Funeral services for Leonard Mack Brannon, 78, of Addison will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003 at Addison Church of God, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brannon died Thursday, Aug. 21 in Addison.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lee Brannon; and his parents, John and Lena Brannon.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Brannon; and a daughter, Lynnita Murphree.

Visitation was Friday.

Emma Jane Drinkard

Funeral services for Emma Jane Drinkard, 69, are at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Carl Malin officiating, with Burial in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Drinkard died Saturday, Aug. 23 at her residence. She was born in Morgan County July 17, 1934 to Joseph and Ollie Childers Drinkard. She was retired from Golden Rod.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Shelvey Drinkard, Jim Drinkard, John Drinkard and Wheeler Drinkard; and two sisters, Virginia and Imogene Brasher.

Survivors include four sons, Gary (Gail) Bates, Ricky (Wanda) Bates, Randy (Glenda) Bates, all of Cullman, and Terry (Mary) Bates of Falkville; a daughter, Sheila (Krandeal) Holloway of Cullman; two brothers, Avery Drinkard and Thomas Drinkard; two sisters, Zera Brasher and Geraldine Bates; 12 grandchildren, Melody Steele, Chad Bates, Julie Clay, Courtney Bates, Nicholas Bates, Trenda Bates, Delaney Bates, Timmy Holloway, Travis Holloway, Amanda Johnson, Junior Holloway and Mary Holloway; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah Clay, Hunter Clay, Julie Johnson, Addrain Johnson and Megan Johnson.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Evelyn Kay McCubbins

Funeral services for Evelyn Kay McCubbins, 42, are at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Edison Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church; Floyd Bradford officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McCubbins died Saturday, Aug. 23 in Cullman County. She was born in Cullman County Jan. 30, 1961 to Donald C. and Liddie Miller Bryan. She was a former restaurant cook.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Ann Butler.

Survivors include her parents; a daughter, Charlotte (Charles) Harris of Arab; five sisters, Donna (Bobby) Cryer, Linda (Charles) Hyde, Mary Bryan, Cindy (Shannon) Kenney and Debbie (Adam) Harris; a grandson, Dakota Paul Harris; and a granddaughter, Katie Harris.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elvie Kennon Rhodes

Graveside services for Elvie Kennon Rhodes, 66, of Cullman are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003 at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rhodes died Friday, Aug. 22, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 20, 1937 to Jamie Elvie and Inez Young Rhodes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Tamy (Billy Wayne) Harbison; a sister, Doris (Martin) Merriman; two brothers, James Sherrill (Mary Alice) Rhodes and Maxie Grant (Diane) Rhodes; and a grandson, Joshua Tyler Harbison.

Visitation was Saturday.

Buna Ester Tucker Carter

Funeral services for Buna Ester Tucker Carter, 83, are at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Moss Service chapel, with Burial in Fairview Methodist Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carter died Saturday, Aug. 23 at Gardendale Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 22, 1919 to David E. and Mary Elizabeth Harris Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Huel M. Carter and Byron G. Carter, both of Gardendale; a daughter, Diane A. Johnson of Gardendale; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Henry Leigeber

Graveside services for Henry Leigeber, 70, of Manchester, Tenn., formerly of Cullman, are at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Gilmore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Leigeber died Friday, Aug. 22 at Manchester Community Living Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertha Dahlke Leigeber; and a daughter, Linda Ryback.

Survivors include a daughter, Mari (Richard) Harpham of Oklahoma; four sons, Cecil Leigeber, Russ Leigeber, Don (Kim) Leigeber, all of Michigan, and Jimmy Leigeber of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Jack Salter

Funeral services for Jack Salter, 86, of Cullman are at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, with Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

Ridout's Elmwood Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Salter died Saturday, Aug. 23. He was a member of Cullman First United Methodist Church, a Mason and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sharpe Salter.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. Salter of Decatur and James G. Salter of Cullman; and eight grandchildren, Tommy Salter, Tim Salter, John Salter, David Salter, Tammy Higgins, Chris Griffin, Terri Butler and Carol Karrh; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County or Cullman First United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.

William John McQuillin Jr.

