Malone

MAYNARD --Charlena M. Malone, 66, of Maynard died Sunday, Feb. 6, at Randolph County Medical Center.

Born in Indiana, she was of the Jehovah Witness belief.

Survivors include two daughters, Anthea L. Davis of Maynard and Trina Gay Mayes of Massillion, Ohio; her mother, Helen Marie Witsman of Pacific, Mo.; two sisters, Joy Dismang of Pacific and Glenna Johnson of Jack, Ala.; one brother, Garland Witsman of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren, Jerry Davis and Chelsa Davis, both of Maynard, and Joshua Mayes, Douglas Mayes and Nicole Mayes, all of Massillion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Malone; one son, Michael Malone; and her father Charles Witsman.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Cox-Waymon Funeral Home in Pocahontas, with Ron Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Maynard Cemetery at a later date.

Wester

HORATIO -- Ann L. Wester, 52, of Horatio died Friday, Feb. 4, at Little Rock.

Born at Lake City, she was a pipe fitter and welder's assistant. She was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include her husband, Doyle Wester of Horatio; one daughter, Marie Wester of Horatio; one son, Terry Wester of Horatio; her parents, Von and Martha Beakley Smith of Bay; two brothers, Don Smith of Nesbit, Miss., and John Smith of Bay; one sister, Nora Lee King of Trumann; and six grandchildren, Lewis Wester, Keith Wester, Kalee Wester, Maloree Wester, Levi Wester and Steven Stinson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home at DeQueen, with the Rev. J.L. Walker officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pine Log Cemetery near Paragould.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Zapata

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Ramon "Ray" Zapata, 65, of Trumann, who died Saturday, Feb. 5, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Ervin Stout will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Al Miller, Danny Sowell, Jackie Richardson, Danny McClellan, Bob Slinkard and Johnny Porter.

Honorary pallbearers will include Theo Austin, Jim Bishop, Johnny Porter Jr. and Wayne Chaffin.

Born at Devine, Texas, he had lived in Trumann since 1972, was a retired painter and of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown Zapata of the home; two daughters, Ramona Cramer of Rockford, Ill., and Shari York of Trumann; five sons, Ramon I. Zapata of San Antonio, Raymond Zapata Jr. of Twentynine Palms, Calif., James Zapata of North Little Rock and Keith Smolder and Tommy Zapata, both of Trumann; five sisters, Maria Zapata of Uvalde, Texas, Maria Perez of Natalia, Texas, Hernestina Anaya of Florida and Adelfa Castillo and Linda Garza, both of Detroit; five brothers, Sammy Garcia and Frank Zapata Jr., both of San Antonio, Andrew Zapata of Big Foot, Texas, and Adolpho Garcia of Detroit.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fransisco and Gregoria Campas Zapata, two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mellow-Brooks

LONOKE -- Cherie Denise Mellow-Brooks, 40, of Lonoke died Saturday, Feb. 5.

Survivors include her husband, Richy Brooks of Lonoke; three sons, Austin Estes, Jason Brooks and Justin Brooks, all of Lonoke; two daughters, Kristi Mayhew of Redfield and Danielle Mayhew of Lonoke; her father, Richard Mellow of Magnolia; her mother, Beverly Reece of Cabot; one brother, Rick Mellow of Jonesboro; and one sister, Michelle Beck of Memphis.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Huson Funeral Home of Sherwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Aldersgate, 2000 Aldersgate Road, Little Rock 72205, or Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12th St., Little Rock 72204.

Brumley infants

CENTRALIA, Mo. -- Hope and Faith Brumley, infant twins of Willis and Carol Carlock Brumley of Centralia, died Sunday, Jan. 30, at St. Joseph Hospital at Tampa, Fla.

Survivors in addition to their parents include, two brothers, Hunter Brumley and Darrick Brumley, both of the home; one sister, Jessica Brumley of the home; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Faye Carlock of Marion; paternal grandparents, Willis and Dalline Brumley of Floral; and great-grandmothers, Sue Allen of Dyess and Thelma Brumley of West Ridge.

Graveside services were held Friday, Feb. 4, at Glendale Memorial Gardens at Centralia, with the Rev. Robert Gilstrap officiating. Burial was under the direction of Fenton Funeral Chapel.

Davis

OSCEOLA -- Charles Timothy Davis, 75, of Osceola died Monday, Feb. 7, at St. Bernard's Medical Center of Jonesboro.

Born in Osceola, he was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Davis of Osceola; a son, Larry Davis of Virginia; three stepdaughters, Debra Allen of Osceola, Millie Alford of Marshall, Texas, and Valerie Whimper of Joliet, Ill.; three stepsons, John Lee Wiley of Ohio, Harold Reeder of Shorewood, Ill., and Dewight Wimper of Virginia; two sisters, Lillian Davis of Joliet and Lavelle McIntire of Hayti, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Osceola, with Dr. Moses Black officiating. Burial will follow in Whiteside Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Flowers

EVENING SHADE -- James D. Flowers, 68, of Evening Shade died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at White River Medical Center of Batesville.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Hamilton

GREENWAY -- Philip Brandon Hamilton, 21, of Greenway died Monday, Feb. 7, near Greenway in a 1-vehicle traffic accident.

He was born at Piggott.

Survivors include his mother, Karen Winchester of Greenway; his father and stepmother, Eddie and Jenny Hamilton of Piggott; a sister, Jenifer Dawes of Greenway; his maternal grandparents, Alvie and Zell Burdin of Piggott; his paternal grandmother, Christine Hamilton of Rector; and his great-grandmother, Vivian Stevenson of Damascus.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott. Burial will follow in Piggott Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hoggard

PARAGOULD -- Earl Franklin Hoggard, 82, of Paragould died Monday, Feb. 7, at St. Bernard's Medical Center of Jonesboro.

Born in Sharp County, he had worked for the City of LaPorte, Ind., had been a farmer in the Milligan Ridge area and was a member of the Church of God at LaPorte.

Survivors include a son, Marvin E. Hoggard of Paragould; a daughter, Earlene Shrable of Paragould; two sisters, Nona Mitton of Buchanan, Mich., and Florence V. Adams of Wheatfield, Ind.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maple Ruby Hoggard; his parents, Cecil and Julie Hennessee Hoggard; three sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Marty Russell and the Rev. Ryan Shrable officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Bernard's Medical Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Horner

Verlon Horner, 70, of Jonesboro died Monday, Feb. 7, at Rose Skill Care Nursing Center.

Born in Manila, he was a graduate of Jonesboro High School and Arkansas State University. A longtime businessman in the Jonesboro area, he owned and operated a Texaco station for several years, was affiliated with Frolic Outlet Shoe Stores Inc. and had served in the Arkansas National Guard.

He was a member of the Jonesboro Kiwanis Club and a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Roselyn Horner; a daughter, Rose Havilyn Baker of Jonesboro; a son, Ike Horner of Jonesboro; a sister, Rebecca Fisher of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Harold Horner of Paragould; and three grandchildren, Spencer Isaac Horner, Alexandra Semmes Horner and Samuel Goodman Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mable Horner.

Private funeral services are scheduled under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
