Adcock

WOODLAND — Services for Durward Murillo Adcock, 77, of Woodland, formerly of Roanoke, will be 2 p.m. today at Rock Stand Christian Church with Rev. Kenneth Johnson and Rev. Harold Bonner officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home of Roanoke in charge. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Adcock died Friday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Seegar Adcock of Roanoke; a daughter, Carol Smith of Montgomery; two sons, Jerry Adcock of Decatur and Johnny Adcock of Woodland; a sister, Ora Treadwell of Roanoke; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Adcock, Johnny Sanders, Charles Windsor, Charles Treadwell, Wayne Adcock, Jimmy Adcock, Howell Seegar and Bill Caypless.

Mr. Adcock was a self-employed grocer. He was a member of Rock Stand Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom L. and Lura Clark Adcock.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Faith Hospice, 410 Hilleby St., Alexander City, AL, 35010 or to a church of the donor’s choice.

Albright

Services for James Willard Albright, 85, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Monday at Smyrna Baptist Church in Newell with Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel of Anniston in charge. The family will receive friends today from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be at the church an hour before the service.

Mr. Albright died Friday in Anniston.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Deane Albright of Anniston; three daughters and their husbands, Janie A. and Larry Morrow of Anniston, Ann A. and Lamar Hollingsworth of Nashville, Tenn., and Laura A. and Bob Phillips of Anniston; a brother and his wife, Jerry F. and Patricia Albright of Newell; and three grandchildren, Melissa T. Johnson of Birmingham, Sarah Hollingsworth of Fairfax, Va., and Shelley Ann Phillips of Anniston.

Pallbearers are Thomas Johnson, Brian Hardin, Bill Carpenter, Joe Vitoe, Rudy Paul Yates, Hollis Hall, Jerry Hays, Larry Morrow, Lamar Hollingsworth and Robert "Bob" Phillips.

Mr. Albright was a Randolph County native and had lived in Calhoun County 55 years. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in both the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters, the European Campaign and the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He retired from the Anniston Ordnance Depot with 30 years of service. After retiring he researched and documented the genealogical history of his family and of several families and churches in Randolph County, and a history of the county itself.

He volunteered at Stringfellow Hospital for six years and delivered Meals on Wheels. He was an award-winning left-handed golfer and an avid supporter of the March of Dimes and other charities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oscar and Janney Stillwell Albright; a sister, Dorothy McManus and a brother, Dan Albright.

Bachus

DELTA — Services for Lois Mary Bachus, 86, of Delta will be 2 p.m. Monday at Open Door Baptist Church. The family will receive friends today from 4-7 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin and Monday from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the home of her daughter, Sara Hill, 1939 Highway 9, Delta. Complete arrangements will be announced by Dryden Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bachus died Saturday at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation.

Bramblett

PIEDMONT — Services for Horace Olian Bramblett Sr., 72, of Piedmont will be 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Machen officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Bramblett died Friday at Jacksonville Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Bramblett of Piedmont; two sons, Horace Olian Bramblett Jr. and Frankie Bramblett, both of Piedmont; a brother-in-law, Keith Martin and his wife, Connie, of Piedmont; and his caregivers, Bea Clark, Evelyn Millsaps, Elsie Fagan and Jo and Noble Terry.

Pallbearers will be Rick Freeman, Hugh McWhorter, John Wilson, Victor Bates, Brian Pike and Kevin Fagan. Honorary pallbearers will be the breakfast group at Jack’s Restaurant.

Mr. Bramblett was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was a former employee of SCT Yarn, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a longtime member of the Piedmont Athletic Booster Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Cora Bramblett and a brother, Edward Bramblett.

Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272, or to Piedmont High School Football, Piedmont High School, 750 Alabama Highway 200, Piedmont, AL 36272.

Clark

OXFORD — Services for Merrill Douglas Clark, 95, of Oxford will be announced by Miller Funeral Home.

Mr. Clark died Saturday at National Health Care.

Dennard

TALLADEGA — Services for Lillie Ann Dennard, 60, of Talladega will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny F. McKinney and pastor Pamela Calhoun officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour before the service.

Mrs. Dennard died Tuesday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include her daughter, Regina Franklin of Mobile; two brothers, Robert Hunley of Columbus, Ohio and Elijah Houston of Gadsden; and two grandchildren, Keristen Franklin and Brianna Garrett.

Pallbearers will be Willie Cochran, Earl Davis, Melvin Cochran, Aaron Pointer, Arthur Cochran Jr., Larry Pointer and Butch Fleming.

