JOYCE KLINE CAMPBELL

BOAZ - Graveside Service for Joyce Kline Campbell, 78, will be Thursday, May 5, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Boaz, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Keith Dodd officiating. Mrs. Campbell died Tuesday, May 3, at Marshall Medical Center South in Marshall. She was a retired secretary to the President of Snead State Community College and a Member of Boaz First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by husband Buddy Campbell and grandson Shannon Kline Campbell. She is survived by son Eddy Campbell (Laura B.) of Talladega; daughter Lynda C. Smith of Boaz; sister Olga K. Treece of Enterprise. Boaz Carr Funeral Home in Boaz will direct the service.

JOSEPH F. KEARLEY

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Joseph F. Kearley, 91, will be Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, with Curtis Flat from Helena church of Christ and David Kearley officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Kearley died May 3 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. He was a native and a lifelong resident of Talladega. He and his wife Nell Kearley were happily married for 66 years. He was a member of The Church of Christ for 40 years and was currently attending Helena Church of Christ. He served in the U. S. Army for 3 years. (1936-1939) He enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was a retired security officer with Alabama School for the Deaf and Blind.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter Tammy Harris. He is survived by his wife, Nell Kearley, four sons, Joseph Lawrence Kearley and David Wren Kearley of Tall., Marcus Julian Kearley of Florence, and Kenneth Laben Kearley of Tampa, Fla. Two daughters, Jonelle Kearley Leach of Alabaster and Linda Susan Kearley Walters of Chelsy, 16 grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Kearley, Allen Kearley, Tim Kearley, Joey Kearley, Van Wood, Adam Kearley and David Walters. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

ARTHUR MCMILLIAN

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Arthur McMillian will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Harperspring Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Flannigan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. McMillian died April 29 at his residence. He was a member of Harperspring Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board. He was retired from J & L Steel. He is survived by three daughters, Annette McMillian of Sylacauga, Ethel Pettiford of Brownsville, N.J., and Linda Williams of Beaver Falls, Pa.; three sons, Jimmy Dark and Anthony McMillian both of Sylacauga, and Franklin McMillian of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Essie Leonard, Dollie Lauderdale and Annie Ferguson all of Sylacauga.

Pallbearers will be Fred Borden, Calvin Wayne Nix, Derrick Nix, James Nix, Jerome Wilson and Marvin Nix. Flower bearers will be nieces and friends of the family. Visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

RAGLAND - Funeral service for Donald "Donnie" Peoples, 50, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel in Pell City. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct.

JAMES GLENN "JIMMY" ROBERTS

TALLADEGA - Graveside services for James Glenn "Jimmy" Roberts, 77, of Talladega will be Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m. from the Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. William J. Casaday officiating. Mr. Roberts passed away May 3 at his home.

Mr. Roberts was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired Small Business Owner. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by daughter Debra Roberts Pennington and husband Larry and son Jinky Roberts all of Talladega; Grandson Chris Clowers and wife Betsy of Dallas, Texas, sisters Evelyn Fulmer of Talladega; Betty Henson and Berty Brown both of Marietta, Ga., Ninta Jackson of Birmingham, brothers Anthony "Boots" Roberts of Talladega and William "Billy" Roberts of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

Active pallbearers are Jerry Roberts, Ronnie Roberts, Joe Bob Sanders, B.B. McKibbon, Dave Jackson, Bud Curlee. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

SANDRA DAVIDSON RODGERS

WEOGUFKA - Funeral services for Sandra Davidson Rodgers, 57, will be Friday May 6, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Grice and the Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Sylacauga. Mrs. Rodgers died Tuesday, May 3, at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Harry T. Rodgers of Weogufka; father Joe Davidson of Sylacauga; brother Johnny Davidson of Sylacauga; sisters Barbara Bailey of Sylacauga and Kathy Leverett of Clarksville, Tenn.; 10 nieces, three great nieces and nephews. ANNIE ELIZABETH SMITH ROE

CROPWELL - Funeral service for Annie Elizabeth Smith Roe, 79, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct.

PEGGY DARLENE TYLER

CHILDERSBURG - Funeral service for Peggy Darlene Tyler, 50, will be Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga, with Brother Clarence Denney and Brother James Cullins officiating. Burial will be in Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine. Mrs. Tyler died May 3 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Childersburg Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Sidney Tyler of Childersburg; two daughters, Macie Nixon and Wendy Tyler of Childersburg; brother, William Walker Jr. of Sylacauga; three sisters, Debra Brannon of Childersburg, Rebecca Wright and Brenda Offord of Sylacauga; three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Moore Jr., Kevin Bryant, William Walker III, Matthew Moore, Tommy Allen and Shawn Trucks. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffery Cosper. You may contact the family at www.radneysmith.com. Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

ESSIE L. TURNER WILLIAMS VORNS

Essie L. Turner Williams Vorns, age 58, of Waukegan, Ill., passed away March 13 in Waukegan, Ill. Essie began her life journey on Jan. 8, 1947 in Talladega. She was the oldest child born to Ell Turner Jr. and Dora B. Kirksey Turner. Essie attended George Washington Carver Elementary School and graduated from Ophelia S. Hill High School in Munford. She also attended Alabama A&M College, Huntsville.

