Rorex

WALNUT RIDGE -- Pauline Rorex, 65, of Walnut Ridge died Friday, Nov. 19, at St. Bernard's Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Born at Hoxie, she lived in the Hoxie and Walnut Ridge area all of her life. She was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God belief.

Survivors include her husband, Don Rorex of the home; two daughters, Kim Brilz of Denver and Gina Rorex of Walnut Ridge; two sons, DeeGee Rorex and Jon Rorex, both of Walnut Ridge; four sisters, Ramona Olsen of Hickman, Ky., Betty Jo Purdy of San Antonio, Ardell Flanagan of Walls, Miss., and Janice Manning of Walnut Ridge; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Rorex, Jordan Rorex and Lilly Brilz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Nora Hutsell Smith, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge, with the Rev. Dale Hughart officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Randy West, Wallace West, Teddy Jo Harmon, Ronnie LeBlane, Clint Berry and Frankie Lee.

Honorary pallbearers will include Gilbert Gimlin, Derek Carson, Paul Barraco and David Watkins.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thompson

MARMADUKE -- James Paul Thompson, 84, of Marmaduke died Saturday, Nov. 20, at his residence.

Born at Brookland, he was retired from General Motors at Flint, Mich. He returned to Arkansas in 1984 and lived in Marmaduke the last 10 years.

He was an Army veteran, having served at Normandy and at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Mason, Shriner and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include one sister, Shirley Rhea of Brookland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Addison and Myrtle McNatt Thompson.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro, with John Soward officiating. Burial with military honors and Masonic rites will be in Pine Log Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bill Rhea, Roy Rhea, Dale Miller, Jim Rhea, Alvin McNatt and Joe Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will include Marion "Fat" Hendrix, Ronnie Hendrix, Billy McNatt, Dale Stoker and Donnie Hendrix.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Anderson infant

WALNUT RIDGE -- Reese Avery Anderson, infant daughter of Rob and Stephanie Anderson of Walnut Ridge died Saturday, Nov. 20, at NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Survivors in addition to her parents include one brother, Tate Aaron of Walnut Ridge; grandparents, Bob and Joan Anderson and Roger and Peggy Jean, all of Walnut Ridge; and great-grandparents, Ralph Clark and Bob and Mary Lou Jean, all of Walnut Ridge.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lawrence Memorial Park, with J.P. Morgan officiating. Burial will be under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Barrett

LEACHVILLE -- Brenda Joyce Barrett, 60, of Leachville died Sunday, Nov. 21, at her residence.

Born at Memphis, Tenn., she was a longtime Leachville area resident and former manager of JR Food Mart at Leachville and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Leachville.

Survivors include one son, Scott Barrett of Leachville; one daughter, Sheila Huddleston of Leachville; and three grandchildren, Brogdon Collins, Brandy Huddleston and Brett Bozone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Sonny" Barrett, and her mother.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Russell Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Beadles

PARAGOULD -- Funeral service for Jessie Pauline Beadles, 94, of Paragould, who died Saturday, Nov. 20, at Paragould, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Maurice Hurd and Larry McFadden will officiate. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will include Chris Rogers, Farrell Gibson, Jason Crossno and Alan Rogers.

Born at Alamo, Tenn., she was a former employee of Missouri Pacific Credit Union and a former member of First Church of God, where she served in missionary services for 70 years.

Survivors include one son, George R. Beadles of Para-gould; one daughter, Patricia Gibson of Paragould; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Plase Beadles; one son, Gene Edward Beadles; her parents; three sisters; and one grandchild.

Capps

DEWITT -- Lester O'dell Capps, 67, of DeWitt died Saturday, Nov. 20.

He worked in construction and as a duck guide.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Capps of Hoxie; two sons, Clifford Capps of Cortez, Colo., and Larry Neal Carpenter of Hoxie; two daughters, Karen Price of Gould and Vickie Annette Jones of Swifton; two brothers, Chester Capps of DeWitt and Barney Capps of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Lorene Birdwell of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, Beth Carter, Sherry Conrad, Kip Capps, Mitzi Capps, Alex B. Carpenter, Erin Paige Carpenter and Shayla Jones; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Mannis Capps, and his parents.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Essex Funeral Home of DeWitt. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Crofford

Dora Enid Crofford, 89, of Jonesboro, formerly of Paragould, died Sunday, Nov. 21, at Jonesboro.

Arrangements will be announced by Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Fife

Visitation for John G. Fife, 34, of Jonesboro, who died Thursday, Nov. 18, near Bay, will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

No services have been planned, and burial will be private.

Born at Spokane, Wash., he moved to Jonesboro three years ago. He was a brick mason and a National Guard veteran.

Survivors include one son, Ian Coswan Fife of Spokane; two daughters, Brielle Raven Fife and Aislinn D. Fife, both of Spokane; three sisters, Melody Bottoms of Bakersfield, Calif., Laurie Story of Jonesboro and Melissa Wallis of Brookland; and six brothers, Donald Alexander of Spotsylvania, Va., Andrew Alexander of La Crosse, Va., Dennis Alexander of Jacksonville, Fla., Jerry Alexander of Morehouse, Mo., Robert Fife of Jonesboro and Kevin Fife of Seattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lackey

NEWPORT -- Clinton Steele Lackey Sr., 64, of Newport died Saturday, Nov. 20, at Newport.

Born at Newport, he was a retired restaurant owner and was a member of Cherokee Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Campbell Lackey of Newport; one son, Clint Lackey Jr. of Lonoke; one daughter, Sonya Burnett of Temple, Texas; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Evelyn Reams Lackey.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Garden Cemetery, with Emmitt Campbell officiating.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.
