols) Leonard. She lived in Butte most of her life, attending schools there. She graduated from the University of Montana. She worked for IBM, Texaco, MPS Blue Shield, and St. James Hospital and was president of Treasure State Mining Co. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, PEO, Homer Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and American Association of University Women. She helped create the Butte Heritage Cookbook and was a volunteer for patients at Montana State, Butte Community, Rochester Methodist, Fort Harrison and Fort Mackenzie hospitals. She enjoyed playing bridge, playing the piano and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Al Farrington, and two sisters, Marjorie and Elizabeth. Survivors include a second son, Albert; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Easter Seals/Highlands Hospice, 3703 Harrison Ave., Butte, MT 59701.

Sebastian Juaquin Michelena Jr.

Former Sheridan High School teacher Sebastian Juaquin Michelena Jr., 67, of Buffalo died Jan. 15, 2008, in Johnson County Health Care Center. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with the Rev. Pete Johnson officiating. A vigil service and rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Friday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Willow Grove cemetery with graveside services following the Mass. Mr. Michelena was born June 16, 1940, in Buffalo to Sebastian and Anna Kraen Michelena. He grew up and attended school in Arvada and graduated from Arvada High School. He attended Sheridan College for two years before transferring to Black Hills State College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He later attended the University of Wyoming, where he received his master's degree in education. Mr. Michelena taught art at Sheridan High School before moving to Lovelock, Nev. He later worked for the Department of Defense Education System, teaching in Italy, in Madrid, Spain, for 18 years, and in Germany. He later became an education administrator and traveled to Africa, Asia and other parts of the world. He retired in 2005 and moved to Buffalo to be near his family. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was proud of his Basque heritage and enjoyed travel. He was preceded in death by one brother, Seberiano. Survivors include six brothers, Joseph of Clearmont, Jean of Buffalo, Martin and Santiago, both of Sheridan, Juaquin of Arvada, and Peter of Farmington, N.M.; and four sisters, Kathleen Smith and Marcina McKenzie, both of Sheridan, Betty Kay Green of Cheyenne, and Mary Louise Bradshaw of Fort Worth, Texas. Memorials may be made to Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice or the Wyoming Retired Priests Fund in care of Adams Funeral Home.

Ruth Katherine (Griessl) Kellison

Former Sheridan resident Ruth Katherine (Griessl) Kellison, 82, of Billings died Dec. 27, 2007, in Billings. A memorial service will be in Sheridan later. Born Aug. 25, 1925, in Fuerth, Bavaria, Germany, she was a longtime resident of Sheridan, working for Lonabaugh and Riggs law firm for 30 years until she retired in 1991. She lived in Billings 12 years and was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard C. Kellison. Survivors include two daughters, Margot Reagan of Quemado, N.M., and Jennie Kuzara of Davey, Neb.; a son, Theodore of Billings; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library.

Harold U. `Hap' Herman

Memorial services for Harold U. Hap Herman, 73, of Ranchester will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sheridan Wesleyan Church with the Revs. Darrell Smith and Chuck Lucas officiating. Inurnment will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Herman died Jan. 10, 2008, in Sheridan Manor. He was born April 14, 1934, in Chicago to Ulrich Thomas and Bertha (Haarth) Herman. He grew up and attended schools in Chicago and Brookfield, Ill., and graduated in 1953 from Riverside-Brookfield High School. He married Paula Montgomery in Aurora, Ill., on Sept. 1, 1956. He served in the U.S. Army in 1957. He was a machine design engineer in Illinois for 17 years before the family moved to Ranchester, where it owned and operated Ranchester Best Western Motel from 1970-76. He built, owned and operated Happy's Hut in Ranchester from 1977-80 and was director of Ranchester's Public Works until 2001, when he retired. He was a member of Ranchester/Dayton Rotary Club and its secretary since 1970. He was also a member of the board of directors of Christmas in April. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, building model sailboats, reading, helping others and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall and Robert; and a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Hans of Sheridan and Kort of Godfrey, Ill.; a daughter, Caryn Rivinius of Gackle, N.D.; a brother, Richard of Witt, Ill.; and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Christmas in April/Building Together, the Ranchester/Dayton Rotary, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Louise American Horse

Memorial services for Louise American Horse, 58, of Sheridan will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Private burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. American Horse died Jan. 10, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born March 3, 1949, in Spokane, Wash., to Raymond and Margaret Doty. She married Newton American Horse on March 21, 1998, in Spokane. She enjoyed writing stories and reading, especially the Bible. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; four children, Daniel, Laura and Joshua Witham and Jennifer Thompson; an adopted daughter, Jackie Coleman; a brother, Douglas Doty; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made in care of Kane Funeral Home, 689 Meridian, Sheridan, WY 82801 to help the family with funeral expenses.