Graveside services for William John McQuillin Jr., 75, of Vinemont were Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Friendship Methodist Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McQuillin died Sunday, Aug. 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1928 in Englewood, N.J. to William J. Sr. and Grace McMurdie McQuillin. He was a painter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Driver McQuillin of Vinemont; a son, William (Gwen) McQuillin of Falkville; a daughter, Deborah (Bill) Brumbeloe of Eva; and three grandsons, Eric Brumbeloe, Alex Brumbeloe and Jake McQuillin.

Ora Lou Morrison

Funeral services for Ora Lou Morrison, 97, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Frank Wood and T.A. Prickett officiating, with Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Ensley.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Morrison died Sunday, Aug. 24 at Cullman Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 7, 1905 in Chilton County. She was a past member of Eastern Star, Labuca Baptist Church and Shady Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace O. and Sarah Rushing Strength; her husband, John Cary Morrison; a son, Wallace Clayton Lee Morrison; two daughters, Mae Catherine Morrison and Barbara Jean Nichols; a grandson, Bobby Nichols; and a granddaughter, Patricia Nichols.

Survivors include a daughter, Mira Dean (Horace Sr.) Gentry of Crane Hill; six grandchildren, Horace Gentry Jr., Deborah Jean Knott, Cary Gentry, Sandra Gail Mattox, Carolyn Freeman and Ray DuBose; and 10 great-grandchildren, Joe Bailey Jr., Kevin James Gentry, Chris Gentry, Jay Gentry, Patrick Dunagan, Carissa Gentry, Kelsey Dunagan, Tabitha Freeman, Ashley Freeman and Heather Davenport.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.

Mr. Rhodes died Friday, Aug. 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 20, 1937 in Alabama to James Elvie and Inez Young Rhodes. He worked for maintenance at UAB Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Rhodes; a daughter, Tammy (Billy Wayne) Harbison; a sister, Doris (Martin) Merriman; two brothers, James Sherrill (Mary Alice) Rhodes and Maxie Grant (Diane) Rhodes; and a grandson, Joshua Tyler Harbison.

Teddy Mason Miller

Funeral services for Teddy Mason Miller, 19, of Vinemont will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Steven Smith officiating.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Miller died Sunday, Aug. 24 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born in Nashville, Tenn. on Nov. 28, 1983. He was in trucking for L&C, Inc.

Survivors include his father, Virgil (Holly Beth) Miller of Vinemont; his mother, Cheryl (Thomas) Stone of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Cody Lynn (Wesley) Coleman of Cullman, Nicky Lynn (Jonathan) Rogers and Cheryl Dawn Lynn Stone, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Latasha Lynn Miller and Candy Lynn Miller, both of Vinemont; three nephews; and two nieces.

Visitation will be from noon to 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clara Josephine Spradlin

Graveside services for Clara Josephine Spradlin, 61, of Cullman were Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Cullman City Cemetery, the Rev. Frank Wood officiating.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Spradlin died Sunday, Aug. 24 at her residence. She was born in Traverse City, Mich. on Feb. 7, 1942 to Leo and Zelda Vanderhoof Kratochvil.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include three sons, Mark Norman Pardo of Ft. Myers, Fla., Scott Lewis Pardo of Cullman and Milford Keith Henderson of Dadeville; a daughter, Kimberly Faye Oliver of Cullman; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Laura and Daniel Oliver, Mark, Donna Jo, Jammie, Will, Allen, Andrew and Michelle Pardo, Keith Henderson and Robert Withrow; and four great-grandchildren, Hope, Kayla, Wayne and Michael Oliver.

Jerome Charles Walker

Funeral services for Jerome Charles Walker, 71, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003 at Mt. Vernon Methodist Church, Roland Westmoreland and Glenn McCain officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Walker died Monday, Aug. 25 at his residence. He was born in Cullman County on June 13, 1932 to Loyd Dyson and Pearl Lou Rena Cole Walker. He was a machine operator at Americold Compressor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mitzi McCombs Walker of Vinemont; two sons, Clint (Jennifer) Walker, Tim Walker, both of Vinemont; brother, Jerry Walker of Moulton; sister, Reba Willingham of Vinemont; sister-in-law, Betty Walker of Vinemont; brother-in-law, Russell Warren of Vinemont; and three grandchildren, Andrew Walker, Jessie Walker and Rena Walker, all of Vinemont.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