Mrs. Dennard was employed with the Community Action Agency for 36 years, serving as the executive secretary and assistant to the executive director. She was a member of the Shekinah Glory Power and Praise Deliverance Ministries, where she served as an assistant to the minister and was a Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Houston and Hazel Mae Cochran; and a brother, Willie Woods.

Fowler

LINEVILLE — Services for Katie Davis Fowler, 79, of Lineville will be 11 a.m. Monday at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Ben Rosser officiating. Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today and until service time Monday.

Mrs. Fowler died Saturday at the Clay County Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Jan and Terry Robbins of Lineville; a son and his wife, Donny and Alice Fowler of Lineville; four grandchildren, Haley Zellner of Lineville, Lauren Robbins of Charleston, S.C., Natalie Dunnagan of Ashland and Brett Robbins of Birmingham; and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Zellner, Bruce Dunnagan, Randy Davis, Brett Robbins, Wayne Prestridge and Robbie Lett.

Mrs. Fowler was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. She had worked at Higgins Manufacturing and Gay Manufacturing, and retired from Southland Manufacturing. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Rescue Squad.

McClellan

Services for Ruby McClellan of Anniston will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary.

Mrs. McClellan died Saturday at her home.

McComb

LINCOLN — Private services are planned for Eugene Samuel McComb, 75, of Lincoln.

Mr. McComb died Wednesday in Birmingham.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine Wilhite and a son, Gregory McComb, both of Morris, Okla.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mr. McComb was a native of Fall River, Massachusetts and had lived in Lincoln 20 years. He was a Catholic and a retired security guard. He had worked many years with the Boy Scouts.

McLain

Services for Herman McLain, 74, of Anniston will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mr. McLain died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Nance

LINCOLN — Services for Margaret Ann Nance, 65, of Lincoln will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Anniston. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Complete arrangements will be announced by the funeral home.

Mrs. Nance died Saturday at UAB Hospitals in Birmingham.

Rollins

WEAVER — Services for Rebecca "Beckie" Rollins, 62, of Weaver will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Anniston with Rev. David Rice officiating and Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel in charge. The family will receive friends Monday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rollins died Thursday in Weaver.

Survivors include her husband, Harry C. Rollins of Weaver; her mother, Lorene Gavin of Plant City, Fla.; three sons, Harold N. Rollins and his wife, Linda, of Colorado Springs, Colo., David N. Rollins and his wife, Libby, of Decatur, and William N. Rollins and his fiancée, Brooke Markovitch of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Diane Rohde and her husband, Clyde, of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, William Gavin Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Panama City, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Rachael S. Rollins, Jacob G. Rollins and MacIntosh G. Rollins.

Mrs. Rollins was a Florida native and traveled extensively with her husband while he served in the Navy and the U.S. Geological Survey. She had lived in Anniston since 2001. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anniston, where she was active on several committees. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, William "Bill" Gavin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Anniston, 1701 Henry Road, Anniston, AL, 36207.

Thomas

Services for Effie Mae Thomas, 94, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Norris Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomas died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include a son, James E. Thomas and his wife, Dollie, of Anniston; four daughters, Clara Mae Floyd of Anniston, Alama Rae Jennings and her husband, Luther, of Jacksonville, Edna Beal and her husband, Robert, of Anniston and Rita Faye Mulligan and her husband, Jerry, of Anniston; 19 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Michael Thomas, Finley Jennings, Jimmy Floyd, Jackie Tant, Brian Mulligan and Jeremy Campbell.

Mrs. Thomas was a Carroll County, Ga., native. She was a Baptist by faith and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Thomas, and two daughters, Edith Thomas and Patricia Tant.

Wilson

HOKES BLUFF — Services for Billie Godfrey Wilson, 81, of Hokes Bluff will be 2 p.m. today at Hokes Bluff First United Methodist Church with Revs. James Haskins and Chris Denson officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery with Crestwood Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church an hour before the service.

Mrs. Wilson died Friday.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Wayne Patty of Arab and Lynn and Troy Wagnon of Hokes Bluff; two sons and their wives, Jim and Deb Wilson of Piedmont and Scott and Donna Wilson of Hokes Bluff; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Bobo and her husband, James, and Dot Swann; a brother, John Ed Godfrey and his wife, Carolyn; a sister-in-law, Dot Godfrey; a special cousin, Libby Clay, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wilson and her late husband, Bill Wilson, operated Piedmont Auto Parts for more than 33 years. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong United Methodist and actively participated in church activities. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mollie Godfrey; a brother, James Godfrey and a brother-in-law, Bill Swann.

Memorials may be made to Hokes Bluff First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3001 Alford Bend Road, Hokes Bluff, AL 35903.
