Patricia Ann King

Patricia Ann King, age 76, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 7, 2013, in the Brookewood Nursing and Rehab in De Queen.

She was born December 27, 1936, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. King was a Registered Nurse for the HSC Medical Center in Malvern, Arkansas, a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She enjoyed playing dominoes and the monthly trips to Broken Bow to play slots with her friends from Brookewood.

Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Lee and Lillian Ilene Williams Holt; one sister, Jean Spicer and one great grandchild.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stanley Richard King, Jr. and Courtney King of St. Louis Missouri, Douglas Allen King of Texarkana, Arkansas and Mark and Kim King of Horatio, Arkansas; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mrs. King will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013, in the First Baptist Church in Ashdown with Rev. Butch Riddle officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

James D. "Jake" Wise

Mr. James D. Wise, age 91, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013, at his home.

He was born November 5, 1921, in Hedley, Texas the son of the late Robert and Alzert (Pugh) Wise. James was a member of First Baptist Church in Grannis. He served in the Army Airforce during World War II for three years and three days. He worked at the Hatton Saw Mill and was a poultry farmer.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, one grandson, James Wise and two daughters-in-law.

His survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Jean Curtis Wise of Grannis; one daughter, Gwyn and husband Joyle Hartin of Dierks, Arkansas; two sons, Jim and (Valerie) Wise and Wayne and (Diann) Wise of Grannis, Arkansas; two sisters, Leona and husband Jessie Buck of Sheridan, Arkansas and Neldia Moncrief of Irving, Texas; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Wise will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen, Arkansas with Jerry Taylor and John Wisinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Grannis Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 9th at the funeral home.

Sue Moore

Mrs. Virginia Sue Griffin Moore, age 43, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Friday, September 06, 2013, in Ashdown.

She was born to Garlin Steven and Judy Elizabeth Hedden Griffin at De Queen, Arkansas, on December 19, 1969. She was a 1988 graduate of Horatio High School, and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a former employee of Pleasant Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed music, singing, karaoke, fishing, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by one son, Brian Eugene Moore of Texarkana, Texas, two daughters, Brianna Elaine Moore and Aimee Elizabeth Griffin both of Horatio, her parents, Garlin Griffin and Judy Griffin both of Horatio, one brother, John Garlin Griffin of Horatio, one sister Carrie Chandler of Horatio, her grandmother, Jean Griffin of Ashdown, Arkansas, a special friend, Kenny Diggs of Provo, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Sue Moore will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, September 9th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sam Hendricks officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mr. Luis Alberto DeJesus Borrero

Mr. Luis Alberto DeJesus Borrero, age 68, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, September 5th In the Dierks Health and Rehab, Dierks.

He was born May 3, 1945 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico. He was retired from construction, and was a Catholic. He enjoyed fighting roosters, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanca Rosa Ruiz Padilla, and a son, Angel Luis DeJesus.

He is surived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Luis DeJesus and Roseann of De Queen, and Alberto Luis DeJesus and Raixa Nichole of Puerto Rico, two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth DeJesus Matias andWigberto of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and Lisandra DeJesus Matias and Julio of Ponce, Puerto, Rico, four grandchildren, and his sisters: Amada DeJesus Borrero, Dora DeJesus Borrero, Ive DeJesus Borrero, Maribel DeJesus Borrero, and Lidia DeJesus Borrero.

Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Sheila Anne Hill

Sheila Anne Hill, age 65 of Idabel, OK passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on October 22, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

Sheila worker several years at the Hugo Medical Clinic. She loved her patients that she helped take care of and also had fun with them by giving them a hard time. Sheila was an extremely hard worker and took very good care of her home. She was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County moving here as a young teenager from Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Hill; and a great granddaughter, Payton Cockrell.

Sheila is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chris Methvin of Hugo, OK; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Brenda Cockrell of De Queen, AR, Jerry and Michelle Cockrell of Germany and Jesse Cockrell of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Rance Cockrell, Brittany Cockrell, Dustin Cockrell, Jake Cockrell, Ryan Cockrell, Cheynne and David Carlile, Josh Purtell, Trevor Methvin, Matthew Cockrell, Zac Cockrell and Jaden Cockrell; a great-grandson, Eathen Cockrell; nephew, Tommy Hill of Idabel, OK; nieces, Theresa Hill of Idabel, OK and Tina Collier of Texas; several other relatives and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Interment will follow at the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow, OK.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 20413 at the funeral home.

Betty Sue Chandler Wittenmeyer

Betty Sue Chandler Wittenmeyer, age 74, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, September 2, 2013, in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.

