Charles Wayne Hile

Mr. Charles Wayne Hile, age 58, a resident of Taylor, Arkansas, died Monday, march 31, 2008 in the Dierks Health and Rehab Center.

He was born May 2, 1049 in Dierks to Charlie and Stella Mae Wilson Hile. he was a logger, mechanic, reserve police officer in Springhill, Louisiana and a Baptist.

He is survived by two sons: Charles Hile, Jr. and Rodney Hile both of Springhill, Louisiana; one daughter, Tamara Scurlock of Mt. Ida, arkansas; one brother, Travis Hile of Dierks; three sisters: Frances Brakeville of Provo, Thelma Cogburn and Allie Oaks both of Dierks; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Hile will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in the Fellowship Cemetery with Calvin Parker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6;00 -8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1st at the funeral home in Dierks.

Mary Jane Black Nelson

Mrs. Mary Jane Black Nelson, age 40, a resident of De Queen, Ark., died Sunday, March 30, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana.

She was born to Cecil Clifford and Ruby Lee Allen Black at Arlington, Texas, on May 10, 1967. She was an employee of Husqvarna Outdoor Products, and was a Baptist. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and spending time with her children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Black, and her step-father, Shorty Barrow.

She is survived by her husband, Shane Burt of De Queen, one son, Dalton Nelson of De Queen, two daughters and a son-in-law, Randi and Coy Hasley of Arkadelphia, and Traci Copeland of Grand Saline, Texas, her mother, Ruby Barrow of De Queen, her step-mother, Karen Edwards of Blountville, Ala.; three brothers, Cecil Black and Neil Black both of Ardmore, Okla.; Columbus Black of Eagletown, Okla.; two sisters, Tammie Black of De Queen, and Bernie Black of Talihina, Okla., one granddaughter, Taylor Hasley of Arkadelphia, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jane Nelson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in the Eagletown Cemetery with Cy Davis, Minister, officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Robert Stephen Wall Sr.

Mr. Robert Stephen Wall, Sr., age 55, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, March 24, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born Friday, March 20, 1953 to David O. and Fannie L. Grau Wall. He was retired from the Red River Army Depot, a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Wall was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Wall; his step-mother, Minnie Lucille Wall; and one brother, Danny Wall.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Zacharias Wall; two sons and, Robert Wall, Jr. and his wife Nancy and Richard Wall and his wife Stacy, all of De Queen; his father, David Wall of Texarkana, Texas; three sisters, Sylvia Jo Roberts of Irving, Texas, Patsy Ann Wall of Texarkana, Texas and Susie Barton of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; four brothers, Jerry Wall of Texarkana, Texas, Cary Lynn Wall of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Gary Don Wall of Texarkana, Texas and Michael Wall of Nash, Texas; two grandchildren, Alexandra Wall of De Queen and Cane Adonis Wall of Texarkana; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rodel Capobres officiating. Burial will follow in the Beacon Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26th at the funeral home.

Maggie Lee West Gardner

Mrs. Maggie Lee West Gardner, age 76, a resident of De Queen, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at her home.

She was born to Walter and Lorene West at Millerton, Oklahoma on September 30, 1931. She was a member of the De Queen Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed taking care of people, gardening, working in the yard, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Harvey Dunlop, a sister, Anna Plunk, and her husband, Joe Shaw.

She is survived by four sons, Joe Edward Shaw of Fort Worth, Texas, Ronnie Oneal Shaw of De Queen, Michael Steven Shaw of Ashdown, Ark., and Richard Allen Shaw also of De Queen, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Gardner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008 in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ray Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., March 23rd

Karen Lynn Young Taylor

Mrs. Karen Lynn Young Taylor, age 46, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, from injuries received in an automobile accident, approximately 2 miles north of Lockesburg.

She was born to Douglas Eugene and Flossie M. Butler Young at Honolulu, Hawaii, on January 11, 1962. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of De Queen, and was a counselor for Career Pathways at CCCUA. She enjoyed singing at church, crafts, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, a sister, Susan Young, and a great-nephew, Austin.

