Terry L. Vaughn
Terry L. Vaughn, 53, of Piggott died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in the Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born March 9, 1952, the son of the late James Elvis and Frances Alice Kirk Vaughn.
He was united in marriage to Karen Braman Smart on Oct. 20, 1984.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leslie Jerreld Vaughn.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Vaughn of Piggott; two sons, Shannon Smart and wife, Brandy Lynn, and Shane Smart and wife, Brandy Michelle, all of Piggott; four grandchildren, Tanner, Taylor, Ericka and Aaren; two brothers, Harlan Vaughn of Pollard and Curtis Vaughn of Troy, Mo.; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, in the Cummins Chapel Cemetery
in Pollard with Jerry Massey officiating.

Elvia L. Permenter
Elvia L. Permenter, 79, of Piggott died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
She was born July 23, 1926, in Boydsville, the daughter of the late Luther and Ada Neeley Nettles.
She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Permenter on May 5, 1944. They had two children.
She was a member of the South Thornton Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Permenter; one son, David Stanley Permenter; and one sister, Elvera Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Wilson and husband, Vernon, of Campbell; four grandchildren, Kristi Johnson and husband, Palmer, Tonja Peterson and husband, Stephen, Cody Wilson and Cheyenne Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Shane Adair, Kasey Adair, John Daniel Willis, Lane Peterson and Luke Peterson; two sisters, Pansy Gross of Piggott and Clella Whiteside of Poplar Bluff; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with C.O. Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vernon Wilson, Cody Wilson, Stephen Peterson, Shane Adair, Trent Holcomb and Larry Holcomb.

Ronald Everette Pipkens
Ronald Everette Pipkens, 63, Tampa, Fla., died Nov. 21, 2005, in Florida.
He was born Feb. 4, 1942, in Clay County, the son of Everette and Dwila "Dot" Ward Pipkens.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a Captain. During his service he was awarded eight distinguished medals. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Pipkens was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everette Pipkens.
He is survived by his mother, Dwila "Dot" Pipkens of Corning; three sons, Douglas Pipkens of Stewart, Fla., Michael Pipkens and Scott Pipkens, both of Tampa, Fla.; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, in the Mitchell Cemetery
in Greenway with Kevin Murray officiating.

Lola Mae Gibson
Lola Mae Gibson, 99, of Piggott died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
She was born Oct. 17, 1906, in Pollard, the daughter of the late George Louis and Dollie Lee Higdon Conley.
She was united in marriage to Chester Gibson on July 28, 1945, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1969.
She retired from teaching after 45 years in the Piggott area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was active in the Piggott Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Clay County Retired Teachers Association, the Relay for Life and many other organizations.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Renfro; three brothers, Jeffie, Youil and Burnis Conley; two nephews, Doyle and Robert Renfro.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Gary and Linda Conley of Pollard, Jack and Jennie Blake of Piggott, Janice Spence of Piggott, Howard Conley of Fort Smith, Thomas and Donna Conley of Knobel, Donald and Thelma Renfro of Bend, Oreg., Julius and Mary Renfro of Piggott, Junius and Cathy Renfro of Granite City, Mo.; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Loy Culver and Charles Carrens officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard. Pallbearers were Marty Conley, Tony Conley, Donnie Spence, Gary Conley, Thomas Conley and Treaver Shelton.

Ralph Sholan Johnson
Ralph Sholan Johnson, 88, died on Nov. 23, 2005, in Nevada, Texas.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1917, in Piggott, the son of the late Dell and Anna Johnson.
He served in CCC Camps in the 30's and joined the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Federal Housing Administration and attended North Highland Bible Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and his loving wife, Virgie Mae Bowen Johnson.
He is survived by one sister, Triply Muse of Piggott; his children, Linda Gail Noblitt of Dallas and Russell Johnson of Nevada, Texas; grandchildren, Russell David Johnson, Sholana Kay Wells and Ronald Jay Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas.

