Foster, Mrs. Yvonne, 64, of Bessemer, died Monday, April 5, 1999. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 8, 10:30 AM, graveside, at Forest Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Larson officiating. She was a member of Concord Highlands Baptist Church, worked 21 years with Dr. W. Courtney Renneker and was retired from Simon-Williamson Clinic. Survivors: husband, Mr. John M. Foster, Bessemer; children, Louise E. Robbins, Owensboro, Ky., and Jeff Foster of Richmond, Va.; grandchild, Emily Nicole Robbins; sister, Elwanda George, Bonifay, Fla.; brothers, Denise Brock of Bonifay, Fla., and Larry Brock of Lorida, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Concord Highlands Building Fund, Concord, Alabama. Brown Service West Chapel directing.

Odom, Emma Shuman, age 70, of Bessemer, died April 3, 1999. She was retired from Billy's Hardware and Quickstop. She was a member of Midweek Bowling League at Holiday Bowl. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6, 1999 from 6 to 8 p.m. She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Seale, Loretta Anderson, Deborah Renta, and Bonnie McNeil; sisters, Loretta Garrett, and Louise Conner; brothers, Dale Shuman, Denver Shuman, and Ralph Shuman; six grandchildren, Rod, Michelle, Crystal, Wendy, Tony and T.J.; and six great-grandchildren. Brown Service Bessemer directed.

McDaniel, Mrs. Myrtle Brown, age 79, of Pleasant Grove, died Monday, April 5, 1999. She was a member of North Highlands Seventh Day Adventist Church, and was loved by all. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 7, at Noon at Brown Service West Chapel with burial in Forest Hills Cemetery. Pastor Randy Mills and Pastor Warren Ruff officiating. She was preceded in death by grandson, Eddie Mills. Survivors: daughters, Nancy Mills of Pleasant Grove and Joan Andrews of Forestdale; grandchildren, Cynthia Kendrick of Smokerise, Lisa Henson of Hoover, and Randy Mills of Douglasville, Ga.; five great-grandchildren. Brown Service West Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Junkins, Nellie Mae, was born December 20, 1905 and died April 5, 1999. At the time of her birth, she weighed two pounds. The grace of the Lord and determination to live proved for her that God's grace was truly sufficient. Preceding her in death are her husband of 70 years, Connor Junkins; two sons, Cecil Junkins and William (Bill) Junkins; one daughter, Betty Lee Junkins; parents, Judson and Emily Lowery; four brothers, Son, Aaron, Willie, and Johnny Lowery; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren. Survivors are: daughters, Ada Adams of McCalla, Edner Smith and husband Jewel, of Shelby Springs; sons, Edward "Bo" Junkins and wife, Nora, of McCalla, Frank Junkins and wife, Patti, of Woodstock; sister-in-law, Pauline Lowery; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Green Pond Baptist Church and Ladies Beulah Class. Homegoing service will be at Greenpond Baptist Church at 2:00 Wednesday, April 7, 1999, with Rev. Carl Hall and Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial in Thrasher Cemetery in Woodstock. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Payton, Willie Edward, age 71, of Leeds, died April 5, 1999. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Leeds First Congregational Holiness Church with burial at Dunnavant Community Cemetery. Kilgore Funeral Home of Leeds directing.

Garrigan, Mr. William T. "Tom" III, age 49, of Birmingham, AL, died April 5, 1999. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church of Moody. Funeral service Thursday, April 8, 1999 at 11:00 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Burial in Southern Heritage Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Garrigan left behind a loving family, including: his wife, Diane D. Garrigan; one son, Wil Garrigan of Birmingham; two daughters, Chey L. Garrigan and L. McCain Garrigan, both of Birmingham; mother, Mrs. Betty T. Garrigan of Birmingham. Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Nelson, Thomas (TOM) R., age 61, of Adger, died April 5, 1999. He was a High Tech Insulation. He was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at Brown Service Bessemer Chapel with burial in Adger Cemetery. Rev. David Sims officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Survivors: wife, Nancy McGee Nelson of Adger; daughter, Kelly Sue Nelson of Texas; son, Chris Edward Nelson of Texas; sisters, Ruby Nelson and Martha Capps of Adger; brother, Edward F. Nelson of Warrior; several nieces and nephews. Brown Service Bessemer Funeral Home directing.