She is survived by her parents, Doug and Flossie Young of Gillham, one brother, Donovan Young of King, Arkansas, one sister, and brother-in-law, Sharon and Darrell Payne of De Queen, two nieces, Sharrell and her husband, Jeremy Pearce, and Aliesha and her husband, Tim Thornton, all of Gillham, and Nicholas and his wife, Jamie Payne of Mountain Home, Ark., and a special friends, Stephanie Wallace, and Nelda Fant, as well as other family members, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Karen Taylor will held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22 in the First Assembly of God Church De Queen, with Rev. Ray Reynolds, and Rev. Kent Irvan officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery, Horatio. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 21st.

James Carroll Turner

Mr. James Carroll Turner, age 85, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in the Crystal Falls Health Care, De Queen.

He was born to James Mack and Linnie Mae Marcus Turner at Shamrock, Texas, on June 12, 1922. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 82 Air Borne Parachute Infantry, with the U. S. Army, and was a Silver Star, 7 Bronze Stars, and Purple Heart Recipient. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and enjoyed working, and spectator sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond Turner, and in 1995, his wife, Opal Turner.

He is survived by one son, Dennis Turner of Columbus, Mississippi, one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Mark Dunn of Little River Club, Arkansas, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Carroll Jackson of Foreman, Arkansas, and Ethel Mae and Pete Marsh of Borger, Texas, three grandchildren, Lorie Tudor of Little River Club, Ark.; Dicky Dunn of Nashville, Ark.; and Ian Turner of Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Col, three great-grandchildren, Trey Howard, Madison Tudor, and Tres Dunn, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Carroll Turner will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Blakney, minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen.

Lawrence Ray Hall

Mr. Lawrence Ray Hall, age 75, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born Friday, April 29, 1932 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to E.L. and Olivee Munn Coley. He was a plant engineer for Weyerhaeuser Co. and a member of the First Baptist Church in De Queen.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Steve Grant Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ann Bell Hall; two daughters, Stephanie Butler and Christy Ligon; two sisters, Arlene Revels and Norma Pentecost all of De Queen; and four grandchildren, J.D. and Charlie Ligon and Brian and Chelsi Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Hall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2008 in the Redmen Cemetery with Rev. J.L. Walker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Harold Wayne Smith

Mr. Harold Wayne Smith, age 65, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the V. A. Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.

He was born to Edgar and Beulah Cunningham Smith at De Queen, Arkansas, on July 8, 1942.

He was a veteran of the Vietname War, having served in the U. S. Navy, and was a truck driver and diesel mechanic. He was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting guns, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Marvin Smith. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith of De Queen, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stacy and Amy Smith of Horatio, Ark.; and Michael Smith of De Queen, one daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Steve Randall of Horatio, one sister and brother-in-law, Illeen and Manuel Dossett of De Queen, a sister-in-law, Carlene Smith of Tyler, Texas, seven grandchildren, Felicia, Garrett, Jalon, Mitchell, Ashton, Sierra, and Blake, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Harold Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 21st in the Rose Hill Baptist Church, De Queen, with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellville Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, March 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Harold E. Yates

Harold E. Yates, age 58, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 16th in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born to Harold E., Sr., and Lorene Turner Yates at De Queen, Arkansas, on August 15, 1949. He was a veteran of the Vietname War, having served with the U. S. Army, and was service manager for De Queen Ford-Chrysler. He was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ and enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing, calf roping, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Carol Ann Yates.

He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Waldon Yates of De Queen, a son, Clayton Yates, and his fiancé, Aundra Young of De Queen, one step-son, Brandon McMillian, and his wife, Autumn, of Nashville, Ark.; two step-daughters, Jennifer, and her husband, Marcus Power, and Ashley McMillian and her fiancé, Jamie McClendon all of De Queen, one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Anita Turner of Lockesburg, five step-grandchildren, Jesse, Cheyenne, Zoe, Santana, and Gracie, four nephews, Chris, Matt, Josh, and Ronnie Wayne Turner, as well as other family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Hillier officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in the Cane Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, March 18th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Sallie Ann Morris Graham

Mrs. Sallie Ann Morris Graham of Broken Bow, OK died Sunday, March 16,2008 in Broken Bow.

She was born September 20,1914 at Anderson, Tennessee to Grover and Dosha Summers Morris. She was a homemaker and a member of a non-denominational church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, six brothers and her husband, John Graham.

She is survived by two sisters, Minnie B. Davis of Broken Bow and Ina Mae Parsons of Battiest, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Graham will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th in the Redman Cemetery in De Queen, Arkansas, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
