Mass of Christian Burial for Frances Silla, 87, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter James officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Elks cemetery under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Visitation will be 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Silla died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Monarch to John and Anna (Michalek) Belish. She married Ugo Silla on Aug. 20, 1939, in Monarch. She enjoyed growing roses and other flowers, gardening, reading and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Wargo of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Joe of Castle Rock, Colo.; a brother, Walter Belish of Ranchester; and her grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Life Link or the Sheridan Senior Citizens Center in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Wanda L. DesJarlais

Wanda L. DesJarlais, 85, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, in Westview Health Care Center. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery in Big Horn. Memorials may be made to Holy Name School in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Amanda Jean Blanton

Sheridan native Amanda Jean Blanton, 24, of Wewoka, Okla., died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in an auto accident north of Seminole. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stout Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka. Burial will be in the Blanton Family cemetery at Wewoka. Mrs. Blanton was born Oct. 29, 1981, in Sheridan. She was a graduate of Sheridan High School and attended Seminole State College in Oklahoma. She married Darren Blanton on July 19 in Wewoka. Survivors include her husband and children Keyton Nathanial and Makayla Ann, all of Wewoka; her father, Lionel Altop of Kentucky; and her mother, Tammy Barnes of Dayton. Memorials may be made to the Amanda Blanton Trust at the First United Bank in Wewoka.

Caryl Jane Cook

Caryl Jane Cook, 69, of Buffalo died Sunday morning, Sept. 3, 2006, at her home. She was stepmother of Richard Cook of Clearmont. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Graveside committal services will be in Willow Grove cemetery following the funeral. Services will be followed by a dinner at the White Buffalo. Mrs. Cook was born Sept. 6, 1936, in Billings to George and Thelma Taylor. She grew up and was educated in Worland. She received her degree as a registered nurse from the University of Wyoming. She married Robert Link in 1954 in Worland. They were later divorced. She married Herschel Best in Powell in the early 1970s. Mr. Best died. She married Ed Cook on Dec. 3, 1977, in Buffalo. She was a bartender and cook for many years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and past state president of the Eagles. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, two sons and one grandson. Other survivors include her husband, of Buffalo; two sons, Mike Link of Buffalo and Arnold Link of Casper; two daughters, Thelma Kind of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Pam Gordon of Rapid City; another stepson, David Cook of Cheyenne; one stepdaughter, Diana Spence of Cheyenne; four brothers, Gerald Taylor of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Pat Taylor of Bridger, Mont., Tom Taylor of California and Gary Taylor of Wheatland; four sisters, Nancy Squim of Washington, Marjorie Valpando of Thermopolis, Evelyn Stephen of Newport, Ore., and Judy Clark of Cascade, Mont.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in care of the Adams Funeral Home.

Eunice `LeOra' Pitsch

Funeral services for Eunice LeOra Pitsch, 90, of Sheridan County will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Heine officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Pitsch died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. She was born Dec. 9, 1915, to Earl and Mae Ferren Mathew in Banner. She married Alex Pitsch on June 2, 1935. Mrs. Pitsch enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, card games, crossword puzzles and traveling. She was the first president, in 1969, of the Wyoming District of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She led devotion services at Sheridan Manor for more than 14 years and was a member of the Piney Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Lawrence Mathew; a grandson; and a great-grandson. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Ogan of Reno, Nev., Nelda Simonson of Buffalo and Doris Schuman of Sheridan; four sons, Peter of Rock Springs, Leland of Fort Smith, Ark., Gerald of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Curtis of Buffalo; a brother, Frank Mathew of Billings; 25 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Wyoming District LWML Scholarship Fund in care of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1300 W. Fifth St., Sheridan, WY 82801.

Evelyn C. Donahue

Graveside services for Evelyn C. Donahue, 99, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Masonic No. 8 Section of Sheridan Municipal cemetery with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Donahue died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. She was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Monarch to Thomas H. and Flora Belle (Wathan) Currie. The family moved to Ranchester when she was 4, and she attended school there until she moved to Brock, Neb. She was a 1925 graduate of Brock High School. She attended Heiman Business College in Sheridan for one year. She married Hershall Donahue on Nov. 23, 1927, in Sheridan. They moved to Casper in 1936, returned to Sheridan in 1938, moved to Thermopolis in 1955 and returned to Sheridan in 1972. Mrs. Donahue worked for Dr. Russell in Sheridan for nine years before moving to Thermopolis. She worked for the Children's Center in Sheridan from 1972-76. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan, a past worthy matron of Friendship Chapter 51, Order of the Eastern Star, and received her 70-year pin in 1997. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed reading, bingo and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1978, and three sisters. Survivors include three sons, Duane of Sheridan, Byron of Cody and Tom of Missoula, Mont.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Shrine Children's Hospital, P.O. Box K, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Jane Dickson

Funeral services for Jane Dickson, 66, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethesda Worship Center with the Rev. Scott Lee and the Rev. Tim Charles officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Viewing will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Dickson died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at her residence. She was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Harrison, Neb., to Lester and Irene (York) Dunn. She grew up and graduated from high school in Harrison. She graduated from Chadron State Teachers College. She taught country schools in Nebraska. She married Chester Dickson on April 4, 1959, in Harrison. They lived in California and Casper before moving to Sheridan in 1968. Mrs. Dickson taught at Holy Name Catholic School. She worked for Marion Day Care Center in the late 1970s, and later operated her own day care center, Kiddie Korral, until 1989. She was a member of Bethesda Worship Center and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, reading the Bible and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, of Sheridan; a daughter, Irene Badgett of Sheridan; two sons, Chester Jr. and Don, both of Gillette; four brothers, Bill and Don Dunn of Harrison and Pat and Lloyd Dunn, both of Mitchell, Neb.; and nine grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Bethesda Worship Center.

