Kenneth Dale Calhoun

Mr. Kenneth Dale Calhoun, 66, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at a local hospital. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Dixonville and had served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ammon, Norman, Corbet Cecil and Fred and sisters, Wilma Jean and Bernell.

He is survived by his son, John Ira Calhoun of Clarksville, Fla.; a daughter, Anna Michell Calhoun of Clarksville; brothers, Norvie Calhoun of Dixonville, Maxwell Calhoun of Milton,Fla. and John Calhoun of Jay Road; sisters, Winnie McCurdy and Betty Calhoun, both of Dixonville and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 20 at the Community of Christ Church in Dixonville with the Rev. Jesse Rheam and Elder John C. Calhoun officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing.

Shirley Ann Barksdale

Mrs. Shirley Ann Barksdale, 57, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa County, Fla. and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Hoomes; her parents, Ellis and Beatrice Hill and her brother, Glen Hill.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Eugene Barksdale of Jay; sons, Daniel Hoomes and Scott Hoomes, both of Jay; daughter, Tina Schaefer of Hayden, Ala.; brothers, Richard Hill and Rayburn Hill, both of Jay and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 23, at 3 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Rheam officiating. Burial followed at Dixonville Community of Christ Cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were William Harrelson, Ken Lewis, Ken Blair, Steve Dunsford, Randy Hill and Buddy Kimmons.

Albert Lee Lambeth

Milton, Fla.

Mr. Albert Lee Lambeth, 63, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004. He was a resident of Milton and a longtime resident of Century, Fla. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Albert Lambeth Jr. and a sister, Myra Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 37 1/2 years, Effie Lee Lambeth of Milton, sons, Donald Greg Lambeth and Clayton Lambeth, both of Milton; daughters, Donna Marie Lambeth and Sandra Lee Holberg, both of Brewton; brothers, Thomas Lambeth of Milton and Robert DeWayne Lambeth of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Helen Virginia Rowe of Cantonment, Fla., Barbara Ruther of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dorothy Rowell of Jay, Fla., Bertha Dee Sharron, Millie Rolin and Debra Ann Hallock, all of Pace, Fla., Debra Jean Brooks of Michigan, Celia Parton of Oklahoma, Margie Watson of Brewton and Pamela

Broder of Andalusia and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gandy officiating. Burial followed at Rock Holiness Cemetery in Flomaton with Jay Funeral Home directing.

Mr. James Louis Dees, Sr.

Mr. James Louis Dees, Sr. died at the age of 83. A resident of Atmore, Al died on August 19, 2004. Funeral services were held at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2004. Place of burial was Repton Cemetery, Repton, AL. Officiating minister was Rev. William Mears. Mr. Dees, a native of Conecuh County, resided In Atmore. He was a former resident of Repton and had owned a hardware, general store there for many years. He was a member of Repton United Methodist Church and attended Excel Assembly of God Church in Excel. Mr. Dees, a master mason, was a member of Repton Masonic Lodge. Mr. Dees was an U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Dees is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Grant Dees.

Survivors are one son Jimmy Dees and wife, Pam of Atmore, AL, a niece, Susan Bell & husband Ernest of Repton, AL, two Grandchildren: Benjamin Wesley Dees & wife Kim and Martha Elizabeth Dees. Visitation for Mr. Dees was from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday. Arrangements were handled by Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.

Sammie Howard

Sammie Howard died at the age of 64 on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Atmore Community Hospital. Robinson / Christian Memorial Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

James Robert Davidson

Mr. James Robert Davidson, 77, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2004 in Molino, FL.

Mr. Davidson was a native of Frisco City, AL and a resident of Molino, FL for the past 52 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman', a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He was a member of the Masons and Scottish Rites and attended the Baptist Church. He was Preceded in death by his Parents, Walter and Edna Davidson, a Daughter, Pat Sager, a Grandson, James E. Davidson, Jr. and his loving Sister, Luverna

Survivors include: his Wife, Mrs. Vera Lee Davidson of Molino; two Sons, James E. (Cathy) Davidson of Panama City, FL and Roosevelt Sager of Atmore; two Brothers, Liston (Betty) Davidson of Molino and Leroy (Dorothy) Davidson of Cantonment three Grandchildren, Larry (Terrie) Sager, Barry (Shelia) Sager and Kevin Davidson and four Great-Grandchildren, Kenneth Sager, Dillion Sager, Danielle Sager and Dalton Sager.

Funeral services will be hold Friday, August 20, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Sanford officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Frisco City.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2004 between 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home

Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Ikner, Kevin Davidson, Larry Sager, Barry Sager, Jeff Nobles and Chris Hammac.

Mr. Calvin J. Martin died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the age of 75 at Gulf Shores. He was formerly from Atmore,

Ronald Gray

Mr. Ronald Gray died Monday, August 23, 2004 at the age of 42. He was a resident of Orlando, FL. He was formerly from Atmore, Al. He died in a hospital in Florida. Funeral arrangements by Turner Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Margie Amerson

