Nettie McDuffie Howell, a homemaker, died Aug. 31 at an area hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. McDuffie was a longtime resident of Mobile and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Adele Waltman of Semmes and Genervia Harris of Zachary, La.; and one brother, John McDuffie of Zachary.
Visitation will be held Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Cottage Hill Road from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral. Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery in Semmes.

Barbara Jordan Morton
Thursday, September 08, 2005
Barbara Jordan Morton, a founding member of Parkway Congregational Methodist Church, died Sunday at an area hospital. She was 93.
Mrs. Morton was a native of Salitpa, Ala., and a resident of Eight Mile.
She had served as organist for her church for more than 50 years. She had also taught Sunday school and served as church historian.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Durham of Mobile; two sons, Dennis F. Morton of Eight Mile and Marion G. "Bubba" Morton of Mobile; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for today from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral at Parkway Congregational Methodist Church. Burial will be in Whistler Cemetery. Radney Funeral Home on Industrial Parkway in Saraland is in charge of arrangements.

David Patrick

David Patrick, a former heavy equipment operator for U.S. Steel Co., died Sept. 1 at a family home. He was 75.
Patrick, a native of Daphne, was a resident of Mobile. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Spanish Fort.
Survivors include his wife, Dollie Ruth Patrick of Mobile; one son, Cory Patrick of Birmingham; one stepson, Leslie Woodrow of Mobile; the nephew and niece whom he reared, Joseph Gilespy of Mobile and Debra Cottrell of Loxley; one adopted daughter, Nichole Thomas; and his mother, Aree Patrick, both of Mobile; five brothers, Johnny Lee Patrick, Henry Patrick, Robert James Patrick, Freddy Patrick and Robert Cecil Patrick, all of Spanish Fort; four sisters, Aree Caviness of Mobile, Doretha Bradley of Daphne, Almetia Bradford of Detroit and Claretha Enlers of Spanish Fort; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for 3 to 5 p.m Friday at Azalea Funeral Home on State Street. Visitation will also take place Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at St. John Baptist Church in Spanish Fort. Burial will be in Mount Aid Cemetery in Spanish Fort, with Azalea Bay Area Funeral Service directing.

Dorothy I. Smith

Dorothy Smith, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Friday at an area hospital. She was 79.
Smith was a retired teacher with the Mobile County Public School System.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Heard of Prichard; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be held today at Emanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church on Stone Street from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral. Burial will follow in Rising Sons Cemetery.
Reese Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Julene Phillips Williams

Julene Phillips Williams, a resident of Mobile, died Tuesday at the age of 84.
Mrs. Williams was a native of Lancaster, S.C., and formerly lived in Pensacola.
Prior to retiring to Mobile, she had been a Realtor and a businesswoman.
Survivors include one daughter, Lilian Owen of Mobile; one son, John M. Williams of Coral Gables, Fla.; one brother, Thomas A. Phillips of Lancaster; and one sister, Helen C. Blackmon of Pensacola.
Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service. Burial will take place in Pine Crest Cemetery.

Oris Louie Armistead
Thursday, September 08, 2005
Oris Louie Armistead, a timber marker, died Tuesday in Morvin, Ala. He was 66.
Armistead was a native and resident of Thomasville, where he was a member of Elam Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shelvy Jean Armistead; and two sons, Gene Marie Armistead and Henry Armistead, all of Thomasville; two daughters, Lisa Long and Gloria Byrd, both of Bay Minette; two brothers, Charles Armistead of Melvin, Ala., and William Armistead of Little River, Ala., two sisters, Margaret Godwin of Robertsdale and Mary Skelton of Chunchula; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for today from 6 to 8 p.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Elam Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Roy Pugh Tucker
Thursday, September 08, 2005
Roy Pugh Tucker, who served as a U.S. Navy pilot during World War II, died Wednesday in Jackson. He was 88.
Tucker, a native of Grove Hill, had been a resident of Jackson since 1948.
While in the Navy, he attained the rank of lieutenant and received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in the Pacific theater of operations, according to relatives.
He was a charter member of the West Pearl Street Gang, according to relatives.
Survivors include two sons, Roy D. Tucker of Mobile and John M. Tucker of Boerne, Texas; one sister, Ethel Raffield of Grove Hill; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Visitation Catholic Church in Jackson. Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Visitation Catholic Church of Jackson.

Helen Frances Henry
Thursday, September 08, 2005
Helen Frances Henry, a native of Nebraska and a resident of Evergreen, died Tuesday at an area medical center. She was 81.
Henry was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Hess of Evergreen and Debbie Woodruff of Ogden, Utah; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for Friday from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service at First United Methodist Church in Evergreen. Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church for Hurricane Katrina relief.