She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Little X. Vorns, Waukegan, Ill.; one son, Benjamin Williams, Waukegan, Ill.; two daughters, Benita Williams, Zion, Ill., and Carmella Vorns, Gurnee, Ill.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Willis D. (Mildred) Turner, Colorado Springs, Colo., Willie C. (Edna) Turner, Roscoe, Ill., and the Rev. Edward Turner, Talladega; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; several aunts, including two special aunts, Odessa (John) Williams, Waukegan, Ill., her namesake, Essie Mae Turner Denson, Talladega; one uncle, F.M. Kirksey, Talladega; and many dear relatives and devoted friends. Funeral service was held in March in Waukegan, Ill. Bradshaw & Range Funeral Home directed the service.

FOLEY - Graveside services for Nett Chambers, 80, will be Friday at 4:30pm at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:30-4pm at the funeral home. Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds will direct.

CARL ALAN MARTIN

MUNFORD - Graveside service for Carl Alan Martin, 56, will be May 7 at 3 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Cemetery, Anniston. Mr. Martin died May 5. Visitation: May 6, 6:30-9pm. Usrey Funeral Home will direct.

ROZELL RIGGSBY

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Rozell Riggsby, 81, will be Friday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Childersburg Church of God with the Rev. Louie Fincher and the Rev Sonny Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Childersburg Cemetery. Mrs. Riggsby died Wednesday, May 4 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Childersburg Church of God, a loving mother and wife, and was dedicated to the Lord and her church. She is preceded in death by husband L.E. Riggsby and son Bobby Riggsby. She is survived by sons Charles Riggsby and wife JoAnn of Sylacauga, Phillip Riggsby and wife Joy of Childersburg; daughter Gail Adair and husband George of Harpersville; brother Porter Higginbotham of Gardendale; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Riggsby, George Adair, Josh Thomas, and Anthony Hill. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

MASTER DEVIN PAUL JONES

CHILDERSBURG - Funeral service for Master Devin Paul Jones, 4, will be Monday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Hickman and Brother Clarence Denney officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

Master Jones died May 7 at his residence. He is survived by his father and mother, Ricky Jones and Dawn G. Jones of Childersburg; sister, Olivia Isbell of Prattville; brother, Bradley Edwards of Jonesboro, Ark.; paternal grandparents, Sarah Thomas and Rick and Cathy Jones; maternal grandparents, Claudia Denise and Jeffery Scott and Charles and Judy Gill; great-grandparents, Mary and Lonnie Ellison; great-great-grandparents, Cordelia Hobbs, Thelma Jones, Bennie Ray and Ann Gill; aunts, Amanda Jones, Stephanie Farr, Crystal Gilbert and Tiffani Grogan; uncles, Shawn Gill, Shane Gill, John Jones, Mark Jones and Brandon Jones; and cousins, Summer, Autumn, Ryan, Lexie, Aidin and Tristan.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

DEMEARL MALONE

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Demearl "Tootsie" Malone, 77, will be Monday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Ingram, Glenn Bates and the Rev. Alan Layton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Malone died May 5 at her residence. She was a native of Talladega and lived in Birmingham for many years before moving back to Talladega. She was a member of McCoy United Methodist Church in Birmingham and attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Talladega. She was a cosmetologist in Talladega for many years and was very active in her church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Malone; and three brothers, Bruce Arnold, Charles Arnold and Buel Arnold. She is survived by one sister, Cludie Miller of Talladega; one brother, Doyt Eugene Arnold of Talladega; great-niece and caretakers, Pamela Bates and husband Glenn; niece and caretakers, Brenda Lawley and husband Randall; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hammonds, Glenn Bates, Horace Bates, Kevin Jones, Herbert Miller, Hiram Estes and Wayne Brown. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

MARZELLA GARRETT McKENZIE

CHICAGO, Ill. - Funeral service for Marzella Garrett McKenzie, 82, of 3055 W. Floyner St., will be Monday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Kings Chapel United Church of Christ with the Rev. Van Tony Welch and the Rev. Richard Fair officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. McKenzie died May 1 at her residence. She is survived by daughter, Nellie Ree Robinson of Detroit, Mich.; and brothers, Jimmy Garrett of Childersburg, Jewell Garrett of Alpine and Tom Garrett of Columbiana. The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

MATTIE MAE PEARSON

ANNISTON - Mattie Mae Pearson, 94, died May 7 at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

ALEXANDER CITY - Rosie M. Russell died May 6 at University Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright's Funeral Home.
