William 'Billy Ed' Grady

FLORAL -- William "Billy Ed" Grady, 71, of Floral died Wednesday, July 20, at his residence.

Born at Augverne, he attended Hutchison Mountain Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Jetta Ruth Arnett Grady of the home; two daughters, Debra Machen of Tallulah, La. and Billie Ruth Grady of Jackson, Mo.; a son, Roy Stewart Grady of Little Rock; a brother, James Louis Grady Sr. of Tallulah; five grandchildren, Dene Machen, Alan Machen, William Hardison, Stewart Machen and Morgan Grady; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Edward Grady Jr.; two brothers; his parents, William Dene and Flossie Stewart Grady; two brothers; and a sister.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Sandhill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.

Joe Allen Hill

PARAGOULD -- Joe Allen Hill, 50, of Paragould died Thursday, July 21, at his residence.

Born at Paragould, he was a farmer and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy Allen Hill of Oak Grove Heights; his mother, Peggy Hill of Paragould; and a sister, Sheila Ward of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry L. Hill, and a brother.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Friendship Cemetery, with Royce Boling officiating. Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-1:40 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sherman Devon Martin

LAKE CITY -- Sherman Devon Martin, 72, of Lake City died Thursday, July 21, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Native to the Nettleton community, he lived most of his life at Lake City where he operated Martin Auto Parts and Service Station. He had been active in the Lake City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Martin of the home; and a stepdaughter, Leah Soffray of Jonesboro.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Pine Log Cemetery, with E. Winston Burton officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Geneva Pate

LEACHVILLE -- Hazel Geneva Pate, 84, of Leachville died Thursday, July 21, in Great River Medical Center at Blytheville.

Born at Malden, Mo., she was a longtime resident of Leachville. She was a homemaker and a member of Leachville Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Edward Pate of Monette, Bobby Pate of Leachville and Billy Pate of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Opal Sneed of Kennett, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnice "Bud" Pate; her parents, Edward and Cindy Riggs Sneed; three brothers; eight sisters; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Maurice 'Woody' Woods

MOUNTAIN HOME -- Maurice "Woody" Woods, age 77, of Mountain Home, formerly of Jonesboro, died Friday, July 22.

He was born at Highland, Ill. Woods was a retired sales coordinator for Alton Packaging, now Smurfitt-Stone Corporation, and was a lifetime member of the Kiwanis Club with 42 years of service in both the Jonesboro and Mountain Home clubs. He was a past president, past lieutenant governor, and was awarded the "Tablet of Honor Award" by Kiwanis International for support of worldwide service projects. He also received the Hixon Award -- the highest award given by Kiwanis International. He was a member of the AKTION Club and College and North Church of Christ and was a World War II U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors are his wife, Doris M. Woods of the home; four sons, Philip Woods of Mammoth Spring, Jeffrey Woods of Bay, Victor Woods of Springdale, Dana Woods of Mountain View; a daughter, Amy Shirley of Cordova, Tenn.; a sister, Doris Miles of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Earl and Cleo Pitchford Woods, a sister and a grandson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, in College and North Church of Christ with Ken Burton and Philip Medlin officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Carey Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home.

Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons and a son-in-law.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and members of the Mountain Home Kiwanis club.

Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children's Home or the Kiwanis Foundation.

Bradie M. Adams

JONESBORO -- Bradie M. Adams, infant son of Daniel Adams and Billie Shown of Jonesboro, died Friday, Aug. 19, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home.

Marcus Robert Arnold

NORTH LITTLE ROCK -- Marcus Robert Arnold, 67, of North Little Rock, died Saturday, Aug. 20, at Jonesboro.

Born at Newport, he was a farm laborer.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Arnold of North Little Rock; a daughter, Terry Agelina Goins of Hackett; a brother, Bill Arnold of Newport; four sisters, Mary Mooney of Jonesboro, Vonda White and Betty Ritter, both of Newport and Helen Stoner of Tuckerman; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ollie Blevins Arnold; a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dillinger Funeral Home of North Little Rock. Burial will be in Maple Springs Cemetery at North Little Rock.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday.

Margie Bradberry Cate

RECTOR -- Margie Bradberry Cate, 84, of Rector, died Saturday, Aug. 20 at Paragould Nursing Center.

Born at Pollard, she attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Rector.

Survivors include a son, Carl Bradberry of Roscoe, Ill.; a granddaughter, Danita Hall of Sussex, Wis.; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Bradberry, her second husband, Love Cate; her parents, Jesse and Maybell Allen Welty; two sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel of Piggott, with the Rev. Jack Bearden officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard.

Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home.

Augie Lee Duncan Myers Douglas

WYNNE -- Augie Lee Duncan Myers Douglas, 80, of Wynne, died Friday, Aug. 19, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.

She was a member of Pine Tree Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Freddie Simon "Tom" Myers of Hughes, Charlie Myers of Colt, Roy Lynn Myers and Bill Myers, both of Gurdon, and James "Jamie" Myers of Amity; four daughters, Liz Cooper of Gurdon, Freda Cardenes and Donna Jenkins, both of Garland, Texas, and Mary Ashley of Arkansas; a brother, Torris Duncan of Osceola; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Douglas and Fred Simon Myers; a daughter, Julie Ann Hathcock; her parents, Charlie Lee Duncan and Florence Elizabeth; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne, with Andy Price officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Cemetery at Forrest City.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Pine Tree Baptist Church at Pine Tree.