Edward F. Miech

Memorial services for Edward F. Miech, 81, of Sheridan will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles building in Sheridan Commercial Park. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Miech died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, in the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. He was born Aug. 7, 1926, in Ulm to Joseph and Anna Miech. He served in the Army from 1944 until 1946, when he was honorably discharged. He enjoyed hunting, music, ranching and farming and the company of his longtime companion, Everta Wise. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, Mike, George and John; and four sisters, Ann Kumor, Mary Powers, Albena Kobielusz and Helen Miech. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Voiles of Gillette and Judith Schreder of Sheridan; two sons, Edward and John, both of Sheridan; three sisters, Rose Linton of New Mexico, Edna Fry of Malibu, Calif., and Mabel Rothwell of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Wesley W. Hoyer

Former Sheridan area resident Wesley W. Hoyer, 74, of Thermopolis died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in Hot Springs County Hospital in Thermopolis. Cremation has taken place, and family services will be in the summer. Arrangements are with Mortimore Funeral Home of Thermopolis. Mr. Hoyer was born May 30, 1933, in Sundance to George and Betty (Sawyer) Hoyer. He grew up and attended school in Sundance. He married Marjorie Simpson on Aug. 16, 1957, in Casper. Mr. Hoyer worked in highway construction around the state of Wyoming until February 1969, when he went to work for Utah International at Shirley Basin. He worked at Decker Coal from 1975-87. He worked in the gold mine at Elko, Nev., for a year then for Walnut Creek in Calvert, Texas, from 1989-94. The Hoyers moved to Thermopolis in 2004. Mr. Hoyer enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, farming and camping. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae and Fern. Survivors include his wife, of Thermopolis; a son, Wayne of Greeley, Colo.; two daughters, Tammy Kibler and Brenda Hoyer, both of Sheridan; a brother, Dutch of Glenrock; two sisters, Darlene Taylor of Spearfish, S.D., and Zelma Hoyer of Sundance; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Donna Marie Taylor

Memorial services for Donna Marie Taylor, 43, of Sheridan, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Mrs. Taylor died Jan. 9, 2008, in her home of health complications. She was born April 21, 1964, in Sheridan to George and the late Dorothy Arzy. She grew up and attended Sheridan schools and graduated from Sheridan College. She worked for Rehabilitation Enterprises of North Eastern Wyoming for several years, then for the Social Security Administration in Sheridan and Gillette. She also later worked for Pixley Transportation and Shuttle Express. She enjoyed playing bingo, crafts, writing poems, reading, watching scary movies, and the company of her companion, Pat Van Rooyen of Sheridan. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, LeOra Kraft, and a stepbrother, Kenny Bridwell. Survivors include a son, Adam Taylor of Sheridan; a stepson, John Van Rooyen of Sheridan; three stepdaughters, Laura Van Rooyen, April Rushing and Christy Van Rooyen, all of Sheridan; her father of Sheridan; her stepmother, Jean Arzy of Sheridan; two brothers, Larry Townsend and Bob Kraft of Sheridan; a stepbrother, Allen Ackerley of Sheridan; two sisters, Linda O'Toole of California and Brenda Smith of Sheridan; a stepsister, Nancy Ackerley of Sheridan; and seven grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Sunlight Federal Credit Unit, 305 S. Main St., Sheridan, WY 82801.

Catherine Marie (Catie) Guelde

A Christian wake service for Catherine Marie (Catie) Guelde, 8, of Story will be 6 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in Story cemetery. Catherine died Jan. 7, 2008, at her residence of natural causes. She was born Nov. 30, 1999, in Deaconess Birth Center in Billings to Clark and Christine (Horton) Guelde. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Community. She enjoyed classical music, especially Mozart, and Kindermusik. Her favorite food was pumpkin pie. She enjoyed being sung to, read to and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Sue Guelde. Survivors include her parents; a sister, Cassandra; two brothers, Christopher and Cameron; grandparents Charles and Joyce Flint of Sheridan and James and Donna Guelde of Meeteetse; and her great-grandmother Anna Flint. Memorials may be made at First Interstate Bank.

Jacob Edward Shoup

BUFFALO - Jacob Edward Shoup, infant son of Ben and Kerri Shoup of Buffalo, was stillborn Dec. 27, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Private family services and burial have taken place under direction of Adams Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Compassionate Friends of Buffalo in care of the funeral home, 351 N. Adams, Buffalo, WY 82834.

Joe C. Keaten

A celebration of the life of Joe C. Keaten, 85, of Sheridan will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Sheridan Country Club with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Keaten died Jan. 5, 2008, in Westview Health Care Center. He was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Carl and Ottie Keaten. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1943 and served until 1946, when he was honorably discharged. He married Jeannette Laird on Dec. 29, 1969, in Waverly, Iowa. He was a sales manager for Mountain Bell Telephone Co., an avid artist and photographer, and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Irma Bishop. Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Eppich of Sheridan; a son, Timothy of Rogers, Ark.; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Horns, 1401 W. Fifth St., Sheridan, WY 82801.

Paul Orum

Funeral services for Paul Orum, 54, of Sheridan will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City, Texas. Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery there. Local arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Orum died Jan. 5, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of apparent natural causes. He was born Nov. 9, 1953, in Ryan, Okla., to Wayne and Jewel Kathleen (Gardner) Orum. He was an automotive technician at A+ Services in Sheridan. He was preceded in death by a sister. Survivors include two sisters, Velda Duncan of Sherman, Texas, and Jane Hubert of Greenville, Texas; and three brothers, Billy of Quinlan, Texas, Walter of Sheridan, and Don of Wolfe City.

Catherine M. Guelde

Catherine M. Guelde, 8, of Story died Jan. 7, 2008, at her residence of natural causes. A Christian wake service will be 6 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. Naomi Lucille Malyurek

Funeral services for Naomi Lucille Malyurek, 94, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Viewing will be 1-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Malyurek died Jan. 6, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Memorials may be sent to Mrs. Malyurek's daughters, who plan to erect a memorial bench in her honor, in care of Coralee Davis, 96 Red Fox Drive, or Annette Buckley, 214 Meade Creek Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