Frances Silla

Frances Silla, 87, of Sheridan died Sept. 4, 2006, at Sheridan Manor. Visitation will be 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter James officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Elks cemetery. Lawrence Raymond `Tuff' Gunderman

BUFFALO - Funeral services for Lawrence Raymond Tuff Gunderman, 82, of Buffalo will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Big Horn Baptist Church with the Rev. Edd Spurlock and the Rev. Bob McHenry officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial for the family will be in Willow Grove cemetery. Mr. Gunderman died Sunday morning, Sept. 3, 2006, in the Johnson County Health Care Center. Memorials may be made to the Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice in care of the Adams Funeral Home, 351 N. Adams, Buffalo, WY 82834.

Dorothy Grover

Dorothy Grover, 87, of Sheridan died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are 1 p.m. today at the Ranchester Community Church with the Rev. Richard Christianson officiating. Burial will be in Michigan. Local arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Grover was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Gratiot County, Michigan, to William and Maude Cora (Winters) Pratt. She married Lawrence Grover Sr. on Nov. 18, 1933, in Ithaca, Mich. He preceded her in death. She attended Big Horn Community Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence Jr. and Mike. Survivors include three sons, Darrel of Carson City, Mich., Lance of Michigan and Marshall of Wyoming; two daughters, Sis Hinton of Santa Claus, Ind., and Mary Beth Shattuck of Sheridan; 26 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Eunice `LeOra' Pitsch

Eunice LeOra Pitsch, 90, of Sheridan died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Sheridan Manor. Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Heine and the Rev. Kirk Peters officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Wyoming District LWML in care of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1300 W. Fifth Street.

Lillian L. Hawkey

Longtime Sheridan resident Lillian Lutz Hawkey, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place, and at her request there will be no services. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Born Dec. 5, 1920, in Herman, Minn., to Clarence and Marie (Leis) Lutz, she moved with her family to Ranchester, where she grew up and attended school. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Lutz, and a great-grandson, Brandon Walker Allen. Survivors include two daughters, Terrel Francisco and Dianne Jones-McEldowney; a son, Sandy Seymour; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Doris Carol `DC' Neu

Memorial services for Doris Carol DC Neu, 81, of Dayton will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Gifford officiating. Inurnment will be later in Powell. Mrs. Neu died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Kane to Alvin and Sue Adams. She grew up in Kane and graduated from high school in Lovell and from Billings Business College. She married Harold S. Neu on Nov. 16, 1946, in Powell. She worked for CB&Q Railroad and later for the Dixon Law Firm until 1969, when the family moved to Dayton. Mrs. Neu worked for the U.S. Forest Service until she retired. She enjoyed poetry, flowers, gardening, playing the piano, music of all kinds and family gatherings. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Vickie Martin of Sheridan, Mona Scott of Dayton, Michele Lofgren of Buffalo and Tami Neu of Billings; and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Callie's Fund in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801. Donations will be distributed to local veterinarians to help older citizens of Sheridan and surrounding areas care for their pets.

Kathleen `Kathy' Voogd

Kathleen Kathy Voogd, 62, of Sheridan died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Betty Jean Fink

Funeral liturgy for Betty Jean Fink, 70, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter James as celebrant. Burial will be in Black Hills cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Fink died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Houston to Chester H. and Lois (Dobbs) Hanks. She married William Fink on June 28, 1944, in the VA Chapel in Miles City, Mont. The couple lived in Miles City until 1998, when the hospital closed. They moved to Sheridan. Mrs. Fink was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Hilton of Houston. Memorials may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, 9 S. Connor St., Sheridan, WY 82801.

Virginia V. McClintock

Memorial services for Virginia V. McClintock, 91, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Derryberry officiating. Inurnment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal cemetery under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. McClintock died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born June 25, 1915, in College View, Neb., to Chauncey A. and Minta A. (Gibson) Bird. The family moved to Sheridan in 1917. Mrs. McClintock was a lifetime resident of Sheridan and a graduate of Sheridan High School. She married David S. McClintock on Dec. 14, 1935, in Sheridan. She was a homemaker, a 4-H leader, past worthy matron of Friendship Chapter 51, Order of the Eastern Star, a life member of First United Methodist Church, a member of the Sheridanaires, a charter member of Valley Homemakers Club and a member of Sheridan Woman's Club. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, especially bridge, spending time with her family, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. Survivors include two sons, David B. of Sheridan and William L. of Thornton, Colo.; two daughters, Joyce Waddell of Casper and Kathleen Conley of Concord, Calif.; a brother, Hugh Bird of Sheridan; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 215 W. Works St.; Meals on Wheels, 211 Smith St.; or to a recipient of the donor's choice.

Frank Krezelok, 87, of Banner died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place; memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev.