Fortner, Roy Edward (ED), age 86, of Vestavia and formerly of Fairfield, passed away on April 5, 1999. Mr. Fortner was a lifelong member of the Wylam Baptist Church. He has been Treasurer of the church for the last 30 years, and an ordained Deacon for 61 years. He was Chairman of the Medical Clinic Board of the Lloyd Noland Foundation and Past Chairman of the Zoning and Planning Commission for the City of Fairfield. He also was a member of The Club, a Mason, a Shriner, and Civitan. He attended the University of Alabama and Dartmouth College. Mr. Fortner retired from U.S. Steel after 40 years of service as Regional Credit Manager of the Treasury Department South. Following his retirement from U.S. Steel, he worked for the Jefferson County Health Department from 1968 until 1982 as Financial Advisor. He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Myrna Andrews Fortner; children, James E. and Mary Sue Fortner, Lois F. an d William C. Taylor; grandchildren, Susan C. Fortner, Joseph R. and Cynthia Fortner, John W. Fortner, Michael E. and Tammy Taylor; and great-grandson, William Michael Taylor. Services will be held at Angwin Mortuary Center - Birmingham Chapel on Thursday, April 8, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Jerry Curry will be officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 7, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Angwin Mortuary Center directing. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.

Micklow, Mrs. Nellie G., age 96, of Mulga, died April 6, 1999. She was a Charter Member of Birmingport Baptist Church. Graveside service will be Thursday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. James Files officiating. Family to receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Stott (Macon), Mrs. Virginia M. Monroe (Joe), and Ms. Priscilla A. Micklow; son, Mr. Paul G. Micklow (Shirley); nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Andrew E. Micklow; sons, Andrew W. Micklow, Melvin E. Moore, Delma (FRANKLIN), age 91, of Fultondale, AL died Monday, April 4, 1999 at a local hospital. She was a member of Grace Independent Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 8 at 12 noon, the Rev. Wayne Thrasher officiating at Gardendale Chapel. Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery in Sayre, AL. Visitation will be held at Gardendale Chapel on Wednesday, April 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. She is survived by two daughters, Betty (Sonny) Sorenson of Fultondale, and Peggy Locke of Fultondale; three sons, Sammy (Effie) Franklin of Hayden, Ronald Franklin of Hayden, and Eldridge Franklin of Long Beach, CA; two sisters, Effie Smith of McCalla, and Lucille Horsley of St. Clair County; one brother, George Denard of Irondale, AL; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Oakwood Memorial Gardendale Chapel directing.

King, Robbin L., age 43, of Birmingham, AL, died April 5, 1999. She was a member of Center Point Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral service Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at 12:00 noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home - Trussville. Glenn Hood officiating. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Visitation Tuesday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Survivors: husband, Buddy King; children, Jason King, Jami King, Jarod King, and Joy King; father, Wilburn Langston; brother, Randy Langston. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Langston. Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville directing.

Revis, Mrs. Flossie, age 87, of McCalla, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999. She was a longtime member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce "B.B" Revis. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Boyce (Anita) Revis of McCalla and Erwin D. (Marilyn) Revis of Huey town; two granddaughters; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Billie Hutson of Pell City; two brothers, Frank Smith of Bessemer and J. C. Smith of Hoover; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 8, 1999 at Flint Hill Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, at Bessemer Brown Service, 5-8 PM. Mrs. Revis will lie in-state from 2-3 PM at the church on the day of the service. Following a formal procession, committal services will be conducted at Highland Memorial Gardens. Bessemer Brown Service directing.

Wright, Alice B., age 72, of Birmingham, AL, died April 5, 1999. She was a member of Boyles Baptist Church. She was a resident of IHS at Briarcliff in Alabaster, AL, where she remained a loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Her husband, Thomas S. Wright of Birmingham, AL, preceded Mrs. Wright in death. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Brown Livingston and brother-in-law, Cecil H. Livingston, of Anniston, AL; a brother, Robert Wade Brown, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Linda McClure Marshall and son-in-law, Paul Frankie Marshall of Alabaster; daughters, Dianne McClure Anderson and son-in-law, James W. Anderson of Oxford, AL; granddaughter, Brittany Diane Marshall of Alabaster; step granddaughter, Amanda Anderson Kughn and her husband, Jonathan T. Kughn of Anniston; step great-granddaughter, Taylor Bailey Kughn; and a loving and devoted friend, Frances Kennamer of Vestavia, AL. The family will receive friends at Jefferson Memorial East Funeral Home in Trussville, on Tuesday, April 6, from 5pm to 8pm. Chapel services will be held at Jefferson Memorial East at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7. The family is appreciative of thoughts and prayers.