She was born January 19, 1939, in Umpire, Arkansas. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in De Queen. She loved kids, fishing, country music and the Razorbacks.

Mrs. Wittenmeyer was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse M. and Lois Agnes Poole Chandler; her husband, Roger Wittenmeyer; one daughter, Vickie Osborne; two sisters, Margaret Irene Brophy and Barbara Bowlin; two nieces and two nephews.

She is survived by one daughter, Shelby Ryan of Chicago, IL; one son, Gregg Wittenmeyer of Waukegan, IL; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and James Jennings of Blanchard, LA; four brothers and sisters-in-law, John David and Janine Chandler of Maud, TX, Jesse Wayne and Linda Chandler of De Queen, AR, Bob and Vada Chandler of Foreman, AR and Carl and Jan Chandler of De Queen, AR; one brother-in-law, Jim Brophy of De Queen, AR, five grandchildren, Tanisha Adams, Brooke Ryan, Melissa Osborne-Ryan, Matthew Osborne and Christopher Philbe and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs. Wittenmeyer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013, in the Friendship Baptist Church in De Queen with Robert Ward officiating.

Edward Anthony Nyeholt

Edward Anthony Nyeholt, age 86, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, formerly of Dierks, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home.

He was born May 13, 1927 in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Canada. He returned to the states in early adulthood. He served in the Canadian Army and Navy and was a Baptist.

Mr. Nyeholt was a former business owner. He owned various businesses in the Dierks, Hope and New Boston area. After retirement he worked in the Nashville and Wickes Elementary schools as a Foster Grandparent. He loved children and was loved by them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lychema A. Nyeholt and Cornelia Schram; his wife, Patricia Nyeholt; and one brother.

He is survived by two special friends, Helen Easterwood of Wickes and Lynn McRaven of Dierks, many former second grade children that were his family and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Nyeholt will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in the Dierks Cemetery with Kenny Fant officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Viewing will be held from 3:00- 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept 3rd at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks.

Rebecca Sue Davis

Rebecca Sue Davis, age 48, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at her home.

She was born March 27, 1965 in De Queen to Leonard Miles and Della Louise Boyett Davis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Louise Davis; and two brothers, Paul Davis and Myles Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Gregorio Pantoja of De Queen; one daughter, Tabitha Sotelo of De Queen; one son, Leonard Ashley Davis of De Queen; her father, Leonard Miles Davis of De Queen; one sister, Jessie Mason of Nashville, Arkansas; and a brother, Bert Davis of Hooks, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Izabella Sotelo, Sofia Sotelo, Alesandro Sotelo, and Ashley Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 8:00-11:00 a.m., Monday, September 2nd at the funeral home.

Jeffery Lonnie Kirkpatrick

Jeffery Lonnie Kirkpatrick, age 50, a resident of De Queen, AR, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in Christus St. Michael Health Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born September 12, 1963, in De Queen. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity. He was a supervisor at Pilgrim’s Pride and member of the First Baptist Church in De Queen. He was inducted into the Arkansas Softball Hall of Fame, was a member of the Sweet Home Masonic Lodge #461 in De Queen and was an avid hunter and Razorback fan.

Jeff was a caring son, brother and father. He loved life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie T. Kirkpatrick.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Twana Krudwig Kirkpatrick; two daughters, Amber Kirkpatrick of Fayetteville, AR and Kayla Kirkpatrick of De Queen; his mother, Regina Brotherton Kirkpatrick also of De Queen; one sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Jerry House of Rogers, AR; one niece, Alexandra House of Fayetteville, AR; and a number of special cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the First Baptist Church in De Queen with George Frachiseur and Bobby Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 1st at the funeral home.

Kelly Denise Wilkerson

Kelly Denise Wilkerson, age 32, a resident of Darlington, South Carolina, died Sunday, October 27th at her home.

She was born January 19, 1981 in Texarkana, Texas. Kelly had a friendly personality and always enjoyed being around her friends. She had worked at Leo’s in Darlington, SC, Jack’s in Florence, SC and other local restaurants.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Terri and Mike Mozingo of Darlington, SC, her father and step-mother, Scott and Marian Wilkerson of De Queen, AR; her son, Garrett Parker of Hartsville, SC; one step-sister, Christy Ward of CA, one step-brother, John Michael Ward of AR, grandparents, Fred Wilkerson, Jr. of De Queen, AR, and Carl and Shirley Burris of Texarkana, AR, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, November 1, 2013 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Frankie Tanner. The family will receive friends following the service.
