Mr. Frank M. Mims, age 70, died Thursday, April 6th at the Central Alabama Hospital, Clanton. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday from Temple Church, conducted by the Rev. A. T. Hickman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Mims; two sons, Jack and Lester, of Clanton; two step-sons, Acie, of Columbiana and Charlie Mims of Montgomery; two daughters, Mrs. Marion Thompson and Mrs. E. B. Mims of Clanton; two step-daughters, Mrs. Annie Pearl Wyatt and Mrs. William Mims of Clanton; and one half-brother, Mr. A. J. Baker, of Clanton; ten grandchildren and 3 great grand children. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Spigener Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Waldrop, Ramond Earl
1927 - March 12, 2004
Raymond Earl Waldrop Services for Raymond Earl Waldrop, 77 of Randolph were held Monday, March 12 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 near Thorsby. Rev. Mark Lovett officiated. Burial followed at the church's cemetery. Waldrop died at Chilton Medical Center on Friday, March 12. He was an automobile restorer. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Nell Waldrop of Jemison; a son, Joe Smitherman of Jones; his daughters Patricia Patterson of Thorsby, Mary Williams of Jemison, Evelyn Hicks of Clanton, Betty Easterling of Clanton and Jane Cox of Clanton; nine grandchildren. He was the son of Huey and Bevie Waldrop.

Funeral services for Calvin C. Walker, 80 of Plantersville, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003 at Alpine Baptist Church with Rev. Morris Horton and Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Alpine Baptist cemetery in Plantersville. Born on Jan. 2, 1923 to Phil Herman Walker and Sudie Quintilla Walker, he died Feb. 17, 2003 at 2671 County Road 101 in Plantersville. Survivors include his wife Geraldine Walker of Plantersville; sons Larry James Walker of Plantersville and Calvin Edward Walker of Plantersville; daughter Patricia Ann Freeland of Mobile; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Walker was born on Monday, February 28, 1921, in Alabama to the late Roscoe Earnest Walker and the late Katie Jewel Carter Walker. he worked as an operating engineer. He died on Tuesday, March 26, 1996 at his home in Clanton. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Diane and Mike Maddox of Clanton and Kay and Jerry Wilks of Arab; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Joan Walker of Lorraine, Ohio; a son, Gary Payne of Clanton; two sisters, Annie P. Johnson of Plantersville and Evelyn Aultman of Marion; three brothers: Wylie Walker and E. A. Walker, both of Selma, and Willie Walker of Plantersville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

McFarland, Cozy Lee (Wallace)

Funeral services for Cozy Lee McFarland, 90 and a resident of Tarrant, Ala., were held on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Carr officiating. Interment followed at Tabernacle Methodist Church cemetery in Lawley. Born on March 10, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Jeff Wallace and the late Ida Wallace. A homemaker, she died on Dec. 29, 2000 at her residence. She is survived by her daughter, Dempsey Huey of Tarrant; a son-in-law, Elbert Lafayette Huey of Tarrant; two granddaughters, Darlene Hodge of Birmingham and Renee Burnett of Trussville; two great-granddaughters, Kelsey Burnett of Trussville and Kara Burnett of Trussville; and two great-grandsons, Corey Hodge of Birmingham and Asutin Hodge of Birmingham.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Smitherman of Clanton and Mrs. Carolyn Hough of Pascagoula, MS; one brother Fondon Wallace of Lawley; two sisters, Mrs. Coay McFarland and Mrs. Flossie Wallace, both of Stanton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Interment will follow at Randolph Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Born on Sept. 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. Wallace and the late Annie Wallace. A homemaker, she died on Nov. 27, 2001 at Vaughn Regional Hospital in Selma. She is survived by four sons, Frank Payne of Maplesville, Johnny Payne of Stanton, Roy Glenn Payne of Maplesville and Bill Payne of Maplesville; two daughters, Sandra Hayes of Stanton and Patricia Frisch of Brainerd, Md.; a sister, Margaret Duke of Pinson; a brother, Tommy Wallace of Birmingham; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Payne, a son Donald Ray Payne, and a grandson Robert Eugene Frisch.

She died on March 19, 2000 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Pate, Calera, and Jackie Nesbit, Maplesville; her mother Vannie Wallace, Maplesville; one sister, Myrtle Daniels, Clanton; three brothers, Aubry Wallace, Jesse Wallace and Roy Wallace, Jr., all of Maplesville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Creek and David Hopper of Clanton; two daughters-in-law: Kathy and Linda Hopper, both of Mt. Creek; a sister, Ruth D. Roper of Birmingham; two brothers: Melton W. Wallace of Birmingham and John C. Wallace of Maplesville; four sisters-in-law: Elouise Wallace of Birmingham, Fay Wallace of Kingston, Tenn., Mildred Wallace of Pine Apple and Isla Lou Wallace of Maplesville; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She died Dec. 14, 1998, at Bibb County Nursing Home in Centreville. She is survived by four daughters; Hazel A. Smitherman of Randolph, Inez Waldrop of Randolph, Kitty Smith of Jemison and Faye Nell Tillery of Randolph; three sons; Harold Riffe of Shelby, Gerald Smitherman of Garnes, N. C. and Charles Smitherman of Maplesville; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for James Hubert Walls, 71, Maplesville, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Aubry Wallace and Rev. Alvin Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Walls was born on Aug. 7, 1928, the son of the late James Bruce and Ellen Elizabeth Walls. He was employed in the aircraft sheet metal industry and served in the Air Force from Jan. 19, 1956, until Dec. 29, 1959. He was a disabled veteran and a member of the Masons, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He died on Feb. 20, 2000, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Barbara N. Walls, Maplesville; one son, James Michael Walls, Maplesville; two daughters, Janet Walls Carter and Connie Walls Wallace, Maplesville; one step-mother, Thelma Walls, Oneonta; two sisters, Pauline Bromley, Oneonta, and Ollie Orr, Albertville; seven grandchildren; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Walls; his mother, Ellen Elizabeth Walls; and one brother, Hoyt Walls.

Walsh, Bonnie Rae

Funeral services for Bonnie Rae Walsh, the infant child of Robert Wayne and Doris Hayes Walsh were Feb. 26, 1999, at Martin Chapel with Rev. William Earl Short officiating. Burial was in Antioch Methodist cemetery in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home directing. The child died Feb. 25, 1999. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters: Brittany Jean Kulas and Katelyn Estelle Kulas, both of Clanton; and her grandmothers: Hazel Graham of Clanton and Mildred Hayes of Plantersville. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Hoover Hayes.
