RUBY NELL WILLIAMS

MUNFORD — Funeral service for Ruby Nell Williams, 54, of 640 Grant Town Road, will be Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Jenifer Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died June 18 at her residence. She was a former member of Sweet Home Baptist Church and attended Shady Grove Baptist Church. She attended Ophelia S. Hill High School and was formerly employed by Leslie Corporation, Wal-Mart and Ross Breeders.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Williams of Haverstrow, N.Y., Wanda Williams of Sloatsburg, N.Y., and Nicole Williams of Munford; her mother, Sarah Williams Patterson of Anniston; sisters, Willie Mae Ball of Anniston, Sarah Francis Hardy of Glass Mountain, Calif., and Mary Ellen Curry, Vanessa Russell and Eloise Jenkins of Munford; brothers, Sylvester Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., James Patterson of Anniston, Charles Patterson of Talladega, Ronnie Patterson of Anniston, Barry Patterson of Munford, Stanley Patterson of Freehold, N.J., and Swinford Patterson of Munford; six grandchildren; and her fiance', Dave Sistrunk of Munford.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

ALTON EUGENE BATES

GOODWATER — Funeral service for Alton Eugene Bates, 81, will be Tuesday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home chapel in Alexander City with the Rev. Charles Stone officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery.

Mr. Bates died June 20 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on May 1, 1923, in Columbus, Ga. He worked for Sterling Lumber Company for many years and was a staunch member of the Presbyterian Church at Hatchett Creek. He also maintained the cemetery at Hatchett Creek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Bates.

He is survived by stepdaughter, Lois Morgan of Alexander City; grandchildren, Gristle Morgan and Roger Morgan of Alexander City, James W. Morgan of Goodwater, Bill Morgan of Sylacauga, Donnie Morgan of Clay County, Stephen Morgan of Randolph County, Joseph Morgan of Cairo, Ga., and Cecelia Walters of Montgomery; 27 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

JAMES TOBE BISHOP

LINEVILLE — Funeral service for James Tobe Bishop, 86, of 70 Holland St., will be Wednesday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Lineville with the Rev. Charles Woods officiating. Burial will be in Lineville Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop died June 17 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He was retired but was formerly employed by the Pruitt Saw Mill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Pearl Bishop; four sisters, Yunnie Gasden, Minnie Berry, Sophie Bishop and Rose Bishop; three sister-in-laws, Jewell Bishop, Annie Mae Bishop and Bessie Bishop; and four brothers, Benny Bishop, Steve Bishop, Lorenzo Bishop and Lester Bishop.

He is survived by daughters, Dorothy Bishop of Lineville and Carrie Wilson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sons, Shelly Frank Bishop, James Lewis Bishop and Gerald Bishop of Lineville and Willie Edd Bishop of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 32 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Willie Bishop of Lineville; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Friends of the family will serve as flowerbearers.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home from 2 until 6 p.m. Tuesday and at the church for one hour before the service.

Childersburg Mortuary Service will direct the service.

MAMIE FRENCH CREED

ASHLAND — Funeral service for Mamie French Creed, 80, will be Tuesday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Clay County Funeral Home chapel with Olin Warmack and Bryan Camp officiating. Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Creed died June 19 at Clay County Hospital. She was a native of Decatur where she graduated from Hazlewood High School in 1942. She married Mack Merrell Creed in Columbus, Miss., in 1944. They moved to Ashland in 1946. She was retired from Higgins Manufacturing Company where she was employed for 25 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Home Extension Club, the Clay County Historical Society and was a Clay County Hospital Hospice volunteer. She was a member of Ashland Church of Christ, where she was one of three of the oldest members. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Mack Merrell Creed; and two sisters, Earlene Rigsby and Sue Morris.

She is survived by daughter, Judy Brooks of Ashland; sister, Mary Etheridge of Russellville, Ark.; brothers, Wendell French of Hillsboro, Norman French of Abilene, Texas and Marvin French of Dallas, Texas; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donald Harris, Dwight Harris, Glen Harris, Michael Creed, Aaron Creed and George Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dayton Harris, Burt Chamberlin and Leonard Danner.

Clay County Funeral Home will direct the service.

