Fortson

HARRISBURG -- Funeral services for Estelle Fortson, 85, of Harrisburg, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Jonesboro, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.

John Honeycutt will officiate. Burial will follow in Bolivar Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Fortson Jr., Scott Crawford, Bruce Crawford, Steve Jenkins, Terry Jenkins and Marty Horst.

Born in Harrisburg, she attended the Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include two brothers, D.W. "Doc" Fortson of Pangburn and Bobby Fortson of Milton, Fla., and a sister, Wilma Anita Crawford of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dock Wilburn and Lucy Ollie Bedwell Fortson, four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

George

PARAGOULD -- Junior Eugene George, 70, of Paragould died Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Heath Funeral Home.

Goodman

Mary L. Goodman, 79, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Feb. 10, at her residence.

Born in Memphis, she was retired from Crane Co. of Jonesboro and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Martin of Trumann; two sons, Dan White and John Allen Letner, both of Jonesboro; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John White; her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Pathfinder Inc., P.O. Box 647, Jacksonville 72078.

Hall

GREERS FERRY -- Zane Hall of Greers Ferry, formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Little Rock.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.

Howard

STRAWBERRY -- William Dawson Howard, 87, of Strawberry died Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Lynn, he was a World War II Army veteran and was a retired logger. A resident of California for 15 years before returning to Strawberry, he was a member of Cave City Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Howard of the home; two sons, Gaylord Howard of Strawberry and Billy Howard of Little Rock; a daughter, Rhene Howard Smith of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Josie Jane Brannon of Lynn; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, David T. Howard; one daughter, Sondra Howard White; his parents, Marvin and Eva Dawson Howard; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lynn chapel of House-Gregg Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pohlner

FISHER -- Rachel D. Pohlner, 82, of Fisher died Thursday, Feb. 10, at McAllen, Texas.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Weiner.

Repshas

CHEROKEE VILLAGE -- A funeral mass for Frances C. Repshas, 89, of Cherokee Village, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at her daughter's residence at Warren, Mich., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Cherokee Village.

The Rev. Kevin Atunzu will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Highland.

She moved to Cherokee Village 31 years ago from Detroit with her late husband, Joseph Repshas. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Repshas of Washington, Mich.; one daughter, Barbara Beale of Warren; one sister, Irene Stankewicz of Clinton Township, Mich.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Sunday with a rosary service scheduled for 5 p.m. at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Roberts

HARRISBURG -- A graveside services for Iris Lee Roberts, 86, of Harrisburg, who died Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Jonesboro, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Kausler officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Weston Funeral Service.

Born at Greenfield, she was a homemaker and had also worked for American Greetings in Harrisburg and at Waddle Drug Store. She was a member of Harrisburg First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Donald Roberts of Hattiesburg, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Roberts; her parents, Rolla and Gertrude Mobley Edwards; three brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Harrisburg.

Whitten

MONETTE -- Henry Oran "Jack" Whitten, 89, of Monette died Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A retired cotton ginner, he had lived in the Monette area most of his life. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Monette Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Frances Cornish of Elizabeth City, N.C., Anita Medlock of Dixon, Ill., and Betty Drake of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren, Lisa Cornish, Cathy Owens, William Medlock, Jeff Pressinell, Theresa Pressinell and Cindy Pavy; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Ada Whitten; his parents, Charles and Sarah Whitten; four brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gregg Funeral Home of Monette, with Gabor Siklosi officiating. Burial will be in Monette Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Whitten, Butch Whitten, Jerry Whitten, Alex Whitten, Lloyd Carmichael and Wendell Gadberry.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Lakeside Nursing Center Activity Fund, 1207 Willowrun Road, Lake City 72437.

Clifton "Rook" Pate

Church deacon

SALEM -- Clifton W. "Rook" Pate, 70, of Salem died Friday, Feb. 18, at Salem.

He was a retired managing supervisor for King Ready-Mix and a deacon at Salem First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Weaver Pate of Salem; two sons, Rick Pate and Mark Pate, both of Salem; three daughters, Connie Belew of Viola, Angie Bishop of Salem and Marla Long of Glencoe; two stepdaughters, Tina Crenshaw of St. Charles, Mo. and Shanna Maguffee of Mammoth Spring; two brothers, Leon Newberry of Salem and Jim Pate of Grand Saline, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Stuart Pate; his parents, James Harvey Pate and Georgie Tucker Pate Newberry; and his stepfather, Charley Newberry.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Salem First Baptist Church, with John Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Active pallbearers will be Bill Newton, Bennie Crouch, Dowl Godwin, Seth Pate, Jeremy Roberts and Stacey Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will include deacons of Salem First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Salem First Baptist Church Building Fund.
