Foshee, Hugh Madison
August 24, 1905 - February 15, 1924
Hugh Madison Foshee, Son of Mr. Charley D. Foshee of Billingsley, died in Mich. Sat. Feb. 16, at the home of his brother, Dr. J.C. Foshee, with whom he was living. He was subject to spells. Apparently he suffered a spell while taking a bath and drown in the bath tub. His body was returned for Funeral at New Cedron and burial Clanton City Cemetery.

Mr. J. Wash Foshee died Thursday at home near Mt. Pleasant. He was born in the Mulberry Community in 1843. For 46 years he lived with his Wife, the former Miss Martha Wilson. He was a Confederate Veteran, and a Baptist. His burial was at Clanton City Cemetery.

Burial is in Pleasant Grove Baptist #1 with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Foshee was born Nov. 13, 1911, in Chilton County to the late Major Lewis and Mary D. Waldrop Foshee. She was a homemaker. She died Feb. 10, 1999, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. She is survived by two Sisters-in-Law: Merle Foshee and Frances Foshee, both of Jemison.

Funeral services for Myrtle Headley Foshee, 90, Clanton, will be held at Victory Chapel Church on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Donnie Messer and Rev. Willie Littleton officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Foshee was born on Nov. 23, 1911, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Horace Headley and the late Nancy Hand Headley. She was a nurse. She died on Nov. 20, 2002, at Chilton Medical Center. Survivors include a daughter Betty Jean Jones of Clanton; Sons Charlie Foshee of Clanton, Ray Foshee of Clanton; brother Buddy Headley of Clanton; Sister-in-law Lallage Davis of Clanton; grandson Derrick Minor of Clanton; granddaughters Tammy Edwards of Clanton, Becky Roper of Clanton, Sherry Foshee of Clanton, Benita Slight of LaPorte, Texas; special friends Horace and Juanita Wyatt of Clanton; eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Foshee; sons Joe Foshee and Skeets Foshee; granddaughter Debbie Foshee.

Burial was in Liberty Hill Baptist cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Foshee was born July 5, 1911, in Alabama to the late George W. And Ella Foshee. He worked as a clerk. He died May 2, 1998, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Alabaster. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Foshee of Clanton; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny C. and Mary C. Foshee of Clanton; and two sisters: Nell Powell of Clanton and Estelle Houston of Stanton.

Foshee, William B./L. 'Billy'
1875 - March 07, 1934
W. B. (Uncle Billy) Foshee, 59, genial night policeman of Clanton, died Wednesday Morning at 7 o'clock at his home two miles west of Clanton, following a paralytic stroke. Ill less than two days, the officer suffered a heart attack early Wednesday morning when he attempted to arise form his bed and died a few minutes later. Born and reared in Chilton County, Uncle Billy was prominently know over the county. He was engaged in farming until about two years ago when he became night policeman for the Town of Clanton. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock form the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery with Martin & Sons in charge of the services. Surviving are, his widow, Mrs. Susie Foshee; sons, J. B., Julius and Lloyd; daughters, Mrs. T. J. Littlejohn, Mrs. Dolphus Baker, Mrs. Odelle Headley, Mrs. Flora Bradley, Miss Annie Mae Foshee, all of Clanton, and Mrs. J. B. Parrish, of Thorsby.

Hug Foshee died Wed. age 84, Former Circuit Clerk, after a short illness. He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Mary Foshee, one daughter, Mrs. J. Renfro Mulins. He had 1 Son, Durwood who died in 1907, at age 27. AT one time he lived in Arkansas and while in that State he married Miss Mary Jones. Burial Clanton City Cemetery.

Funeral services for Harry Luther Fox, Sr. 83, of Maplesville, were Jan. 10, 2000, at Mulberry Baptist Church with Rev. David Bishop, Rev. Troy Hughes and Rev. Neil Glausler officiating. Burial was in Mulberry Baptist cemetery in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Fox was born April 6, 1916, in Chilton County to the late Joseph W. Fox and Julie Elizabeth Connaster Fox. He died Jan. 7, 2000, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Mr. Fox was a retired state circulation manager for the Birmingham News. He was a member of the Lions Club for more than 50 years and served as a former district governor. He served as chairman of the Chilton County United Way and was on the board of directors of the Alabama Eye Bank, Eye Foundation Hospital, West Alabama Rehabilitation Center and Chilton County Emergency Assistance Center. He was a deacon of Mulberry Baptist Church and a former member of the Chilton County Board of Education and Isabella Fire Department. He was a graduate of Auburn-Opelika High School. He is survived by his wife Salene Frances Fox of Maplesville; a daughter, Sara F. Adams of Selma; a son, Harry L. Fox, Jr. of Maplesville; a sister, Hazel Bray of Maplesville; a sister-in-law, Ruth Fox of Maplesville; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fox died at his home in Thorsby on May 23. Mr. Fox was born on November 7, 1936 to Mr. and Mrs. George Newton Fox of Thorsby. He is survived by one daughter; Mrs. Denise Reeves of Cropwell, AL; one son, Mr. Barry Fox of Centerpoint, Al; four brothers, Mr. James Fox of Jemison, Mr. George Fox of Marbury and Mr. Jessie Fox of Leeds, Mr. Charles Fox of Calera; two sisters, Annie Lee King of Bessemer, Mrs. Frances Foshee of Jemison and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Asa Willard Franklin, 82, Jemison, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gene Hitchcock officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Franklin was born on Feb. 10, 1919, in Alabama, the son of the late James B. Franklin and the late Lily Waldrop Franklin. He was a flight engineer and served in the military from 1939 until April 30, 1959. He died on Jan. 24, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Survivors include his wife, Sara Franklin, Jemison; two sons, Roger W. Franklin, Marietta Ga., and Roy W. Franklin, Spokane, Wash.; two daughters, Susan E. Hayes, Thorsby and Pricilla Robinson, Clanton; five grandsons, Jeremy D. Hayes, Ben L. Hayes, Zachary Franklin, Brennan Franklin, Cameron Franklin; three granddaughter, Katie Franklin, Meagan Franklin, Lisa Robinson; three brothers, Bobby Franklin and Curtis Franklin, both of Jemison, Dempsey Franklin, Birmingham; two sisters, Vernelle Hayes, Thorsby, and Murl Sumner, Birmingham. He was preceded in death by three brother, Lance Franklin, Hymon Franklin and Junior Franklin. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pleasant Grove No. 1 cemetery Fund or World Ward II Memorial.

Burial will follow in the Pineview Memory Gardens cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Fulford of Selma; four sons Brooks Burnett, Kenny Fulford and Wayne Fulford, all of Selma, and Bobby Burnett of Maplesville; six sisters, Mattie Green of Selma, Dolly Burnett of Maplesville, Dorothy Hubbard of Talladega, Jeanette Giles of Cropwell, Elizabeth McCurdy of Montgomery and Laura Murphee of Birmingham; and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Ben McCurdy, Mike Burnett, Russell McCurdy, Allen Green, Dennis Burnett and Jeff Dennis. The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Fulford was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Ashley Fuqua of Maplesville; and her grandmother, Ella Sue Greene of Centreville.