Mrs. Margie Amerson, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Amerson was a native of Washington, D.C. and a resident of Bratt, FL for the past 57 years. She was a loving wife, mother and Grandmother, and attended the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Frank and Ethel Himelright, two Sons, Jimmy Hibbitts and Eddie Amerson, Sr. and a Grandson, Lance Dawe. Survivors include her Husband of 58 years Mr. Amerson of Bratt; two Sons, Bobby and Judy Amerson of Bratt and Danny Amerson of Stapleton; her Daughter, Sandra and Jim Wilson of Bratt; two Daughters-in-law, Libby Hibbitts and Brenda Amerson; a Brother, George Himelright of New Jersey; a Sister, Waneeta Libby of Virginia; 13 Grandebildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services was held Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with 'Rev. Doug Odom officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, August 26, 2004 from 9:00 A.M. until funeral time at the Eastside Chapel. Pallbearers will be Pete Amerson, Jr., Pete Ameron, III, Wade Amerson, David Amerson, Ricky Amerson and Andy Amarson. Funeral arrangements by Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Ruby Bell Stanley

Mrs. Ruby Bell Stanley, age 97 of Atmore,A1 died Wednesday August 26,2004 In Atmore. She was a homemaker, born In Moyeville Al on November 08,1 ON to George and Abbie Ross Bell. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Watterson Stanley and a grandson Michael W. Stanley. Survivors are Four Sons: Leonard Stanley & wife, Kathryn, Cecil Stanley & wife, Dovie. Windom Stanley & wife, Opal. Aubrey Stanley & wife Mary Margaret all of Atmore, Al, One Daughter, Gertrude Childress & husband Rhoda of Little rock Al. One Brother, Chester Bell of Bay Town, TX- Two Sisters, Florida Summers of Atmore, Al and Edna Jordan of Saralend, Al. Thirteen Grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and Five Great-Greet-Grandchildren. Services was Saturday August 28,2004 at 10:30AM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Griddle officiating, Interment followed In Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Doris Boggan Holland, age 90 of Atmore, Al died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at her residence. She was a Homemaker, born in Butler County, Al on July 19, 1914 to the late Elward Clyde and Mae Bell Stanford Griffin. She is preceded in death by, Husbands, Ralph Edward Braun, who was killed In WWII, and Earnest Bogging who passed away in 1975. One Daughter, Doris Black. Survivors are Two Sons: Donald E. Branum and wife Betty. Billy Wayne Branum and wife, Judith all of Atmore, Al. Three Daughters: Jewel Hadley and husband, Marion of Atmore, Al. Barbara Gargiulo and husband, Joe of Blairsville, Ga. Ruby Joe Akright of MIlton, Fl. Sixteen Grandchildren, Numerous great-grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren. Services was Friday August 27, 2004 at 11AM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Odom officiating, Interment followed in Robinsonville Baptist Cemetery. Family received friends, Friday August 27,2004 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 10 AM until service time. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, INC In charge of all arrangements.

Mr. John H. Hollinger died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the age of 86. He was a resident of Tuskegee, Al. He was formerly from Atmore, Al. Funeral arrangements by Turner Funeral Chapel.

Grady Barnes, Sr.

Mr. Grady Barnes, Sr., 84, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004 at a Birmingham hospital. Mr. Barnes was a native of Bonifay, FL and a reaident of McDavid for the past 44 years. He attended Little Escambia Baptist Church of Flomaton. He was preceded in death by a son, Jams Robert Barnes, his Parents, E.L. and Martha Barnes, two Brothers and two Sisters. Survivors include: his wife of 60 years Mrs. Edith Barnes of McDavid ; a son Mr. Grady Barnes Jr. and wife Judy of McDavid, Fl , a Daughter, Mrs. Donna Carol and husband Steve Rydowski of McDavid; two Brothers, Benny Barnes of Century and Leon Barnes of Livingston, TX; two Sisters, Catherine Balkom of Perry, FL and Mazree e Hale

of Livingston, TX; seven Grandchildren; eleven Great-Grandchildren; and

a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 29, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Howard officiating.

Burial will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday, August 28, 2004 between 5:00 and 8:00 P.M. at the Eastaide Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be his Grandsons, Jamie Barnes, Grady Leon Barnes. Steven W. Rydzowski, David Barnes, Jeremy Barnes, Josh Barnes and a Nephew Keith Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Adult Man's III Sunday School, Class of Little Escambia Baptist Church.

Woodrow Riley

Mr. Woodrow Riley, died Thursday, August 15, 2004 at the age of 15. He was a resident of Atmore, Al. He died at his home. Funeral arrangements by Turner Funeral Chapel.

"Nan" Taylor Nelson

Mrs. "Nan" Taylor Nelson died Monday, October 4, 2004 at the age of 63 at a local hospital.

She was a native of Gosport, AL and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She attended the Cross Point Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her Parents, Ed and Hattie Taylor and two Brothers, Roy Taylor and Jimmy Ray Taylor.

Survivors include two Sons, Terry Smith and Tim Smith, both of Pensacola; three Daughters, Jackie Stewart and Penny German, both of Atmore and Mary Martinez of Houston, TX; six Brothers, James Taylor, Leon Taylor and Richard Taylor, all of Atmore, Larry Taylor and Terry Taylor, both of Houston, TX and Dwaine Taylor of Fulton, MS; four Sisters, Margaret Colbert of Atmore, Elizabeth Chandler of Daphne, Delia Haire of Jay and Debbie King of Pensacola; 16 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 06, at 2:00 P.M. at the Cross Point Baptist Church with Rev. J.T. Guyton officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Pallbearers will be Henry Haire, Albert Williams, Walter Sunday, Jr., Donald Presley, Allen Presley, Kent Presley, Jim Chandler and Ricky Taylor.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Brantley, Ed Wooten, Mitch White and Allen Wells.

Visitation was held Tuesday, October 5, from 6:30 PM until 9:00PM at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Point Baptist Building Fund.

Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
