Graveside funeral service and burial will be held Friday, December 3, 1999 at 1 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL, with the Rev. Harry Sims officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christmas Mission Offering at the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, 300 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL. Arrangements made by Fairhope Funeral Home, 19698 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL.

Still, Ruby Lee, age 85, of Hayden, AL died Monday November 29, 1999. Visitation will be at Messmer-Goodwin on Thursday, December 2, 1999 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be at Hayden Methodist Church on Friday, December 3, 1999 beginning at 11 a.m., the Rev. Allen Smith officiating. Burial will be at Nectar Cemetery in Nectar. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Martha Anne) Still of Hayden, AL, and Jim (Lisa) Still of Oneonta, AL; grandson, J. P. Still; granddaughters, Cari Still and Niki LeHew; grandson, Andrew Still, and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Emily Still; also Sibby Still. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Still, and grandson, Sean Still. Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home directing.

Woods, Frances Eloise, age 59 of Pell City, AL, died November 30, 1999. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kilgroe Funeral Home Pell City directing.

Sails, Mrs. Marie Tie, age 80, of Thorsby, made her transition on Saturday, June 12, 1999. She was a lifelong resident of Chilton County, retired from the First Alabama Bank of Chilton County. Member of the Union Baptist Church of Thorsby where she served as Superintendent of the Sunday School and Treasurer of the Missionary Society. Service of Memory will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the church, with interment in the Holly Grove Cemetery, Jemison. Her loving survivors are: her devoted children, David A. (Elizabeth) Sails, Lonnie (Shirley) Sails, Betty Jean Bizzell, Thomas Jones, and a sister, Johnnie Mae Sawyer; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The remains will repose on Thursday from Noon until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home of Calera directing.

Fluker, Mr. Nathaniel, age 62 of Demopolis, Alabama, passed November 27, 1999 at Briarcliff Nursing Home, Alabaster, Alabama. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, 1999 at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church, Jefferson Road, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Willis Hurns, officiant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.

Watson, Mrs. Beatrice, age 78, of Warrior, Alabama, died June 16, 1999 at her residence. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Warrior and a member of the choir. Funeral service at First Baptist Church of Warrior will be Saturday, June 19, at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Columbus F. Christian, officiating. Burial: Warrior Cemetery. Survivors: son, Frederick L. (Mary) Ford of Warrior; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Jarman of Birmingham and Mrs. Nezarine Player of Warrior; five grandchildren. Scott-McPher son, "Golden Rule Service With Dignity", is directing.

Foster, Mr. Timothy William - He was born in Matthew Station (Bullock County) and attended the Bullock County Public Schools. Later, he chose to serve his country for more than 22 years in the U S Air Force. After receiving an Honorable Dis charge, he was certified as a chef from Lawson State College and was Director of Food service at Miles College. Mr. Foster was Treasurer and Steward at Payne Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church for many years. Recently, he united with Mt. Carmel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, near his home in Adamsville. Memories of life will be cherished by his devoted wife, Laura Garth Foster; children, William Van Buren, John Henry, David L. and Samuel Foster and Lillian Rawls; siblings, Sadie L. Jackson and Robert Foster. Funeral is 1:30 Saturday at Mt. Carmel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 104 Allen Street, Adamsville. Pastor Richard A. McKay, Officiant. Inhumation will follow at Elmwood. Calling Hours at Johnson Memorial, Bessemer, Friday Noon until 9:00.

Tharp, Gregory Howard, age 36, of Birmingham died on Tuesday, December 14, 1999. He was born on October 9, 1963 in Montgomery, Alabama to Sandra Faye Sasser and Roy Howard Tharp, who both predeceased him. He grew up in Ozark, Alabama where he was a 1982 graduate of Carroll High School. Greg then attended the University of Montevallo and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1989. He began his career as a graphic artist in Montgomery and moved to Birmingham in 1992 to make his home here. He was founder and owner of Distinctive Graphics where he was tirelessly creative and enjoyed the friendship of his many clients. Greg enjoyed life to the fullest and gave of his time and talents to his community. He played softball with the New South Softball League for several years. He loved the festive season of Mardi Gras and was most proud of his membership in the Mystic Krewe of Apollo, Birmingham, where he reigned as King Apollo XXI in 1997. He was a loving brother, devoted uncle and cherished friend. He is survived by his sister, Dedra Lockard; his nephew, Tyler Lockard and his niece, Lynsey Lockard, of Birmingham; his brothers, John and Jeff Tharp, of Columbus, GA; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Dickey Baker. Family and friends will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 15 from 6pm to 8pm at Johns - Ridout's (Southside Chapel) at 2116 University Boulevard. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Chapel, the Rev. Malcolm Marler officiating. Active Pallbearers: Dewayne Brewer of Atlanta; Greg Salter and Kurt Overton of New Orleans; Don Patrick Peterson, Tony Tabor, Robert Noah, Brian Vaughn, Bruce Beaird, Mitch Harrison and Mark Roberts of Birmingham. James, Ralph Mcginnis (BAY-BAY), age 52, of Birmingham, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, at Noon at Friendship Baptist Church, Brighton with burial in Carver Memorial Gardens. Survivors: his wife, Bettye Jam es; five children, LaTonya (Rodney) May, Versherra James, Rashion D. Bowen, Mr. Charles L. (CHARLIE), age 64, of Falkville, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at his residence. Construction Supervisor at Russell Construction Co. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 16, at 2:00 p.m., at Cullman Heritage Chapel with burial in Union Hill Cemetery. Rev. David L. Buckelew, officiating. Arnwine, Margery Florine, age 75, of Pelham, died June 16, 1999. She was born on May 9, 1924 in Decatur. She was a homemaker; member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. Graveside service will be Friday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, Decatur. Rev. Ray Shubert officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 18, from Noon until 1:30 p.m. before graveside. Gann, Mrs. Exie Bostick, age 94, of Winfield, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Mrs. Gann was born on February 2, 1905 in Marion Co. a daughter of Richard Burk Bostick and Lou Ellen Newman Bostick, lifelong resident of Winfield and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband of over 75 years, Will Gann, Winfield; daughter, Mrs. Prebble Gann Bell, Winfield; grandson, Sam (Denise) Bell, Tuscaloosa; granddaughter, Melanie (Steven) Norris, Winfield; great-granddaughter, Hollie Bell; great-grandson, Caleb Norris; sister, Miss Mildred Bostick, Winfield.