ANNISTON — Catherine Davis, 77, died June 20.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

ROY GENE FINCH

MUNFORD — Funeral service for Roy Gene Finch, 68, will be Tuesday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Stockdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Martin Murray and the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Finch died June 19 at Citizens BMC in Talladega. He was a native of Clay County and had lived most of his life in Talladega. He was retired from the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant and was retired from the Talladega City Housing Authority with 21 years of service. He was a member of Stockdale Baptist Church and was an avid outdoorsman. He was also a former employee of Talladega Funeral Home as an assistant funeral director.

He is survived by his wife, Linda A. Finch of Munford; daughter, Tanya Watts of Oxford; son, Michael Finch of Oxford; his mother, Edna Gurley Bridges of Talladega; sisters, Mary Horn and Kim Kelley of Talladega; brothers, Jerry Bridges and Wayne Bridges of Talladega and Danny Bridges of Canada; and four grandchildren.

The United States Army Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

NELLIE GREEN

TALLADEGA — Nellie Green, 79, of 516 Bingham St., died June 21 at Citizens BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

RUBY RACHEL HALL

MUNFORD — Funeral service for Ruby Rachel Hall, 85, will be Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Tim Faccucci officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Mrs. Hall died June 19 at her residence. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was a native of Talladega County. She lived in Pensacola, Fla., for 29 years and returned to Talladega in 1976. She served as secretary-treasurer at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Munford for a number of years and was a member of the United Womens Methodist Group and was a choir member. She was a loving mother and wife and was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Hall.

She is survived by her husband, William W. Hall of Munford; daughters, Rachel M. Colley and husband Dan Colley of Pensacola, Fla., and Sally Z. Nickle and husband Nick Nickle of Beaufort, S.C.; granddaughter, Lara Nickle of Beaufort, S.C.; and sister, Beatrice Grogan of Munford.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Bob Sanders, Chris Eisel, Bill Wright, Jack Adams, Larry Gilmore and Paul Seals.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Colley, Nick Nickle, Ted Mann, Alton Cowan and Tommy Fowler.

Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

MARY INEZ JENKINS

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Mary Inez Jenkins, 80, will be Tuesday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Walker and the Rev. Ottis Graves officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Jenkins died June 19 at her daughter's residence. She was a native of Talladega and a member of West End Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jenkins; one daughter, Doris Jean Jenkins; one sister, Irene Smith; and one brother, Braxton Shepard.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Jenkins of Birmingham, Joyce Walker of Talladega and Brenda Irvin of Ragland; son, the Rev. William Jenkins of Sylacauga; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight nieces; and two nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Jenkins, Chet McClellen, Curtis Bivins, Hutch Hutchenson, Greg Walker and Jack Shirley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Humphry and John Hicks.

Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

WILLIAM POWELL REEVES

ASHLAND — Funeral service for William Powell Reeves, 73, will be Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home chapel in Ashland with Brother Olin Warmack officiating. Burial will be in Ashland City Cemetery.

Mr. Reeves died June 19 at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a native of Talladega County and was a former resident of Berwyn, Ill. He retired as a fitter with Electric Matize Division of General Motors and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Reeves of Ashland; daughters, Brenda Ateyeh of Holly Springs, N.C., and Janet Reeves of Ashland; son, James P. Reeves of Joliet, Ill.; sister, Geneva Loyed of Berwyn, Ill.; brothers, Marion E. (Buddy) Reeves of Burkley Springs, West Va., and Nolen E. (Gene) Reeves of Talladega; six grandsons; and one great grandson.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday.

Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland will direct the service.

NELLIE SEAL ROBINSON SEAY

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Nellie Seal Robinson Seay, 81, was Saturday, June 19, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Pell City with the Rev. Ronnie Beavers officiating. Burial was in Rocky Zion Cemetery in Pell City.

Mrs. Seay died June 14 at her residence. She was born Dec. 24, 1922 in St. Clair County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hillie and Blanch Chandler Robinson.

She is survived by daughters, Blanche Walker of Atlanta, Ga., and Danice Seay of Childersburg; sister, Christine R. Simpson of Lanett; brother, Lee Robinson of Pell City; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Armour's Memorial Funeral Home directed the service.