Judy Theresa Martin
Judy Theresa Martin, 57, of Piggott died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at the NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was of the Southern Baptist faith and was an employee of Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1948, in Hornersville, Mo., the daughter of Lucille Edmonston York of Campbell and the late Bill York.
A Campbell graduate, she married Larry Martin on Aug. 7, 1980, and moved to Piggott.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Keith Samples; and a brother, Donald York.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Martin of the home; three sons, Bryan Samples and wife, Shelly, Sean Martin and wife, Amy, and Mark Samples, all of the Piggott area; her mother, Lucille Edmonston York of Campbell; three brothers, Larry York of Bernie, Wayne York and Arthur York, both of Campbell; three sisters, Karen Ligons of Campbell, Phyllis Cannon of Senath and Roma Barnes of Little Rock; and seven grandchildren. She also touched the lives of innumerable other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, in the chapel of Irby Funeral Home in Piggott with Brother Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at the Irby Funeral Home in Piggott.

Joann Jenn Householder
Joann Jenn Householder, 65, of Piggott died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, in the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center at Paragould.
She was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Booneville, the daughter of the late Marshall and Beatrice Wilson Jackson.
She was preceded in death by one son, Biff Householder.
She is survived by one daughter, Chrystal Householder of Piggott; seven grandchildren, Nolan, Jason, Marshal, Thomas, Rachael, Rebecca and Eli; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bill Ivy officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Nolan, Jason, Thomas, Marshal, Jacob and Nathan Householder.

Hullon Graddy
Hullon Graddy, 88, of Piggott died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, in the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
He was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Bee Branch, the son of the late Earl and Pearl Parrish Graddy.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Canfield. They had three children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerold Graddy and Troy Graddy; and one sister, Imogene Gray.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Graddy of Piggott; one daughter, Kay Settlemoir and husband, Danny, of Piggott; two sons, Mike Graddy and wife, Paula, of Jonesboro and Mickey Graddy and wife, Renaye, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ashlin Spann and husband, Aaron, Tammy Rainwater and husband, Greg, Kassie Skinner and husband, Nate, Melissa Grooms and husband, Jeremy, and Chad Long; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jimmy Graddy of Piggott, J.E. Graddy of Conway, Bobby Joe Graddy of Mark Twain, Mo., and Alion Graddy of Fredericktown, Mo.; three sisters, Earline Williams of Troy, Mo., Juanita Williams and Geneva Gray, both of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Mike Graddy and Greg Rainwater officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ronnie Graddy, Sam Williams, Sammy Williams, Travis Williams, Lisa Manning and Sid Hollis. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Reeves, Milam Seal, Dewey Holcomb and Charlotte Lindsey.

Beauford Gerald "Rocky" Hefner
Beauford Gerald "Rocky" Hefner, 85, of Piggott died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2004, in the Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Piggott.
He was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Knobel, the son of the late James Orto and Virginia Adaline Raiger Hefner.
He was united in marriage to Nellie Walker. They had one son.
He was united in marriage to Alice O'Sheridan Turner on Jan. 20, 1962, and lovingly inherited four daughters.
He accepted Jesus as his savior at an early age. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army Infantry and a member of Piggott Masonic Lodge Number 545.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hefner; one son, Danny; two brothers, Paul and Tommy Hefner; and two sisters, Edsel Hefner Ramer and Opal Hefner Tyler.
He is survived by four daughters, Alice Cole and Rick Nettles, Karen and Ronnie Goodwin, Sandra and Dick Walls, and Billie and Max Poole; one daughter-in-law, Martha Hefner Cavitt; five granddaughters, Dana Hefner Faulkner, Kimberly Walls Sisk, Denisa Alice Poole Shipley, Wendy Walls Smith and Candie Poole Holcomb; 12 great-granddaughters, Krystal Alice, Kaitlyn, Heather and Amber Cole, Jordon Faulkner, Lexi, Peyton and Kara Bell, Riki Sisk, Hollie and Tessa Holcomb and Brooke Alice Shipley; a very special sister-in-law, Bernice Hefner; special nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Mr. Hefner's six grandsons and nine great-grandsons, Phillip J., Kevin A. and Stephen D. Cole, Wylie Anthony, Gary R. and J. Patrick Bell, Hunter Faulkner, K.C., Korey and Sammy Smith, Colton Max Poole, Beau Alex Wicker, Stevie Cole, Drew Fonner and Ryan Bell.
