Donna H. Collum, 43, of Montevallo died June 5, 2004, in Tuscaloosa County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Collum, and her mother, Mary Roberts Hitt.

She is survived by her daughter, Shonda Hitt of Jemison; her son, Allen Haynes of Nectar; her granddaughter, Samantha Howell; her father, (Vernon (Dorothy) Hitt of Jemison; her sisters, Tracie Thomas of Jemison and Lisa Harrington of Shelby; and her brother, Darriel Hitt of Carbon Hill.

Service was June 9 at Rock Springs Methodist Church in Blountsville with burial following in the adjoining cemetery, the Rev. Harlin Haynes presiding and Lemley Funeral Home directing.

LEONARD LEROY "LEE" COLLUM JR.

Montevallo resident

Leonard Leroy "Lee" Collum Jr., 60, of Montevallo died Saturday, June 5, 2004. He was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Shelby County.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Horton of Wilsonville; six nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nephews.

Service was June 9 at Bolton-Letlow Chapel with burial following in Columbiana City Cemetery, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

PATRICIA JANE GWISDALA

Helena resident

Patricia Jane Gwisdala, 77, of Helena died June 10, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Gwisdala, and her son, Robert A. Gwisdala.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Gwisdala (Tim) Key; her granddaughters, Jennifer, Carrie and Emily Key; and her brother, Francis Bowler.

Service was June 14 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Father Ray Dunmyer presiding. Burial followed at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Ridout's Brown Funeral Home directing.

JAMES "JIMMY" GAYLE HARRELL

Birmingham resident

James "Jimmy" Gayle Harrell, 68, of Birmingham died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Birmingham.

He is survived by two sisters, Zelda Rowe of Calera and Bertha Mae Pickett of Alabaster; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside service was June 16 at Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge, the Rev. Albert Pickett presiding and Rockco's Funeral Home directing. The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

DANIEL E. HARRIS

Helena resident

Daniel E. Harris, 62, of Helena died May 27, 2004. As a child, he lived in South Carolina and attended Bethel Methodist Church. He was a 1964 graduate of The Citadel and a captain in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church in both Jacksonville, Fla., and Miami, Fla., and presently, at the First Baptist Church of Helena. He was employed by Eastman Kodak as a salesman for 27 years until his retirement in 1996. He then founded and was president of K.M. Imaging, was a co-owner of Business Network International of North Alabama including being area director of five local BNI chapters. He was a real estate investor and had been a member of Toastmasters.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Dorothy Baughn Harris; his son, James (Heather) Harris of California; two stepsons, Robert (Mary) Yantiss of North Carolina and John Yantiss; two grandchildren, Amanda and Daniel Harris of Florida; a sister, Paula (Ray) Youngs of Virginia; two nieces; two nephews; and many friends and co-workers.

Local service was June 1 at the First Baptist Church of Helena, Dr. J.D. Davis presiding, Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. Other service was held June 4 at Green Lawn Cemetery in Spartanburg, S.C.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Jimmie Hale Mission in Birmingham or the First Baptist Church of Helena's Building Fund.

NORMA NADENE "DEAN" HOLDERFIELD

Calera resident

Norma Nadene "Dean" Holderfield, 63, of Calera and formerly of Marvel, Ala., died Thursday, June 10, 2004.

She is survived by her sons, James E. Cook Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Daniel Fillmore Cook of Virginia; daughters, Connie (Anthony) Smith of McCalla and Kay (Drew) Nelson of Clay; committed companion, Ronnie Pratscher of Montevallo; grandchildren, Paul Calvin and Lyndsey L. Calvin Sadler, both of McCalla, Micah L. Dailey of Montevallo, Ashley E. Dailey of Jemison, Austin W. Dailey of Montevallo and Tracy and Dee Cook of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, Buddy Martin of West Blocton; and sisters, Ruth Sewell of Gardendale and Elizabeth Holsomback of Marvel.

Service was June 14 at Charter Funeral Home with burial following in Elliottsville Cemetery, Charter directing.

RUTH HOULDITCH

Grandmother of 32

Ruth Houlditch, 93, of Centreville died Friday, June 11, 2004, in Centreville.

She is survived by three sons, Grady (Barbara) Houlditch of Lawrenceville, Ga., Jamie (Dottie) Houlditch of Livingston and Charlie (Frances) Houlditch of Butler; one sister, Lydia Davis of Tuscaloosa; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was June 14 at Montevallo Cemetery, the Rev. Nick Foster presiding and Rockco's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Ken Houlditch, Kevin Houlditch, Doug Houlditch, Artie Houlditch, Mike Houlditch and Johnny Houlditch. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Meigs and staff as well as the staff at the Bibb County Nursing Home.

MINNIE VERA KELLY

Mother of six

Minnie Vera Kelly, 90, of Branchville died June 10, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of the Sanie community and a member of the Sanie Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie J. Kelly; her son, Jerry J. Kelly; two grandsons, Brian and Richard Kelly; one daughter-in-law, Libby (Lynn) Kelly; her parents, George T. and Beula McGuire; her sisters, Elzanna Partridge, Clara Clark and Jewell Stokes; and her brothers, Leonard McGuire, George T. McGuire Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean Steed, Carolyn (Jim) Davis, Irene (Lowell) Rock and Ruth (Jimmy) Nichols; two sons, Lawson Kelly and Ray Kelly; one sister-in-law, Cleo McGuireand one brother, Willie (Shirley) Kelly; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Service was June 12 at Kilgroe Funeral Home Chapel in Leeds with burial in Branchville Cemetery.

WAYNE M. KOLBECK

Musician

Wayne M. Kolbeck, 53, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at the Veteran's Hospital. He was born July 18, 1950, in Passaic, N.J. He was a musician with Wolf Creek Bank and other bands throughout Alabama and Florida.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Kolbeck; and his uncle, James Krasco. A service will be held at a later date, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.

EULA B. LOVELADY

Chelsea resident

Eula B. Lovelady, 84, of Chelsea died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at a Birmingham hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Jefferson County.

She is survived by five children, Barbara (Roland) Griffin, Tommy (Elizabeth) Lovelady, Juanita (Arthur) Olsen, Jackie (Karen) Lovelady and Rita (Tom) Jordan; one brother, Buddy Bailey; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Service was June 16 at Bolton-Letlow Chapel, the Rev. Jimmy Brasher presiding. Burial followed in Moore's Cemetery in Montevallo, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.
