Osbon Malone
LEESBURG, Ala. - Osbon "Ozzie' Malone, formerly of Rossville, died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 75.

He was a World War II POW who served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the William Coffee Chapter 62 of the Disabled American Veterans and a Combustion Engineering employee for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Malone, Leesburg; daughter, Marcheia Darley, Steinhatchee, Fla.; two sisters, Bobby Malone, Lynchburg, Tenn., and Arbon Malone, Pioneer, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at noon at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb Fickett and the Rev. Donald Plants officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Visitation will be all day today and Wednesday morning before the service at the funeral home.

Opal Raulston
BRIDGEPORT, Ala., - Opal Ovella Raulston died Monday, March 22, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 80.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Taylor, Hollywood, Ala.; and Joyce Wear, Chattanooga; three sons, Ronald Raulston, Stevenson, Ala., Clyde Raulston, Bridgeport, and Con Ray Raulston, Jasper, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. CST at Rudder Funeral Home with minister James Warren officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Minerva Gill
BRIDGEPORT, Ala. - Minerva Frances Gill died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 90.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Bradley Talley, Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. CST at Rudder Funeral Home with Bradley Talley officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Weldon Hicks
FYFFE - Weldon C. Hicks died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, in a Jackson County hospital. He was 73.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby J. Hicks; two daughters, Jo Britton, Stevenson, Ala., and Pat Roden, Pisgah, Ala.; a sister, Rose Bud Rucks, Plant City, Fla.; four stepsons, Paul, Anthony and Gene Lands, all of Sylvania, Ala., and Roger Lands, Boaz, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Shelia Daugette and Sherry Owens, both of Albertville, Ala.; five grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Carthele Owens and the Rev. Jim Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Edward Shepherd
HENAGAR, Ala. - Edward Shepherd died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in a VA hospital. He was 79.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Shepherd, Henagar; five sons, Freeman and John Shepherd, both of the High Point community, Clifford Shepherd, Elbert County, Ga., and Stephen and Mark Shepherd, both of Henagar; three daughters, Vivian Keel and Rebecca Butler, both of Fyffe, and Margaret Manning, of the High Point community; one brother, Robert Shepherd, Monterey Park, Calif.; two sisters, Ethel Shepherd, Upper Marlboro, Md., and Pearl King, Houston, Texas; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Owens and others officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mary Shirley
FYFFE, Ala. - Mary F. Shirley died Monday, March 15, 1999, in an area health care center. She was 83.

Survivors include one daughter, Juliah Fay Hill, Fyffe; one brother, Charles Eber Sizemore, Rainsville, Ala.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with brother Jerry Simmons officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Ruby Hancock
SECTION - Ruby Hancock died Monday, May 10, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 80.

She was a member of Jackson County, Ala., and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Milas Hancock; two daughters, Alinda Arnold, Section, and Sue Pickett, Dutton, Ala.; four sons, Marlon Hancock, Scottsboro, Ala., Larry Hancock, Town Creek, Ala., Dwan and David J. Hancock, both of Section; three sisters, Earline Barclay, Guntersville, Ala., Mary Maurine Ford, Scottsboro, and Mabel Norwood, Section; two brothers, Melvin Lands, St. Augustine, Fla., and R.C. Lands, Hastings, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. J.A. Linville officiating.

Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends all day today at the funeral home.

Charlie Marsee
SECTION, Ala. - Charlie Marsee died Saturday, March 20, 1999 in a hospital there. He was 22.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Marsee; son, Dillon Marsee; daughter, Macy Marsee; father, Charlie Marsee Sr., all of Section; mother, Cindy Marsee, Fyffe, Ala.; one brother, Brian Marsee, Ohio; one half-brother, Shane Furline, Ohio; one sister, Arlene Patterson, Scottsboro, Ala.; and two half-sisters, Annette Furline, Rosalie, Ala., and Kimberly Marsee, Kentucky.

Services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Durell Bryant officiating.

Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery.

Hubert Wooten
HIGDON, Ala. - Hubert Russell Wooten died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at his home. He was 56.

He was a member of the Church of God.

He was a longtime resident of Sand Mountain, Ala., and was a saddle maker.

He was preceded in death by one wife, Jeanette Wooten.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Wooten; two sons, Randal and Randy Wooten, both of Flat Rock, Ala.; five daughters, Annette Ellis and Janet Wilson, both of Flat Rock, Sheila Smith and Katrina Crump, both of Ider, Ala., and Pam Beardon, Higdon, Ala.; three stepdaughters, Belinda Wooten, Flat Rock, Melissa Wallin, Rising Fawn, Ga., and Misty Henry, Higdon; one brother, Lee Wooten, Henagar; five sisters, Geneva Wooten and Diane Doyle, both of Rising Fawn, Sherry Bates, Trenton, Ga., Elsie Keith and Jean Wooten, both of Higdon; and 17 grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Dee Bethune and the Rev. Jamie Holcomb officiating.

Burial will be in Paynes Gap Cemetery.

Visitation will be all day today at the funeral home.

Audean Baugh
RAINSVILLE, Ala. - Audean Mitchell Baugh died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999. She was 89.

Born on Walden's Ridge she moved to Alabama in 1928. In 1948 she and her late husband, Curtis Orville Mitchell, established the Old Straight Creek Church, whose snake-handling practices in the early 1950s received world-wide coverage.

She was also widowed by the Rev. Percy B. Hill.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Baugh, Sylvania, Ala.; three daughters, Ruby Jones, Bobbie Kuykendall, and Eva Wood, all of Rainsville; three sons, Billy Jack and Paul David Mitchell, Rainsville, and Larry Bruce Mitchell, Dalton, Ga.; one brother, Clinton Smith, Soddy-Daisy; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Willmon and the Rev. Gary Haymon officiating.

Burial will be in Kirk Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by Rainsville Funeral Home.
